The water harms you. It drains you of light, ever so slowly, like it hungers for some sense of warmth. You don’t know why. It’s certainly not the crabs, they don’t turn the water to a murky black. There’s a frightened refugee, climbing up high to avoid getting stuck. There are pipes, taller than three of you combined, and you wonder what they were used for. Perhaps they were used to transport people, or they were slid down for fun! At least, you hope they were.

They look daunting and abandoned now.

You enter the crumbling building, only to see krill. They lurk and hunt, shedding off ash like dead skin. It settles in the water, corrupting it even more. The manta cannot survive here, but the krill grands it some mercy. A quick death was better than a slow one. It is still horrifying, but you’ve learned to detach yourself a little.

The water doesn’t move much, a few ripples will spread when a child falls in. Luckily for us the krill won’t notice, they’re deaf to our worries. They’re deaf to the environment. You wonder what sort of utopia this used to be, with it’s magnificently sized walls and statues of some presumed king.

There is a forgotten ark, with a broken ship, some lost spirits, and some tainted water. You traveled far and risked danger to save them. The land healed itself again, the krill in the mountains can’t reach you here. It leaves you hopeful, perhaps the rest of the land can be healed as well!

You wonder what caused the water to become so harmful in the first place. You think that perhaps corruption has spread to it to. Perhaps the krill had a hand in this. Their hate has spread from themselves to the land. You stand there, worried and cautious, and hope that one day, you can save this too.
