well also one of the spirits (praying emote) prays and tend to the graves so there is that
the vault does seem very secluded + old age is associated with knowledge so seems likely
also why is our character so small
idk actually
true but you can also be tall
i mean
tall child i guess
and then also chibi mask
we don’t see any children spirits which i think would be cute (unrelated but a cat just SCREAMED OUTSIDE)
huh thats right,, (JSJS is it ok??)
i know we can have different heights but even the tallest isn’t as big as the spirits (and i’m assuming, it’s like midnight so i can’t see)
Season of Belonging had 2 child spirits
oh i’m gonna check that out
and it's thought that the spirit on the side of the Valley ice rink has a kid (the little one tagging along behind the spirit)
fun fact: there's also a theory that the child-looking spirit in Valley (the one I just mentioned) grew up to become the off-season questgiver
they look rather similar, hence the theory
i joined just this season (a little over 3 weeks now haha)
Welcome to Sky!
ah welcome!
thankyou!! i’m having a great time so far 🙂
im glad!!
hey we joined at around the same time
i’m very glad there are spirit children in the game it fills me with joy
yeah, that's the thing about that
which is probably also why they have the theory that the kid grew up lol
oh no i forgot they were all dead 😔✌️
It doesn’t mean they died as kids thooooo
i can’t decide if the spirits are reliving a key moment or their last moments before they died
though it's somewhat unclear in the story whether they died around that specific moment or their memory that's being relived is just a strong memory from a certain point of their life
it depends on the spirit
I personally think that most of the spirits are reliving key moments
Also yeah, they aren’t in their last moment in life
Their memory jus depicts a certain moment in their life
yeah
i think i’m leaning towards key moments too
Except the faint spirit, he legit died
after all, the bells were getting put up by the spirits. They wouldn't have been functioning properly if the spirits died at that moment
im pretty sure the spirit in the forest cave died there though
the one with the family
it's possible
one of the spirits died but not necessarily the one we follow
She survived
Her friends however, they died at the cave
thats the saddest one
Well she’s dead of course at the moment, but she didn’t die in the cave like the rest
all the others are kinda bittersweet or funny but the cry one is just brutal man
The story gets interpreted so many different ways and so many interesting views but overall, it was a mining accident.....a sad one
it’s probably the saddest moment you see 😔
does anyone know what that big fish/dragon thing is in the forest (it’s in the underground cave bit,, idk the name))

behold the whale. such an amazing creature
potato fish
hehe
I like that
where else is it seen (i’m pretty sure it was in the isle beta???)
theres also one in orbit
i want to say it’s important but it doesn’t really play a key role in the story :///
or like the leaving into orbit part
it's also in between Valley and Wasteland
ahhh yea
i know everything is important ah but i’m trying to just come up with the base storyline atm
oooo yea do that first
like what happened to cause the storm, what was life like before n stuff
A wild reika? Fidndjdjdjdjjd
then i’ll start getting into the details probably
ikr like i kinda want some sort of week celebration in sky where everything is how it was before the storm
like how we transform the arc?
yeaaaa like that!!
Ark
Ironically, there is almost nothing known canonically about the storyline, while other little intricacies have been hinted, or can be inferred by canon doc
true true
i cant spell whoops (also sorry for my awful grammar n stuff, i do know it but i text weird)
i love that it’s open ended but also i hate it since i find it hard to prove or disprove anything
Yes, exactly
The story ark of the forgotten arc
is there any reason the ark is forgotten 😳
also i’m probably gonna sleep soon since it’s midnight here and i need sleep 🤯
yes go sneep 🌸
is the sky lore mention planet Earth? since there's a Earth cape (a gift from earth)
it’s not clear what planet sky takes place on
i mean mention about earth
there is no mention of earth
hmmm... okey
Idk what yall call the players but I heard they were called Num or something and the only reason I believe this is because that’s what the hide and seek thing calls them
I think its canon? If im wrong please tell me
hide and seek thing ?
Yeah hold on
ah, when you use the hide-and-seek emote (game) and it's active, it says "num. of players" or something, is that what you mean? wouldn't that just be short for "number of players" (who are currently in the game of hns)? it's a display of who's still hiding and needs to be found
that’s just short for number
no problème :p
NGL Num is a really cute name for them though.
reminds me of the Hebrew letter « Nun » (keeping in theme with the Hebrew letter names)
I don’t remember the meaning off the top of my head, but it felt fitting for skids
aha ! got it !
Nun = 50
a fish, to sprout, to spread, offspring, descendant, action, life, Heir to the Throne, faithfulness
the things that remind me of skids are in bold
oh... that's actually pretty cute
tbh I feel like "to sprout/spread" and "heir to the throne" could also be relevant depending on your views on skykids!
yes, in my view we’re the reincarnation of the prince/king so Heir to the Throne certainly has some meaning
Who thought the hide and seek game would have this much Lore
is there any other civilisation aside of us kids and elders? maybe it makes no differences but still...
Well, we know that there was the Sky Kingdom, but aside from that we don’t know what other civilizations there were aside from that
with people
the ancestors and elders lived in the sky kingdom
and once it fell, some time passed, and skids were sent there
excuse me, who has whole concept art pieces doc?
Concept art message
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
(i just thought of this now without rewatching anything so it might not work in canon) what before the stars fell that the elders were viewed like god figures by ancestors living on the land. in the isle caves show people collecting the fallen stars and cheering for them
They were seen as angel.. imo
i like the angel idea, maybe that works more as they would be able to visit the land that way? since they knew of the existence in this theory
i also thought maybe some people lived with the elders before they fell? but i’m not sure what i think about that anymore (i feel like it’s unlikely?)
Hmm... It is unlikely yeah but it's possible
Darkness made them fall... And then they make new home in the cloud...
Whatever that dethroned them must be strong.
I’ve always thought that they fell by hand of megabird
Why tho
I believe the stars were like gods as well. Something stronger than them had to have made them fall, and i don’t believe the darkness in the intro is physical darkness. I think they did something and so megabird made them fall
Hmm... Almost like Adam and Eve but idk
i thought that the darkness that made the stars fall was somewhat natural (there is something in the canon doc about sky having a rich ecology of light and dark) but what it was i’m not sure
i think the darkness was an action/belief
im thinking more of a lucifer & fallen angels situation
i don’t know much about christianity but seems plausible
This place.. The krill home, I bet most solder have a battle around the krill nest and this what they left for us as a clues-
That’s from season of belonging, the « Don’t go » spirit was hunting crabs to cook uwu
Ahhhhh.... I always think that all this bones are whale bones-
they are ! with skulls of turtles
their fanon name is « whurtle »
i cant decide if the bones are left there because they died in the storm or if they died and the bones were just too large to move (although i imagine that in the wasteland they killed them since they had armour)
or maybe they took creatures captive like a zoo in the wasteland
Maybe
Ever wondered why such enormous creatures are so packed and close up to each other
A creature that size would usually be spaces apart but no, tons of enormous creatures and their corpses are all close together. If they were killed there, why were there so many huge creatures all there together in the first place
It’s as if.....
The graveyard is a dump site
that is true and makes sense for the fact it’s called the graveyard (was the graveyard name made by fans)
the zoo theory seems unlikely since huge creatures would’ve been kept in large enclosures and the only rubble is a broken boat and some pipes
No wonder why at the very end.. You must die instead of coming near the diamon thingi-
Well, you can glitch out to see sround of the eden like... Mmm.. OOB???
i saw a video about it but i didn’t watch it whoops
i think the diamond might be the eye of the storm since it looks like rocks are flying out of it
that is true and makes sense for the fact it’s called the graveyard (was the graveyard name made by fans)
No its not fanmade, when u enter that place at the bottom left the name shows up
....is ur profile pic
Yes
Giyuu
I'm back to normal, didn't wanna stay teth for too much

