Though if the heart beat does elevate (as in where you dont hear it coming from them on their own, though can be heard while holding hands), that might suggest them reacting to the stimulus of holding hands.
You guys talk about heartbeats yet I never heard any ??? I regularly hold hands with friends too...
Or u know it might just trigger their fight and flight response whenever they hold hands

The heartbeat is usually drowned out by other audio but try going to a quiet place, maybe a cave and you'll hear it
you can try it, it is very subtle.
If I recall correctly, it also comes up at the end of the skykid's life. While they are without light, limping and about to perish, you may also hear their heartbeat.
O-ok I will try that out next time. If it's easily drowned out tho, how did people find out it stops in Eden ?
Skykids technically learn how to do emotes from spirits. They're unable to learn it by themself or from their friends even if it's simple. Unable to clap hands unless they found the spirit who can do so.
Does that mean the only way they show emotions to others is by learning from the spirits first
Possibly, the skykid learns to express themselves based on the memories of spirits.
Lorewise, I like to think that the skykid may pick up on expressions of other skykids. Though for the sake of the game, the mechanic of learning new emotes relies on spirits for skykids to learn from instead of learning them from other skykids.
I like to think Skykids mimic their environment (animal sounds, "fainting" spirits, hairstyles) and that's because as extremely social creatures they need that adaptability.
frog
How old are the Sky Kids?
Since they just die and rebirth, I would say they're very old but they don't age much from their appearance. Kinda why my friends like to say the white hair was because everyone is old lmao. But it depends on you. Skykids don't have canon ages
Alright, thanks
2 years 2 months
would sky kid bl00d be hot wax? what color would they be in? or is it randomized? or is it darkness?
I'd say stardust.
Fun fact! On the forgotten ark, there's a mural of a large Krill.
I'm pretty curious about what this means lore-wise, since it implies that whoever first decorated the ark could have known about krill before/during the bad stuff (?)
I could just be reading into it
I thought they had crashed during the start of krill while word hadn't entirely spread yet that Wasteland had krill. And megakrill confirmed
I'm not sure about the lore of the game, it's been awhile since I looked at any of it. So 🤷
Kid age. Like the inklings from Splatoon.
Interesting thing I noticed while flapping about in Home. There’s sounds that play when you stand close to the realm portals, they’re different for each realm. Here’s my take on each.
Isle: Sand being blown around by loud gusts of wind.
Prairie: Lighter gusts of wind, birds chirping.
Forest: Rain. Checks out.
Valley: Faint cheering, maybe some horn sounds? Wind gusts as well.
Wasteland: Shouting. Lots of voices, probably in battle.
Vault: Deep, reverberating tones not unlike when you use the levitation emote.
Eden: Honestly the coolest. Really deep, dark pulsing with occasional wind howling, Sometimes it even begins to sound like something’s growling really deep, almost like a dragon.
AU LORE NOT CANON (unfinished)
Isle
Agricultural haven, Dawnians have learned how to turn the sand into fertile soil and grow endless foods and spices. 30% of food and spices come from the Isle Of Dawn.
Skids from the isle usually have darker skin due to the harsh sun and hot weather. Their masks are made from sandstone and they often wear loose clothing like shawls.
Isle of Dawn doesn't have a singular ruler. In fact they have a council of 6 people. Each one chosen by the elder.
The isle elder doesn't interfere in any decisions other than choosing council members.
Prairie
Daylight prairie has fish and pottery as their main trade. They have tamed mantas and use them to help carry large fish and materials.
Prarians utilize the many floating islands to build homes, docks, and markets only accessible via manta. Manta markets usually sell tools and materials for not only fishing and pottery but for manta care as well.
Prarian skids are pretty tall and have darker skin. They wear efficient and waterproof clothing. They also have masks made of shells.
The prairie has a laid back king that would consider understanding before punishment.
The elder also doesn't interfere much, but he keeps harvests plentiful.
Forest
Hidden forest is a hub for medicine and treatment. Forestans use what the forest gives them, which is a surplus of medicinal herbs, fungi, and animals.
Not only do they have medicine as their main appeal but they also sell fabrics and clothing.
Skids from this area are small and nimble. They can maneuver easily through the dense forest. They wear clothes that are made with plant fibre and their masks are made with wood.
The ruler of the hidden forest is the elder herself. Shes blunt, focused and doesn't beat around the bush.

Valley
The Valley of Triumph is the liveliest and loudest of all the realms. The main trade of the valley is weaponry and armor. But its not the blacksmithing that made them famous, its their sports and competitive festivals that bring the most draw.
Racing and gladiatorial bracket fighting are the most common form of sport, however skating and stunt flying is also fairly popular.
Music is an alternitive to those who dont want to do any sports but still want to participate. Most events have a band that will do fanfare after fanfare while the athletes do their work.
Vallian skids are often fair skinned and of above average height. They dress in warm, fluffy clothes and their masks are made of various metals and are often decorated. Athletes wear tight clothing that increase movement and depending on what sport they play they may choose not to wear a cape.
The valley has a singular king that rules all and has a single heir. The elders serve as judges that decide punishment to those who have done something against law.
Just outside Isle u can hear the bell tower ringing
Oh true!! I thought that was the one in Home when I first heard it, that’s cool!
I spent so much time on this-
Oooooooo
There is also a krill in the prophecy mural
Krills prolly existed before the kingdom even started, they were just rlly rare
shiny light dragon, the stinky variant
Uncorrupted krill when?
Whos bones are in the wasteland graveyard?
Since what you lose when you're getting hurt is your light and winged light, I suppose the closest thing to blood for skykids are those. Maybe they bleed stardust...
Why do portal bells in home ring btw ? The ones I hear the most often are the Isle and Eden ones, does it happen every time a player awakens an Elder or is it a precise time of the day ?
As far as I remember, the bell rang every 15 minutes. Idk the reason behind it though
Ghost
Ahhh I see, thank you !
eden bells!?
Unless yo meant the bell about the portal to eden, it would be creepy if Eden had bells.
The way how bells ring constantly in Dawn and orbit represents a calling for skykids to complete their mission. Perhaps the one in home that rings every few minutes is just the game's way of reminding the skykid that their goal is in Eden and it represents a call to action.
was stalking on someone's twitter profile that i came across this
(@sky32951462)
holy megan no wonder that place seems so familiar
YOU SAW IT TOO
factory,,,
I was thinking about the white figure you hug after you die in Eden. Has someone already thought about it?
That winged light gave us all the wls we used to have before going to eden. Now this one is more interactive. You can hold their hand and hug them.
Is it really a wl or something else
Well I think it's effects on them so they feel, btw have small theory about something like that (I posted that before lol)
Skykids feel cold, specially in water, .... if they fall in hot or warm water they can swim and it's not hurt them ...or the lukewarm water
... But cold water is completely different... They can breath under this water but can't swimming (like valley ice rink water) , if it was sooo cold (water trial for example) they die if they fall in it, their body so weak to bear it
Maybe I was right when I talked about wasteland in the past
It actually gives you 7 wedges, with no wl count.
They don't seem like they need other things to survive other than keeping their light safe
Speaking of Wastelands, hear me out.
What if the part from the Valley temple to the GW social area (or even until you fall down the tornado into the desert) used to be a race ? It has similar architecture to the buildings we see around the flying and sliding races, and that temple exit looks too much like an old race beginning that was destroyed by natural disasters.
The boundary between the social area and the tornado cutscene looks like a race bridge that was torn, with the lil flag.
Flying race looks like it was modified by the ages as well, you got ruined buildings floating before you reach the map linking both races. Perhaps the clouds weren't here before...
Sand race maybe? Or it used to have snow like Valley too. Maybe the race is supposed to be longer from Wasteland to Valley but got changed after the war.
Ah it's late and my mind couldn't think right
It's possible the war destroyed it; could have been a boat race, or could have been not a race at all, but simply a convenient exit to have at the end of the race; maybe that's from where the public comes and goes.
Is this the case no matter how many wl you had?
I cannot remember since moth days
I got 7 wedges despite crossing stormlock with 10; I also recall getting 7 as a moth but it might be because the player leading didn't want us to get in without enough light to survive the storm, so maybe I got 7 wedges already when I got here.
Thought it was the whales or something, initially survived then died as the rainwater became polluted
Also, in gw after the cutscene where you open the gates, you don't get red candles as wax? More curious since I thought at least all red wax would give light
Probably stupid, but reinforces the fact that the trials--had actual people in. One was a wall being broken down and another being this one (1 died)
So do people in fire--they also have their bodies in (4), plus one in water, one in air too
Wonder why only fire trial has in 4? Like 4 deaths?
Question is, why would people do the trials then, if it really did involve people and wasn't just in our heads? Were they hoping to go back to the stars? All of them?
Some people think trials were a way to choose the next king
My theory is that the dead people are dead skykids. The trials were a way to choose the best skykids for future generations and to keep things in balance.
Well, skykids are a totally different generation from the ancestor spirits. All skykids came after the destruction of the kingdom. So the figure depicted in the mural wouldn’t be a skykid, they’d be a young ancestor. Skykids only look very similarly to Ancestors, possibly because they were molded in their image.
But you’re probably right. It seems that many attempted the trials, but only one was able to succeed, and was thus crowned King!
I hear King
where’s the video of the king dancing it cracks me up every time
Here.
Ah yes, I almost forgot that video….
GET- not Resh’d, L
Resh might not be a stranger to love, but does he know how to rule the world (like everybody wants)
The other day I listened to a cover of the El Dorado song “It’s Tough To Be a God” and (not) Resh dominated my brain for it all. Even if it’s wholly inaccurate characterization, looking at the dancing video while listening to it again makes me laugh
It could be symbolism: trying to stuff dozens of people in a mural would be difficult
I'll ask my moth assistant to accompany me to Eden, for science.
You always have 7 wedges when you enter that area, i thought it had something to do with the max amount of wl before ascension giving you 7 wedges but i dunno
hello tg my old friend
Why did someone take the time to make that though (dying from laughter)
Not necessarily lore to some but one of the huge important themes in Sky shows up in TGC's game Flower and it's so important in Sky that I think crossover.
Also as a Hollow Knight fan I have a tendancy to overthink anything I think could be lore-related lol
frog
Phrog
WHERES MY 300 HEARTS
i know what this is! the orbit light thingy always gives you 7; whether or not you have more wedges then 7 or less wedges
@sharp lichen it’s been half a year already, you haven’t paid ur fines
Did you know that the Little Prince’s story quests represent the stages of childhood? At first, he’s a playful toddler, then he becomes more curious, then relaxed at Hermit Valley, and he becomes more quiet in the penultimate quest.
300 hearts, where is it
Also, I thought the Rose represented parents. It watches as the Prince leaves and ignores them while their own situation gets worse and worse.
Someone might have this idea already but I think skykids can't talk so they just make those noises to communicate
frog
frog
That's actually areally good headcanon. The only thing that makes me think the rose isnt really parent-like is she drives the prince crazy with her vanity and her ordering the prince to do things for her. That's why he left in the first place. He couldnt handle her pompousness anymore.
That's how it goes in the storybook.
do we have any spoilers for the next seasons items
Ye
You can look in the beta channels if you want to see content for the upcoming season, but keep it in the beta channels until it goes live. It's not allowed to discuss here until then
Yeah, I feel like the rose, if she is a metaphor to start with, is more akin to a personification of things a child would hold dear.
A lot of things are let go of because they were too much to deal with, only to be remembered fondly due to nostalgia and revisited.
Could also be a mcguffin to show someone growing from viewing things superficially to finding the deeper meaning, but in the book the prince seems to understand the rose is faking illness or strenght so...
Wow
Ok but it ends me how we can't see how the prince doesn't really listen to questions directed at him (like in the book) because our skykid can't speak.
Skykids, the ideal companions if you love asking questions but seldom answer them.
Suddenly he must be more chatty about his home and life. Its reverse psychology, clearly skykids are masters of it.
A lot of people just needs someone to hear them, and also like not brush them away soon. Even despite not answering (at least in a human way), skykids still remember LP, and that's prolly what he wanted. To be remembered.
Or just wanting a company who understands him as long as he's alive, perhaps
I read the prince and fox both feeling lonely in their home and it completely broke me. Must feel like that when you're a sky kid that can communicate with gestures but not much deeper...
And the book ending is like ??? The prince does say the iconic line of the stars laughing for the narrator, but he also adds that to him, every star will be like a bucket of water the narrator pulled from a rusty well by the strenght of his arms, and I think that this with the fox saying domestication meant it will think of the prince's hair when looking at wheat fields is a beautiful allegory to befriending and losing touch with people.
You may have drifted apart but you still remember their birthdays... You still see them, because eventually some things are linked to memories you had of them.
I think Sky can be a bit like this, friends come and go but you don't always forget the realm you met them in, and you remember the first time an experienced player took your hand through a difficult place or to find spirits you didn't see yet.
Even if you did forget the realm, you mostly wouldn't forget some of the talks you had, visiting some beautiful places which you never discovered before and simply have someone leading you is sometimes just the most beautiful thing (not related to LP, just me being half nostalgic) as you are dragged by and join the beauty of Sky with a friend
this reminds me of my moth days
sky kid (we think)
What happened in sky
How bout we bargain it down a little
Might be
ohh
Hello lore chat, does anyone have theories about the koi ponds and fish in Sky?
what happened in wasteland
No
i dont think we met but im just a tokyo ghoul fan
chesca, please, lower the fine
It’s been half a year, and they try to deny paying the fines multiple times
ofc they would! 300 hearts is like a million php
Mate, the fine (originally) was literally 10 hearts but then they ignore me and then proceed to not give me hearts for a lot of weeks >:(
So the prince now is actually the first skykid?
maybe, some people believe so (not confirmed tho)
oh
if his a skykid, then what are we
joke
we are actually [REDACTED]
How much do they have to pay
300 hearts
Wow- welp they should start paying
how about for one crab mushroom skewers
No
Accepted, pointing candlemaker also has what I assume is a family in their memories so....
a firework for defence againts krills?
No
Why do you want to help anyways
i don't know
||i ain't trading my tinfoil sword||
Luckily, you don’t need to
Luckily I'm not in debt
TLP lore question:
In the 6th quest, we see TLP being noticed by a krill, but the krill eye never turns red, maybe because TLP doesn't have any light in them like we do.
But in the 7th quest, TLP can be revived with a winged light, even though he isn't a light-affiliated creature.
What happened?
To be fair I think only his body came back, and not his soul, when we reached orbit (near him that is--he was dying because he definitely couldn't survive that for long. He's not exactly a human so he managed to go up to Orbit). That was why (imo) he was quiet all the time there and also extends his hand to us last before he "ascends" (aka dies and meets his rose)
Krill didn't spot because he probably didn't have any
Actually I have a theory:
TLP did indeed die, the reason why we can give wl to his statue is because it's hollow and we naively think it would work
The TLP we see is a dream/hallucination which is why it's silent
After all a good part of this book is based on the author's hallucinations
But TLP's soul comes back to the planet and he and the rose now live together in the spirit plane
Brings me to a question...a rather surprising thing which I might headcanon, what if the krill attacked those with more good-ish(?) intentions [if you can say that] because it kind of feeds off of that and gets disturbed on seeing one being...lack of better word, "divine"?
Think about it. Prince comes down, down because of his guilt and now adding up "sins" of sorts (aka not going back to the rose and leaving her behind despite her apologising, meeting new worlds, leaving back his fox as he did in the book, leaving people behind in general idk, I know it's not a sin--or to word it better, wrongdoings?) and that's why he needed to let go of his mortal body, aka the body he has, to ascend back (imo something like his body "collecting the dirt/sins and pulls him back")
Obviously now that would automatically somehow say that Tsadi and their people were the more better ones under their lead which might not be the most true thing (perhaps, idk, because it happens in their realm after all and would be notified of it until it's too late...right?)
I like to think TLP and the Starlight Desert are Vault-induced hallucinations, or at least just the sky kid imagining interacting with a fictional character like we all sometimes do (even adults).
Like, the Vault is a library so perhaps someone managed to work out how to use one of the "books" (diamond things) and it turned out to be a children's story. And everyone liked that :)
That would make sense, but hand hold? Was that also a hallucination?
I mean it would make sense, just that little thing
Yeah, I've thought of that too
Dream Lantern Theory:
The entrance to Starlight Desert is actually an exposed part of a large dream lantern that allows us to enter a dream version of Sky where the Starlight Desert and TLP exist
Also I think there are some hallucinations that are vivid enough to feel like you're touching them, not sure about that
Now the question is, who created the Dream Lantern and why?
Personally Vault members teamed up and built TLP and rose, as a fond reminiscence to their loved ones who had died due to experimenting with telekinesis and other stuff which they were not capable to do so
(spirits being one from their memories, each one individually. Then they shifted the convo to the drunk warrior in gw who represents slouch--and that becomes the 6th spirit as they all know about the 6th and filled in each other's blanks)
Dawww that's pretty heartwarming
yeah, I like that idea 😄
Doesn't need to be a giant lantern, that hole in the wall and subsequent desert could be really present, but the more surreal parts like the rose garden and spirit islands could be imagination. Perhaps the spirits are projections of the lantern, but the prince is our sky kid filling in the gaps and imagining that elusive friend.
idk, just a theory
don't expect TGC to give word of god on this either
(unless POMASE makes them)
Quick doubt, would it be there up till Orbit though?
In the Dream Lantern theory, the lantern is really that big that it has information covering the ENTIRE sky world
I think it's fun that each of us got their own vision ! I prefer my theory because it justifies the collaboration (and the consequences of its end, you can close books).
Your sky kid could imagine the prince meeting them here. Perhaps he's an imaginary friend...
Yeah, it could be just a dream/hallucination considering how he doesn't talk.
Oh, that would make sense, since the quest does happen in different realms after all
Just--I don't think the others happen in Eden, so just a little wonder towards there, but makes sense
Would that also mean that the books (not TLP, general) knew what was present in Orbit and Eden? If yes, then who wrote it?
Or was it like "the King who couldn't be saved decided to (partly) end up as the writings on the books, although not with physical presence, more of an imprint as his memory shall forever live within the books"?
Hm, perhaps...plausible
Probably the memory (memory lantern) stopped as he turned into stone, and from then onward it's just our hallucination
Hmmm.... who wrote it...?
Maybe it's a bunch of Scholars who recorded their dreams into the same lantern (because they believed that they had meaning and epiphanies that they wouldn't see in their waking life) and over time, the dreams leaked into each other and became this
That, or anti-alef scholars who wanted to imagine a better Prince
I don't believe in a giant memory lantern, only a regular lantern someone somehow got to work, I'm basing myself off the fact we only see the prince when outside the vault, so said lantern would probably only effect the confines of the desert (the spirits, surreal details and maybe the rose).
All the quests we did are, according to me, the imagination of our sky kid, the same way some of us had imaginary friends.
St Exupery landed in the sky world and got the vault scholars to record his book maybe
Would explain the extra two stick figures under Rejecter and Stargazer. Pointer and his wife and daughter.
Alright, someone catch me up. Me missed a lot.
My guess is the krill senses light(evidence is when you are extinguished the krill won't notice you) The Little Prince isn't a light creature,so he doesn't emit light, the only problem is that if you stand near The Little Prince, your energy gets recharged
Hmmm.
Maybe the Prince is a solar panel.
reads book explains why he doesn't have parents
so why does he have no parents
Because he is a solar panel
if he is a solar panel, maybe that's also how the rose photosynthesizes
Maybe the skykid just doesn't realize that the Prince isn't a skykid
Also I still think that Orbit Prince is a hallucination
Also the Prince's replacement is a beta spoiler so you should probably delete the last part of your message.
<<<theory was removed>>>
This will return in 7 days...
dude, his replacement isn't on live yet. beta spoilers aren't allowed in the lore channel, sorry 😦
if you wanna continue we can dms
I will be back.
I can DM you a theory tho! Do you wanna see it?
This pic just made me think, if the refusing spirit is depicted with their headpiece, they might be special and hold a kind of authority; a kind of dean perhaps ?
Maybe they represent the other ancestors that live in isle.
What if exhausted dock worker, apologetic lumberjack, fainting soldier and levitating adept had the same kind of authority ? Maybe they all represented the ancestors living in their respective realm to the elder, or at least their community (since we only see a portion of the world).
Valley may be special in that its elders are two, perhaps they are organized differently.
Refuse-san's headpiece is most likely supposed to be boat-shaped. Do with that information what you will.
Yeah, and exhausted dock worker's is a pot. Lumberjack's is a diamond, and levitating adept's is a book. They might have seen their elder in person.
So they must've been high-class, really close to the elder in work/political terms or something?
Maybe not that close either, more like a representative of the common folks to the elder. Dock worker has a pretty mundane job for example.
Perhaps they're like, this trope of the community mentor where people trust them to take care of teaching the youth. Doubt the elder would concern themselves with mundane problems too, so maybe that's the job of those ancestors.
Ah, so those ancestors are the PR servants of the elders?
PR= Public Relations
These ancestors speak on the Elder's behalf, they are the bridge between elder and civilian
For example, as an ancestor spirit, you probably can't have an audience with the local elder, but you could ask this spirit your question, which they will either answer themselves, or take to the elder next time they see them if they deem it important enough.
Yeah, that's definitely something a PR servant does.
Like, maybe a landslide (not unheard of in wet areas with deforestation) destroyed your house in forest and you're asking for help rebuilding it and a shelter.
If you're the only case like that, the lumberjack spirit would direct you to a temporary shelter and maybe alert your neighbors to help crowdfund that.
If the whole neighborhood is affected and they're getting complaints all over, they would probably tell the elder themselves so more ressources are put into that particular area to rebuild it.
Aside from that duty, they probably are neither particularly rich nor powerful, hence why most if not all seem to have a pretty normal job. They might have been selected for their closeness to the community too. That's the kind of wholesome content about helping eachother the game would have, I think.
I remember the mods did say something about keeping the post in English,if you are new
Anyone curious as why the misc platform have those gold floors while the other platforms are just ordinary stones?
(pic taken at Forest)
If I recall correctly, in every cosmetic station, the prop section stands out.
Perhaps it normally holds unique items that skykids can use, such as instruments, chair, fireworks etc?
imagine the bog water reacts like ferrofluid when enough sky-kids/light are around 👀 👀
I need neww loreee,,,
About what
anything wejqjipwqpkoq
Ask a lore question
Question
Why are there flags on the prairie temple?
And why aren’t light creatures affected by rain?

