about the diamonds, i think its connected to power some how, cape wedges are diamond shaped, and in vault it is needed to light lanterns in order to fill up the huge diamond thingy with light/energy as it uses its energy to ascend the platform to the upper floor

Red are good for just passing by, with a strong immediate emotional connection that doesn't last.
White are good for paths crossing for a time, and are good for coordinating with others.
Orange are for opportunistic relationships, like that kid you become BEST FRIENDS with while they are on your team in a competiton, but don't expect to actually remain such afterwords.
Only AC red are good for long lasting relationships.

and there are many layers of clouds between the spirits and us now
some more than others like the crying and waving spirits

Without linking to beta content (lets just forget beta exist for a while, okay??), here is my theory of the animal symbolizing

Turtle mask : the only water animal, but also can breath at land. Likely they symbolizing adaptation? Longevity?
Bat mask : the only animal that can fly here. Freedom?
Spider mask : the only animal that... can climb? Tbh im clueless with this one
Lion mask : animal that always feared but also become the symbol of might and bravery