No its not fanmade, when u enter that place at the bottom left the name shows up
oh cool!! i’m not very observant obviously
Is there three dead creature at graveyard?
Someone said it was a dumpsite
could be
Pretty likely
But why is it like right next to beach/port.
If it is a dumpsite... Who is the one that dump the huge creature
there’s a floodgate between the two
I think graveyard used to be filled with water, and was not a dump site
Is that the floodgate?
no
No?
yes, thats why i think it’s a floodgate
could have been a way to control water levels in the port
Floodgate that huge usually built for canals...
Oh really?
Hey bricky and smiley
Mhm. Huge trading port
What's the topic of the dsy
Dang . Is it loud?
Im used to it
What's up at wasteland
we’re not sure, that’s why we’re discussing
Hahah I know but what of it, spirits, piping, the potential reservoir at graveyard
alright my thoughts are that graveyard was a reservoir with a few levels
the structures we see across it are what divided it up into those levels
idk what happened, but all the water that was there drained out leaving sludge and crabs
Make sense because it is a port for ship that doesn't fly
Just noticed today that all flying boat look like a canoe... And act like a canoe
Just flying
canoe ? but...canoes are hand-paddled
Its made out of r o c c
Flying boat in the game follows that U shape...
Almost like this racing boat
..
It has alot of pedals.. just like in the game
ah a racing canoe
that’s different from a regular canoe
Yeah
I don't know what it called
Forgotten ark is huge...
But not that huge if we compare it to some irl ships
i think we are also just very tiny
wait nvm that’s just what you said lol
maybe the factory-like buildings manufactured ships/ship parts (ships seem to be the most advanced and reliable way to travel?)
the pipes could also have been used to move away the polluted water, and the pipes being destroyed caused it to come back??
I think the factories were used to make power diamonds, like the power diamond press we see in the upper krill swamp
This is somewhat proof I guess that shows the connection between the graveyard and shipwreck, this proves that graveyard was a reservoir and its water source was from shipwreck, there are pipes when we run around shipwreck area, this shows the land we run on graveyard and shipwreck were submerged, the small boats that are broken in graveyard are aslo hi ting that boats not only were meant for air but water travel(obviously).
also the boats in graveyard don’t have power diamond oars
they had to have been water boats
Exactly
it would make sense if the wasteland used to be filled with water, but don’t some people think that it used to be a city?
Wasteland used to be filled with water
i suppose it could have been both
Lots of it
It was a port and barrack
The soldiers and Big boats only exist in wasteland
there used to be a big boat in the isle beta
idk what the boats the isle were for since they were very small single people boats probably
what is this?
i heard someone say that it looks like a manta symbol so maybe a manta cage
ooooo
i can’t remember who said it sorry :(( but i believe it
Creatures of light were trapped and their source of energy was extracted to be put into what we know as diamonds
You must be in the diamond factory
It matches the symbols depicting birds in isle.
could just be a general symbol for light creature, since it looks like either a bird or manta
birds would probably be able to escape the cages since there is small gaps?
maybe
the birds we see in game are...weird...i don’t think they’re like irl birds per se
the birds seem to be migrating to orbit?
or maybe they are ghost birds that are going to orbit/heaven
that, and they’re like. idk. off. something about them is off
idk since i think they’re made out of pure light
The butterflies make bird sounds but the birds sound diferent.
mantas make bird sounds too
They chirp when they wont let you land
Is there any chance that krill came from the sea?
theres a chance for anything
krills are 69’8 ft long !
googling time
Dang.. 21 metres long
how
That is a size of a blue whale
Tho blue whale can be larger than that
So then .. how big is Tuna king?
90 ft?
tuna king hasn’t been measured yet
So.. regarding krill
So 21 metres long.. almost as long as a blue whale.
The question is.. what happen if the weight of krill is the same as blue whale?
Blue whale has an average weight of 90 - 100 ton..
So that mean krill is somewhere along that line ..
Between 80 to 90ton
60 ton is the lowest.. because big thing has big mass.
And because of krill has hard shell surrounding their body. I'll be pretty sure the shell is heavily dense...
Well what is the meaning of this?
Well for me i think that krill is holding alot of inertia and momentum.
Because of how heavy they are..
I'm pretty sure that just getting hit by a low speed wandering krill is a death sentence.
Not to mention the amount of energy they generate when they performed an attack. Must be strong
Which justify why our skykid loses alot of wl when we got hit.
I'm pretty sure our skykid has alot of endurance... Fly to a wall? No problems.. just unlit. Fall from a building to the ground head on? Not problem just unlit.
But krill managed to get 4 of our wl out of our body.... Meaning that their attack is extraordinarily strong.
So conclusion is.. krill is heavy and hold alot of energy even when they just wandering around at low speed. Because of heavy they are.
One more reason for you to be scared..
You're welcome..
How do link my message when I want to mention it again?
on mobile, hold down and you should see the option to « copy message link »
Hmm ... Only copy texts
... yeah it doesn't seem to show up to me.. nevermind I already saved the text.. I guess that is good enough..
Let me check settings real quick lol
hey i’m back, and idk why but i always imagined the krill were like made out of liquid or something haha
also they emerge from the water in the wasteland
Plot twist : krill is made out of coffee
they’re connected to dark water somehow i think
Yes
coffee is basically energy haha
Is it water? Seems more sluggish and tar-like
Oil doesn't exist in this game
how do you know that ?
yeah,, i thought it was polluted water, so the pollution made it that way
Umm because there is no oil refinery nearby? Idk
but the stuff we see in game looks a lot like irl oil
Why do they need oil anyway... They have a cool laser shooting mountain
the reason i think it’s not polluted in other areas like forest is because is because there are no pipes linking them
and the river is natural in the forest, whereas in the wasteland it might have been moved (like someone said previously)
Wait are they using oil to light the lantern?
i thought they were just candlelit
I always thought of it as everywhere else was just a higher elevation than wasteland since you go down quite a bit to get there
since in vault you light up the lanterns and you can light various candles in game
Yeah
Candle is made out of wax..
People suggest that it is made out of beeswax..
Not animal fat
idk i didn’t really think where they came from haha
I think bricky said that to me ... I don't remember much
My copy message link is under share-> copy if that helps
Ok so..
Another crackpot theory
Umm we can see in the game that alot of the design and architecture is mediaeval..
But the ship on shipwreck doesn't look like it ....
It was following a pretty modern cargo ship layout.
You got the tower....
You got the boat crane.
And it has no wing or pedal...
Hmm .. why is it that it very similar resembles today cargo ship.
it has some valuables in the bottom too? the gold jar things
the technology of sky seems a mix of industrial and medieval
Oh, those are part of diamond production !
Yes
we see them in the power diamond factory in forest
maybe they would get transported to the forest via the river
how do they mold alot of steel
they have magic
the river seems too narrow + there’s a bridge tho
i think by hammering it? the forest elder uses a hammer + the spirits seemstrong
my crackpot theory is that boat is meant to do trade with another kingdom/civilization that we haven’t found yet
since the boat looks so foreign i think it’s from the unknown kingdom
That is imo pretty likely
One thing that conflict to this idea is.. why is there a king statue
Diplomatic relationship with other civilization hmmm
if it was a trading area then maybe they wanted to represent the king?
almost like a flag or something
To show their identity?
Pretty likely too
But shop usually identify themselves by flag.
Ship*
that’s true, although you said the ship looked different so maybe they could be identified that way
oh that's why there a word called flagship..
OMG
Wait a minute
Is there a chance that king statue isn't part of the ship?
Like it was sitting there for transportation
Nah they would just lie it down...
where is the stature?
The ship could have been bought from another civilization
alright thanks, i’m very unfamiliar with wasteland
Then it would reflect the other civ's tech but local propoganda culture

