a tip that i rlly like to stop over complicating/rendering simple art is to focus on the major and important aspects and details that u want to come through in a piece and leave the rest less finished to make sure those aspects ur focusing on come through ! it also helps to do smaller sized sketches like thumbnail sketches and maybe if u limit the time u spend on said concept sketches u wont accidentally finish em

i also struggle with detailing too much so my personal tip that ive learned is that if u cant see the detail when u zoom completely out then u shouldnt be focusing on it ! i think shape is important and detail is too, but make sure u try and show the aspects that r important to ur sketch and not muddy it with extra bits n bobs

I want to do quick story telling here
||Yao Zhong was mistaken as dead since his body was not found,but his face does make him looks dead,but afterwards,he got possessed by a cursed spirit makes his soul continue to consume and consume,like slowly losing himself and his memory,the spirit then possessed him and tries to approach the royal/emperor for the throne,but bad thing is that he also a son of the emperor,so its kinda hard avoiding to hurt him and damaging his body and soul will continue to suffer and scream||
||So in this picture,the spirit can actually write a persons name on their hands and then proceed to make the hand bleeds so the person will die||