There’s your lore question
As for question 2...
Maybe we're more sensitive to darkness than the light creatures
I wonder... does Forest rain help dark plants grow?
That may be why they can grow fast enough to trap mantas
Oh yeah can someone explain the random frozen birb in front of Citadel?
Possible offering to something?
Bird sacrifice to the mega bird?
we can take more than 1 krill's ram than a manta can
rain doesnt necessarily seem to affect dark plant's growth, if that was the case, there should be bigger dark plants mass in the open
lights await content, pretty much an easter egg
Krills are really strong, the rain is probably just rlly weak
Like they're not affected by it but we are
Maybe acid rain has been around longer than we think and the light creatures evolved to be immune to it
the vault pot and forest boneyard eggs too
What vault pot
the rain isnt acid
Gold pot?
ground floor, left side, gold pot
So, I know why the Rainbow Bridge exists in Sky, I understand game programming enough to know what it is and why it's there.
But can we have an in-lore reason why it exists? I think that'd be cool.
Daleth said gay rights.
gay rights
gay rights
Gay rights🌈
gay rights
yes
Daleth needed to go somewhere really gay.
Ah yes back then I assume it has something to do with TLP since it came around 2nd or 3rd quest but welp... haha guess I'm wrong
Hi
Hi
Why?
what kind of creature were the pair riding in the nintendo switch launch trailer?
Krill but without black paint
w h a t
theres no way to know since it only exists in the trailer as of now, and ingame content lacks creature diversity atm.
theres a handful of variants for mantas and we know that krills are corrupted; formally called Dark Dragons. the whale and crabs, however are unique in their own rights
u can call it mantatee as some folks call it, or maybe a light dragon would be more appealing to u
Question: is there a way to go back to the very beginning of this channel? I want. To read. EVERYTHING.
You can search in the search bar in: lore-discussion-spoilers and then sort by oldest posts first. But there are over 660,000 to go through so good luck
Thank you! I'll give it a shot 😅
Good luck
This theory is about how TLP will be replaced in his cutscenes because of copyright reasons. It is not in live yet (BETA only) , so it shouldn't be discussed in Lorechat yet.
Oh
guess i gotta play through the season asap if I wanna experience TLP
Yes
Prepare yourself
Mentally
Edit: This is TLP the quests will be as much of a mindfrick as the original book
How does the Valley Ice rink work? We skids usually float on water, but we can go under the ice rink...
I'd say they drained the water underneath the ice rink so that only ice remains on top but boats can be put in the ice rink holes so the water in that ice rink must be like 5x denser than us
Because it had a spoiler in it.
oh
the water under the ice rink very much acts the same as normal water, the fact that we could dive in without restrictions, i believe is just game mech unique to ice rink
a proper interaction towards water like diving and floating might be in tgc's list, but it doesnt have any use atm. wait for underwater ruins i guess
You'd think they would use summer events for that lol
sanctuary was a summer season
ah, so no lore to it?
(but if there is it's probably because ice rink water is denser than other water sources in sky)
dunno, if u believe theres something more to it, no one's stopping u
Thought it wasn't originally an ice rink but actually a place to dock your boat, hence the ones you find in here.
what is "the Megabird"????

Disclaimer, this isn’t religious topic just something that kinda caught you eye. So recently I came across a book talking about “biblically accurate angels”, I went to valley and I saw this the same day. Would be interesting if someone was watching our journey through sky
#screenshots-and-videos message baby krill?
new headcanon: valley elders are accurate biblical angel enthusiasts
I remember reading that Vault is supposed to be a dreamlike state (left to interpretation).
Consider this: what if your Skykid is so tired/traumatized after Wasteland and all realms they have traversed, that they collapse? And in their knocked-out state, they dream of the things they encounter in Vault – like a dream vision?
The part after the Elder's cutscene is when the Skykid is jolted awake, only to find that in reality, there is a far more dangerous realm to delve into.
I think it explains the discrepancy between the meditation to get to Vault Elder's cutscene and the place where we end up after the cutscene.
Ophanim/Thrones (the angel depicted here) are the wheels of god's chariot. Up to you to interpret the ones in Vallry as cartwheels like in races !
I personally prefer to think of these as orreries since the elders are linked to stars and such a complex mechanism could be a way to boast.
Kinda makes sense. Other than wars chariots were mostly “showed case” in sports/colosseum and that’s what valley is sort of like a sports place plus the colosseum
Oh absolutely the twins probably boast about how they accomplished the big floating kinda orb in the citadel, about how their remaining powers let them do that mainly
If only Sky was more linear, this theory can be true: but what about portals? And what if you just cruise by Wasteland?
300 hearts, where is it
Funny how they're suddenly quieter when you mention all the lags and bugs in their realm.
That depends on the gameplay style; it doesn't negate the fact that krills exist. It doesn't negate the fact that Sky is still a ruined kingdom and you have to take it all in knowing you can't do anything about it to fix it.
And portals are for us to reach destinations quickly. It's a user interface thing. Imagine if they didn't exist – imagine having to reach Vault after passing through five realms!
portals can be canon, if it isnt canon already that is
Hello people, just in case the Megabird created new people after the corruption occurred by the King?
Maybe,imo ye
Yes, I believe that would be us
But were we created to fulfill the mission or do I create more people in the new world and only us do I invoke or call to fulfill the mission?
I love your theory, I write it down
I wonder if the Kingdom has an official name
How bout illuminati
I think it's technically just Sky
theres no general name for it as far as i know, folks just call the kingdom Kingdom or Skyverse. i hc refer to the whole kingdom as Eden tho since the 'Eye of Eden' just refers to the 'Eye' of the storm above Eden's castle
Someone referred to it as "Horizon" I heard, but personally I think the world itself is Sky, and the kingdom is just referred to as such, no name really.
horizon sounds dope ngl, tho doesnt seem to fit
I also refer to the whole kingdom as Eden, for the same reason ^^
Im new to this , send me all the lore yall have
That's actually a really neat question! It all depends on just how much thought you think the Devs put into naming the level. For instance we can assume from the fact that the Eye of Eden is called well....the Eye of Eden probably because that's the name of the storm that's ravaging the mountain as it's eye/center is what the entire area is named after! From there we can take a step back and assume that the Mountain might also be called Eden as the storm could have been named based on where it first emerged from (and because the name Eden has a connection to the Garden of Eden and that would tie in nicely with the idea that the Moutain is a sort of holy site for the kingdom of sky from the concept art). If we're to take another step back we could probably theorize that the Kingdom itself was/is called eden as a country being named after it's capitol and vice versa is quite common.
In truth however we only really have enough evidence for the first assumption as the second and third ones don't really have any concrete facts to back them up. Beyond that the 3rd assumption especially dubious as (if I remember correctly) on the Sky website the Kingdom is referred to as "The Kingdom of Sky" which is most likely it's name. unless that name only means that the Kingdom is of the Sky game itself and not of the Sky in game and if so then we might never actually know it's true name

Hey kid, wants some docs?
So.... darkness attacked in a certain point of time and what were playing now is the future of that kingdom?
Have ye heard of King propaganda?
Sure
I should’ve known it was a Reshroll from the size of the video
Anyways

AAAAA SORRY that response was ment for the person above you curse this slow chat whhen3meieh. You should probably look at some of the lore docs in the Pins first to get some background knowledge! The lore is pretty vague so there's lots of room for interpretation. Have fun in the best chat in the entire server
ok
photo and concept art compilations. A few cut creatures, megabird, and king.
Ok, here's a theory I haven't seen anyone else do before and I think would be interesting. So, the krill are all over Golden Wasteland, right? Well, why would something natural give it's prey a warning it was there? And why would it last so long with no real food? Both are explainable by them being man-made, presumably to resemble either a whale (in which case whatever made the frame look like one has rotted away or disentegrated) or a whale skeleton (possible because masks of spirits in that area resemble the whale skull found near the Forest temple). We already know either Isle or Prarie exported some type of power source and that Forest did so as well (from the animation when the door to the Forest temple opens). These power sources lasted an extremely long time, as they power almost everything in the game that isn't powered by light such as the lift in Vault and the majority of the Forest temple. So, that would explain the krill still functioning without food, the reason for it's "spotlight" and it's appearance as well as prevalence in Wasteland.
What are the monsters in fire trial?
I say they’re baby krill
but most others here say that they’re probably creatures created solely for the purpose of the trial
Always remember….
omg its skruncle weujinkle
That fat dolphin is always getting me... I wanna turn into a big phat dolphin! Please let me turn into a big phat dolphin
Write that down!

