The basic storyline is we, the player (we call the child Skykid), need to bring the fallen stars back to the sky (Emote Spirits, and the 'Elders' seen in the cutscenes).

i don't think this contributes directly to lore on its own, but maybe a proof of concept for what can be done if you really want to explore the area: friend and i tried to teleport to each other after we got our lights back after stormlock (in the dark room, before going into the light that takes you to ascent), and we wound up teleporting to where the other player died -- friend somehow got forced under the level because of my death position
there's a reset barrier if you fall too low, so definitely be careful
she didn't spot anything of interest, but there's a fair amount of space under there for stuff to be hidden

@undone yacht i think that part isn't really in vault. Vault itself has the top part intact, and what we experience inside is the stored memory of each realm... Except Vault. So i think that last part is actually a memory of Eden (also, the floor representing Wasteland has the spirit whale... Could mean that Wasteland in the past actually had whales and so the bones in graveyard could be ancient whales (tho they look different from the Forest whale boneyard... Dunno ahaha)

Based on concept art , the prince had a great victory and was crowned /crowned himself king. But the murals for the games that were played in Valley depict two equal opposing opponents
The elders of that time/land (valley of triumph) are twins, equals.
So I propose it’s possible that there was an opponent to his throne. And that perhaps as depicted by the elders of Valley, the prince had a sister... (Aleph is Prince, so Bet must be princess)
