Also remember we all came from the same start. Aka needing to practice and many still do practice even if u look at their art thinking “holy crap why isn’t mine like that” or “why can’t I do that”
Practice whether it’s a little or a lot with time will get you somewhere.
And being happy with your current piece, your own pace and your own effort in it self is amazing too.

we all have different styles and speed of learning, it is impossible to become a great master overnight. Gradual process is the nest way to go

Understandable it sadly can go down that spiral when u end up comparing with others sometimes maybe a bit too much

If u want to critic your art, be realistic with “this is what I can do now” and then look at maybe some small new goals once in a while “okay I want to practice circles” or “I wanna practice hands” “movements” etc etc and go small steps from there and look on now vs where u can from. That helps me with wanting to try and continue although I’m aware this might not help everyone

I didn’t draw for years and sky brought me back to that, so very happy regarding this part. It partially made me go into doing digital graphics too (just in my own case)

this is actually what i do. i have set a list of goals on what to improve on, and slowly complete eache and every task.

it has made me look at other people in a different way. instead of comparing my work, i think of how i can incorporate it into my style

hmmm thats also a big thing to an artist, the attention an artwork gets is very influential to an artist's happiness.

but i also think that what you draw and how you feel whn completing a work should not depend on that. you are not doing for the clout so to say, but rather what you like to draw.

It’s easier said than done, learning to or trying to dare to love yourself and your actions, can be hard but done with baby steps.
I used to also make small goals (still do) and then be like “oh I did that! Yay” and then going “let’s try continue”. It isn’t an easy or simple thing try and get through for all, and I’m not saying it should be either.

And ye ending up getting that dopamine from others appreciation feels great but Whether it’s conscious or subconscious where it influences your happiness can be so draining without the Person sometimes in question realizing it, while trying to seek it. I also have been in that hole and stepped away from my own photograph account because of it. I realized I stopped enjoying it and did requests based on likes. I’m not saying this might be your case at all, im just trying to empathize with my own example (if it helps at all). But just letting you know you’re not alone in this and we understand

We used to make our own “RPG Game” where we made up characters on one side with our inventory and home, and the other page of your A4 paper was the map and world we slowly build. Man I miss that (before smart phones)

Motivation while drawing is hard to maintain due to it getting boring or turning out a way you don't want it to be. But all I can say is rest and relax for a while, it could help a bit