Fat dolphin bird
Pet fat dolphin bird
Ridable fat dolphin bird

I agree with all of those
Imagine if we could have a fox made of clouds/light as future pet

Any theories for next season judging from the trailer and image teaser?
Let me guess: a group of hermits/ monks who like birds reside in this cove. However, something is going wrong with the bird cove, so you need to investigate and fix it.
pay your debt
Spirits learning how to fly. Cliffyeeting involved.
We will get definitive proof spirits are completely flightless. But also that they rode dragons mantas.
Granted we actually already have a manta rider spirit. More the merrier geez I hope
🎐
I have a theory that
||Eden king lives in the Eden castle||
You know when you honk and you see that icon that tells you the location of where you need to be?
If your objective is right in front of you, you can see a spike of light along with it
Do you know where else we see such a configuration? Power diamond in Eden – the backdrop against the statues trying to reach it
Combine with the message you see as you enter Eden – "Beyond this door, the Light awaits"…as if the Light were an entity.
I think the symbol represents the power diamond, the dot inside it shows the child trapped inside the diamond (I suspect that's the Eden elder). The spike of light shows the light that takes you to the ascent – you know the light that helps you fly up after you hug that child?
Ideas?
Does Skykids can see?? Bc when you use the "no mask" you have your eyes closed , and also basically the only way to recognize others is by ecolocation and strong light sources at short distances
I don't think they can. I think they're guided by their inner light.
Occasional honks are a way to invoke that light when the surroundings don't seem too obvious.
Of course, spirits and elders contradict that
Spirits and Elders are a better form of skykids , maybe they are more like humans with light power
If king was in the game, I bet the eden crown would be the Eden elder hair
Actually somr ytber said its a turtle skull cuz it looks more like a real turtle skull cx
So there might've been giant light turtles flying around in Sky?
According to the ytber there were a lot of different species cx
Want me to send the link of the vid?
Wait i dont think this was it hold on
i wonder why recharging your light reveals scales
It's ok
Golden Wasteland fact! : Its the ONLY realm to MENTION Vault of Knowledge in its description
The devs did confirmed the skull is inspired by turtle’s and the body is yknow, whales
That really gave me a lot to think. It seems connected, right? Still not sure how the diamond itself comes into play.
Between bird or Moth... Furry furry kids
Oooo i see cx
I have an idea. Please ping me to remind me to share it.
sure - I'm eager to hear :Dc
does anyone know what the pile of bones at the final part of Hidden Forest is? It doesn't look like most creatures in the game
Prolly chonk boy from the cave thing
i call it fish (i know it's a whale-) but I've always been thinking like-
how did it get there? Stranded maybe, but how?
So referring to Forest Elder's cutscene.
They hold fragments; they can't build...something.
Skykid appears with their light,
Light is forcefully snatched.
I think that's the problem. The diamonds are associated with the fall of Sky. They are built using Light stolen from a child - and I think it can be considered an offense to do that.
That triggered a chain of events that corrupted Eden, some Light creatures turned into krills, and the Eden Elder got trapped inside the big diamond in the final part.
The diamonds will forever require light to be fed into them - either by a Skykid, or in the case of the huge diamond that helps spirits ascend, the sheer power comes from the most important of all Light sources: the Eden Elder themselves.
Maybe the Elder encouraged the creation of the Power Diamond? (Vault Elder cutscene indicates it)
A document also states that Forest is associated with the creation of technology - and a consequence of hurting the surroundings to do that. So I think it fits in fairly well with my interpretation.
Jesus imagine a wipeout of entire Skid populations 👀
I like that theory. I always wondered about the forest cut scene. I agree it's odd and it sure is not as welcoming as some of the other realms. 🤔
For some reason I have a feeling that skykids and their light are not only fuel to the diamonds but are somehow... dunno... a result of them?
It's a little far fetched but what if they and the diamonds are part of the same original form of energy? And with the one diamond in Eden collapsing or getting corrupted others shattered as well - resulting in fragments - that we now call skykids. I'm not sure if it all sums up, though.
Light creatures can be an alternative
Umm i think it's kinda ridiculous but does all belonging spirit died because they're lost in the realms and can't go home to eat their dinner?
Yes
But then why there's boogie kid and confetti girl in sparkle parents memory? Then it means the memory didn't really record the last moment of those spirits 🤔
true - they've probably been around before
It could be some random memory? but it's weird then that we have to light a statue (that shares some similarities with those in eden) at the end of every memory... it kinda implies it's a spirit's last memory and that they 'died at that place'? But I'm really lost here ?_?
My guess is that those "scales" are actually meant to mimic feather patterns, especially considering how some of the idle-stretching animations make the sky kids look quite bird-like with how the cape also poses along with their arms
I actually saw another question like the one about our scales, and someone gave an interesting fact that butterflies have scales on their wings actually, so our light could be mimicking butterfly wing scales
true.
I wonder if skykids represents angels. They have wings, they interact with mortals, save souls and able to delve into the depths of hell but still able to ascend to heaven with the souls of mortals they helped.
Either that, or skykids have fairy wings for capes and are part golem
(this is mostly a joke theory, I have no evidence to support this)
Orbit ?
Empyrean Heaven?
I'll look into it.
It is a vaguely familiar to Dante's paradise.
That's an engraving for Dante's Paradiso yes ! Going to Orbit with all the mantas and sky kids spinning around an orb made me think about that, so as much as I am partial to applying christianity to stuff, I think the comparison to angels isn't far-fetched.
(admittedly angels aren't exclusive to christianity but that's generally the most popular religion they are associated with by the predominantly american fanbase here)
same here.
Trying to remain objective in addition to looking at christianity, I looked at hinduism, , hebrewism , mexican, silam and mayan culutres and religion.
While the game mostly has a universal approach to divine deities, or beings that create life and light. There are hints to real world influences that hopefully can shed light on teh mystery of the world.
That is the mage theory I was doing, gathering theories of the game (while giving credit where credit is due, mind you) as well as looking for research material that can be connected to the game.
Come to think of it, I neglected the roman(or greek, they are close) mythology, and eastern mythology. Will add them to my notes 🪶
You will be surprised by how similar Celtic and Hindu beliefs are ! Reincarnation, multifaceted gods, "as above, so below" logic...
So it's super cool to see a glimpse of the real world inspiration despite not knowing much about Indian religions lol
_ _
About romans and greeks, I suggest you look up duality/twin symbolism in Janus (roman god of thresholds and new year) and the dioscuri (greek demigods patrons of sports and often depicted on doors), the Valley becomes very, very interesting.
Because then, that explains the separation between the first and last three realms; Isle is the threshold to the kingdom, Valley is the threshold to when honk gets real.
Do you think the reason we can't get bows or axes is because the dismayed hunter and apologetic lumberjack saw we were kids and went "ABSOLUTELY NOT" ?
Don't hand dangerous tools to children, folks, it's for their safety !
Same with the wasteland elder spear? But they gave us a big stick!
But Skykids are made of rocks so the most that can happen is bonk bonk bonk
Spirit: "we would never let skykids have any weapons!"
Skykids: hides the rapier swords they got from the Prince/
Have you tried YouTube? There might be videos or a series of videos
oh yeah
i guess the best bet is crop it out from their ehr
Ill make videos talking about theories of sky , i have to try , i really like this lore
I actually would like to cut a krill in half with that
I had a dream the story of the new season was that the spirits went broke and needed you to help them run a garage sale. And I was ultra disappointed at such a silly premise.
(comeing from a hindu)
I think the the glowing gate at heaven in eden symbolises how we become the one with the light blurring all the boundaries by the light dissolving all the duality becoming the one (brahma the one in Hinduism)
But brahma decides to become dual again so he can experience the life again as limited being with boundaries...why? Cuz its just fun to play the game of life i guess( what we do as sky kids )
( Hope it doesn't sound preachy i just see the correlation)
Plot twist : sky religion is a combination of every existent religion on earth
It is not preachy, you are ok.
Thank your for sharing 🙂
Supposedly the purpose of us skykids is to gather winged light and save the spirits.
We find them, help them by reliving their memories, get to know them (via trading), and then go to orbit where you see them ascending with you. Only the ones you gave ascension candles will appear in Orbit to help you with your next life.
That is as far as I understand it.
The history and lore behind it is mostly optional knowledge for players to discuss.
Nicely said 😊
Yeah, you get the message "Ascended spirits will help you in the next life" or something like that
I personally don't think there's anything wrong with correlating Sky with mythology or religion. Because Eden itself is such a huge Biblical reference that it can't be ignored. Plus in the Vault cutscene you can see a figure opening their mouth wide to something – it's all ominous and it reminded me of the original sin.
I don't think that's a coincidence. So correlation with religion is okay in my book…
…As long as we still stay nice about it
That was me! Butterfly and moth wings are made up of tiny scales of chiton. They look REALLY cool if you look up photos of them up close (yes this is real!) However, they’re probably also inspired by feathers like @orchid crypt said. :)
That is what makes it fun to make theories of in Sky. 🙂
Especially for people studying academic art, the game is a lot like a work of art. Chock full of content to analyse and discuss about.
For a game that want to bring people together, they sure did cover virtually every topic possible for people to relate with.
True.
Perhaps both, since the texture is similar to each other in the game.
Wings, as far as understand them in the game, represent transformation like that of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. How the skykid can come in a wide variety of colours but still start out with basic form. And how the wings are delicate and light, being that they can be lost when the skykid takes enough damage.
There was also concept art that showed this. 🙂 ⤴️
hi just a reminder to keep safe on discord with unsafe links.
I am not sure if I am allowed to share the details, but please keep safe out there folks.
Totally off topic thing and will probably take some time to write and probably makes little sense. But I have a theory, the sky kids and adults before us could not fly. Yes so do have capes but when you relive that memory do you every see them fly. Most of the time I see them using other thing for flying (example backflipping champion and vain man) both are seen in the air, yet both are using items such as mantas and boats. Part of it is the winged light as in they more than likely didn't exist then. Also maybe as another generation that was not affected by what caused the end of the past civilization we got it as a gift to help fix the past. Let me know what you guys think about it.
I wrote this on my phone sorry about grammer
grammar looks ok, bud 🙂
It is an curious detail how ancestors cannot fly, though can use flying boats, mantas, and wear capes (but the capes dont seem to help with flying).
The exception to that would be the spirits flying though space up to orbit. Which may mean that as spirits they can fly (like most ghosts do, lol), however while alive, they do not, which shows in their memories.
If I recall correctly, it is the isl elder that used to grant flight to skykids, now it is the children of the light. Perhaps the gift of flight is unique to skykids given they are the only ones that seem to be able to interact with and benefit from the gift from children of light seen throughout the realms.
Which makes me wonder what children of light are exactly.
Would they be only visible to skykids? Are they gifts from the Megabird that skykids have to to find and claim from?
I have not idea
I had an idea that some winged lights are like previous sky kids, some of the places you can find winged lights are like hiding spots, like what a kid would do if they felt danger. If that makes sense.
I also noticed that in the memory of follow (I forgot the name) on isle points to a sky kid on the ground which means all (probably) skykids where born there once. And the home space seems to be used as the new place, as I'd the land there is no longer inhabitable or is not safe for skykids to be born safely.
I also wanted to say something about the Vault being a dream idea.
The transition to every realm is fairly seamless. No screen blackouts in between.
But between Wasteland to Vault, you get a blackout. In a lot of media, a blackout clearing to a new scene is used to indicate a dream state. What if that's the case here?
On that note, a question: has anyone tried going back to the previous realm after reaching the social space of a new realm? Like fly back from Prairie to Isle or from Wasteland to Valley? Are there specific realm pairs you can do that for?
I may be totally incorrect about my theories and ideas.
I have tried to go in-between realms the only one you can do that I have tested is Prarie, even then you can't make it back to the temple with out hitting a wind wall.
NO THAT'S ACTUALLY REALLY COOL BECAUSE
You end up in Orbit as a light silhouette (with borrowed wings), correct ? And you're one light silhouette singing in unison with many others, as well as mantas and ancestor spirits.
And then you end up at the gate, ready to split from that whole to do your mission again.
In that sense, you're kind of like a drop of water that ascended from the sea with the clouds, fell from the skies as rain and joins the sea back through a river. It's a cycle. You're part of a whole.
Brahma, Lug's cauldron (which contains all the souls that died and have yet to be reborn) and the wheel of [insert cycles such as life, seasons and water], all of these concepts are what I think inspired the megabird in that game. Something that's both one and many, that is the sea to the drops of water our sky kids are.
Megabird might not be sentient the way we, the ancestors or even the elders might be (though I headcanon the latter group are at least akin to demigods), but it's the personification of the Sky universe and the way it moves in cycles. We might only be a revolution of it, but us sky kids are part of this.
I follow what you are saying.
Though digress (agree to disagree) because there are only 63 statues in eden. Even during the Little Prince's quest, the amount of winged light given does not change.
I noticed one statue would not take winged light, then quickly moved on. Going off a hunch, I watched a stream with someone doing the quest and after keeping track of statues, there was also a statue that did not want to take winged light. I may be wrong on this regard due to bias, though would like to urge folks that can complete eden in one run to confirm.
Back to the winged light from children of light being past skykids. The amount of statues do not change, though the amount of winged light does go up after every season. It could be souls of skykids despite the statues, though there is very little information to work with for them.
So why is there floating creatures in the golden wasteland and why did it become a wasteland l need to know
Just want to add on that orbit is suggested to be a holy place.
There is concept art that discussed using water as the floor to symbolise the place being divine, or holy. Either because people can walk on the water, or how the vastness of a flat plane of water makes the place feel endless. Water is fluid and can be moulded. It also subtly links to the biblical text on how God moved over still water while creating the world, and how Jesus walks on water.
For a being known to create life and produce light with flame, and supposedly lives in a far away realm in outer space. The realm the skykids end up in is tranquil in and harmony. Where the warmth of light and the coolness of the deep blue waters are in a balance.
Just gonna say I really love this angle! While there could be some Christianity-based aesthetics found in the lore, I really think the game’s focus on rebirth and cycles is a lot more in line with the cycle of samsara from Hinduism.
Gosh looking at graphs like this makes me want to delve deeper into the process of making Sky, I am crazy for concept design
llol, that is what is called a rabbit hole.
U can go back to Valley from GW social space, I've done it before
You can fly up the wind wall, all you have to do is fly high above the temple!
idk if you will see this but I think this could make sense considering the symbols on capes are stars but could also be seen as diamonds or the eden elders head
frog
Froggy
So the other day when we have to relieve this particular spirit I can't help but to think the prayer stone is also a tombstone
It seems off but its been in the back of my head for some time
Ooo
is the rain in forest normal rainwater or something else?
Idk, imo it’s like acid rain
But that’s just a theory, A SKY THEORY
Why does the Stretching Guru float in some of their memories
thats what happens when you get lvl 100 in yoga skill
hello! would anyone like to see me ramble about what could possibly happen in eden?
yes
alright this will take a while
so considering that the ruins of the city are in the eye of eden, there could be a chance that some of the ruins are on the other side of the big floating crystal. This could be like the other half of the eden castle we see while going into orbit, with the king in the centre. maybe at some point in the game we can trigger a cut-scene where our character finds something that allows them to travel through the storm without loosing that many winged light. and as @hushed steeple said, maybe we can try to save the king by giving him all our winged light. The outcome could be either we save the king but die in the process to be reborn again, only this time they see the kingdom before it fell like in the nintendo switch trailer, OR we fail and the king tries to kill us as the storm follows, to be reborn again and repeat the cycle. Outcomes could depend if we found the thing that allows us to pass through the storm or not, since we sometimes have at least a few wings when we get to the wind barrier in eye of eden
but that's just a theory, it would be a pain to implement it into the game if it were cannon
Sky is technically an MORPG but with no combat
If it does have combat i'd rather have it in a fun way. Perhaps with toy swords and magic staffs. And as a mini game thats triggered through emotes or something. Although i believe the game is fine without it
I can think of a few lore reasons for it, but I don't wanna say it until I narrow down that it isn't for technical reasons.
So as you know, most of the props that can be used in share spaces come in a backpack with an Assembly logo on it. However, the logo is still there even if the props aren't from Assembly (the Summer props have it)
Is it hard for TGC to remove the logo from the bag model? Or would doing so add another asset to the game that would add unnecessary data? I don't know much about game development.
I’m almost positive this is a technical asset issue
ah, what kind of asset issues are there? (i dont know any ;/)
Well I’m not sure entirely, but just judging that they must have already had the model of the same bag already, it was probably the most convenient for them to reuse from a game design perspective
It’s also easier to just re-use the bag rather than have to create new models that can be attached to the skykid’s back
Yeah, removing the logo would create an unnecessary asset? Is that it?
Oh no. An “asset” refers to any item or object/environment in the game. The bag is already it’s own asset, and I assume that removing the symbol is either A.) more difficult than it seems, somehow, or more likely B.) it’s not a major priority and most devs are probably busy working on new upcoming items.
you know what would be great? if we could change the color of the assembly bag. I don't mind the bag existing, since the devs have been adding a lot of props lately and it must be a lot of work to model them. but the blue bag clashes with a lot of outfits, so I would love to see options for the bag's color! they could be based on the colored capes from the base game.
Well, I guess that's the Doylist (out-of-universe/realistic) reason then!
What if there were also Watsonian (fitting with the in-universe story) reasons? (aka lore)
The Assembly Treehouse is headquarters for a furniture business, and spirits who have shared space props paid for Assembly to commission them.
The Assembly Kids created Shared Spaces. (patent pending)
Wait a minute this is just IkeAssembly propaganda isnt it
HAH, it could be I guess! Honestly I don’t mind because so far Assembly cosmetics are my favorite in the game
Hey do u think skykids could go back in time
Maybe its a toy sword cx
In the 2010 TLP "sequel", the sword is a light sword used to "draw" mounts/helpful fantasy creatures.
(take this with a truckload of salt as far as I've seen the TLP's sequel is really bad most of the characters are out of character and the Rose is so cursed she isn't even beautiful)
are you sure?
If I had a dollar for every realm with specific birds depicted, I would have 3 dollars, but that's still pretty interesting...
Prairie: sparrow (sparrow geoglyph - bird nest)
Forest: eagle (eagle's nest - boneyard)
Valley: swallow (swallow monument - citadel) though there's a sparrow geoglyph too, right where the manta whisperer spirit can be found
And like, I could argue it's to symbolize migration, but sparrows aren't that migratory (song sparrows are but even then they only do so on the northernmost latitudes to avoid too harsh winters)...
No 😂 hence why i said maybe
This might be a stretch, though the home shrine in the forgotten ark area (Golden Wasteland) has scale, feather pattern painted on it.
you have to take me there immediately
Here it is.
Apologies for the brightness
OH THE HOME SHRINE
Reading comprehension: 0
But yeah, I think that's on all of them unfortunately :/
If I were to choose a bird for wastelands, I'd say hummingbird.
AH! My eyes!
I doubt it, this is the only one I have seen do this.
I am not sure if you are counting the old bird shrines too.
There is one in forest (near the bridges in the boneyard area), and another in Wasteland (just beyond the destroyed building in front of the temple in the battlefield area).
lol, I think your are 2-3 dollars richer now, @rigid mural.
Now I gotta try all the home shrines huh
I did mention specific birds tho, so no, I'm not richer
if you want to. I think the reason that one in forgotten ark is like that is because it is right next to the ark. So, someone must have painted on it. (perhaps the nodding spirit?)
Nodding spirit is so valid, I want their autograph. Thank you for the lore
what if the old home shrine is a symbol of hope?
Which would make it a dove.
Dove is a pretty western symbol I feel, other cultures have different birds for hope.
I like how ur pfp is a bird pokemon XD
A lot of positive symbols are shared among most birds tbh, from "heaven" to "peace" or "joy", although some more than others. Eagles are seen as celestial messengers, songbirds can be conflated into an almost monolithic group with strong freedom/joy/creativity symbolism.
Of course there's some exceptions but even then, vultures and ravens got very similar symbolism, with the death and war omens, and still have some overlap with other more "agressive" birds like raptors.
lol, I am sorry to keep adding on to this.
The dove has been a symbol of peace and innocence for thousands of years in many different cultures. In ancient Greek mythology it was a symbol of love and the renewal of life and in ancient Japan a dove carrying a sword symbolised the end of war. Early Christians portrayed baptism accompanied by a dove, often on their sepulchres and in the story of Noah in the Bible, when the flood waters receded, Noah sent out a dove which returned with an olive leaf, to show that the Biblical flood was over and that life had returned to Earth. Ever since, in the Christian faith, the dove has symbolised deliverance and God’s forgiveness.
https://www.thehistorypress.co.uk/articles/peace-symbols-through-history/
I have not thought about it as a western symbol, I assumed it was universal.
Here is something interesting about this text and the old shrines in the game.
Unless I am mistaken, there are only two of the old home shrines left in sky currently (in forest and wasteland). Both of them are in or near water, and both are in an area where skykids are hurt by said water (or rain).
I might not dare go on to spirits and their bird symbology just yet XD
There might be more of them in the next season if the name is season of Flight.
Official, published poster for the new season shows the spirit with a bird on their head, doubt you're spoiling much saying there's gonna be avian themes
But yeah the proximity to water is very interesting too, see our convo about Orbit and what it's watery surface meant.
...Perhaps there's something about once pure water becoming polluted, defacing the shrines and heralding societal collapse.
very likely so!
Wasteland features pipes with tar like gunk pouring out of them and polluting the waters. Of all the realms, Wasteland seemed to have done the most damage.
The good thing about water is, it can evaporate. Given enough time, an area can heal and recover. The bigger question is though, how long it would take. 🕚
I like how areas about the clouds tend to have less pollution, and lower down, darkness and pollution gets worse. Especially where it is near the storm.
Surprisingly, vault is still somehow the least affected by darkness!
I was dissapointed to see the krill in the starry desert is gone. The thing was OOB to start with and it would make complete sense for it to be there since we are so close to Eden!
Should I send a bug report about this? Because that windy part in starry desert feels less significant if there are no krill it be seen. Otherwise there is just a lot of wind, old bones and a sandy well (with no water in it, mind you...)
If all the water in Wasteland evaporated, you'd be left with all the nasty oil. How hard that would be to clean up is unknown.
hii im new to lore is there any place I can read the whole thing? I want to know more about a char my friend told me about, he said their name was megabird 😄
Here
Here’s a doc Hello new Lore Moff!
Read this short document to get started! Once you’ve read this, check out pins for more information.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/18B1-SKG3toG0oH0VhOWC5o-cG9u0STAN92QvmbhTDto/edit
credits to Bricky
You should learn more about the King too
King Propaganda will love to know your place 😊
We praise the King and do other stuff like send propagada etc. A lot of the people here are part of it
ok but why would you praise king when you have megabird
still, i want to know more about him since ive never heard of him before
He’s basically Sky’s monarch who helped with the civilization’s technological advancements, and other stuff. It’s speculated that he’s trapped in the Eden Diamond nowadays (aka that thing you see in Eden)
ok
i read the document again and apparently power diamonds caused the end of the kingdom? they seem adavanced, and if king helped with technology that means he technically caused the end of the sky kingdom, right?????
well, yes…
then i dont like king, he killed my favourite spirits ☹️
At the bright side: You can steal their clothes, if it wasn’t for the King 😁
Anyways, aside from that wth happened to lore chat. I’ve been away and Megan Propaganda has spread
Yea…
Smh smh, why like a birb who let their creations die when u have King that has turrets that can shoot lazarbeams
It’s cooler than a birb
In my defence, I'm biased.
true but unless hes likeable or attractive im not changing my mind, those spirits still died
It’s time to unleash fanarts…also, how is megabirb even hot- (okay, tbh they are made of stars (prolly))
Imagine a field of tar.
That would be like sky's version of the swamp of sadness.
You’re next.
are the fanarts of him attractive?? 😳
where can i find them-
Wait, lemme just dm you links cause posting fanarts are illegal here
yes please
Lmao
what is resh’s back-story?
We don’t know since canon lore sucks
Tho there are theories
insert tragic Resh backstory
HIS PARENTS WEREN’T EVEN THERE WHEN HE WAS BORNNNN
(If you know the reference, that’s cool)
Yeah... evaporating all the water from Wasteland would probably make things worse...
Best to clean it up by decantation
😁
we’re coming for you
also what do you call people who support the megabird?
Bold of you to assume I fear you, death or god.
||Megan Supporters||
then im a megan supporter 😄
Bruh
Fail Resh can't even win a popularity contest against a bird. Maybe the elders trapped him in Eden because he was so cringe.
Bold of you to assume that the elders trapped him in Eden when the canon doc didn’t say anything about that
Is this also in the pins?
No
Nah but that's in the concept lore
concept lore tho
Oh ya, didn’t notice that. But I will get you next time Vela, for… YOU ARE NOT INMUNE TO PROPAGANDA
XD
Another observation to consider: The toll of the Eden bell

