Alright so I wanna poke shield locations to see if I can get more info, but I will forget why I wanted to and my laptop is throwing a hissy fit so I can't update a map with locations and directions regardless.
However, we have two shield icons. Diamond and sun. Sun has eight point, as does the child of light call, and in the dressing pods you do get a more circle form.
Also, the Eden elder is shown with an orb, not a diamond, in the vault depictions.
Ergo, I would like to postulate that the shields are of two separate armies - one of the elders, and one of the king.
That only sun ones were found in Eden is evidence for, alongside the symbols.
That the wasteland elder shrine and him in the curscene have a sun one is against the theory. Why would he not have an elder shield?
Really, when there are diamond and sun shields, why does he have a sun shield and nor a diamond one? Especially when he has a diamond weapon? I guess maybe shape preference?
Now two armies does not mean they were opposed to one another, and I mean he could have grabbed whatever was convenient, but is odd.

also i know this was talked about several hours ago, but i personally think that mind reading would make someone a better leader. and as for being tempted to abuse power, well you already have a lot of power to abuse if youre a leader. If anything, having such a strong connection with people and their thoughts will make you more empathetic (unless youre a complete psychopath). It's easy for people to imagine others as less human to exploit them and not feel bad about it, but if you are inside their minds you will realize that there are human and deserving of rights. If you hear the problems of the disadvantaged all around, you can't turn a blind eye. you cant ignore it. So i think it would make someone more inclined to be a better servant of the people (since personally, i think thats what leaders are supposed to be!) not to mention all the added career benefits. That's interesting. @quaint veldt I think this may be comparable to when people say "sustenance" for humans. Sky kids are made out of light, and light is their sustenance. When we talk about sustenance for humans, we talk about "soul food" and "spiritual sustenance". Friendship is an emotional need as well. I guess light = what you need, whatever it may be?

Well, I think you would develop a way of blocking it out. Just like how we can block out information (except those with sensory processing disorder). Unless, of course, you gain the ability from an older age. Some people who regain the ability to hear and see after not having them for years get extremely overwhelmed, but the rest of us can deal with it. (I mean besides me and other people who have issues like sensory processing or misophonia)

Possibly, but I think human beings are usually pretty good about developing ways to focus their attention and block out unneeded stuff. I have an issue with sound, for example. I have to wear noisecancelling headphones. From my perspective, there's so much sound in the world. So very much. There's more sounds than there are people around me, the hum of the computer, the air conditioner, the fan swirling, the neighbor mowing their lawn, the sink running in the kitchen. But no one else notices because they can filter senses.

If you can't turn off your telepathy and always hear those around you, you could easily overload, getting to the point where yu can'tcare about others. If others are lucky, you might be able to shut yourself in and limit who enters your range, but then you have the problem of you only ever hear those you let in, and miss information from just about everyone else

lambda, i spoke about the range earlier. see, what range are we talking about? what variable is it spread across? for the typical senses the range is physical distance because they are physical senses meant to sense things based on distance. but would telepathy apply the same way? or would it be some hypothetical "mental" distance, since it's not really a physical "how far away is this in the real world let me map it out" kind of thing
I think the clue for this would be finding out how the telepathy actually works. Like how it's done. Is it brainwaves of nearby people or is there some great mind system that would allow for a new sense to tune into?

The last mural reminds me of the concept of Isle Elder once being the ferryman or shepherd. He was the person who shepherd souls to Megan

i mean there’s 2 types of stars in the mural, 1 is the ones in the sky with the lines indicating that were falling chosen(?) from the spirits, second is the ones on the ground with the circle around it

Some say the stars that fell in isle mural were the elders. Some say its the light which they used to power the boats. My own persobal theory is that they're megan embers that happened to fall and still had power in them [since megan rebirths in mt. eden]

it is very clear that it was taken from Ayin Sof, or Ein Sof, one of the 10 Sefirot in Jewish Kabbalah
