i kinda like to imagine that CoL was originally reside on Orbit with Megan and the Elders (seems like this CoL got close relationship with the Elders, as shown by how they got linked with The Elders at intro cutscene)

But then the darkness on sky world become stronger, disturb the balance of light and darkness below. Thats why the Elders fall in order to fight the darkness and return the balance on sky world

but even with 6 Elders darkness is proved to strong. It even manage to disturb the Reborn Cycle, likely preventing light creatures to join the reborn cycle (causing unnatural death)

This time CoL themself got sent down too, not only to aid the Elders to return the balance on sky world, but also to maintain the Reborn Cycle

This, while result in success, also have a downside. by sending down the CoL to sky world is also expose them directly to the darkness.

think about this. Orbit is made of pure light, so of course no darkness. No exposure to any darkness means the CoL is literally clueless about it. All they know about drakness is maybe this phrase, 'darkness can be defeated as long as there is light'

but they didnt know that, when darkness is too strong even the most powerful light can be corrupted slowly.

I think the Prophets did warn the Elders. But it wasn't just any warning. It was a direct warning from the Light/Megan. Since Prophets' role is to be the proclaimer of the will of God. And I'm still sticking with the idea that the narrator was the Light/Megan themself

me personally, I think the capes of sky kids are prisms (prism effect) that split the light the sky kids emit into different colours, that we see. So when we loose our light, there is no light for the cape to split so it goes white (bleached effect).

so i was looking at some murals in Hidden Forest, and it seems it has a lot to do with boats coming in with jars and jars of those butterflies. where did they come from, why are they so important, and what were they going to do with the butterflies when they shipped them to where they needed to be? the darkness crashed all of the boats that are littered across the sky kingdom—heavily littered in daylight prairie and forest

Boats are a main mode of transportation, especially for jars containing butterflies, I guess that many of these jars are transported to Forest because it's cold and rainy and these butterflies are also a source of heat and light

golden wasteland looks like a battlefield, which helps my previous theory because that means the sky people were putting up a fight before the explosion. i highly doubt it was an accident; maybe the enemy did that for an attack, or maybe the sky people used their diamonds to strike—unknowing of the fact it’ll corrupt them
