A good way to go about this is just collect references of all your favourite artists, then write notes next to all of them on a big canvas (and circle parts/draw over it) of what it is you like about their work that you want to emulate into your own

art is a visual medium, and as you develop as an artist, your visual library will slowly expand but you really can't remember all that
so it's easier to have that reference down and use to like
actually think about what you want to do and what direction your work should move in

cuz for me when I did the inspiration board in the past and then worked towards it, I discovered it was less the style techniques of the artists I admired but more the stories the works told, the control of line weight that gave nuance to the drawings
so you kind of learn to enjoy the process in a way, cuz when you've drawn enough to be Good™️ then you reflect and it's like oh wow my interpretation back then was actually like, close but now I am even closer

||the fur can turn into a shadow to consume food, it eats fish and other aquatic creatures and its very good at swimming, the eyes look like lights and that usually deceives fish, the “ hair “ isn’t hair it’s actually some kinda fins n stuff and its made of scales, 3 mouths are on this skykid in total to consume maximum amount of fish, the eyes can see in many different directions and turn more than a human’s eyes and are almost at the side to do so||
