• Unnatural phenomena caused by “human” interaction (acid rain in Forest, or the red matter in Eden)

Edit: Basically anything that ends a life before it is meant to end, I would consider that “unnatural”

Forest, Wasteland, and Vault are what comes to mind regarding animal/creature bones and there is evidence we could draw from those environments that caused those deaths.

Whales kind of confuse me to be honest. Are they creatures of light too? I've seen a theory that whales are sort of something in between a creature of light and a creature (?) of darkness. But now we've got the Manta Elder with a similar skull thing I don't think that theory is true

Would there also be different "stages" of whales? Just like we've got a couple sizes of Manta and an elder

i think the whale and the elder manta in sanc are both elders of their species, since they're the largest of the species that we know of so far and they have something akin to a mask on. if the whale is an elder, maybe orbit is its home as well with the other elders of the realms so that's why it goes up with us

This is a piece of concept art by Tom Zao. It's about the lifecycle of the light creatures. I think Orbit is pretty similar to the megabird (if the megabird isn't actually there) The creatures also spent some time under water it seems, which is maybe sort of confirmed by the manta elder jumping in and out of the water and the smaller manta's coming out of the water in one of the cutscenes

Before wasteland looks like well wasteland, it used to be a normal place maybe something like combo between valley and hidden forest considering the structures around

But the pipes indicate its a factory or some sort of industrial place

First area of wasteland and first krill area is like industrial place.

Shipwreck is like the place where ppl are trying to escape the place when big bad happened

i guess it is implied...? check the forest temple door - there's yellow gems to most likely represent jars of butterflies/mantas from prairie. the blue gems below (which you burn to open the door) seem to represent material from forest. and if you look at the structure in the middle of the temple, there are symbols of a manta on them. the mantas could have been crushed up in that place to make power diamonds. how lovely

some believe the huge exploding diamond in eden was a gigantic power diamond that couldn't handle its own power. so you see it exploding in stormlock. the red rocks in eden are probably from that diamond.

the explosion of this diamond could have led to eden's destruction, thus creating a storm (and spreading darkness, perhaps)
