When it is smaller, it is easier to feed. This allows it to be blue and shiny. As it gets bigger it gains power, but becomes difficult to feed. If hard times came, it would be baaaaaad for him.

@lethal stump , here is my feedback: (part 1)

It is resonable, though there is few artropods (group that includes insects, arachnids and crustaceans such as shrimps and krills) in general that exhibit parental care, specialy in the ocean.
But if there is a thing in Biology that we learn pretty fast is that EVERYTHING HAS AN EXCEPTION. It is the science of life, and life is pretty much a big mess. So yeah, it is possible for the Krills to take care of their youngs, though I believe you will not find a correspondence to this behaviour in Earth krills.
The growing part is correct when talking about arthropods in general, though they are not constantly growing. They only do so when they "shed" their old exoskelleton, which makes their growth rate looks like a never ending ladder when put on a graphic. Right after the shed, they are quite soft and squishy, but it does not take long for it's exoskelleton to harden again, so they grow during this short period.
The soft shells in the larval (wyrm) fase is also ok, but at least in insects, legs are always present (I don't remember about crustaceans though). But if we make a correspondence between krill's legs = insects wings, then they can show up later in life.

As for them all being "girls": being able to lay eggs not necessarely means you are exclusively a female animal. We have animals with both male and female reproductive systems, called hermaphrodites. BUT, since nature is hella weird, we also have females capable of reproducing on their own without the need for a male partner, which is called parthenogenesis. Some species of sharks and lizards are among those with this capability. So you can choose if krills are really all female, with no male around, or if they have both reproductive sistems on them.

I think the only thing I would change is the part of only laying eggs once in life. They are farly longevous for arthropods (3 years to reach maturity is a long time grabing mommas backs) which usualy implies that they can reproduce more than once in life. So yeah, I would let them have more babies and I would have most of them die because natural selection is evil and cruel.

A correction: In animal life adulthood = sexual maturity.

All of this said, I still have a few questions:

1. Do krills go through metamorphosis, aka build a cocoon to stuff themselves in and come out a few weeks later as a beautiful evil butterfly?
2. How many eggs do they lay? Do they guard the eggs?
3. What do they eat? How they feed the babies?
4. Do they have natural predators?

1. No. As time goes on and they grow from the wyrm to pup stage their exoskeleton becomes harder and stronger as they shed and grow new ones
2. a clutch is between 1–3. Mama krills can’t guard the eggs (she has to hunt for herself), so they’re designed to look like rocks for camouflage and safety, however she will return to the nest to sleep
3. Im still working on this, likely mantas. Wyrms might be confined to butterflies until they become large enough to eat mantas. but this is still a wip, i’m working on how they relate to the larger ecosystem
4. Probably them turtle things. And/or Ancestors and Elders

My theory: krills don’t feed. They are guard dogs of the wasteland, sent there by the king to hunt down the few survivors of the rebellion and that stayed there after Eden went kabum. Since they did not received any new orders, they follow what they were ordered before: stay there, patrol the area, don’t let people through and kill on sight
Problem is, kids can’t really die. We just loose light with an impact that to ancestors would have brought immediate death (goodbye sternum and ribcages! Hart goes bum alongside lungs and liver. You pretty much organ juice after being krilled)

But the bird is the most confusing thing. When you walk on it, it seems to be made of snow, and bigger than the usual.
I've heard talk if the megabird... maybe a tribute to it? But the snow is so held together...

@wispy canopy darkstone from concept art was made differently but i guess you could say they're of a similar concept to the power diamonds we have for the game's current version

if you're talking about the red stones in eden from the eden diamond, i think you can call it dark stone since general consensus here (iirc, correct me if i'm wrong) is that power diamond is equal/similar to darkstone and the eden diamond is basically a large power diamond