What does that mean
it’s the top of vault owo
This structure is above the entrance (where you come from when you enter the area)
It also looks like the ground was shattered in a circle
Around the circular stone with the diamonds
Which is suspiciously intact
Are the shrines reset?
What shrine reset?
if you’re talking about the eden shrines , no i’m afraid not
they reset sunday
eden ‘ statues ‘
!er
The Eye of Eden resets once per week.
Next reset is on Sunday August 23 at 00:00 PDT (In 2 days 16 hours 10 minutes 38 seconds)
Did you know you can use the !edenreset or !er command in my DMs? Shorter cooldown there too.
Not today/tomorrow, Sunday
that was my mistake yes sunday
thought today was saturday for some reason ? sorry
The next Traveling Spirit is here and will be in Home until 11:59 pm Sunday Pacific Time!
You can read how Traveling Spirits work here: http://bit.ly/TravelingSpirits
@full pumice it’s ok all the days blend together in quarantine
Idk if it's canon but I like to think that the krill are corrupted whales and now they're just skeletons of themselves
Idk if it's canon but I like to think that the krill are corrupted whales and now they're just skeletons of themselves
That... Makes a lot of sense
I like to think candles/light are the life and blood of spirits and skykids ¯_(ツ)_/¯
That’s kinda dark
So like skykids are collecting their own and others’ blood
It makes sense though
All the talk of lore is so interesting! I’ve been playing sky since around September of last year, but I’m very new to Discord! I love lore and I was hoping someone could tell me where I can look to read all about the Sky lore in one spot? I’m just sort of scrolling back and there’s talk of the king, diamonds, and krill. I’m a little lost 😅
@twin marsh I would suggest checking the pins in this channel!
@storm lichen Haha thank you.. but I’m not really sure how to get there
Like I said, I am very new to Discord
Ah, are you on browser or iOS/Android?
iOS!
Are you playing on the app?
I have the discord app.. if that’s what you’re asking?
Yes! If you are playing on the app now then just click on ‘lore-discussion-spoilers’ at the top of the page and then click on the 📌 icon. I can make a guide if you want!
@twin marsh we have an intro copypasta
Hello new Lore Moff!
Read this short document to get started! Once you’ve read this, check out pins for more information.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/18B1-SKG3toG0oH0VhOWC5o-cG9u0STAN92QvmbhTDto/edit
Ohhhh okay, thank you both for the help!
Does someone has any picture of Megan at Orbit? I can't believe how I've never seen it, or maybe I surely have but not paying attention lol
But how come that picture of yours is supposed to be the same Megan who appears in the water illustration at office entrance?
no need for spoilers here
Oh
and yes, that’s Megan
and the person on the boat is The Prince
that megabird is a concept art
a rather old one i think
back when the prince was the only star
But even then, office is not lore-related aside from our heights relative to it
God, I've been reading the short starting doc and the canon doc and I still can't fit The Prince in Sky lore
he may or may not exist, remember that
Whats the megabird? Is that like god himself?? Im confused lol
Hello new Lore Moff!
Read this short document to get started! Once you’ve read this, check out pins for more information.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/18B1-SKG3toG0oH0VhOWC5o-cG9u0STAN92QvmbhTDto/edit
it explains in here
thanks
nice azula pfp
God, I've been reading the short starting doc and the canon doc and I still can't fit The Prince in Sky lore
I can sort of see prince being a unseen/unknown character, perhaps everyone forgot who the king used to be after he was crowned
also i made a new observation, although i could be completely wrong about this
owo ?
in the shipwreck in gw, the sand seems to become darker/ shinier where. dark water used to touch it
and your prolly gonna ask
"but ri, isnt that just wet sand?"
well, maybe
however
it makes clinking noises when i step on it, hinting at a hard surface, like stone
so this basically supports my theory that darkness tends to turn some material into a stone like subtance
although i'm still trying to work out what materials react to darkness like this and what dosen't
other things that i include in this theory are:
the stuff in the shipmaker's room (the bed, the hammer, other tools)
so this basically supports my theory that darkness tends to turn some material into a stone like subtance
makes total sense if you relate that to the children being turned to statues covered in some darkness dots/matter in eden
What could be any reason that these birds fly directly to the pipes? Maybe the diamond's light is too powerful that these creatures lose their sense of direction of true light source and so they fly directly to the shiny beam (through the use of pipes perfectly arranged for this matter)?
Poor creatures, then they'd be just diamond power source
perhaps they are trying to go to orbit
We see birds and more as we ascend... So I would think that would be their general goal. Without a mission of delivering kids, and without the weight of out bodies slowing them down, birds can likely travel to orbit in a less unpleasant way, and take the pipe to avoid part of the storm.
Plus... They're done leading us. It's obvious the path we need to take.
someone posted a picture where there were birds in Orbit
The birds flying in unity resembles a bridge, I think it has allusions to that of determination and perseverance as the symbolism of birds is freedom/liberation. There are probably more theological associations and deeper symbolisms, but my take would be the birds are messengers of heaven and earth, and the presence of flocks of bird in unity in almost all levels but eventually fly out of reach could emphasize or represent destiny, for what we strive to approach but never attain
Oops, i accidentally sent it twice
There are more interpretations based on mythology and various reglions
But we eventually fly with every single creature through orbit itself, and that surely could symbolise our reaching unity (what we strive to approach but never attain)
Someone please tell me whose big bones are those in the wasteland graveyard 👀
well, we aren’t 100% sure, however there is a fan name for the creatures
the bones are a mix of whale and turtle bones, so they’ve been called whurtles !
We do achieve unity yes, but specifically we see different presentations of the light creatures relative to our view, I have a unifying theory that unity is the combination of all these symbolic elements carried by the creatures, and through which we are able to overcome the storm of eden and ascend
@hushed steeple I will explain it sometime, it will take awhile though
Also I went to eden today and I can confirm that the statues indeed break
For your argument, I believe we dont attain destiny in the same way we attain hope and gratitude, but that we merely follow its path to the ends
The bridges formed by the birds have no discrete beginning or end(such that it is not trivial to identify whether or not there is a source), I would argue it is cyclic and continuous.

