Once the butterflies are too weak to fly at all, dark plants form around them, creating a protective container. When we show up, we give the darkness light and rejuvinate the butterflies trapped inside. so basically it works as a makeshift butterfly pot...

on the mountaintops of the kingdom of sky, live an exotic subspecies of butterflies that have a blue hue for camoflage... these blue butterflies lay only a few eggs and raise their offspring with care... they typically have a longer lifespan than their counterparts in warmer climates...

light creatures r a source of light. and a very easy one at that... they don't go too fast, they don't migrate, and they reproduce rapidly...
unlike other light creatures like mantas, which are relatively hard to catch...
so darkness plant genes were evolved to grow on top of butterfly nests as a way of farming.... they protect the nest because it's the key to their survival because it's their main source of food...

so the pipes are where the sludge of the light creatures after being turned into power diamonds since bad feeling like hate and vengeance don't get used for the diamonds. so all this bad sludge started to accumulate and started to split the pipes up, collecting shrapnel as they bursted. then the sludge started to pool into the water of wasteland and started binding with small creatures in that water, krill. as the sludge kept building and building then made the krill what they are today, giant dark creatures made out of the hate of the light creatures used for the diamonds

Hmm... So a mixed thought here - crabs in arc got cranky after water was taken. Crabs in oasis get cranky unless they are island crabs sitting in the sun.

What if water naturally collects light (including sunlight), which is how clouds charge us, and when the caves dried out (the ship suggests the water level used to be higher), sanc crabs lost their source of light

GW crabs have been hungry longer and are thus weaker, but sanc crabs are newly cranky so they are more friendly to eachother and have more energy for aggression

Pidgeons generally live on the ground and dont migrate... they are capable of landing on the ground and are qble to digest orgqnic material...
Swallows never land. They are born flying and die flying... their bodies like other light creatures r self sufficient and they grow their own food inside their bodies

Birds aren't particularly active in the ecosystem. Nothing eats them, and they don't stay to reproduce. Really they just pass through the world in a loop from the megabird to the planet and back to the megabird

so
im going to preface this with i believe the prince aged into the king, and as he age he slowly corrupted
I believe he constructed the 63 eden children out of clay, and then sacrificed each bit of his remaining light to give them light. he knew he was going to die, and he wanted there to be someone around after him to keep things running
so, when the eden diamond exploded, the 63 children died trying to fix it, and the king died as well
from there i like to imagine Megabird giving thé CoL/Prince/King a second chance, which is why today we sacrifice our Light to save the fallen
but eh, doesn’t have much basis, just a fun idea i thought of

My theory was that something bad happened to the Prince, possibly falling into the same limbo we found ourselves in when we die in Eden.
Prince was too important, being the incarnation and literal child of Megan/the Light, and was necessary to trigger Ascencion. Isle Elder could do that too, but he was damaged and also stuck in limbo.
That's where the 63 statues came from. Descendants that sacrificed themselves to save the Prince, whuch worked. That's why there's nothing left to save.
