You get hearts from friends and spirits! Friends light your candle and you can collect hearts that way, or you can send hearts directly to a friend (costs three candles). Also, every spirit sells one heart.

i got adopted by a veteran sky couple they pretty much showed me around, and I've actually learned my praire cr route from them they're also the ones who showed me geyser and grandma, although they're barely online nowadays