I dont speak emoji, what does that mean?
Bricky, can you translate emoji -> english?
So far, the only emoji I know is oreoyes, which means yes but oreo says it. (I am learning guys)
this was meant to be an inside joke
Usually
(written :pWow:) is used for things that are neat, attention grabing, desirable or sad.

Does that mean meh?
(written :pEyes:) is used in times of shock.
Ayin, don't give me that, someone explicitly requested help with understanding Imogis.
It can, but Ayin's use suggests it's more of an eye-roll type. Like a "Really. You explained that" style expression
... Oh, never mind then. I misread it
Aren't skykid eyes are closed?
So is this emoji represent skykid real eye colour?
Black and yellow eyes
I’m just wondering what even happened to these bodies
why the crystals
catches my curiosity every time
in old beta, crystals would grow on you when you died, either it’s a reference or blue crystals can still grow on dying things
I have absolutely no clue...oh
I want you to know that if I get nitro any time soon, I'm making a series of crudly drawn elders and just naming them propoganda1 propoganda2 propoganda3
I'm not likely to get propoganda any time soon tho
@sage breach Maybe they’re constellations? I’ve always imagined the people of Paririe to be very “spiritual” maybe this is their way of honoring the stars? Sense they seem to be in important places.
They could also be waypoints sense each area has a similar symbol. If the rock was placed in different areas in the symbol than I would say they are markers/waypoints. But I don’t know if the rocks are placed differently
Those are old beta quests, as far as we know that don’t exactly have any relation to the lore
from my memory—this might be incorrect—but they were actually made inactive because they didn’t make lore sense
@pseudo lagoon which part of wadteland is that :<
That’s in battlefield, the top of the temple !
/hey guys what's with the spawning place at Home that has a shape of a cape

i was about to say that the # of all spirits and the # of wl before ||eden|| are the same (77) but then i realized i counted wrong oops
no need for spoilers here, friend
ah i see this is a place of culture lol
You know what wasteland look like it has oil...
On shipwreck
Because it was very similar to irl oil spillage
Could be unprocessed fossil fuel
hence the waste in wasteland i guess
/well oil will burn
/we dont see wasteland as a burn pile fire

