Just had a thought: if there's some sort of balance between darkness and light, what if the King was trying to push things far into the light for a 'golden age' or something but it backfired and plunged the world into darkness, triggering the Storm, and now our starkids are bringing light to the starkids that got caught up in it and are still there in an attempt to bring things back to a balance through the cycle of rebirth.

Idk, I don’t usually go that large scale... I think sky kids are two parts. The body of stone and the soul of light. Body: you turn into a statue when you die in Eden. Soul: when you give a wing light to the statues, they turn back to full on sky kids.

That makes a lot of sense, especially when we give back the light/soul to the statue/body.
Makes me wonder about the locations we find the winged lights in - were these important places to those sky kids? Is that as far as they could get to call for help? Since they cannot physically interact with the world any longer, are they guiding us to Eden as a call for help? Or so we can finish what they started?
