My next crazy idea. We all know that there are real floating islands in the sky world, even people have learned how to create floating buildings in the valley of triumph.
But what if people sometimes lacked the capacity of the arks and they decided to create huge island ships that could be used as gigantic ships to transport any cargo or create entire floating cities on their surface

Decided to doodle some project sekai characters as sky kids again because the idea has been rattling around in my head again and it’s fun… and then I got the idea to start adapting their colorful festival outfits for it too (or… at least honami and kanade. I can’t explain whatever mafuyu has going on. I’ve gotten more than a bit off track with that one)… I’m tempted to try and do some digital drawings with these too instead of just in my sketchbook but it has been a nice way to get used to drawing on paper again since I’ve barely done any of that in the past month

I think it'd be smart to add a little bit of shading into the hair — it looks like your light source is coming from center- top, so maybe some shadows on the inside of the hair (like, the area behind the neck) + shadows underneath a few strands of hair — I don't think you have to go all-out to make it look good, though, maybe just some shadow touch-up on it

No problem! I'm not the sort of person who does a lot of the hours-long rendering thing myself, my style usually focuses on different aspects — so at least to my eye, I think you could get away with adding a few shadows in order to make it look 3D.

If you want to get fancy, maybe a tiny touch of low-opacity blue near the lower outer sides, or the simple neck + few strands coupled with some little glowing light effects floating above the skykid's head, almost like little fireflies of light.

Overall, I think some simple shading will go a long way without having to lose your mind, and then if you want some fancy touches, those would be some simple, non-timedraining ways to spice it up.
