Someone mentioned that the devs stated that Winged Light are something like imprints of Skykids, like echos. I think the Greek concept of eidolons is relevant here.

Also, we had a discussion the other day, another member and I in Lore, about the idea that Prince is in a limbo place, and is imparting parts of his soul to each sky kid to trigger rebirth, like a match lighting many candles without exhausting itself.

That might have been how they stated it.

Concept Art says that the Skykids were envisioned as a bridge between earth / worldly forces and sky / divinity. I think that ties into their chest-crest, as the diamond is practically synonymous with the kingdom’s rise and fall.

Also, there’s been a big big debate in this channel over what the Skykids’ job actually is: is it to destroy or deactivate the diamond, or is it to give salvation and rest to spirits and past skykids, respectively.

It all seems like a sick game if you think about it that way. They are forcing the kids to do what they truly need to do and are only giving them the bare essentials.

Well it seems most of the places where destroyed and where once civilizations, specifically Golden Wasteland. It has huge boats and castles where people would live.

When I was but a wee moth and getting knocked over every 5 seconds, one of my close friends showed me that you could pick up the crabs, and also showed me how to endlessly torture them by dropping them from unspeakable heights. Proof that Sky is just purgatory for these weird little creatures that skitter around in the sand. RIP crabs.

It’s implied that their fall is tied to the Eden calamity. Golden Wasteland is shown to have everything needed to move and process large amounts of fuel, and so may have been a processing facility, if not the heart of fuel for the kingdom. If it went down, chances are the rest of the kingdom had either let their own facilities go into disrepair from reliance on GW imports, or never developed their own.

But we don’t have any concrete answers.

I think you both may be right. There are slightly larger mantas that loop the island, and have the whip-like tail, and the pair that hover over the waterfall pool on Sanc have more whip-like tails as well. The weird wedgeheads I suppose could be baby quad mantas.

The “spirit mantas” have something strange about them. On one of the levels of vault we see a huge spirit manta that looks like a bunch of mantas connected, there is even a baby one of this. This shows me that their is either a really cool species of manta I have to see or that “spirit mantas” aren’t really mantas.

There was a large white bird called “Megabird.” It was supposed to carry you into orbit at the end. It was a favorite of TGC and was in a lot of concept art for the game. It doesn’t seem to have made an appearance.
