Well, sky anatomy and human anatomy are different

Can give u some pointers if you'd like. The skeletons at the left are pretty nice, but be careful not to make your drawing "static" particularly at the sketch phase
Overdoing lines can make u fall on this
Be also careful to not make any features "escape" the general idea (re:the ear)

maybe separating the torso into halves (top + bottom) could help structure?
The head lines could be based differently from the circle, try getting the reference of a skull to help (trust me it will)

RE: if the anatomy of your drawing is "off": It's relative to the body shape you'd want your final character to have
As you've drawn it the total height is about 5-6 times the head size, which is anatomically a kid, not an adult. This doesn't mean it's wrong though (:

That wasn't the final part it was something quick to trick myself into thinking I did something I did notice now the head looks weird but the legs are just hard to draw man and so most cartoons I see like amphibia are just sticks so I tried that

cartoonish styles do have more curving to them, yes
you can see that in reference sketches of cartoonists (like walt disney or somethin)
maybe for posing exaggerate the curving to make it more flowy n stuff
i dont fully understand the cartoonish styles but i do know they have less complexity for shapes, more of rounded shapes like circles, ovals, etc
you can draw lines inside body structures to have them get a centre of mass, and when you pull that centre into a curved line you can have an open playing field with endless posing capabilities

tbf this was made in my style, which isnt cartoonish, more of semi-realism with my own twist

Now this is a bit of an exaggeration (being 8 heads tall means you're around 1.80m ), but yeah, if you're worrying about anatomy one of the most important things is keeping your body to head proportions right
(There's no "wrong" proportions, only "proportions that don't fit well the character you had in mind")

For example, if you want to draw a strong, well built adult and they're 5 heads tall, that's anatomically not correct
But a kid or someone short can be 5 heads tall
You said you wanted to do na'vi, who are usually taller than humans, so keep that in mind for your proportions

I'm feeling like doing a quick sketch of something and sharing my progress

if you work in cartoons there's what's called a style guide that the entire crew follows to maintain consistency across the board to keep the artwork looking consistent
but if you're just drawing for yourself then screw the rules

Until then, it's best if you train yourself in a wiiiiide variety of stuff 🤍

well what actually happens is it helps if you submit a portfolio that shows examples of work that best suits productions the studio tends to create
then if you make it to the next stage, they will give you an art test to do and you will create a piece to style match the show, then whatever happens is whatever

I do want to stress - every studio, and I mean every studio and production is different. There will always be differing requirements from show to show so
absolutely the basic fundamentals of art will be what carries you through all of that, so it's worth investing time into studying.

you're also gonna mess up a lot on the way there so just enjoy the process while you're at it

The upside of using a 6H pencil for sketching: your lines are super light and can be erased easily, making it easy to do details later on without your sketch layer being obvious

Sometimes, I go to Pinterest and search for pens. Thinking the right pen would improve my level in drawing although I know it won’t. And download many brushes that have good drawings as sample and use it to draw, only to find out brushes don’t sell skills. And cry for two hours. It’s my new hobby.
