Try using the line of action to help you with poses if you want to make it look dynamic! (Use refs too) and maybe try experimenting with shapes that’ll help you fit the pose as you like! It’ll look really nice in your art style!
(Btw it doesn’t always have to be anatomically accurate! As long as it fits your liking then go for it!)

Also try flipping the canvas! It’ll help uncover mistakes in your art and will do you lots of good in adjusting it to how you like!

Me personally I just kinda eyeballed it
For both length width, I did my arm span + a little
For fabric, I used some sort of felt I think?
And the markings I’m just using acrylics (the blue I used spray paint, definitely don’t recommend )
And clasps, I used this giant safety pin I have but I might add a place to tie a ribbon or two maybe for security (we’ll see tho)

ohh that's such a vibe, so much respect for people who can eyeball it, I had to patturn rip my first cloak off one I had made for me. saftey pins work great just be careful not to stab yourself, I do highly recomend getting a clasp somehow, there are pleny at craft stores or on etsy, but a satfy pin works great on short notice I used that for years.
acrylics are good! I'm fairly sure they can be used as fabric paint, even if they're unwheldy, just be careful when you wash it

Hi there, I can answer a few of those questions! For fabric it depends on the cape you want to recreate. But cotton blankets or bedsheets should work great because they come in a large variety of colors and textures and are usually pretty cheap. For the pattern, I went like an inch or so past my fingertips for the side. Most capes are going to be either a half circle or a 3/4 circle. There's a YouTube video that did a better job at explaining how to make the cape lol. For markings, there's acrylic paint or fabric paint, make sure to do a layer of white, it'll help any color appear brighter. That's all I can really answer right now since I'm new to cosplay making myself lol!

It's better to simplify the designs, some stuff can be a small detail but it can still change the whole outfit!