One of the tolls
is visible above the portal to Isle of Dawn
We see a prone child - similar to the children who we get our WL from - in a spirit cutscene
The
spirit cave murals have hints of Isle elder and Eden in the backdrop
The Isle Elder knows something
Atleast people actually draw him
Megabird got a canon appearance.
So does Resh
Me tryna search for vids about sky lore
Are you new?
frog
juggler likes frogs :D
are you a megabird supporter too? 😮
whose worse: a war criminal that caused a kingdom to both prosper and die, or an apparent mutilated light bird that couldve prevented it all by not yeeting its subjects in the first place
choose your poison
So true grandpa-fetuwus
in short:
Who is worse?
a divine being that made all of life and light
VS
One of its powerful creations tried to rise to the top and sent the world into darkness
Well tbh, we don’t know if Megabirb is a deity (sure, concept arts but eh) they might be just a cluster of galaxies
Soooo, worship King who is actually alive instead of a cluster of galaxies :)))
Okay but the king got corrupted
So maybe he wasn’t in control?? like at all???
This
By who? Megabird?
the king who is no longer physically present nor cannot be saved.
I'd rather stick to the galactic pheonix like bird.
Besides, there are some hints to the megabird being worshipped. However there is as little evidence to support it as there is of what the king looked like. (As far as my notes go on that front at least).
Okay but like if King haven’t existed then skids (prolly) wouldn’t exists
by darkstone. The orbs and diamonds used to advance in technology.
Even though the dark material is found naturally (or used to be the case), based on concept art and some hints from in game events. The dark stone can become corrupted and steal all light within range of it (as seen with the red rocks in eden).
Hey do u guys think skykids' soul can leave their bodies to do stuff n then rêjoin their bodies?
Like y'know how when u meditate or smth, take example the trial, ur skiddo appears in the trial zone and then they get some power after the trial but then when they get back they're just normal skiddo, like, im thinkin if it's like some dreamlike status and then they woke up from the "dream"
Well that’s just a theory, we don’t know how King got corrupted or did he even become corrupted
lol, same can be said about the megabird.
If he used to rule over Eden, his realm is the only one with corrupted rocks. Practically no diamond technology works there anymore and everything is crumbling away to the wind.
His mural shows him holding an orb, while thunder can be heard either as the mural comes up, or shortly thereafter. The game uses thunder to represent darkness as seen at the very start with the cave murals in the introduction.
Oh, and I think ive seen a concept art about darkstone, but its really low graphics-
But I do remember reading "Darkstones can cause corruption" im gonna double check if it really says that
Mmmmmm, good point. King is still superior tho than fried chicken
Found it (sorry for low graphics)
Hi guys
AAA
the lore gets thicker and thicker
sorry for missing your message.
There is a possibility that skykids may be able to enter mental spaces, though I have not heard a lot about it on the channel (though I could be dead wrong).
Meditation does seem to allow skykids access to different areas they either cannot reach through normal means, or the area is not of the physical world (i.e a spiritual plane, or a mental shared space).
I like your thinking with the trails being possibly either a mental space, or perhaps a memory the skykid is mentally reliving. Since their capes are not with them during these quests and it is impossible to die there. That may also explain why the place looks so devoid of colour, as if either the memory is degraded and parts of the area has become fragmented or forgotten.
Oh ya, and shared spaces
considering that they can enter their mind and form furnishing with the shared spaces, this seems most likely
Didnt God give us a will of our own? So if you looke at megabird like theyre a god then i guess they gave the spirits a will of their own too
Wait, let me do that flashback monologue
Ah, I remember the old days of lore chat where there were no Megan supporters…how I miss the days
/j /lh /gen /plsdontkrillme
Im not really a supporter of anything tho
the war criminal?
skykids seem to have unique abilities/powers but are either non-existant or very weak when they are alone. (such as sparkling emotes, lighting candles, able to change cosmetics etc.)
But when they work together or use something to help them, their powers are more effective such as with shared spaces allowing skykids to share their props, create fireworks, and (in theory) have a stronger light when they put their lights (candles) together.
There were concept art that suggested the skykids had to work together to face dark creatures, though that feature supposedly did not make it to the final game, other than the dark plants using a similar mechanic where skykids had to work together to burn down.
But i also think that skids could also time travel, like, take that final cutscene in dream season where u danced with the gurl
wat is that relevant about wat i said
it may be a possibility, but I think it's more like the skids are in the shoes of someone else in that time, like there could be someone who danced with the dreams girl but when we relive the memory it's us in the role of that person
Skids gettin close to a gurl meanwhile us hoomans:
Now that is a frequent debate.
Time does seem to have an affect on the world, seeing how the realms are set to specific times that only moves forward as the skykid progresses through the realm. And can even go backwards as skykid were to backtrack.
That said, I am not against that idea of skykids being time travellers. Though am unsure on how to build a proper case for it, more so for it to be used with other theories without creating paradoxies.
Time is weird like that, lol.
I mean a thing i notice is that u enter cave of prophecies thru a portal and not normal thing, like, some kinda time rift
Looks like it, and the cave itself is separated from the rest of the world by a large ravine
And it's also quite dark like night in there, too
That its the responsibility of the spirits and king to either act right or wrong
if there were people going in and out, wouldn't there remains of a bridge or a broken boat somewhere? or is it more disturbing than that?
dont get me wrong, both of them had faults; the bird wouldve prevented the kingdom to prosper and die, but that doesnt mean the spirits couldnt have done it themselves, the king couldve been more competent as to not let his subjects that he helped prosper significantly to only let it go to ruins and crumble
everything was a mistake, goes both ways in sky and irl, wat matters now is wat they could control and couldve prevented
Also do u think fossilization happens in sky? Cuz i noticed the bones in wasteland n stuff
true.
You reach new areas through holes in the grounds, in the clouds, stone arches with and without portals, with boats and even through meditation shrines.
Either that is the magic of the world of sky, or...
hm...
That might also work with the time theory since time is not normal, it would be possible for time rifts to be a thing
yes, the trees in forest are infact petrified in some way
did the prophets know that they were going to die, and then set up the time rift to preserve the cave while their souls remain trapped inside? or did they die trying to escape?
Yes
is there a group for megan supporters?
probably, but i bet they dont like pizza there
gasp
why not?
idk ask them
Hi
I have so many questions for what happened with the cave of prophecies now, it seems like it was perfectly preserved with plants, water and what not, yet if it were a place where people would go in and out to either learn or take the trials there is no way to go in since the entrance has a ravine
welp.
I am not with the king.
And frankly dont mind pizza.
Perhaps the megabird group is either very secretive, or more or less everywhere, so no need to gather in one gorup.
choose ur poison
What if it's a ceremony zone where they sacrificed ppl to risk their lives in the trials in order to get the elements to grant them with their rewards?

