2. Even if it were a noun, that would be correct.

Words that end in “-s” and don’t change to “-ses” in the plural typically just treat it like a typical word.

I actually used to be so confused by that one because I’ve seen people use the examples‘s example before. Took me ages to figure out what it was actually supposed to be.

On the other hand, at least it makes discerning basic meanings from other languages a little easier. I can’t claim to understand them at all, mind, but it’s surprisingly easy to puzzle out an origin word in another language if you know at least a decent amount of English vocabulary. I can’t think of any examples, but I feel like there’ve been some words where I’ve noticed a connection between it and an English one with a similar meaning.

(Also kudos to those who can learn English as a second language. Isn’t it considered quite difficult to a new learner?)
