But also like seriously if you do master studies, you'll find a lot of painters never use black

So the results are often very vibrant

You see a color, think “oh that’s white” and suddenly they put it in a white background and it’s legit blue

Tbh the basis of artistic stylisation of colour is just looking at how stuff works irl then bending it
For some people it comes more naturally, for others (me who sees no colour at all in my head so I just pure brute force muscle memory practice instead) you just gotta practice

Dude I go at those studies head empty I focus on finishing them and pray that my body remembers when I go back to my normal method of creating art because the layer and colour setup is different
So I'm just training my eyes to pick my mistakes better I guess

I suppose it depends on your outside-sky style, and the vibe you’re going for, most people (from what I’ve seen) use a more cartoony style for skids, but there are also those who draw them realistically, the same goes for the cape, some draw the cape as a second pair of arms while others make them follow the laws of physics

Luckily skids are very recognizable characters

And you can personalize their designs a lot without losing the essence of them
