I've been considering making a system of files (or a blog) that go over plausible theories and ideas that are generally recognized as fanon, but as it stands, I'm still piecing it together and compiling evidence I find from others and in game and since I'm very new, I don't have a lot of the information veterans might have off the cuff.

Basically, I want to see if I can collaborate a doc that's always updating that gives new people a tour of the fanon, canon, and fun ideas. Explains what many theorize is megabird, king, prince, skids, vocabulary, ect.

is there a system to this chat? People who are responsibility for collecting and compiling data for the lore? Experts on the canon? Someone or ones who vet and verify evidence ingame or otherwise?

It was a mining accident, not a flood.
The official spirit name stands as 'Miner', that explains the pickaxes when they were trying to save other 'Forest citizens/people'

That might be a good idea. Right now I'm just working on a drafting faze, and hoping to build up a small community of like minded over time after I prove to others, and myself, that I'm pretty committed to sky and it's lore.

It's not something that'll kick off right away, obvs. It'll be a little while, and someone might do it before me. (And by all means, I welcome it. I just noticed there's a need in this fledgeling ecosystem of sky)

It's just, it's hard for newbs and moths to get in to the lore stuff because the only place to find lore are discord discussions, missing livestreams, and Google docs that are kind hard to pick through.

I'm thinking of organizing it by the few major theories, providing the evidence, additions, and of course credit to those who chalked up the idea.

But I've also run in to my fair share of abrasive responses regarding new theories others are more familiar with. It doesn't bother me, but I remember that not everyone wants to engage with new faces, so I try to be aware.

I do appreciate it though. This community has been relatively friendly all around. (and I figured Megan was a magabird meme name but no one explicitly told me)

(That doesn't mean it doesn't interest me, but for the database stuff, everything that's out in the open will be things that moths can find.)

Honestly, I had a really dumb moment yesterday at 3 am while doing a picture run (where I run around taking pics of interesting things.)

And like... I'm in the isle of dawn, and I'm like, "holy crud, there's a lot of boat imagery here! Why is that?"

It took me a half hour to remember that isle of dawn is dedicated to the ferryman. Wasn't my brightest moment, and now I have a bunch of pictures of boats.

First of all, in the timeline
Eden and the night level didn’t exist yet, darkstone is incorporated different, there’s no dark elder creatures around the mountain, the king isn’t a huge dude trapped in the storm throwing spears anymore, and there wasn’t a battle of creatures

And yeah, I thought the krill would have more to meet the eye too! In Journey, the monsters in that game were created by the ancient civilization out of greed, but greed isn't the themes of this story so I don't think they would recycle that concept.

I'm torn. Thematically, it's a story that's about defying what's natural in the world to obtain power (at least, that's what I'm picking up on.) From the edan theories, and the theories of king.

So, in my mind, they can be two things. A) They're a natural byproduct of the diamond, and the krill came to return balance to the world. In a world of extremely bright light, there's going to be very dark shadows.
B) They were created intentionally to retain power by those who support or oppose king.

That's an option. But it's a bit counter productive to beat the crud out of kids until all of their light is gone before they go to edan and getting the crud kicked out of them until all of their light is gone.

I mean, our goal is to restore wl to those who remain in edan, if the krill had good intentions, why would they stop us from bringing light to those who fell to the darkness?

From what i understand in the story (my theory rn based on what ppl said here and what i saw)

• prarie: butterfly farming for light power [they're placed in pots]
• forest: turning light pots into diamonds by mixing light [the flame we see in the cutscene with something else]
• wasteland: the diamonds are powered there [probs why its now a wasteland and dead area]
  -eden: was the capital, now its the core of where everything ended

I think in order to ascend, they need to fly. I think the kids in edan are actually trapped.

The statues are the accidental powersource who's spirits are stuck in the storm and needs winged light to escape and ascend.

The winged light is used to help them escape because the statues don't have the power to get out.

My theory is that after the elders fell, a lot of the land just fell from the sky and hit the ground.

The elevation between the top of the races, and the coliseum changes drastically from snowy tundra to just dessert.

Yeah, earlier today I was talking about starting a database or a wiki.

My intentions are to basically build up a database where there are clear lines between conjecture, fanon, and dev approved canon. That way when new people join, they don't have to read through outdated docs that are defunct (and then finding out they're defunct later), and veterans have a reference point.

It would also hold common vocab words, meme words, commonly understood concepts, and a place where we can guess the translations of murals.

Although the idea that the people of sky aren't the only ones are compelling.

Something minor I noted is that on home island, you can hear gulls, but when you're on isle, sanctuary, and other places with ocean, you don't hear anything.

It makes me wonder how far away it is since seagulls are never really shown and that's a distinct kind of bird.

It could have been a thoughtless ambience, or its an indication that home is somewhere else.
