In the intro, the CoL no longer having the rings of light around them is followed by the disconnection of light from the elders. This could mean that the CoL decided to go down to the ancestors from orbit and take a physical form in order to rule/connect with the people. As light was infinite when the CoL and elders were connected, this disconnection might have caused darkness to come. Elders followed them down
CoL, in physical form, was crowned king as the elders had revered him (their connection to CoL bringing infinite light) and thus the ancestors/spirits followed as well. He resided in Eden - most likely a beautiful place.
Then came his discovery of power diamonds (courtesy of Forest elder but he might have taken full credit maybe that's why Forest elder angy). Seeing how they could benefit the ancestors, he ordered power diamond factories to be started to mass-produce power diamonds.
Seeing how much the power diamonds helped the kingdom, which in turn, made him even more revered by the people, the king became more prideful. More diamonds were made. More light creatures were sacrificed and the waters were getting murky. The more he exposed himself to the darkness of power diamonds, the more he lost himself. He started off with good intentions and then became corrupted.
So, in his greed for power and his desire to keep his position and pride and as a show to the people, he wanted to harness the power of a gigantic diamond - the diamond in Eden. He ordered for a large power diamond to be built in Eden. I'd imagine this was around the time a possible battle/war between power diamond and anti-power diamond factions took place in GW.
Then the diamond was finished. He drew close to the diamond, wanting to absorb the power. But he was blind to how the diamond could not take its own power, and as he held the diamond (not really held, just touched I guess, according to the vault mural for eden), it exploded.
The king’s physical form is utterly destroyed by the blast, and he has to turn back into the CoL form which is trapped in the diamond.
In the storm, however, imprints of his soul/CoL are scattered throughout the realm. These imprints could be paths that the King had taken before, or they’re just there because they’re there from being blown away by the storm. Or, those imprints are from the previous generation of skids sent before us.
In the following years post-destruction, the first generation of skids - modeled after the CoL sent by Megan adapt to life in the sky kingdom and set up places like the social areas and maybe even leave behind their candles as signs they were there. They are given parts of king's soul (aka CoL) to try and save the king/eden elder.
Maybe the eden elder needed a lot of skids to be saved - so maybe this is why we are in an endless cycle of rebirth - there are so many unnamed skids in orbit and they could be all the previous generation of skids that were saved before.
But in the end, previous batch of skids manage to reach the eden elder, but they lose all their light in the process. They turn to stone for a long time.
Your skid now has go to Eden to save the fallen. Because they saved you before, now you will save them.
And here I blame Megan (Megabird) for not cleaning up the mess and instead leaving it to us to clean it up lol. i lost track midway so i'll probably tidy it up before sending it to the theory doc

Ayin had to navigate a confusing world where slipping on the ground meant falling into the abys. Aleph may have had to figure out a way to get light stored somewhere so he could recover if he is able to generate but not store it (note: based on prediction about fire, not knowledge.) And since he's the one who shows the murals to the skykids and gives out quests, I had a thought that maybe he's a leftover, or a former student of the prophets who stayed behind to keep the story secure. Except that my theory on the halo was that it was similar to the eden crown, meaning the qg was on the save level as or tried to be the king, maybe failed. Or with the theory that the halo and eden crown were just symbols of rare greatness, the qg could have been the leader, but he wouldnt have had a job 👁️

How can they add a moon in vault, vault is just a tower, a celestial body like a moon can't fit in there. I think the light source in vault is all those blue lights of the diamonds, lamps, and the light.
Also, it would be impossible to play if they made vault too dark.
Also, it's true that sky world has a host star and a natural satellite/moon too, the moon is seen in Shipwreck and the ark too in it's crescent form
But both of those are very far away and most likely somewhere among the vast space seen in the credits

Perhaps instead of Isle's and Valley's realm being filled with a good amount of darkness....Perhaps the darkness instead damaged Isle's body and the Valley twins relationship (?, They might do that to make their realm not that damage by darkness)