Mmm chonkeh feesh
if a megan supporter sees this, can you invite me to the group?
the way u put it, i thought ur saying its like a doomsday bunker, but the entrance of prophecy is a portal
That is one big chonky whale-

If there is one, I'll let you know, lol.
Through ancient rituals ofc
sorry too much made in abyss
the drawings on the walls seem to point to that, and one of the prophet's memories include other spirits sitting around the area where the season guide stands, so I think they lure spirits in with false intentions to teach, and when no one is looking they make them do the trials
Dang that suddenly got dark real fast
tysm
thats a morbidly new one, i like it
(is so grateful Skykids have the ability to respawn)
my guess is that the portal is like entering a memory of sorts, the entrance where you first see the ravine is like what's left, while the rest are the combined memories of everyone who lived or died in that cave
Ye like, it did felt like they spent their lives inside a cave away from civillization
water prophet's hint was that she likes the silence, only makes sense that they hide away while luring others to take the trials
Hint?
the hint before water prophet was revealed as ts
Eh?
the day before a ts arrives, Ash the concept artist will give us a few hints about the ts, while they have no impact about the ts that's coming they still tell us about the spirit's personality. for water prophet, one hint said that she likes the silence.
I'll continue rambling about my cave of prophecies theories another day, I can barely think right now
I won't interfere much
I have a way to be immune to propaganda, it's called blindfold
I'm gonna sell them to the Megan supporters for 20 candles
Call me greedy=200 candles
no thanks I am good.
The light from the last run to eden did the job.
i made a server for megan supporters 😄
I kinda wanna get the job as a tax collector for the server
I can't choose sides I just know the get Resh'd vid is amazing.
alright im going to invite you
I have a tinfoil sword don't you dare go near him
As if that’s gonna stop me lmao
uh oh
😀
Hello I want join
So you are a double agent huh?
You do know that they left, right?

I don't know why it's bad,the taxes are fair
Nooooooo
No I’m an optometrist
Also lemme innnnnn
Ok
Ooooh i see

Hello, is there like, a compilation of everyone’s theories? It’s been a while since I visted this channel
BOOP, ITS BEEN A LONG TIMEEEE
Hellooo
Anyway, we don’t have any docs compiling uh yknow theories (exclude Theory Vault, but nobody has written any theories there, sadly)
Oof that’s sad. I wanna know theories about Assembly and Little Prince, since I’m not much active at that time
Ohh, is the slowmode taken down?
Now I cant message?
Nvm, Discord glitched
Oof
I have a question though. I’m planning on making my skykid avatar into an OC and her being able to transform into King seems cool. Or is there a much better backstory, like other Spirits and stuff?
Stephen King ??? /j
That's your oc, do what you want. You might be interested in the theory that sky kids are all shards of the prince or king !
Hmmm, interesting. I just feel like a lot of people base their characters into King, so I’m hesitating
This is the lore chat...
Then where do i send the treaty?
Questions the TGC Ver. of TLP's Ending raises:
Is TLP a skykid, or at least a light-affiliated creature? Why does Winged Light help him, even though he isn't a skykid?
HOW is TLP connected to light? He recharges us in some quests, but the krill's eye does not turn red when they make eye contact. Is TLP some kind of creature that can absorb light whenever it wants to, kind of like a sentient solar panel?
When he does get back, how does he uproot those L A R G E baobabs?
How does the Rose get repetaled? They looked to be full-bloom in the last shot?
I think in the first quest of the little prince season TLP holds our hand, and if he is able to adapt to a world's environment he might have held our skid's hand to sorta copy a little bit of their abilities while also seemingly being able to stop the krills from spotting him (please note that I've never read The Little Prince so I have no idea what happens in the book)
The little prince is an anomaly of sky.
He is a human with his own abailities that he brought over from his world.
He might be affiliated with light based on his innocent, naive personality and unwavering optimism.
it is unclear whatchappens when the prince goes back to his planet.
The book does not say anything directly about it either.
I think jn both cases, it would depend on if the readers believe the little prince and keep their childhood imagination alive. Or accept he is dead and then become a grown up.
Isn't it supposed to be clear in this version of the ending tho? TLP is indeed with his rose, what's uncertain is if it's together in death or together in life.
Not sure.
The book has an open ending so that the reader can decide.
That is what I understand to why the book leaves it up for debate.
On the one hand, the pilot does hear laughing among the stars. But realistically, the little prince cannot exist. Which is what seperstes adults from children mentally.
I mean...
Existential crisis: Does TGC's ending really provide closure? Will they make an exception to "dont reveal too much lore" for collab content?
you may have to read the book to decide for yourself.
Hope this helps.
. . .
w e l l t h e n
OkFruityHasToGoSleepNowGoodbye!
Well it’s set in vault and we assume that everything before the end portal room/exit is a dream Which may make TLP just a dream
I was thinking about why glass isnt in sky kingdom when their entire way of life revolves around fire and they got plenty of sand. Course there was more to primitive glass making. Maybe they lacked the flux needed to soften the sand.
perhaps...
Perhaps that is intentional to give a rough guide to how far back in history sky takes place. If glass was not never invented, then other inventions might not also exist such as gunpowder, complex gear systems, steam engines, electricity etc.
🪶?
Maybe the glass shattered... some frequencies can cause that. Maybe the Eden cataclysm was loud.
…so are the clear “pyramids” in some of the 2p doors quartz? Actual diamond? Diamonds have a natural octahedral crystal shape, but quartz wants to grow in hexagonal columns, sometimes tipped w hexagonal pyramids (i.e. not square)
They could've been shaped by the ancestors that way, as the Darkstone on the ppl in Eden, in Stormlock looks quite different
Yeah they would have been darkstone. Glass not being in sky is a dev thing, when they wanted to go say why the potion bottle looks like a potion bottle
multi-purpose diamonds, u dont want ur windows be absorbing light and activating appliances by itself tho
A little headcanon I have but the manta we save in forest when we candle run is the same manta that follows us and regenerates our light in forest, valley (I think theres a manta that regens our light in there) and GW(?) idk why but I like it, as if we saved the manta and it just started following us and helping us regenerating our light, like a little friend for the adventure :))
||But then later on in GW it gets krilled by the first krill we see||
the whale u first encounter in hidden cavern accompanies u all the way too btw
the whale in the cavern is the same one that bonks the building to make way for u in orbit

