Forest: bashes it into the diamonds for use
Wasteland: uses it for the spear
Vault: uses it for the diamond

It could. For one, prairie and valley seem to be the most carefree of them all. Both in attitude of the elders, and just the general feeling from both realms seems to be lighter and more fun.
It could be something to look into more. Most people see forest as connected to industrialization and its consequences- and the elder using the light for use in the diamonds only plays off of how mechanically focused it is. Taking gifts and light purely for use in machinery and the diamonds

I don’t know, but he’s gone now, completely gone. Either he left, or he died, or he was without light for so long that he completely fell apart... the other elders use our light to revitalize themselves

Both in that they’re at the top of the food chain (you see one eating a manta), but also in that the ecosystem can only support so many of them
I think the reason they’re harmful to the world isn’t that they’re evil or bad necessarily, but because there’s just too many

The world just can’t keep up with them

When my friend was losing her wl (she wanted to go capeless) i noticed the krills attack when she haven't lost her wl yet. When she stood in front of the krill and it was ready to charge, she lost a wl (from murky water) and it ignored her and flew away.
The only ones that didn't care/reset like the krills was the crabs😂 they kept attacking

There are some holes in the whale krill theory though. I’m fairly confident that a whale is significantly larger than a krill, so what’s with the size difference? And the extreme difference in habitat. Whales appear to live inside clouds, while Krill live closer to the ground. And if whales and krill are the same species, then why don’t whales attack us when krill do? I’m not trying to be rude I just really want to discuss the lore of this game

There are some holes in the whale krill theory though. I’m fairly confident that a whale is significantly larger than a krill, so what’s with the size difference? And the extreme difference in habitat. Whales appear to live inside clouds, while Krill live closer to the ground. And if whales and krill are the same species, then why don’t whales attack us when krill do? I’m not trying to be rude I just really want to discuss the lore of this game

That also makes sense that they mass produced them there。 i just remembered the arcs and boats around the area so it could also mean that there was a form of import and export of the diamonds

So this is about the theory of diamond production and the purpose of flying boats. Boats are mainly for the use of carrying pots of light. You can see these pots of light being made at prairie and I say pots of light because there are butterflies put inside them. In the wave emote cutscene, u can actually see one of the flying boats carrying pots of light.
These pots are being shipped to forest to make power diamonds, they combine the light with organic material at forest and use a diamond press to combine them into an artificial Star, or what we call “power diamond”. You can actually see the concept of this by looking at the forest temple door mural. To add even more details, right when u enter forest the text on the bottom says to “find the source of an ancient power”. The pic below is another way of looking how power diamonds are made and how forest built them. This diamond press in the picture is also seen at the golden wasteland, and there’s a krill flying around it. It may be broken down but it is noticeable that it is the same factory. Also the shipwreck at wasteland is seen to be carrying certain pieces of this diamond press, it goes to the top and sides. Now I know there’s boats everywhere and not all of them are carrying pots of light, so I jus assume they are for transportation since the people on the ground can’t fly naturally

Isle: little advanced tech; just large ramps, houses dug into the ground; I guess there’s the door to the temple and the structure next to it but they seem very clunky.

Prairie: only advanced tech is the three machines in the village; more man-made structures

Forest: technology and man-made structures are prevalent; Technology seems to advance (the bridges in the Sunny Forest and before the temple)

Valley: man-made structures are very prevalent; technological structures increase in scale (the Citadel)

Wasteland: technology and man-made structures are extremely prevalent and grandiose; appear to be quite advanced (but it’s hard to tell since they’re all broken-down ruins)

Vault: comparable to a Forerunner construct

You see how there is a gradual increase in technological advancement as you travel through the realms?

Each realm is supposed to represent a phase in Civilisation as well, so it makes sense

Valley represents the peak of Civilisation. Wasteland represents its collapse afterwards. Vault represents the knowledge stored for future generations to fix the mess of the ones in the past

I also just had a thought that maybe we're not 100% the Prince, but the body when the soul and body got split off. The Megabird just brought it to life so it could return to the Prince and collect the Imprints of the Child of Light. The Child of Light is the Prince, the one we meet at the end of Eden

Also, notice when we die, the Blue Orb (our "Soul") doesn't go up like how it does with the Ancestor Spirits. (This happens when you die alone)
It just goes up for a brief moment, but then stops and goes down to the ground. As if something's stopping the soul to carry on.

@tribal pecan It could be that light=sound (sort of just in a different wavelength) but deepcalls can't recharge us all the times, right.

So maybe it's just sound, but in different, hard, gloomy situations, it can cheer you up, even if you are a stranger to that sky kid (I found a new moth, sitted in the rain once and recharged him like this till I guess I couldn't anymore because game screen locke put him/her in safe)

So, hearing a big "GAMBATTE" "You can do it" DeepCall reaches our souls, but it's not light per se.

I think (IF it were) it would deplete our inner light.. (it seems much expensive/powerful to consume concentrated light shot in 360 (720?) degrees, than doing a simple flap)

Also, IF deepcall is light, why wouldn't Krill be chasing us if some of it reached them while close?

But then again... Why deepcall affects crambs from the start?
