one of the concepts features an english cipher which has been decoded. this cipher was nicknamed « skyskrit ». there have been mentions of a second, new skyskrit used exclusively in concept art that we haven’t seen yet.
the glyphs we see around the game have not been translated, but they do serve some importance to understanding ancestors and their world (according to Reika). the glyphs aren’t any known language so they’re either styled pictographs or they’re a conlang

So my theory is:
Isle: A small town a place that civilization started got attacked by krills hence the holes.

Prarie: Sort of got damaged hence the BIG holes and the sudden stop of the bell towers.

Forest didn't get attack but the krills tried to but knocked trees instead so they retreated cuz the trees are close together.

Valley: Again. they retreated into fear because of the warriors, and some warriors led them to Golden Valleys (Golden Wasteland)
Wasteland: Krills got mad and rampaged everything destroying homes,destroying giants.
