Doing a little collage to use as a background for my character and I need some advice. What do I do to the emotes/stances/voice stickers to make them stand out more? I feel like they get lost in the background and I don't really want to do a drop shadow like I did on the mantas.

you may have to indeed do a drop-shadow, but my recommendation would be doing a different shade to black for it. try maybe a white/off white colour, maybe? or a colour similar to the emote borders?

black would probnably make it blend too much with the lines of the segmentations

Yeah I did black on them for the shadow and it looked good but I wanted to keep it to the mantas to make it look like they are flying, ya know? But a different color might work. I thought maybe little scribbles or stars around them but I feel like that would clutter things more

maybe have one version with the drop shadows, one with the scribbles/stars, and put them side-by-side to see how you like them and pick which one you prefer from either
