it protects the inner layer (2nd layer)
2nd layer is the light, makes the cape make you able to fly

I’m going to be analyzing the colors through three lenses: first, the modern symbolism we’ve given it; second, the psychological reaction humans have to seeing these colors; and third, the historical significance.

The banners are all red, yellow, and blue, and all partially destroyed by time (though the y’all extreme weather and still vibrant colors implies they had access to rather expensive technology for color preservation, but that’s a conversation for another time). The banners outside the sliding temple are red; inside, they’re blue and yellow. The flying temple has blue banners on one side and red on the other, and the actual race features red banners. I kept trying to figure out the color of the banners in the actual temple - they don’t appear to be purple, but kept changing color based on lighting. I went OOB but didn’t see any banners there.

So. Modern connotations. Red is anger, lust, violence, competition, and so forth. Yellow is happiness and such. Blue is calm but sad.

Psychological connotations. Red makes us hungry, and is also reminiscent of blood. Yellow makes us hungry in combination with red, but on its own does the exact opposite (it makes us think of rotten food). Blue doesn’t have any particularly strong psychological affects, but it does calm us down.

Historical significance. All of these colors were easy to access in the medieval times onward. The only thing of note is the rather expensive process of preserving bright colors, which they appear to have done.

In the end of the day my most likely analysis is the red versus blue. It’s been a thing for a couple hundred years now, most commonly seen in the Montagues versus Capulets but it became pretty universal. It’s a fairly modern connotation for rivalry and competition, and I think the colors are representing Samekh. In which case, me not being able to tell what banners are what colors in their temple is actually pretty cool.

The lines looks with different thickness/boldness and if the first represent the Elders (which have tiny legs) why the other two has bigger/longer legs and even why the prince (?) Is so much bigger than them.

If it were the king, why drawing it so much, not massive, but rather like a stickman

@modest meadow i agree with your idea. light may mean something essential so it's not made of matter. but light needs matter in order to be kept. so the blackish child (one part of child's self as i theorize) is "made" of matter. stone, sand? something else? idk.
