my theory about skids is, their existence hold for a very big purpose

think about this. why we have to be reincarnated over and over? not only to get more wls, but also to bring back the fallen stars to the orbit . Fallen stars here are not only the elders, but the Ancestors too!

did you guys remember that we got Ascended Candles from those statues we have saved in the Eye of Eden? We can use those candles to unlock the Item Tree from each Spirit. Coincidently, only spirits that we have given Ascended Candles are the one who we meet and give us WL in Orbit.

not only to 'bring back the fallen stars', we are actually the trigger of the Ascend to the Orbit . I have proof for this. when i went to Orbit today i purposely get stuck on buildings along the ascend way. and i noticed all light creatures are stop on their track . its like they are waiting for skids to fly along with them, lead them to the orbit

I belive that there were a lot of whales earlier but they all were hunted down, by hunters in Forest and other people since thye were a heavy light source and therefore, they got extinct.

wolf - still haven't tidied up that for king/against king thing leitmotifs but going by the themes, this is what i can give so far (i may be wrong so please take this with a grain of salt):

going by the elders' cutscene themes
for king (with "king" leitmotif) - valley

against king (without "king" leitmotif, has "heroic" leitmotif) - isle, prairie, forest (though king leitmotif plays in vault lvl 3 representing forest), gw

both: vault

boop - it's more of the butterfly catcher theme/one of the main leitmotifs, i forgot. elder theme (actually, i call it king leitmotif now since it doesn't appear in all the elder's themes after listening more) has a similar tune, but the king leitmotif has a single prolonged note at the beginning before the ascent of notes (see blow kiss ts' music sheet/music sheet 4 for the king leitmotif!)

i would say prairie-forest-gw ancestors were more of the "lower-class" workers, which could be why they rebelled as they felt mistreated since they could have been overworked by power diamond farming and production

valley was pretty much the downtown and they had pretty comfy lives i'd believe so they didn't have any reason to go against the king when they were treated so well

as for vault, i think the vault elder was a double-agent of sorts trying to protect their scholars from the king and the war in general so they could archive everything in time before eden diamond go bRRr

ok ok
so the pipes are where the sludge of the light creatures after being turned into power diamonds since bad feeling like hate and vengeance don't get used for the diamonds. so all this bad sludge started to accumulate and started to split the pipes up. then the sludge started to pool into the water of wasteland and started binding with small creatures in that water, krill. as the sludge kept building and building then made the krill what they are today, giant dark creatures made out of the hate of the light creatures used for the diamonds

I have a half baked theory. The krills were made in Eden before the realm was corrupted. I saw somewhere else that maybe the light that they have is a power diamond, so if it is, it got corrupted too. If you watch their movements, they do have a pattern that they follow too; looking for things that are in their path and destroying what they consider a threat. They definitely seem like they are made to guard something, but I'm not really sure what that is.

i don't think the sludge is exactly oil, it just has the oil spill effect. then again i don't think our flame is exactly a flame considering it doesn't set fire to the oil and doesn't go extinguished in water... but that just might be game mechs as well to make everything easier
