Guys Idk if someone already said this or not but about the question why the darkness came i'm guessing the elders did something wrong or something bad happened to them which led them to darkness. Cause in the first cutscene they are referred to fallen stars, if you search fallen angel in google it'll say an angel who did something wrong and fell from heaven. Maybe these are somehow connected? But if it's right then another question will come which is what did elders do

What determined Megan to create us with the exact physical and psychological traits we currently possess? Would they help for some reason in our mission or come in favor of the lore/general story? Was there a previous generation of skykids who "failed" (the ones in Eden) or we are the same generation as them and they stand for the generic fallen skykid like us? Just asking some questions and I'd like to know other opinions.

i think the fallen skykids in eden are the same generation as us, and megan has been sending many skykids over time to bring the light home

the children of light come in two parts, with the winged light you can pick up and the fallen corpses you give the winged light to in eden
theyre obviously the different halves of dark and light but im not so sure what they really.. mean

maybe the corpses are their greatest moment of hopelessness, their winged light is their greatest moment of hope/joy

hence why all the winged light look to the temples

tho in my fic i describe the winged light as the places where the previous children of light lost all hope because of the odd locations where the skykids are placed

@sand aurora Hmm, sounds a lot like my theory. Though I have to admit that the "circuit" of the statues/shiny bois/us is pretty complex. I know that we do borrow the light from shiny bois to save the fallen ones, but where does our mission stop? I mean, theoretically, we are fallen too, just not in that sense because of the game mechanics and playability. Meanwhile, lore-wise... it gets complicated. This only means that the statues had light themselves, but the number of statues does not match the number of shiny bois. Besides, where did the "original" light come from before they died, how much did they have (10 wedges or were they moths or maybe in between- maybe 20 to enter Eden just like us, but how was it measured if there were no shiny bois before the first death?). How did Megan (or the king/prince ) come up with the idea of shiny bois? Is it how souls work in Sky universe or just some back-up plan from Megan/Aleph/whomever and one more task for the other skykids?

First of all there are 63 statues and 87 shiny bois in realms. (pretty self explanatory)

When we get hiten or krilled a light is falling from us and turning back into a random shiny boi. Which means even on perfect eden run we loose bunch of shinubois who go back to their original location.

So in conclusion of my theory , we're stuck in a death loop and need to find a way to break it

Megan seems to be designed after an Ourabourus (probably butchered the spelling) which essentially eats its tail in an eternal circle. It represents the cycle of birth, pain, and death, and that probably has something to do with why Megan keeps sending us back to Eden

"Journey, not destination" is the message indeed. It's kinda ironic that when the statues were alive they probably underwent the same journey as us. They were about to reach "the core", the problem: the Storm diamond and they died right there in front of it (maybe their mission was different from ours, maybe they were tasked to bring light back to the kingdom and restore everything, but it turned out to be too much of a challenge for this new skykid race and now our priority is to save them first).
The most ironic thing though is that we do the same, because all we see and think from Isle to Vault is "whoa huge mountain, pretty beam, must reach castle" and when we're literally a few meters away from it, we die and get to see the inside of the castle in soul form.

i think it's also important that we take the form of children because of the message that we... literally never have to grow up
we make tough decisions and face scary things but it is never a permanent consequence because we always get to come back to life...

unlike aleph or the others who did make tough decisions and suffered the consequences

But also, the Skykids repeatedly go through the different stages of life. The realms represent birth, childhood, et cetera, until Eden is death. Skykids take the form of, well, kids, but in reality they’ve experienced several lifetimes of growing old and dying.

They haven’t experienced anything that would make them truly sad, so they don’t know how to be sad yet.

I have a theory for battlefield, so basically wastland people where ment to protect vaukt from evil people. The evil people invaded battlefield and defeated the wastland people. They than rigged the gate so that no skykids could enter, if you open the gate then run inside without going into the elder room you can watch the krills paths. Two krill will circle around the entrance once. It seems as if they are gaurding the gate.

What were they created and used for and by whom it is a mystery to me, but my personal theory is that they are the darkness the Wasteland elder fights. Yes, they are scary, but they are more of a symbol of darkness for the spirits, the arrival of darkness, the corruption, their fall.

im going thru wasteland and making general notes;
in the opening area (after descending thru the storm) the broken colonades form a vague squarish shape. before eden fell, this was likely some kind of square or plaza leading into the golden city

the guard statues hold spears; no visible shields

the first dark dragon room has a broken ceiling machine reminiscent of the one found in the forest temple

oh i think its very significant that krill 'sweat' darkness just like full jars of butterflies do

soldier at the trebuchet has a sword, not a spear

That room was never given a name, it was jus something added in the belonging season as a puzzle to get the dance spirit

my theory: the isle elder acted as a prophet of megabird, and as the other elders distanced from the light he was banished by them
