Thinking about the name Eden.
One would think about the biblical garden God made in 7 days. Where each day, He made the sky, the waters, the land, the plants, the animals, the people and then resting on the 7th day. It is also the place where according to the Christian text, the first Sin took place. Where Adam and Eve did not listen and took the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge.
Adam and Even were cast out of the garden and the place was sealed off with a gate and guarded by the angels.

What if the Sky version of Eden is similar?
As in, the place is the 7th realm, it is where the storm is centred (the origin of the Storm of Darkness), the ancestors were sealed out of Eden by the Elders and the tree of knowledge, or the supposed fruit, would be the darkstone?

One thought is experimentation — with one of the Abyss murals you can see ancestors equating different sizes and numbers of mantas with a number of power diamonds. Perhaps ancestor scientists experimented on how to get the most power diamonds from light creatures efficiently, leading to corrupting the creatures they experimented on

I have a slight hunch that these diamonds haven’t been questioned much.(or maybe they have and I don’t know, either way I’m continueing my thoughts.) So here is my theory.

These diamonds, the ones with the solid diamond in the middle and the floating outline around them, the ones like the king’s symbol but without the rays. These are symbolic of the elders.

To begin, I’d like to point out where we see these, and when grouped up properly, what quantity they’re in. We can find them on the eden door(s) and on the wasteland pillars in the first krill area(not the wall decorative pillars, the support standing out pillars) both occeruances are in a quantity of seven(with one seemingly missing but we’ll get back to that. We can also see one on the gondola tower leading to the colusium from the village of dreams, and even one on both of the isle elder’s statues on their forhead. As well as all seven elder hairstyle icons. This shows direct relation of this symbol to the elders, meaning that when we see it, we’re either looking at the inverted power diamond version, or we’re looking at the elders.

Now you might have noticed that when grouped there seems to be a notably missing 8th. I’m not 100% sure but I theorize this could be honting at a missing 8th elder(probably dead since thats what this game does with their missing leaders.) and after looking at the abyss consept art this might be a slight bit more likely. One piece showed a sunken massive temple like structure. Well, this is clearly a temple(but only because it is a temple that is temple like in nature.) this might hint at that elder having drowned.

And with that said, may we buy two bouquets of flowers for our three dead elders(two of them are twins so they have to share) and continue on with our lives.

I think the solid inset diamond is elders (it’s on the forehead of some elder masks the spirits are wearing) but I don’t know what the non solid inset diamond is. Like the one that isn’t filled in. It would be weird for them to be separate
the purple light symbol is also similar (has dot in the middle) and so is the one for darkstone which both complicate things so much further and are frustrating and guhhhh

After realizing the point of Eden is to die, I've got questions that have probably been answered here before about the point of Eden. After visiting Eden more and more, I keep having this lingering feeling that dying is not the way we're supposed to go, even though it is, in fact the way things must go. Why do we go there just to die? I know it is self sacrifice for the fallen children, but... why is needing to die necessary to "beat" the game? To me, dying feels like a loss, and reincarnation is just a way of the world or whatever supreme being there may be in Sky pitying us, and forcing us to do the same thing over and over again like there is supposed to be a way to save everyone and make it out alive.

The other is that we can only really return fragments of their memories, so little by little we're building them back up in orbit. Those spirits are frozen in place due to darkness petrificatjon (basically the dark stuff that falls off when you lift a candle above their heads) and we have to free them and sheoherd them so it doesn’t happen all over again. The elders’ jobs is to ascend those spirits, so we take them there and boom. Job done.

The colour red and blue have remained inconsistent to which side represents which colour.
The coliseum has been shown to host events that include the ancestors, and not just elders.
The season opened up the lower side of the valley kingdom that contrasts the glistening citadel.

Let's think things over for a minute.
Looking to Journey for inspiration, there are some similarities between the games' settings and plot style. However, there are key differences to keep in mind for Sky being a game that maintains the fact that it does not particularly follow the Hero's Journey, and the focus of the game includes interacting with other players along with environmental story telling.
The creatures in Journey are either representative of the living creatures that used to live in sky, or are spiritual creations that has always been there. While the Stone serpents are 'man made' creations that take inspiration from the cloth creatures; particularly the cloth dragon/whale.
Going by the game file name for the creatures, the Guardians are the flying stone serpent like creatures that patrol in a set pattern, and if one spots a cloth creature, the light goes from white to red and then charges (or dives down) at the creature; stealing the light from them.