Ohhh ok
Send it to me
OH NO THE SUN IS SHINING AND NOW MY MICROWAVE NEAR THE WINDOW'S ON OVERDRIVE HELP
At one point in LA beta it went across the title screen too. Hum. Shame its journey is shortened to halfway.
thats the future right there, u dont need them solar panels when u have solar windows
Ok
actually, solar windows already exist
its the future then, time flies so fast
Lmao
Actually wanted to share this picture of Megabird and what appear to be Skykids that I took of the overhead sky in Orbit
onion
Frog
what are skykids made of?
nothing of certainty, but i remember a dev quote about us being some sort of clay and our masks being made of stone
i see,, tysm!
I wonder why these crystals do not burn when the mechanism itself turns on
Is that under the bridge in Sunny Forest?
My guess is they're just decoration
You know how when you find something novel and it amazes you? And you want to surround yourself with it? I think that's the case here with the power diamonds too.
Of course when they were invented, the Elders and spirits didn't know that would be their doom.
Oh, thank you!
Those diamonds might not need to glow while used to lift and move stone.
I am not sure why they don't glow, though do understand most floating platforms uses diamonds.
The broken bridge in the bone yard (outside of the forest temple) also have diamonds under them.
Oh, I don't see diamonds under. Thanks!
I always thought that whale was stuck there, unable to get out of the Caverns
I don’t know if you noticed that after the cut scene in the temple of the forest, blue lights begin to stand out at the golden mechanism, which is highlighted by the statue of the star from the Chazon Prince. Maybe something like this is built into this mechanism
may I know what you mean by Chazon prince?
noted.
I assume you are referring to the golden disc type mechanism above in the forest temple, as well as the spinning parts next to the door. Though am not sure about the star of the prince statue.
Unless it is the large stone statue that is holding a diamond in Eden?
ah, I think I understand what you mean.
Though not all diamonds do this as far as I know, the blueish white particles might mean the mechanism is working, or the diamonds are giving off magical energy.
This is just a theory, I am not sure if that is the canon description for it.
Though that has been a feature before the season of the little prince.
See that crystal? Blue lights fly beside him. My guess is that that star attribute from the current season was shaped like a crystal.
It seems to me that a crystal was inserted into the statue of the star so that the children of light could also use it. But so far, I cannot find reconciliation for him.
I also noticed that Skykids glow in warm colors and the Darkness plants/the algae that we melt is in cool colors. (Also the krill searchlight is blue.)
It seems to me that blue indicates Darkness and yellow/orange indicates Light
...Except the spirits you haven't rescued yet look blue and I don't know how that fits in here
Perfume-ett memories. They continue to live in the form of a spiritual shell, at the expense of the memories left behind. it seems to me that when we look through their memories, they remember their past. And those who do not know their past do not know the present. And they are blue, because only by giving them candles from Eden, they become golden. Eden is rebirth. I think that when they see candles, they remember everything and give them items to buy. Clouds that cover objects seem to me to confirm this
well, the spirits you haven't rescued yet are probably victims of darkness, hence they glow blue
the star prop giving off the same particles as that mechanism might be similar.
Perhaps they are magic dust/particles?
Maybe these are the particles that are released during fuel
Ooh, that's a good explanation
Also if it helps:
In astronomy when we study the temperatures/brightness of stars, they're categorized by their brightness into classes based on letters. The hottest and brightest stars are blue and white. Blue is the hottest and brightest class of stars; white after that.
After all, when we fly into Orbit, our skykid turns white
The prominent colour of Sky are yellow/orange, white, blue, red and black.
(note these are headcanons, and might be incorrect to what would be canon)
Yellow/orange represents light/warmth, fire. These are typically associated with skykids, light creatures. The more dominant the colour, the more pure they are.
White represents holiness/nature. Light creature mostly come in white with grey/black and yellow (or gold) details.
Blue represents the ancestors as the spirits. Blue would be associated with diamond technology as when activated, it glows a calm but mysterious blue colour. the spirits of the world start out as blue before they ascend and turn a golden yellow colour.
Red is the colour of corruption as seen with the red rocks in Eden, as the colour krill use before they attack.
Black either represents death, or a similar state of corruption. The dark colour is the opposite of light (white) and thus means the opposite of light and life (cold darkness).
Wow!
Blue is also associated with darkness in Sky, so...
Blue= Docile Darkness
Red= Hostile Darkness
hm...
Possibly, I can see that connection.
Blue is the technology of the diamonds, and red is the corruption of them.
Makes sense
Krill searchlight
Darkness plants
Also the animation for losing light via water - in Forest rain and GW poison water - has a blue tint to it
In color theory, blue is associated with sadge
colour theory can give a lot of information about a given colour, both a positive and negative connotation (meanings).
What determines which meaning depends on context and use.
Skykids tend to give out blue and yellow light. Blue when they take a hit (in the past, when they hit a surface too hard which is now removed, and when they are hit by red rocks, crabs or krill), use their capes to flap (flying), and while losing light. Their yellow light appears when they use candle, hold hands or are near fellow skykids (charging), and while near flames (also charging).
In the light-dark affiliation spectrum, skykids are in the middle, which is why they show both colors.
Also about Eden. I noticed an unusually large ruins of the entrance. I think it was like the main building in the city. I also noticed a great drm. I didn't have time to go. So, you did not notice that under the feet of the VPS tiles, like a sidewalk. It seems to me that this zone used to be a large village, but because of the red stones, everyone was killed. And the statues are the children of light who lived there.
exactly. 🙂
Perhaps they are the link between light and dark so they can save spirits and bring them to the light.
Or this allows players room to express themselves without a bias (ex. play a good aligned character, or play as a dark aligned character).
Or this shows how skykids are a hybrid of both light creatures and dark creatures, as seen in old concept art.
yes, Eden used to be a great civilisation, though it is all but crumbling ruins now.
Eden for the ancestors is lost, unfortunately.
They only spot where I heard the heartbeat clearly was when near the shiny boy in Eden after you fall. But sometimes it's possible with your friend too
But it's possible even with a friend (not sure if you need a certain level of friendship), raising the volume to the max might help
I'm on switch so maybe it's a phone thing ?
The heartbeat of a skykid is faint and slow.
So far I know, you hear it in 3 places of the game.
when you perish in Eden and face the lightkid (your light half that you call winged light, either name works). And when are holding hands with a friend (I think it happens no matter the friendship level, and is hard to hear at times. you can adjust volume levels)
The third moment in the game where I think is heard most clearly without adjusting the volume necessarily, is right before you die in Eden.
I heard it in neither of those events though...
Turn up your volume next time you hold your friend's hand.
I was more talking about the Eden death tbh but tommorow I will bring headphones then
It may also help standing in a place where the background music is not as loud.
Hmmm... heartbeat... IRL, the heartbeat sound comes from your heart valves closing.
What's the lightcore equivalent of that?
Perhaps the flame in skykids itself?
Have any of you talked about the incoming season symbol?
Here and there, you want to talk about it?
It's similar to these windsign things
The heartbeat probably just represents life.
It’s slow in eden bc you’re on the brink of death
Back in Sanctuary Season they pointed out to the direction to enter the island map
So the symbol of the new season is what? A signpost? Those look like the sky equivalent of signposts to me... without words....
I think it's the kind of thing that shows the wind direction?
They’re pointing towards open air that you fly through down to the island so I guess it makes sense
A weatrhervane, I can see that
Megan,,,
Yeah, that's the word, signpost
Tho months and months ago, I wondered, where the second signpost pointed...
Wind is how we fly... and the season name is season of flight...
Sanctuary's pretty windy, and they don't spin around, so either they're not windvanes or they're too rusty to spin and we don't see it
wind vanes do not have to spin around per say. They just point to wherever the wind is blowing it.
besides, I think they do move a bit to show how the wind is blowing on them.
They may also be heavily stylised birds
maybe the mechanism is rusty, like I said before
And now the new season might be in that direction...? From what I figured both Sanc and incoming are to the "east" of their realm,
Could it be that from following the signpost on top of the Sanc Bells is pointing right towards There?
Wait, now it's confusing. Does this new season take place in Forest or Prairie? HUHHHHH????
((search beta on youtube and you'll get an answer))
It’s above forest I think
im not getting spoiled for the area/quests of the season (no beta allowed in lorechat)
I got spoiled for the TLP finale and you can imagine how THAT went
From sneek peek trailer it's in Forest
Maybe on the right/east side of Forest social hub
But also sanc is relatively on the right/east side of Prairie
Just my speculation tho.. but what if it's straight in the direction of the Sanc Bells signpost?
I love that idea. 💙
Maybe even way up in the sky
Maybe the new season's area is the neutral zone between prairie and forest, a liminal location that isn't in any particular realm
Another curiosity is that now we could see how a cave village might look like, to get an idea how the "village area" before Prairie Temple might look from below the clouds
You know, because before the Village of Dreams, that area where we summon mantas was called "village"
I've had a headcanon about how caped ancestors don't fly the way we do, but use their capes to glide like people wearing wingsuits.
I think this season will confirm or deny this. The season might be devoted to the spirits trying to achieve flight through inventions, one of which was capes.
I look for to this 🪂 ever since I wondered why there was a while bird statue (?) in front o the Citadel
I wondered if there they studied the skies and the flight
Headcanon about "flying" ancestors:
Anyone can own and use a cape, but they can only use it within routes that have been confirmed to have a certain range of windspeeds. The flying race was a gliding race that required precision, discipline, and endurance. Not all ancestors have the commitment to learn gliding, which is why it isn't exactly common.
Would be cool to see that.
I wonder if the back flipping champion had to ride his manta in races alongside cape gliders.
Hmmm, might be illegal to do it in the solo-glide event, but who knows, that race course might've also been used for speed mantagliding events
iirc the switch trailer, the elder and kid was in the forest and the scene changed quickly to isle. so maybe there are other realm connectors that we havent seen yet. so it could def be a space in between
My interpretation of the Switch trailer is that the place they showed us was Isle, before the fall of Sky.
It tells you the degree of destruction of the land.
Plus, imagine the more scenic realms. If they look this good now, what must they have looked like in their glory days?
It drives home the tragedy of the fall.
Ooh Forest before the fall... It better still be raining though.
yea!
My greatest of lore worries is that they are gonna forget stuff they did/said before and retcon things (especially prophecy things).
maybe not always, and maybe not acid
@hushed steeple my biggest lore worry is that there will be an obvious conflicting lore sometime in the future
A question I’ve been having is how did sky fall? Was it because of the darkness? If so, how was the darkness born? GW seems like a war zone imo, but it could be that the darkness from Eden targeted the wasteland or “infected” it next, bringing the krills and stuff, so the ancestors sent warriors to fight the darkness (probably from Valley? Idk why but some of the warriors seem to give off Valley vibes) but of course, the darkness won, killing everything that was there
Still tho how did the ancestors fall? Was it because of their technology? I cant remember exactly what it said at the beginning of the game, but I know sky kids are some form of ‘savior’ for the planet, to save the realms from darkness, and relieve the spirits of the ancestors and other sky kids in Eden, idk why tho
Also are the elders alive? I’ve seen animations about the twins, and they show that they die, or get infected by the darkness (the animations are not canon but I would like to hear some theories explaining them cuz it seems interesting), so it brings up my question, are the elders alive? If so, how did they survive but the rest of the population did not? (Idk if theres an explanation for this one)
ALSO if the eye of Eden wasn’t totally infected by darkness, would there have been an elder to it? My guess is that it did but it just died? Idk
Allow me to tell the story of Sky (as a theory, not confrimed canon, also based on old lore and its concept art)
Sure go ahead :))
Sky used to be place where the ancestors could pray to the sky (either to the elders, megabird, or both)and their light was infinite (as in everything was plentiful) and they lived in harmony.
Darkness came, and the stars fell. The ancestors perished during those dark days. Many years later, skykids arrive and are sent out into the world to find and save lost spirits and bring the light home (as in gather winged light and relive spirits memories so that they can reach the temple and thus orbit). Skykids are able to delve into the worst areas where corruption took place (Eden), ascend to orbit (supposedly the afterlife or heaven) and then be reborn to do this over and over again.
That is more or less what the intro says and based on what was discussed on the lore channel so far.
Dark stone (the substance that can absorb light, which was used to make power diamonds, and that got corrupted) is supposedly a natural material that exists in the world. Perhaps since it is the opposite of flame (the light of megabird, the diving being that gives light and life), it would have to exist to maintain balance in the world.
According to the old lore from concept art for the game's beta (Sky: Light Awaits), the King/Prince (not to be mistaken for the little prince) found the dark stone in the forest and discovered its light absorbing properties. The King relied on this ability to enhance his own abilities, making him more powerful than ever. He shared this 'gift' to the other elders, who also shared it in their respective kingdoms.
Soon, the civilisation of the ancestor made leaps and bounds in progress with the diamond technology!
Flying boats, floating platforms that can form bridges or stairways, power mechanisms, open doors and more. Each realm prospered and depended on one another to build a great civilisation.
As the use of diamond technology grew, so did the abuse of its power, a greed that had no end.
[Part 1]
Light creatures began to suffer with the by products of diamond production (for the sake of brevity, there are some theories around Golden Wasteland being the industrial kingdom that was a factory for power diamonds. With some of the evidence being the the ruined machinery, the pipes and the pollution that decimated the environment).
The light creatures supposedly grew hostile and dangerous, if not sickly and dying.
The ancestors and the elders then build a great ark and used it to get to Eden, where the storm would drive the creatures away. According to the old lore, the creatures persisted and attacked the ark, the ship crashed and along with it, its passengers and cargo.
Supposedly there was a great power diamond in Eden, and it was so powerful, when it became corrupted. Its calming blue glow turned blood red and produced a devastating explosion so massive, it destroyed the kingdom, its inhabitants, possibly the resident elder, in addition to corrupting the light creatures within its range. This resulted in a ruined realm, a relentless storm and the creation of the Krill.
Note: that is just a theory based on the concept art for Sky: Light Awaits. Though the krill are confirmed to be corrupted.
The other elders may still be alive, though are not able to physically exist in the mortal world. This can be seen in mural where the elders used to interact with the ancestors, and how none of them ever physically appear in the mortal world. Although, they are still able to affect its surroundings in small ways (the day light elder placing a vase on the throne (or offering spot, I am not sure), the forest elder activating the temple's mechanism, valley twins and the Golden Wasteland elders open the doors in their temples and Vault's elder supposedly transports the skykids to the top of the temple or constantly projects a dream like environment that the elder can manipulate (As in what the skykids see on the higher floors might not be what is actually there).
[part 2]
[Last part]
As for the Elder of Eden.
Most theories point to the elder being the King/Prince.
The King of Sky used to be a character you would meet in Eden. As seen in the concept art for Sky: Light Awaits, he would have been trapped there and forced to face a ginormous dark creature. The skykid had to face the terrible storm and reach him, inadvertently, the skykid falls into a state of limbo, where they are shrouded in darkness and are alone.
There, the skykid would have met the Prince of Sky, who will help them up and ascend to Orbit.
It is important to clarify this was mostly concept art because (as far as I can find out) the development in beta hardly finished Eden (formerly called Storm) before the game went live. It is at that point, unless I am mistaken, is where the game's lore was changed. Partly due to device limitations and possibly other technical reasons/writing decisions, the story of the game started heading in a different direction.
One where the story of Sky is open ended. Where players are able to draw their own interpretation and theories. Where the King can 'no longer be saved.'
And essentially, the game does not have an ending as the 'real journey starts' for skykids after they make the ultimate sacrifice in Eden, and are reborn.
Thank you to anyone who read this mini-mega sky theory.
I hope this is true to what has been theorised thus far as well as bring newer lore moths up to speed.
🪶🪶
We should pin these
Woah!! You explained this so well, it was very easy to understand it and its so interesting, thank you for explaining! I understand it now and Im invested into reading more theories now lmao
Again ty for taking your time and explaining
I agree this gives a lot of useful info that could help new members understand some theories mentioned here
Ooh, what is "Sky: Light Awaits?"
Sorry if it's a stupid question; is it the Beta version? A prequel/sequel?
not stupid, its ok 🙂
Sky's beta version used to be called Sky: Light Awaits. This was in 2017-2019.
Thereafter, it was then called Sky: Children of the Light.
Thirded the pinning, it's very helpful.
Should pin it from last part to the start of the theory so it all makes sense in pins
So I found this "diamond" in hidden forest, is it broken or something? A prototype perhaps 🤔
Yes, pin the thing please!
Question, why is Vault not here?
Vault is below, the elder is there
The below one is Vault?
Oh I didn't know, thank you ^^
Completely missed that constellation...hh
lol, its ok. 🙂
Interesting how you can see how each elder is using that elemental gift.
- prairie summons butterflies (or crops)
- forest summons rain
- valley summon the energy still supplying the race
- wastes summons either soldiers or those sentry tower things
Headcanon, but I realised, on the gw floor of vault (the last floor before the Vault sumit), the connected invisible mantas which are representative of krills from gw appear from DP. If that isn't an indication that krills were never originally a part of it and came from DP where there's abundance of Mantas, I don't know what is imo (hc, but of course you can have your own theory. Because when light shines there's darkness after all).
Additionally, why are crabs never shown in Vault main? Was it that they didn't have light one bit?
Crabs aren't as impressive, so they probably weren't considered worth depicting. Unless they are represented by the ones we find in the archives...
Perhaps so, Archives are probably different from the main Vault, but that's my guess.
Also, just a question because I want to find a pattern--do aggressive crabs have those dark spots on them? Like debri which settled on their skin, I don't know how to describe
Another questionnn LMAO HELP
I was telling my sister sky lore cuz im obsessed with it right now but a question came up, who’s the prince? And where does he appear? Just a little question cuz idk if he appears in concept art or not cuz all I know is the king, but I heard the prince takes you to the orbit? Idk but yeah thats the question
Here is the concept art in question.
Ohhhh ok thx!
So I noticed the GW boat has one of those King statues on it. Did it act as a figure head (maybe it was an official Royally Sanctioned Ark or were they transporting a statue to put in GW?
I also just noticed for the first time that there are a mass of...graves(?) by the ship
Though I wonder why they’d be placed down there; maybe the ship reminds were there when the Ancestors were still around. Maybe during the last days. It was the only good place to bury the dead at the time
I headcanon that the King statues is some sort of turret/big flashlight. And given the broken posts surrounding it follows 8 directions, it’s possible that it can rotate
Also, if you haven’t noticed, there are smaller graves in there, implying there might be children that died along
or perhaps the crew, or infantry?
The children idea is equally possible.
A parallel can be noticed in Forest – there the
spirit is
In that case, based on the spirit memories and cutscene, the Tearful Light Miner is mourning the deaths of their colleagues as…the mine collapsed, maybe?
In this case, the Saluting Captain
is overlooking a boat leaving the ship. It could be a life boat (I think that's what they're called) aor it could be a scouting party going to Battlefield. Either way…
…I don't think that boat ever returned.
You know what they say.
A captain always goes down with their ship.
Exactly – that could also be the case here.
Looking at this mural, the Isle Elder's staff seems to appear down the middle.
Also, could it be that when the elders realized that the Power Diamond was evil, they tried to find other ways to light it? Looks that way from the top of the image, doesn't it?
I also have a headcanon that the creature in the floor below the Vault summit is what the krill looked like before it was corrupted
…Which also leads me to headcanon that they found a way to purify the krill, but at the cost of the creature's life
i have a question:
what the children is? i know its a little dumb but seriously, what its our skeleton? what we have inside? we are wax?
are we like some sort of lantern? i really want to figure it out (cause it can give us more lore about what we are,why we need wax to fly ect...)
I think Skykids are Light in a rock casing. We only have a corporeal form because of the mission to go to Eden and return the light of the fallen.
Our spirit turns into the same blue point that the spirits become when we send them to the temple once we die in Eden
like a huge lamp?
…I guess so? Seems like a pretty flippant way to put it, though
It is uncertain what a skykid is.
There are theories that skykids are reincarnated ancestor children, pieces of the king (or elder of Eden), that they are the living descendants of the ancestors, a new species of light creature, that they are related to the elders, they are golems, etc. etc.
All that is certain, they are fire proof, more durable than humans (such as able to withstand the cold, provided they maintain their light and survive hard hits from flying into walls, krill attacks and hit from flying rocks), and they are possibly immortal given they do not age (as in grow up) despite able to come in different sizes and able to be reborn (not not reincarnated, as they come back looking the same as before (with the exception of them changing appearance, lol).
I Hope we will know more about, what we are , or what was here before we've come on this world
I hope so too.
If the game wants to stay open to interpretation though, that might remain a mystery when it comes to canon, though there is no harm with using your own interpretation in your Fanon.
of course but we need a red line of the truth
but with some areas of blur for making us theorizing
They told us we were moths but we were the lamps all along
I always try to imagine a moth's perspective when I theorize. Going off things in murals, cutscenes, and generally the hints we get in game. For me, that constitutes canon.
So yeah, there's lots of room for interpretation.
lol, the moth nickname is used to lovingly refer to new players.
They explore the world all willy-nilly, excitable and would follow other players like a moth to a candle.
I know, I just got into the habit of referring everyone by that
lol, just keep in mind to not call a veteran that.
Especially one that has been in the game since the start.
so how we call other player?
from the start player?:
medium player (like 7month)?:
moth(start player) and veteran(experienced) , i think- idk
whyyyyyyyyy 😦
Message got deleted!
seriously?
Ok, do not use that word then lol
#sky-memes message
There are terms like butterflies and monarchs, I believe?
I like these:
Moth
– A new player
Buff moth
(or adolescent moff) – an intermediate player (like me!
)
Butterfly 🦋 – Very experienced player
Toddler
Teenage
Adult
XD
Here are the names that I can recall, though there may be likely more of them:
Moth - A kind term for a new player. Identifiable with them either wearing the default cosmetics, or have the basic ones form the first 2 or 3 realms. They can be understandably uninformed about the game such as helping with doors, some interactions, what the krill are, what happens in Eden and can become lost along the way.
Veteran - A player that has joined the game since the beta, or shortly after the global release, however the term may include other players that have been playing the game for fair amount of time and gained a lot of experience. This usually refers to players that are competent (knows what they are doing) and have their way around the game (efficient at candle running, and saves candles)
Musician - A player that has and can play instruments (skill level does not matter). They tend to find hard to reach areas to practice their songs.
Chibi - A player that wears a chibi mask. This term may go beyond the obvious as this may indicate the player has some experience in the game due to how long it takes to obtain the mask. These players might also be known to go OOB both by accident and on purpose. (chibis tend to glitch more on certain surfaces than other player heights)
Uber - A player that is either guiding another player, or leading a group of skykids on candle runs or winged light collecting.
hmmmm....im like half veteran half moth..im i a..Vetemoth?
#questions-and-help message Sky term glossary \o/
not really helping me- sorry-
Good point
As for the inbetween from moth to veteran.
you can go for butterfly!
A player that has advanced past their days as a moth. Perhaps could a player that has most (or at least some) of the non season cosmetics, though have yet obtained season cosmetics from past seasons.
ah i hadn't double checked the glossary, raider's definitions are much more comprehensive in regards to terms that folks actually use
genuinely tho, is there a real need to be hyper specific about what labels we use for other players [especially ones related to seniority and competence] in a game that's not even 3 years old? community terms can be fun, but i'm not sure what benefit we get from carefully delineating the difference between a moth and a "butterfly" and a veteran etc etc
//genuine, not mad, just wondering what the point of being so detailed is when there's already fandom grumping about the existing terms popular in the community
Well, it forms automatically. You see the world around you and you want to describe it. You see a few different things and you file those differences away for other things you encounter. That's how you get classifications.
welp
These are community based terms. These do not have to apply to every player.
These terms are usually used in conversation.
For example, one would rather trust a veteran would know how to navigate Eden safely than a moth.
Or knowing a chibi are small, they tend to struggle with some candle interactions (dark plants in water, or a lamp that is too tall for them to reach)
Or one may suspect a chibi might consider skipping a door if they know how to squeeze past instead of waiting around for more players.
The list goes on.
It is the player base that naturally choose the names.
That is how the dark dragons of sky are more known as krill.
I think my question comes less from a place of "how do terms become a thing" and more from a place of "why are we feeling the need to engineer additional terms that would be applied to folks regardless of their own self-labeling" since I have seen folks get grumpy over someone new to the game calling themselves a vet instead of a buff moth, for example
or folks getting grumpy over being called a moth when they might act like one but they've played the game since it first released
I know that competence/experience based terms [specifically moth, buff moth, and veteran, as well as this new term y'all are pondering butterfly] are a hot topic that cause a lot of fandom grumping/arguments and are generally controversial which is why I am asking what we gain from adding to that mess
Thoughts on stone diamond gates acting as shinto torii gates? 👀 (stone gates meaning like the ones in front of Prarie village and forest entrance before the first diamond automated gate) ignore me lol I see yall are already conversing...
I kind of think of them as like sky pronouns. (Example: that moth over there has got some winged light.
for "why are we feeling the need to engineer additional terms that would be applied to folks regardless of their own self-labeling" its liek that in the world we just doing it automaticly like
someone choose to Say toddler for young child, but he was himslef in the past a child you see what i mean?
So you just want to make new terms for the community, that's fine.
I'm not particularly invested, I just don't think there's any benefit here but a lot of potential to add to a problem that's already annoying to witness [i don't like to see folks arguing about whether or not someone "is allowed to use" a particular experience/competence based label, makes the vibes reek of gatekeeping nitpickiness over a game that's got chill vibes] [[am tapping out of extra input to prevent any unnecessary frustration, feel free to return to term creation-if you wanna argue/defend yourself over it then my DMs are open]]
I personally think that 'it is a good thing to classify, but it is like everything, it is necessary between two which is broad because if one makes of them "too precise" it is on that of the tension that will create
Wh.... what's a buff moth........... gusxigdigofhofh
A "moth" is a new player. They have brown wings, they flap around uncontrollably, and they are drawn to flame!
Sky has a way of ensuring no matter what a skykid looks like, or what they do. They all are still skykids.
While it does not necessarily matter if a skykid is a veteran or a moth to some other players, some like to use them to identify players in the game, and some go without them.}
Similar to this lore discussion channel, players are not required to know the lore, neither would some of them care about it. What matters is the are playing the game because they enjoy it.
They enjoy playing the game because they either like the looks, the experiences, the friends they meet, the time spent exploring, the time spent reading about it outside of the game, joining a community, discussing it and more.
They game opens itself up to a wide audience. The one issue that may arise every now and again is because of conflicts that may come up.
While it is not to be ignored, in my opinion, one learning to accept people with different opinions may lead to a better life and better state of mental wellbeing.
For example, a veteran might not appreciate being called a moth, neither would some players accept a new player calling themselves a veteran.
Sky is focused on meeting people, no matter who you are, what you do, how old you are, or whatever; you get to meet other people on equal ground. Form friendships that can either persist, or end.
It is a fact of life, though hopefully with this nice community, and the game. There may be a little more hope and happiness in life.
fire hair
I was thinking about using the hair for my prince cosplay but I think it doesn't work as well
Personally I always took buff moth to mean a player who was active in beta, but then let loose in live (I. E. Pre-Android or Pre-Switch players prior to release) so knew the game inside out from playing in beta, but were technically moths as they had only just been born into live