/anyways, if you enter wasteland pass the toilet flush, the moment you land look to your left, it looks somewhat like a factory
oil would explain why the water is toxic i think
/i mean , irl, if you put flame really close to oil, there will be fire, large fire
/if the skids are burning plants and trying to flame each other at Wasteland, everything is gonna burn in matter of seconds
it's probably just polluted water
/maybe it's poop
there's a battlefield nearby
it might be from the dead bodies
Oh yeah there's literally a graveyard
I'm dumb
But yeah, all the rotting carcasses might be making the water black
/i mean we see the "Faint" emote die over there
thats lovely
whoever died on the battlefield or all the animal skeletons in the graveyard?
according to google, it takes as quick as 3 weeks to decompose into a skeleton
but all the ancient civilization stuff leads me to believe it's been a lot longer
/hmmmm
/then why dont we see any human skeletons
/probably because age restrictions and what not~
Are the sky kids fully human? by the looks of it they seem like beings of pure light encased in a shell of dark firm material. Like their eyes look like holes
/we're not human then
/maybe our ancestors weren't human either
/they could just been talking humanoid rocks
there’s no « humans » as we know them on earth in game (so far—)
we have Elders, Ancestors, and Skykids
Theres the theory that darkness turns them to stone
what if they start off stone?
What if the light is like magic that makes them come to life?
/and they gain light
/oooooh
/so we're not human, we're just talking honking rocks
/wait wait if we're rocks how can we honk, do we have special ways to clank our vocals together?
I assume it's the light magic, right?
I mean if it can make us fly
we don't have mouths
And given by the ruins, I don't see anything that used to be a farm or an outhouse. So they probably don't eat or poop
There is plumbing in the golden wasteland
/although there's one time where reika said prince is poop tho keep that in mind
lol
Maybe the whole rock thing is a theme of the game. Like how essentially in real life humans are all made up of the same particles. We live, we die, we're dirt, the dirt feeds the plants, the plants feed the animals, and we live again. Maybe this is more of a literal interpretation
Maybe our skykid's conciousness is just beyond the body and that's why we can reincarnate
/yea also when we die we turn into literal rocks
/wait wait wait hold up
/what about that kid we hug at the end of eden
I always felt like that was an artsy representation of our sky kid reincarnating
Like I interpret it as the kid we're hugging is the new body and life we're starting
So when we hug them, we're merging into one person
/i think it's our past self rather than a new self we're hugging tho
hmmm
/we have to learn how to hug before we can hug
/the kid there just be like *hug
/ohhh waitt.... it's us that open our arms and accept the light kid
/we have to learn how to hug before we can hug
@gilded fossil I like this
Because it's like we're passing down what we know to the next life
almost like a generational parent thing

/when we walk into the world we know nothing!
we have to at least find someone else, gain at least 3 candles, unlock friendship with said person, then we can hug
And you could say that the culture of this civilization was centered on love and kindness. Like that's what you're doing in eden when you give your wings to the kids that were there before you. You're sacrificing yourself so they can go into orbit. So in the end of eden, both you and the other kid are bald without wings or any outfits. You could say that when you hug the kid and become the kid, you're passing down the culture of love. So after that when you get your hair and your wings back, you're remembering who you are
I assume this mans used a VERY permanent marker when he was little and put it on his forehead 🤠
I should probably put this is #screenshots-and-videos instead
Are there any theories as to what happened at the battlefield in golden wasteland?
Like the civilization of the elders/ancestors. Who were they fighting?
A common theory (known as the Two Shields theory) is that there was a civil war
since we see two styles of shield on the battlefield, the sunburst and the diamond
Ooooo
many think the war had something to do with the power diamonds
/the spear and the sword
/so the sword looks and awful lot similar to materials that made the diamond shield
yes
although we see both shields impaled with spears
so both sides seem to have used them
swords...idk
now THAT is interesting 🧐
/man what if the spear people turn against each other
Maybe just two different functions of soldiers?
Just like how Marine and Air Force look different from each other?
It's possible
Maybe they were all on the same team but fighting something more abstract that was able to use their own weapons against one another
I'm wondering. Because I was looking through the concept art and there was art for corrupted mantas and stuff. Maybe they were fighting corrupted creatures. And maybe that corrupting magic was turning soldiers against one another like zombies
I am sorry, what does whurtles mean?
whurtle is a fanon name for the creatures in graveyard
They do have a back story line pic posted by the designer, but I don’t how much they changed the back story, since it was a long time ago
Tbh, the king symbol still remain. Those big statues at battle filed and I also kinda curious about what make them change this into krill
the timeline pic isn’t canon, if that’s what you’re referring to
Okee
Is there a canon backstory aside from what we know directly from playing the game?
nope
I figured
Hello new Lore Moff!

