i go by feeling when i do end up naming them, softer consonants for more delicate/quick/poilte/genteel characters , harsher consonants for more direct/brute force/blunt characters, idk some names just have a feel to them, simpler characters would fare better with one or two consonant names, but overly simple names that are 3 letters or less have a mysterious vibe to it