I’m very curious about this. Could you or someone in here explain more about the krill being purified and about the look of the “pre-krill”?
Not sure if it's the same theory, but there was one where the large multi wing manta (like the memory of the one we see in the wasteland section of vault) is what became krill when the darkness took hold of them (possibly because of the storm in Eden, though possibly another reason, as darkness is natural)
Fun theory: Crabs are krill larvae

frog
Okay, lore discussion chat give me your king theories
I don’t have any, BUT I do have King propaganda
I can't wrap my head around WHY they gave the Beckoning Ruler a frog mask. I can't see any connections between the frog mask and the character. Unless it isn't supposed to be a frog...
Idk but I feel like the king’s evil idk why I just got into the lore today but yeah the end
King is the best type of antagonist when perfectly following kamconian idealized skylore. Someone who is exactly as the protagonist, bright, young, filled with hope, until forgoing it all to rule more powerfully. And having that power forcibly crushed at the last second, only to then realize what you became.....and how small you are.
Hmm…
He believes he rules over and controls everything, but all the things he orders things to do would happen anyway (ordering the sun to rise at the time it’s supposed to rise) maintaining his illusion and possibly being a symbol for recognising false patterns, which is how superstitions come about…
Yeah I got nothing
Do you guys ever wonder why all of our hair is white? And since Juggler has yellow/orange stripe on their hair, that makes hair dye actually exist but why does everyone prefer white? Juggler seems to be the only one with a bit different hair colour
Frogs symbolize transformation, fertility, harmony, illness, luck, prosperity...
I got nothing, unless...
The Beckoning Ruler is a frog who was transformed into a prince, then a king
(ok that's a stretch but that's all I got)
Ancestor hair was white, and the skids are partly descended from the ancestors (that’s why they’re called ‘descendents’ and ‘ancestors’) so it’s probably not too deep
And yeah hair dye probably existed, but it was likely expensive or hard to make, so that’s why we only see it in this performer spirit
Or maybe it was just unpopular for the general populace?
Im sure theres like 50 mythology’s and folklores with a frog king in it.
Anyone wanna theorise on what’s actually happening in orbit?
Cuz u know they changed some things on orbit I think like it’s more grey instead of blue, and on the way up you’re white instead of yellow (although this could just be my imagination)
Wdym?
One of my friends said smth about skykids might be centuries old since the cycle of death and reborn and so
But both of them explain it. My friend still want to see different color hair tho
I don’t think the hair colour is related to age because even the young and child ancestors have white hair
And just before your flame is extinguished you’re hair turns grey then black
I’m mostly talking about the cutscene with the statues you saved in Eden
At first I thought they were other sky kids, but I realised they don’t come back down with you into the world. They return to the stars above.
Soo who abs what are they then?
The winged light themselves?
BUT THEN WHAT ARE THE WINGED LIGHTS?!?!?!

Stars that need help to get back to the sky.
I mean-
Wow
Oh wait yeah maybe
U know how in the opening cutscene of the game it says ‘bring our lost stars home’
But I’m 95% sure the ancestors came from the surface, not from the stars. And they’re called ‘children of light’ right?
So yeah they’re probably other light creatures, but these ones are intelligent like the ancestors, as opposed to the animalistic nature of stuff like mantas
They sort of worked like how elves or spirits worked in folklore. They were intelligent like humans/ancestors, but didn’t build grand civilisations and cities.
The ones still on the surface/in the clouds are actually trapped in Eden, and the children of light we see outside the area is them basically astral projecting to us
“Imprints of the Children of Light”
And they don’t have capes bc they don’t have any light bc they are trapped in Eden, and when we save them and take them to orbit they get their capes back
GASPPPPPPPP