you seem new, take this

Also I said earlier that I didn't see any evidence of farms and assumed they probably don't eat
But I just realized there is evidence of crops in the season of enchantment section in golden wasteland
That's not to say that they eat food though. Because there's other purposes for agriculture
/yeah and the crabs seem to like it
But it is possible
/the "Boo" emote who's doing stuff there seems to have problems with crab infesting the place
This is random, sorry, did someone see the days of summer preview? The link is broken 👀
My theory is that the Sky kids aren’t necessarily “reborn” but more so they’re sent back to the past. The emotes that you get are the Sky kids learning how to express emotion but they themselves are just an empty shell.
so basically collecting wings + candle runs are just the Sky children in a never ending time loop /w p cool cosmetics 😺
That's an interesting theory
I just wish that the story was more yk prominent and clearer in sky 😿
Yeah, I’ve been playing Sky for a year now but nothing really has changed except for cosmetics and added locations...
Oooh
You could say the spirits drank gatorade, and you wouldnt be wrong since we have no evidence to disprove nor support it
I just wish that they added something more story wise
they have been, slowly
But yeah I see their point
This is random, sorry, did someone see the days of summer preview? The link is broken 👀
@sage breach /go check screen shot and videos someone took a pic of the page, apperently so many people got in the server jusst got overwwhelm
I just wish that the story was more yk prominent and clearer in sky 😿
@unique valve /it's a bit hidden yes. that's why you have to keep an eye out for stuff!
I feel like the fact that they left it vague makes theorizing more fun
We get to do some digging and come up with our own ideas
I think vague stories have their ups and downs
It leaves lots of reason to chase after nonsense.
It intrigues us so we get invested in the mystery
and play with literary ideas that knock the story in an entire other direction
I just have a weird relationship with Sky itself
since I quit for like 2 months or more because doing countless of candle runs to just get cosmetics
I get their intentions are great but it’s been a year and I don’t see any change
i think this is more of a #wishlist-and-ideas-archived thing or for gen chat
Yeah NFKSND
Anyways, about the question of whether the ancients ate. I'm wondering what it is they were farming if we still don't have evidence that they ate or digested food. I guess agriculture is equally useful for textiles and crafting materials. Or maybe they just did eat. We have little dinner tables for talking. And they could've just pooped in the sky like birds.
we see in enchantment they’re farming and foraging for mushrooms
im betting that’s to eat
Ooooh you're right
maybe they consumed light food ?
Ancestors certainly ate crabs
Krills were probably just a fancy meal
we see in belonging that belonging dad was cooking crabs
like lobster haha
Also one of the sanctuary spirits seems to reject crab cause full. Specifically belly rub spirit
so if they eat crabs, their diets are probably not limited to creatures of light
unless it's like eating tainted meat
Oof it’s weird to imagine them eating light creatures
were it not required for ultimate, I would happily skip that one.
Lmao
Someone draw this rn
@obtuse lark ngl I might.
👀👀
it's the mustache one, right?
So. If they ate. And if there aren't any bathrooms. Did they poop in the sky like birds?
/maybe they just pooped dark plants
That's a painful thing to picture lol
/wait no i forgot to do the strikethrough
@obtuse lark ngl I might.
@shy quarry /also can you please add a dad joke
Why do they need to eat tho
Wait what creature were talking about here?
/oh the ancestor
@shy quarry /also can you please add a dad joke
@gilded fossil of course
Why do they need to eat tho
@mild lark I'm just curious how they lived
they had beds so we know they slept
they had diamond technology
What does that mean?
I presume they mean to ask how they reproduce
magic
I wonder if gender is even present
A lot of the spirits are pretty androgynous in appearance
So sex and gender may not even exist for them the way it does for irl humans
Gender isn't particularly important to the lore imo..
Even the Devs don't really specify if the the ancestors or elders has gender
I like that
So it was gender neutral
/oops sorry i jusst dropped an f bomb
I like to think of an entire civilization where gender doesn't have the cultural weight that it has irl
I think they just started existing at some point and gender isnt a thing, like its what the sky kid prefers to wear
The sky kid chose long hair because it looked cool
Something like that
I think they don't have basic reproduction method like we do...
More likely they use magic and light
Which is why gender isn't important because it wasn't needed to be important
/they're rocks
I wonder if the king and prince are actually male then
/he's a boulder
All of spirit and elders are gender neutral imo
Same here
despite the gendered titles, the King/Prince doesn’t have to be a man
it’s unclear if elders even had a concept of gender in their minds
so what i’m saying is
elders said enby rights
/what's enby?
non-binary
/aaaah
not a man, not a woman
/they identify as an elder
Like a rock
And hey, the king and prince are only referred by those names in the extracurricular material
It might not be too late to find a gender neutral term
unless I'm wrong
/imagine they go into real life
-So uh, are you a boy or a girl?
-I identify as an Elder
-i mean, what's in
-Elder and magic stuff
Although devs have said « The king is canon »
so we know that « King » is the title they went by
Yes
I wonder if that's intentional or not
Intentional imo
wdym ?
that's the fun of lore
Be like me..
I made theory
A theory about what?
A theory suggesting that there is 35 more factory even though there isnt alot to prove it.
Overanalyzing is fun
Wait wait
Are you new to lore?
@mild lark I am
does anyone know the alphabet used in sky? and the elder name of each realm?
ooo
Isle: Daleth (ד)
Prairie: Ayin (ע)
Forest: Teth (ט)
Valley: Samekh (ס)
Wasteland: Tsadi (צ)
Vault: Lamed (ל)
Prince/Not Corrupt King: Alef (א)
Corrupt King: Resh (ר)
PLEASE NOTE: These names have appeared in concept art and are often used when referring to the elders. They are no longer canon, they are fanon.
Okay, thank you!
Alright here is my theory
Pretty long
Oh well
Over 2000 characters limit
I'll trim it down
split it into 2 or 3 messages then
Oh yeah that will work too...
I don't why I didn't think of that
I think most of you know that the sky world is pretty mediaval. there are temples, statue and ... huge laser shooting mountain.....
The sky kingdom currently has 2 factories. factories to process what?.... I don't know. but most people agree that those factory need to have one diamond press....
for it to work. we see that in the forest temple. btw the forest temple is a factory if you don't know yet. now the second factory is in golden wasteland. it was heavily damaged but we also know that it will need only one diamond press too
so each factory need one diamond press.... noted.....
next is this two factories was the exactly same copy of each other.... meaning that it was following the same layout. .... alright noted...
so will this tell us anything?
will it give us any clue to what happened?....
No unfortunately...
... so now let's get into my theory...
My theory suggests that there is alot more factory laying around in the sky kingdom...
what make me say this?.. you ask? it was because I found exactly 35 more diamond press inside the ship on shipwreck. I don't know about you but that tells me something about hidden factory in sky kingdom. I mean it was logical right? two factories can't do that much environmental damage to golden wasteland alone. there must be more to achieve that level of damage...
..
At the first area of wasteland.. if you look at the left. You can see another building that has alot of pipe.
That is very much likely a factory..
Who knows how much more factories there is beyond the horizon.
That factory is also most likely to use the same layout..
There are several advantages to use the same layout of Factory again and again..
First is simplicity..
You don't want to make something complicated when you already have a sample that works. Like you don't need to design a car just for you to drive that one day. Unless you want make a new kind of vehicle. But that just isn't true for sky.
Second is cost efficient.
Investing for a new factory layout need work and energy. It was not efficient to make new layout everytime you want to build a factory.
And because of this layout.. it was possible to mass produce this kind of factory..
at the shipwreck I found 35 of of diamond press.... there must be at least 35 factories in sky kingdom.
if that was true... The king of sky kingdom is turning the whole sky world into a fully fledged industrial zones.... to produce what again? I don't know.. but it must be valuable that 35 more factories was built for it.
But logically... why do you need that much factories for a tiny island like sky kingdom?....
Why do you need that huge ship for sky kingdom only?....
why do you need that huge of a ship to travel to sky kingdom?.....
why is the ship on shipwreck has the king statue?
It was entirely unnecessary to have that huge amount of capabilities for only sky kingdom....
you know what I'm thinking....
That is right... The king's territories is not just the sky kingdom....
Why would I say that?
well because my interpretation of the ship on shipwreck is a cargo ship.. it was supposed to carry such a huge amount of cargo from somewhere to sky kingdom....
meaning that the diamond press we see here.... don't originated from sky kingdom... it was manufactured from somewhere else for sky...
because of the king's statue on the ship... it was safe to say that the other places was king's territories too!
the king is trying to turn sky kingdom into an industrial zone.
Maybe even the king don't originated from sky...
/BRING US THE PICTURES!!!
/i really would like to see another cargo ship, maybe a ship that does repairing stuff too
The first is the another Factory
imo
And the second is the the modules needed for the factories to work
I do have made a video in this theory but it has many conflicting stuff with the canon
/wait did you seriously count all the block things
It's interesting to think that there may have been another kingdom that the ancients traded with
Yes Jen..
I was bored
/i mean trading was imporrtant part of civilization
they had to have some sort of economy to get this technologically advanced
i do wanna mention that every factory requires 2 of those gold things
we see that in forest
so maybe not 35 factories
/i believe in smiley
maybe 15 or so
/maybe they advanced so much they only need one
the visual evidence we see shows them needing 2
thus i’ll believe they need 2 at least
Maybe they're not factories but powerplants
/my district has 15 factories
/hey guys how do you make it bigger??
/aaaaah okay!
it’s a bit blurry so i’ll transcribe
/there seems to be a lot more factory-ish rather than what we see in the game
- Raw material goes in
- Giant press stamps material into artificial star
- Artificial star is imbued with energy inside this chamber
- Finished artificial stars come out of the troughs
yea, it’s a bit different, but the similarities are still there
Are there any theories as to why there are candles everywhere?
And why spirits will accept them as currency?
is it like a tribute to the dead thing?
- Raw material goes in
- Giant press stamps material into artificial star
- Artificial star is imbued with energy inside this chamber
- Finished artificial stars come out of the troughs
@lethal stump /to be fair before we release mantas we can only hear stamping noises
it’s unclear if cosmetics and buying cosmetics is lore-related or not
/game mech or lore
/the age old question
/although you can still makes thoerais
It seems like everything you get from the spirits is just some form of anthropological wisdom from their culture
Imagine if we could do that with actual dead cultures
« ey what’s up caeser i have the candles, you have the togas ? »
lol ay yo Moctezuma, you got any sheet music? I have wax 😄
wax and love
We'd get to watch spirits building stonehenge and the easter island heads

