So from the mural depictions, you can tell that they were possibly affected by the storm from eden, since golden wasteland is pretty near towards eden, and vault is literally the building after the battlefield in wasteland
In their dying moments, they reach out for help from the stars, and us sky kids can possibly be the ones answering their call by helping them pass on
One of the mural depictions also show a krill and multiple stormclouds
And since there's no weather at all in wasteland, the storm that led to their demise could be most likely from eden

From wut i can see the cloud ppl gathered the essence of several elements and put them in orbs, making the lights, which means the lights r artificial... and while the cloud ppl were transporting the lights there came a storm and with it a krill blown away by it... the krill attacked the cloud ppl and the lights were blown away by the storm to various locations in sky>therefore the realms r not tye same place at different times but rather different places all existing at the same time

My theory here is that the storm in eden was originally gigantic spanning through all realms, with isle having the least affected part since its the furthest from eden
And it doesn't really make much sense how come peaceful areas like isle of dawn and daylight prairie have damaged/overgrown/ruined settlements without something like a storm or something else contributing
And after progressing through each realm, the settlements we see get larger, more damaged, and more sophisticated

Eden’s storm is at the top of the enormous mountain and only on top of the mountain, not even close to the tip of vault, the tip of vault jus has wind and some rocks
Wasteland is at the very bottom of the mountain and jus seemed completely out of nowhere. Yes ur theory about the lights causing the eden storm to move to the ark sorta makes sense, but I couldn’t rlly picture it happening since it’s so distant and it has to go a long way. It jus seemed more logical that the lights itself caused the storm

Light creatures are made of pure light, while we skids are hybrids of light and darkness. The rain didnt effect the light cretaures probably since the darkness cant effect a pure light. But since we are made by two elements... imagine it as two sides trying to take over a body

About the freezing rivers in Valley, it’s actually not a good thing. Cause it looks like the rivers and lakes that was originally in Valley used to flow to GW, and we see a lot of ships and waters there.

Rivers and streams generally start from mountains cause I think lower down, ice melts into streams and then rivers then into the ocean-

I think maybe the rain from Forest may be pollution rain coming from wasteland. The pollution there got into the groundwater and comes down as acid rain. That leads me to believe that the forest is technically “closer” to Eden, but perhaps the path through Valley is easier.

With the oob boat in Forest, it would seem like the forest is overtaking the polluted area and reclaiming it, similar to the area around Chernobyl. If we waited centuries, perhaps the Wasteland would eventually succumb to the healing of the forest.