In Journey, it is implied that the Guardians are similar to a large cloth creature called Cloth Guardians. These can be seen in the Tower, and in Apotheosis. This is due to the similar body shape (long slender body with fins on the side), despite the different head shapes and behaviour (the cloth guardians tend to twist and fly sideways at times; while a guardian tends to remain level and rarely twist unless when going in a tight turn).

Back to Sky's concept art.
My interpretation and understanding of the concept art for these images of the stone creatures are they could have been vendors for cosmetics.
Seeing they are not in the game, it could be either that they are cut from the game due to limitations or not fitting the scene.
I believe these would be in Valley, and used in performances and marketing.

I just hope TGC does consider adding them in the future.
Possibly as a creation from the ancestors, and can either be a neutral or hostile creature.

To separate the tangents about the guardians and cloth guardian in Journey compared to the krill (Dark Draogns) in Sky; and the stone creatures.

The stone creatures were a cut concept that may have been a precursor to how corruption affected the light creatures in Sky. As a personal analysis of the concept art, I propose that at one point in the game's concept phase that hypothetically, there could have been stone creatures that have become corrupted. Perhaps the devs thought about how the creatures being made of stone, the players might not emotionally bond to them and moved to including more natural creatures to make the corruption element more impactful to the story.

As for the cloth guardian vs stone guardian from Journey.
I will compare the games iconic scenes. One is the ascension section in Journey, where the wayfarer (the player) is flying through a storm with several guardians and once they break through the light barrier, the guardians transform into cloth guardians.
The other is particularly the concept art for Sky's ascension sequence that was cut from the live game. Even if this is cut content, I would still consider look at them to see where the game was heading towards at the time, seeing that Sky is a spiritual successor of Journey.

The ascension concept art is a bit vague, so I will provide context.
The image shows the skykid fly through the clouds with glowing eel like creatures alongside them. These creatures have appeared in the game before. The 'eel,' as there is not official name for them that I know of, is a large and slender bodied light creature with a rounded head, a flayed tail and a 4 pairs of fins that seemingly float off the body.
In Light Awaits, the creature can be briefly spotted in the clouds in Dawn, though that sequence has been changed. In the concept art, the creature seems to have been used to foreshadow the end of the game, as it follows the skykid from a distance to Eden.

I like to think seeing the creature ends up in Eden, and the realm is known to have corrupted a particular creature called Dark Dragons.
I would want to call this eel like creature a Light Dragon.
Partly because of the implications from the concept art, and on the similar body shapes, despite the different looking heads.
Though since this is just the concept art, and the creatures has been replaced by the whale , I may have to wait and find out.

For those who would like to know, the creature, also called the marble eel in this channel, can be seen in the game.
It is though much smaller than what it used to be and seems to either just exist as a reference to the past, or as a creature the skykid can just encounter in the game.
It can be found in the waters of Treasure Reef, swimming through the ruins and leaving a trail of blue bubbles in its wake.

Personally, I don’t think it’s even meant for people. Although spirits could use the kind of boats we’ve seen I don’t think its that common. They don’t seem to be meant for ideal travel for the ancestors and really aimed towards the creatures themselves to freely use

Flight probably learned a lot about caring for light creatures from Day. I’ve been wondering how Prairie spirits ended up in Forest, but maybe that’s the reason. Day knew that Rain was making tons of power diamonds, so they sent Flight to protect the creatures from Rain. The only entrance to and from the Wind Paths and Forest is in the green caves. It’s a complicated, roundabout route protected by stone on all sides, a cloud chasm, gates, and a locking platform that leads to a drop off. At the end of the drop off, you still have to scale a ginormous wall to get access to the caves, which are bustling with migrating birds and butterflies and jellies. It kinda seems like someone didn’t want the creatures to have to go through Forest. The chimes and bells could attract the migrating creatures out of harm’s way so they didn’t end up becoming some of Rain’s diamond exports
