It seems a little strange to me that every skykid has white hair. I mean, it could be because TGC only wanted one hair color (for some reason) and decided to go with white instead of brown or blonde or black. White just looks really weird, you know?

Krill do drop lots of dirt and debris while they fly (similar to the dirt on Spirit statues that melts off when you light them). However, they are the only predatory creature we know of in Sky, so they could have always been that way.

@hollow stump umhmmm. I don't think they ever got out. The Forest Elder didn't seem to go out and take care of their people/workers after things stated to turn dark (invading plants, rain, etc)

Let's say each elder was given a realm to protect and watch over, but maybe the elders died due to the darkness first and the spirits were left to fend on their own? Like taking out the big boss, but who knows. And then the spirit guides we see were the ones that helped guide the other spirits in place of the elders and that's why they guide the players now?

(So all of this is interpretation) Skykids are made up of light. They follow the path of rebirth like every other creature of light (In the ending, only creatures of life come to orbit to finish the cycle) But as a brick pointed out to me, Skykids also have darkness in them. Cuz right before you fly to orbit, you are dark and you hug a part of you that is light (something like that)

An observation I've made is that skykids don't really have an appearance. When you lose all your flame, you become dark and lose your call, mask, cape (color), hair, and clothes

About history? No clue! All I know is that they are creatures of light that are part of the rebirth cycle