SKY KIDS ARE HYBRIDS BETWEEN ANCESTORS AND THE CHILDREN OF LIGHT THEY’RE THeE MISSING LINK
And why do we not see any child of light memories?
Because it would be a massive chore to recollect them all after going to Eden.
Originally you would lose emotes from dying in Eden as well and that would be hella annoying
@compact shale u still with me? Sorry I kinda just go off on a tangent like that sometimes :3
Haha lore brain go brrr
hc, Frog enthusiastic King
Did my lore dump kill lore chat?!?!
Nope
Hmmm didn't do my Eden run yet but what if the castle we see after dying but before going to Orbit was the same as the castle we hike towards and go through during the Eye of Eden level, but rendered with the same kind of effects that made Vault surreal ?
Maybe the place became a kind of in-between, where you cross from the "real" world to a more abstract one, perhaps the one elders are in judging from the ability to summon them here.
Perhaps the two Eden castles are the same one but split into a "real" world and an pre-orbit version following the cataclysm that caused the storm.
This might be what happens when you tamper with the Eden ray, which could be a part of megabird.
Hii is there anywhere I can read the whole story? I focused more on the gameplay and not on the story and now I stare at the elders like
wot r u.
the difference between the castles could be the same as the difference between the temples and the place the elder cutscene happens in.........
There's no written story per se, you gotta piece it together. There's a few things worth going through in the pins !
Worth looking at too, if you want !
Hoo okay okay.. I never understood what the drawings in the caves meant so I just skipped a lot of cutscenes... Probably some important ones too
I can't understand what are these green lights that fly when you climb a mushroom
When Sky was in its early early beta days that's exactly what happen in eden
WL was added later, it wasn't a given
Well my point still holds up
Yeah, I think the goal is to save the WL
But I think reliving ancestors gives US something else: empathy.
frick I need to upload the meat of this theory
"Fruity Sucks at Spelling" Theory
I once thought that the prompt was "relieve" the spirit's memories
Relieve: cause (pain, distress, or difficulty) to become less severe or serious.
There is some pain from their past that we are helping to alleviate
But it's actually "relive"
re-live
We skykids don't know anything when we're born, but as we re-live more Spirit's memories, we emphasize and learn what emotions are (for the more just-for-fun emotes it's just like when a child imitates their mom, say, putting on lipstick or something)
which is why spirits give us emotes
This theory was crafted from my bleary eyes and horrible spelling, thank you for reading my TED Talk
It’s like how a newborn child learns about the world by trying to copy those around it
yep
wait a minute…
What about the Little Prince?
He returns to the stars too right?
He was able to return to B-612, yes.
wait the cooldown is the same
but it's lore discussion
spirit tiiime
i have arriveth
Hello there
we should be talking about how flawed the prince quest plot is
IKR IT'S SO WEIRD
Alright. State your points.
I don't consider the season canon whatsoever
me neither
it doesn't add up to the sky lore y'know
Child sees some sad grown ups, chills with skykids then vanish
I mean, collabs do not tend to be canon so... sure, it's not canon then. Yeah?
His jokes were horrific
No bc I'm always wondering why the spirits have chains
the prince is a human child. he would not be able to levitate like he does at the ends of most quests. also if he could levitate, why was he trapped in caverns? also when he entered ||eden|| how were his ears not shattered from the noise? he doesnt have a mute button does he? theres also many more flaws that im thinking of. also he wouldnt die as a statue. he would be a d3ad b0dy
They're chained by their flaws, their ego, their greed and whatever else
the chains, huh
oddly reminds me of A Christmas Carol of all things
Wait he's human? But he isn't earthly? He comes from an asteroid?
E.g. Fortnite has a lot of collabs now and those collabs don't contribute to the story line as much as original skins, so I think collabs in games are just for fun.
ye good point
Yea pretty sure there's no atmosphere on it, so he defo ain't human
Well plants do grow on it 🤔
If he's human wouldn't ||his body be badly damaged from the constant rock rain?||
also if he's human || how did he not have a single mark on him while getting bonked by the rock ||
Wait, who are the ancestors?
The little prince is an alien?
Considering that the crabs being cooked in the Graveyard are much bigger than the normal crabs, does this imply that the ones we see around sky are babies? Do they have gigantism? Or is it just a model flaw
Maybe they are older crabs. Does that mean there are larger krill?
Even if he isn't human, he isn't skykid either, so what exactly IS his affiliation with light?
He can recharge us, but the krill's eye didn't turn red when they met, so we're guessing he doesn't have light. But WL helps him finish his journey after Eden petrifies him. What happened?
Theory 1: TLP is like a sentient solar panel when it comes to light. He can absorb light when he wants/needs to, but has no innate light of his own like a skykid does.
Theory 2: Megabird's Blessing
Megabird blessed TLP with a starcore, 2 ways this could've happened:
-
Megabird blessed him when he landed in the Skyworld.
-
After the events of the 6th quest, many skykids prayed for Megabird's help, and Megabird answered.
The spirits lol
Book narrator theorizes he might not really need food or water, perhaps just a bit of sunlight
Okay okay so, some of the spirits were turned into us? Because whenever I think of descendants I think it's like a form of reincarnation
im back
I don’t think the ancestors ‘transformed’ into us… the last surviving ones probably gradually evolved
can someone fill me in about the 6th quest i don't remember what it was sjssfsg
We do have a lot of similarities; cloud hair, masks, same (basic) cloth patterns with triangles (look at the sleeves or the bottom of the hidenseek dress).
Yes but you did say we were descendants from the spirits
prince befriends krill miraculously
It says in the concept art
Ah okay, though I'm still confuse about it
i have a theory that crabs are baby krills
why do you think when they bite us we lost an energy? And when we get spotted they turn red and become absolutely hostile?
Now think about it, krills do the same thing but with more damage. (So yes i do think Krebs are just Krills-in-Training)
Evolution and mutations probably exist in Sky creatures too. In the Switch trailer of pre-fall Sky, there are these crabs with red eyes and tower structures.
Now, there are mutations that make some crabs bigger and some smaller. However, because ancestors eat more of the bigger crabs, the "small crab" "genes" get passed on generation to generation. This is a principle that can be seen IRL as well.
Woah. Your explanation really makes sense
Could've been nicer if they added the cities
Baby krill copying momma krill instincts yes
Altho I believe crabs are not baby krills but the krill just ignores them
Like crabs are small, they have no light, the recourse the krill feeds from, so the krill (who is an aggressive creature) doesnt have any use into hunting them, right? Since he wont get any food from it and its just wasting energy..like herbivore animals in the wild, when they get those little birds on them that eats the parasites they have on their body, they dont attack it because they know they’re not predators
So the crabs can live comfortably on the krill’s territory without needing to worry, living in packs, etc.
But crabs also eat light, idk what that would do I guess everybody’s on their own to find their food I guess, but overall crabs are the parasite-cleaning birds and krills are the bigger animal i guess
Crabs probably feed off from scrubs of light somewhere or theyre just inmortal /j
I imagine that if you wanted to raise a crab farm, you just gotta sprinkle fire in their enclosure regularly, and the crabs will gobble it up
until they grow into krills
well then-
YES LMAO YES
Krill the krill
frog
why do skykids have that little bright thing in the middle of their chests that disappears when they pull out a white candle? it also becomes green and dim when the kid runs out of light.
It's their lightcore, aka their soul.
so every time you propose friendship to someone or let a spirit rob you, you’re ripping out your soul?
Mhm.
the immense strength and tolerance of pain that our skykids have is really indescribable
I mean, there are other characters that have their souls separate from their bodies... like magical girls from Madoka Magica...
still, imagine going through hell every week and getting hit by huge glowing rocks
pain indeed. oh and no need to spoiler eden stuff here
lore wise, i believe thats not the case, skids dont die weekly cus eden resets, they just go and ascend and thats it, maybe rebirth but i doubt theyll come back there after that. theres no reason to either
what are skykids expected to do if the player plays accordingly to lore? just curious, what happens after the skykid completes all constellations?
Maybe their destiny becomes their own, no longer bound to returning "our spirits to the stars"
so its like finishing all your homework and getting to play with random strangers in the park two blocks away
uhhhhhhhhhh... sure, let's go with that.
idk that makes the most sense to me
I have a bunch of ideas on what skykids would do after they're done, but they're outside of lore and they're just brainrotty headcanons
tell me im curious
Roast the crabs
do I... DM you...?
sure why not
😩
nothing, all i know for sure is that were woken up with the purpose to save the lost, help them ascend. in our case, we could inhabit it for ourselves, restore the land if u will.
its been proven that were more resilient against darkness than the ancestors are. i have a crackpot theory about us rebirthing with a new purpose instead, which is to cleanse the lands but other than that theres no reason for skids to rebirth after eden, lore wise
ooh, spicy lore
i mean skids 1.0 we save in eden just straight up ascends in orbit after flying with us through space, leaving us their shells as ascended candles
id be tired dealing with that garbage for god knows how long too, cant blame em
found this
Does anyone know why there is this random gold pot in the Vault? I don’t remember seeing such a pot anywhere else in game.
thats light awaits remnants, similar to the bird in Citadel
I suppose it’s more of a ✨vase✨
Ahhhh I see. I kinda like that they left some little remnants here and there. They could’ve removed them, but idk, it adds a bit of nostalgia to the world
Maybe the Vault elder is a secretly a fan of vases
...wouldn’t it be cute if the Prairie elder made it for her and give it to her as a gift?
i speculate that theyre planning to bring light awaits back in the world one way or another, waiting for the time to be added when it fits. kinda like a remastered, just my speculation tho
they couldve easily removed them long ago, along with major patches and expansion changes, but nop theyre left there vibing
I realize I used the wrong word lol
I read somewhere that the vase from vault is from a quest in Sky: Light Awaits
More like opening yourself up and extending yourself out to them . And they do the same when they produce a flame.
I don’t know if anyone else has already figured this out, but I find it very intriguing. This structure is the same as the one in the final temple in Forest. According to Tom Zhao’s concept art it is a factory of artificial stars, related to the dark stone. The Wasteland one is broke, either because of a war or because it couldn’t hold any more dark stones (?)
Here’s the functioning factory in Forest. If anyone has any info about this, please share it 👀
It probably got destroyed by the creatures or the krills in that zone? Since they got corrupted
Or it was probably destroyed by the explosion of Eden? Somehow reaching to wasteland?
Probably got also destroyed by the war (wasteland war theory thing)
whats a dark stone
i love sky lore its so deep but i have Not gotten the time to look into it all
anywho i love ur skykid's fit roberto
The darkstone is a stone that absorbs light, it was use by the ancestors to make technology (those stones you have to light up with your own light to make them work)
I like to think that prince and King are the same person, that Prince is King’s younger self, that is still a bright version of him (the darkstone slowly corrupted him, making him “loose” himself, so his ‘soul’ basically died, aka the prince, and the explosion made his body nonexistent, his corrupted self probably inside the darkstone in eden)
In the concept art when the prince takes you to the orbit, one of the pieces says he takes you “out of the king’s body”, I like to think the king’s body is full on darkness, probably in the diamond of eden, it traps the souls of the other skykids that died on eden, so the Prince takes you to the orbit, and he either disappears once you get out of king’s body, since hes “nowhere to be saved” probably meaning hes trapped there forever, or his soul is freed somehow and he disappears
This has many holes but yeah kfisirosmfa
The most obvious theory for this would be the war one, as there are spears all over Wasteland, not only in Battlefield. What amazed me is that there are two factories, which I didn’t read of. Did the King order the construction of a new factory because he needed more power to defend himself from the Creatures?
Also, I think the krills are posterior to the destruction of the factory, because the golden mechanism is way too heavy to be tore down by krills 👀
What if the white kid prior to orbit -the one we have to hug in the dark room- is the soul of the prince 👀
About the Prince/ King thing, according to the concept art, the Prince after discovering the dark stone in Forest, got a lot of power and got named King in Valley -amphitheater-
Yeah the King probably ordered more technology thus another factory was made to speed up the process, and the theory bases around that there were probably two wars? I dont really believe this tho, I think neither side of the war won, since there are two spears going thru shields of both sides, meaning it was probably a tie? I think the explosion of Eden happened in that time aswell, killing everything, the wasteland being completely sand, and the water polluted, creatures corrupted, etc etc
there's lore??!!
Yeah I think thats definitely the prince, trapped in nothingness, since eden exploded and he was probably the closest one to the stone in eden, so it trapped him, in and empty nothing, and we the skykids find him and help him out i guess
I believe its seen as the prince and not the King since when he became king he got greedy, corrupted by the darkstone and hungry for ruling in more power
So saving king’s innocent self from the corrupted thing he became seems more fitting
Also has anyone noticed this?
The diamond on top of the entrance to Valley Temple, it changes when u move, but never a whole diamond
In my opinion, there were several battles between Creatures and the King side. The major one was the one in Wasteland -that’s why we see a fortress in Battlefield with the King’s emblem on top of it- but Creatures kept attacking them because the natural harmony of the world (light vs dark stone equilibrium) was being broken. There’s also the theory where the King and the Elders flew away with an Ark to reach the Holy Land (now Eden). Eden and its storm occurred after tho
Also, as you said, sand. It’s everywhere on wasteland but also on Vault 👀. Could it be that when the storm exploded every realm nearby got covered by sand? Too many questions unanswered I guess
ohhh youre right
I hated that they started fighting the creatures because the cycle was being broken, and the creatures were trying to live oml
Righttt
But I think Vault wasnt that affected? i believe vault was a dream-like realm in my opinion, since Isle looks completely destroyed but vault doesnt look that damaged, could it be that wasteland and isle were the closest to Eden? And vault was more of a spiritual realm? Idk
(And the mask of Vault’s elder didn’t look destroyed like Isle’s, sure it was damaged but only like a crack I think? I havent seen the elder’s in months lmao)
True, but I don’t think the king itself is bad. He got corrupted by using too much power of the dark stone (somehow like what happens with the ring in Lord of the Rings) but maybe the spirts and ancestors knew what would happen and tried to do something. The Creatures don’t have a rational thinking as the spirits do, so they just attack the King’s army because of a natural threat. Their world was about to be destroyed (there are no mantas nor birds in Wasteland except the one that is krilled) and Creatures attacked them as a means of defending the environment.
Yea King wasnt bad, I don’t think hes like evil evil, he just got corrupted by the stone and basically lost himself
I don’t think Isle is close to Eden as it is the first realm of the world, where everything starts. Sure there are boats and some runes, but it is strange that Isle is now covered in sand when Praire is still somehow intact 👀
About Vault, the theory says that as you go up everything starts to feel like a dream. The two first floors are reality, but as you go to the third floor there are no walls nor big structures, only floating islands with small buildings. Also, it is the only place with cosmic mantas, which may be a memory of dead mantas or… purified krills??? 😭 But yeah, it’s sure is like a dream. The Vault elder looks sad, not angry like the Forest elder, but sad because she knew what was about to happen…
Aw vault elder
The thing is, did any ancestors or Elders try to stop him? Or maybe they created a way to help us, sky kids, to make things go back to their natural way?
SO probably the first two floors are the only thing that’s left of vault, everything else is destroyed, so Vault’s elder made the other floors dream-like, to show something? idk
That’s a good question, I dont know how to answer it tho, it has no explanation or hints of the elders helping the overuse of the stone or trying to stop the darkness
Altho since you mentioned it, Vault’s elder looks sad, she knew what was happening and what was going to happen but something prevented her from helping? Forest’s elder was angry, probably angry at the fact the darkness was growing and growing and the king kept making technology (probably mad at the other factory made, or the darkness infected in her realm and she didn’t know how to stop it?)
forest elder's realm is so pretty but i do wonder how the twins' realm is varely touched by darkness if at all
like reading this i realise how immaculate valley is and then boom, hell
Valley is one of the realms that has no clouds on their Sky 👀, only Praire and Isle are like it. Valley is probably located in a higher area than Wasteland, and thanks to its location, darkness couldn’t get until there, only at the final temple.
About Vault, I just went there to take some pictures to show my point of view of the dream theory.
When you reach the second floor and go up to the third floor, all the vases are spread and there is no structure left. It doesn’t look like a library anymore. As you reach the last floor, you can see some architecture but it feels like an illusion. Probably Elder’s Vault made us fall into this illusion to show us or give us a certain information, or to protect us from what it is really like. This realm is a sort of a relief after the adventure of Wasteland and kinda wants us to be ready for Eden. The last pic is Vault as it is, with no light nor illusions, all broken and you can hear the storm of Eden. Maybe that’s why the Elder Vault protected us with an illusion, to not show us the storm until it’s the right time.
Oh, I had an idea for this. The twins knew one day beings would come to visit so they put in effort to clean it all up. Clean up the plants, the crebs, and krill. And tossed it all down to Wasteland.
Ooo I love this theory sm
Vault elder wanted to relieve us a little, prepare us for the storm because she probably knew we weren’t ready to go there yet
It’s sad her realm got completely destroyed so she hides it with an ilusion
Yes absolutely
it's how they lost an arm each
HELDNAK 💀
Should I explain like how I have before?
Yes 👀
that makes sense since there's clouds everywhere but how'd it get to the final temple if everything is high up? unless it's lower than the rest of the realm (which also makes sense since the races are down hill)
oh i love this theory, especially since theres a big cloud tunnel 🥺 wasteland elder is gonna bonk the twins
So crazy 💀 but aren’t krills creatures that only live in darkness?
They live in the darkness but could probably survive elsewhere.
All of Valley is downhill, the highest point is the social space where you can see Eden clearly. The mantas that drive you from Forest to Valley are flying up, so it would make sense
ye it does. maybe when i do eden today I'll redo the entire game/story
uhm.... could someone please explain/summarize the prince/king thing because i have no idea what that is
Prince/ king = Eden elder. Created diamonds, some love em some hate em, war happens in GW, eden diamond explodes and basically that’s it! If ya want more detail I let someone else explain!
tyyyy
Flying over the sands and noticed the huge castle-like building there. I was trying to think in what map it might be in and it's probably the fortress in Battlefield
Tho it looks bigger here compared to when you actually arrived at that map
Wait Valley Twins are missing an arm?
No they have both arms but idk if they lost it
That's because each of then has a wierd texture on one arm, and prosthetics cool
What are all the trials taglines that show when you enter the level?
Water’s something about patience right?
I believe Water’s says “Time divides each contender.”
Earth is “Tenacity reveals the way home”
Air- “master the harmony of heights”
Fire has something to do with bravery
Like ‘Only the brave ____’
only the brave will attain the light ^
Okay I remember someone here mentioning that when we ascend, we ALWAYS have 7 wedges... Y'all, I need you to look up what 7 symbolizes
I'm not good at explaining
Yeah yeah that's the holy number with christians I think