Yeah it could be 15 factories
But I follow this... Look it the same golden jar at the center for the huge spinning metal plate.
yes the factories are the same
I mean that one
ahh
On golden wasteland there is one too
It seem to power the whole factory
Which also made me wonder .. is it like replaceable battery?
Golden jar reminded me the Vault. Not specifically the one you're talkin, but in the elevator ground floor there is an actually golden jar, with a narrow and long "neck", on a shelf. (I think next to the corridor we enter. It's the only one I spotted, any idea about what it means or what could be its purpose?
it’s from a beta quest, that’s all i know
idk if it’s lore related or not
Why do ur pics look weird smiley
(the one for gw)
The one in gw looks exactly like the pic of forest u sent
some people think that Forest and Wasteland are the same place
Here u go
some people think that Forest and Wasteland are the same place
Same factory style but not same place tbh
Tgc did copy-paste
and decided to make the place look like it was in shambles
I kind of agree with Hf and Gw looking the same since some of the structures look familiar
Forest has prison cages and those steps/stones and its smaller in size. Forest has a slope at the end and open walls/cages on the sides
Gw has pipes on the right, more spacious, and has a place on the left side. And has solid walls
I made a report before if those 2 are the same or not
hmm
perhaps Forest made a non-rebertable upgrade
non-revertable*
Not sure really
Gw probs a bigger factory, forest was the original factory so makes sense if it was smaller
Ttyl lunch xD
oh okie
I shoot firework first to light up the area...
Because I can't see anything....
That why it look weird
oh
Disn't it..?
didn't*
Also
Was there ever a ceiling for the huge diamond maker thingie to latch on?
Its open/disconnected but not missing a chunk like that
oh right
oh ok
But what happened to the rest of the ceiling though
Probs caved in somehow, doesn't make sense why the place isnt filled with rubble tbh
the rubble not too far from the gold cocoon seems too small or tiny to make up the rest of the space
Yeah
it's ok i understood that term xD
Gw factory doesnt make a lot of sense. Unless they made it open ceiling somehow
or maybe the majority of the rubble is in the polluted water?
Maybe
Or something hit the top of the factory which made all the rubble fall outside to the other side
still very
but what is the thing that hit the factory
or maybe
there weren't enough support to support the weight of the gold cocoon
Or maybe the factory exploded? Thats why the rubble went outward??
or there might be too many artificial diamonds in it
both seems very heavy that's why it collapsed
xD
?
Ah
I saw one in the rubble of the destroyed factory
there's also one in the shipwreck area
u mean the golden ones or?
Took more pics of the ceiling, seems like they might have made it semi-open??
Why would there be support pillars for an open roof though
dunno just speculating
like maybe the beginning (2nd pic) it was roofed but the other part is open
it wont make sense how they attached the big golden thing tho
oh yeah
||tgc can't hide this forever||
u mean the golden ones or?
@tender dune Near the starting point of the area
they look like real diamonds
i didnt notice them..
I went through and I can’t see anything like that
Would you mind taking some screenshots of what you mean?
Maybe the big gold plate thing is floating
Was*
A disruption of power make it fall down
I think that is the major damage done to this factory.. like the rest look good
Oh no I messed up my profile pic
I was going through the realms and I noticed that a lot of the doors have an interesting shape to them
That’s the basic shape, and there’s a few interesting variations I found too
If the image will ever send
Well it appears that I can’t send images
So I suppose I will try this again at another time

