Hmm... Now that I say that, maybe red=drain is oversimplified and doesn't take into account how the material may actually work.

If all it does is transmit power, perhaps Eden's red rocks are dangerous due to a deficit of power from something unknown drawing it. The beacon could be energy going down, trying to counter the deficit to allow energy being guided by a soul a chance to escape.

Red dust in vault would powered by the flame we provide. This creates a surplus that allows objects to float and contact to charge us rather than drain us. The amount of lanterns we light is related to how much it needs to do.

So then the question is, what draws Eden's power?

This allows the child of light to still be trapped in the crystal when we finish. Once the crystal finally has a surplus of power, the light child would be in desperate need of a nudge to help them regain the will to escape.

The flash can also be explained. The flash would be when we get to draw the little power we can from the crystal when we become less charged than it. This is when we link up and join the grid.

The winged lights would be energy sources containing a small amount of extra will power. After being locked in Eden for so long, the souls trapped there need to borrow some if they want to escape. Note the "borrow". When they're out, they return it. The drained will power is what we make into ascended candles.

The rocks are trying to draw energy to power... Something. We come in full of energy, so the rocks draw it from us. When we are no longer full of energy, we are no longer something the crystals can draw from. If we have less power than the rocks, they even try to charge us (because all they do is transfer the energy)

If the rocks aren't drawing from us but still are linked with us, we can guide what energy we have left wherever we want. Namely, a nearby energy source. We are drained and also want that.

Luckily for replayability, it works out if we also get locked inside the diamond. The world of Sky would persist in our memories, and every soul lost to the diamond would also persist in the memory-scape. This means that every sky kid who is bound to the prince's energy (so all of them) may need to be sacrificed to the diamond. Trapped within the memoryscape, the world would be as we remember it.

in my theory, the glowing lad is ourself in another dimension(I cant really elaborate on what a dimension is without explaining my whole theory), the dark room is in our mindscape and the only place from which they can project into our dimension. They wait for us, because they are us in the future somewhere sometime, and in that space and time they have unravelled the truth(what it is I have not consolidated). A eternal reminder, the symbolism of hope, when all else is lost in the darkness, hope remains because you made it happen

Now we show up to help calm the storm, and only when they see that we can handle the role do they even consider leaving the world for a more effective recharge.

This also explains why they borrow additional light when we summon them - they know exactly where they are going after this, and need their own energy to combat the drain. But the spirits we helped are happy to provide an alternative energy source for a short visit.

@gilded fossil thing is i dont think the flying race was a flying race before if you notice before you start the race the same track of the ski race (stairs/trumpet statues) are down below the clouds pEyes

Its just a wreck now so the flying race got covered by clouds and is now "flying race" while the other got covered by snow which made it a ski race

so valley is based on rome and greece, especially their sporty-ness
in ancient greece, there were these things i will call Worship Clubs (to appease the bot) which basically worshipped one specific god of the pantheon
what if each of the elders had their own Worship Clubs, but since samekh are like two elders but also one the Worship Club ended up splitting between worshipping one twin or the other
w h i c h leads me to the constant opposition imagery in valley. if the valley elders were meant to be « one » elder, imo it’d make more sense for there to be a bit less division. unless through no specific fault of the elders, their Worship Club was split and led to basically constant opposition among valley residents (in the spirit of sibling rivalry)

You know, I just thought of something, linking to that theory/headcanon of mine about the Prince ended up having his body and soul split up

Since the Eden Elder was said to not be there to be saved anymore, for a moment, I thought it didn't line up with this theory
