I don't know if y'all have watched the movie Avatar (2009), but a quote from the movie really made me think about the whole Eden Elder incarnation thing. Something along the lines of "All energy from the forest is borrowed, and we have to give it back someday". It made me think that the winged light, the sky kids, everything and anything made of light basically, is just being recycled from the Eden Elder
Cuz in Eden we sacrifice our winged light for the Fallen, and when we are reborn, the winged lights reappear in their old locations

To expand on this you see like, in the beginning of the game, we are born in Isle you could say, as a reincarnation of the Eden Elder, we have "borrowed" light from the Eden Elder who is no longer around to be saved, and we go through our journey borrowing more and more light as we find it. In Eden, we sacrifice it all and that it when we return our borrowed light, and we are reborn again and the cycle repeats itself

If I hated light, I'll avoid it. But these guys ram at any creature of light at sight.

I think part of the reason that wasteland fell so hard is cause it cane with out warning from within the vault tower, or behind it.