Huzzah!
Notice the variation in these of the diamond above the door outline
Hard to see in the second one but there’s a power diamond slot above it
Here it is in the fallen building in the first area of GW
And then there’s this very interesting instance:
Where you see the outline and the statue of the king just so happens to line up perfectly
So the question stands: are the doors modelled after the king?
Are they perhaps modelled after another entity?
Maybe they’re just stylistic choice and I’m delusional but that remains to be seen
might be stylistic since we also see them in isle
That's the eden door
Ik
You're seeing stuff the devs didnt mean you to see
Yeah I was also thinking that that's just a game thing but I can't find a reason to why would they do this
Game optimization
The devs only make the details for things that are actually seen when you play the game.
Yeah
You can look back at the cloud tunnel to forest and you can see the tops of the bald trees in the social space
Usually things that are seen oob are used in cutscenes
I am now thinking that where do sky paperboats come from
just a fun game mechanic i think.
I mean are they real paper
Or they are made of light too like most of the things
Yeah the timid bookworm
Ok so skykids ripped timid bookworm's book's pages and made boats out of it

Ok so skykids ripped timid bookworm's book's pages and made boats out of it
LoneWolf#6599
Rip the books
What books?
Well, Timid Bookworm’s books
mhm
@delicate coral who/what is "the king"?
Hello new Lore Moff!
Read this short document to get started! Once you’ve read this, check out pins for more information.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/18B1-SKG3toG0oH0VhOWC5o-cG9u0STAN92QvmbhTDto/edit
credits to bricky
Hehehe
Thanks, I'll have a look

Also while I'm here, might as well ask if || "faerie/fairy ring" does exist? || I read somewhere that at 10 minutes to every hour it appears above the || hills at above the 8 player puzzle area in Prairie ||. I tried looking for it, and I waited for the time but at the area was just something like an invisible barrier and you could use your candle to "light" it, but nothing happened
no need for spoilers, friend !
also that sounds more like something for #questions-and-help
Thanks, okay, I'll try there 😊🙏
But we can make a theory for it!
I'm happy to hear it 😄
Coming back to "The King", do we see him anywhere? Or is there reference to him?
we see statues of him, as well as his motif (4 or 8 pointed star) around the map a lot
We don't see him actually but there are quite a lot of references to him
Ooh okay, I've been around since season of Enchantment, and today is the first day I've seen him mentioned... (earlier today, and then just now again)
yeah, he’s not mentioned explicitly in game
however there is a mural of him, at the end of the vault cutscene
Oh cool, I'm going to check it out later tonight... Sky never ceases to amaze me
Right now, our paranoia has gotten to the point where we see symbols of the King everywhere.
xD
Is/was he a bad person
the pins have a lot more, you should check them out sometime
Will do, I tried earlier, but all the information at once was overwhelming lol... I'm going to go about it methodically, one at a time
Thought I'd start with the king
Like I already knew about megabird and a few others
here’s some concept arts of the king uwu
the one on the bottom is very very old, so take it with a grain of salt
The king is the only elder that somehow didn't appear to fall from the sky, right?
In the opening cutscene, I mean
they do, just later
Oh, okay
Who do you guys think the narrator is? I think I've finally pieced together the lore, but the only thing I can't get is the narrator
i think maybe isle elder
Yeah, maybe... But I'm not too sure
Judging by the opening cutscene the King didnt fall along with the other elders.
Which led to some theories suggesting that he is the darkness referred to by the narrator of the opening cutscene
I wonder why the isle elder doesnt have his face on the eden gate
owo
Plus his face is damaged too so i think there may be a reason for it????
Or maybe its because hes old lmao
vault elder has a scratch on her face too, i wonder why
At first i thought she was crying
The constellation is something like this. Why is it like a crown? Anyone?
probably represents the king/prince, so it’s a crown
it also looks like an anchor to me sometimes
when you hold to move the screen u can slightly see the constellation
It surely represent king cause in vault cutscene king's pic is shown holding a ball
we're also called "the light" in that constellation
Yea
Hmm
there is always one part broken from valley
even the mask of kakashi if im not mistaken
i think its always the right side.. ill check the door too
yeah even the door (right side)
The constellation is something like this. Why is
/i remember someone said it looks like the corona borelis constelation
tis was me speculating xD
i said maybe the constellation looked like corona borealis (which is known as the northern crown)
also thinking maybe the elders are the Seven Sisters constellation
dont know much about astrology to make a proper theory tho
/oh so it was you!!
yeah
I think I've got a full idea about what actually happened at Sky. It somehow fits a little too well with the themes of the game.
Lemme hear it

Btw, these are like a combination of multiple theories I've heard so far, there's this link with images that gave me the idea that has screenshots of the Isle Murals
Holy mackerel, that looks like "the light" constellation at home....
Holy mackerel, that looks like "the light" constellation at home....
it is xD
I think there were people before the stars fell. Humans who lived on land. The first images on the link shows how humans actually became more civilised
😱
