it looks so cute 🥺 maybe it feels weird to u bc both arms are straight? i always end up fiddling w arm placement with poses. either bending the resting one slightly or giving a slight bend to the elbow of the outstretched one might make it look more balanced

I think it's possibly the leg/torso proportions, where the torso is very long and the legs are very small in relation to each other. Also the eyes look like they're looking down instead of up or straight ahead, which gives it kind of a shy expression contrasted with an energetic pose. Maybe see what happens if you move the eyes to look at the viewer?

the eyes are supposed to be like a ^^ expression, and you're right about the torso being too long, although i like the look of it, i havent tried with the legs yet so ill expirement with the proportion of it, and the relaxed arm feels forced and awkward, so ill bend it and make the hand into a relaxed fist kind of in front of the torso

maybe i come late, but something you could do is also change the mask eye shape itself, its pretty common to just change it as the eyes are fully white it is easier to just use the mask as a face(not a fan of "mask being the face itself" nonetheless)(on a more humanized way)

I totally forgot I made this but was going through some old art and found it. Some low effort concept art for a wild west type season. Basically takes place on an offshoot of the golden wasteland (the battlefield more specifically) wherein a group of survivors from the battle were forced to go further into the wasteland . They were able to construct a small town surrounded by a forcefield to protect themselves from the krill infested lands. One among them can even tame krill (and yes, ride them). Of the spirits, the one on the right is the Krill Rider, the one in the middle maintains the forcefield, and the one on the left, I forget exactly what they did but I wanna say they're a doctor. maybe I'll put some more effort into these at some point but I thought I should share

Finally free enough to actually start practice rendering the skykids i asked for a while ago and im still as lost as always lol we’ll get there, for now all i have this eye…. If anyone has tips for rendering dont be afraid to share them ! I would appreciate it (pls ping !)

Don't be afraid to build up colors slowly. Also some people think best by starting light and "painting shadow" whereas other people do best by starting dark and "painting light." Personally I like starting with my darker tones first and then moving to lighter tones but play around and find what works for you!

I like 2, personally, more movement and flow and a more dynamic composition. I'd recommend moving the skykid just slightly more towards the center though, so that you have their center aligned onto the bottom right intersection of a rule-of-thirds grid.

It's really hard to see it because I have a very light sketching pencil but I'm doing a piece based off Oktavia's English translation of the song Hated By Life Itself by Kanzaki Iori. This is my final thumbnail on paper before I take it to digital. In case my handwriting is obscure or too light to read, the lyrics I'm working with are "kids with passion to play make-believe / will become young adults with a will to achieve / as we age there comes a day where we fester like a falling leaf, carried down without a clue to prove we ever breathed" — it's a really sad and depressing song in some ways, but in other ways it's a really hopeful one. It's about finding your own reason to fight against hopelessness even when the generic pop-culture messages of "everything is for a reason" feel trite and hypocritical. It's a bit more of a sad thing than I normally draw, but in many ways the song makes me happy even though it sounds rather depressing on the first listen, and in a weird way it reminds me of Sky a lot tbh
