In a way, it’s more like Skyworld rose up into darkness— as you go up Prairie looks shiny and happy, but subtle signs of decline and decay increase as you move toward the temple : broken boats, dark plants etc. Higher up and the Forest rain goes toxic, Valley looks mostly okay but buildings are rekt and the temple is fulla more darks plants n crabs, Wasteland has krills beaming death from above, Vault is a purgatory acid trip elevator, and Eden stormlock isthe highest part of all

It's unclear whether or not spirits inhabited all the realms at once, or whether it was more like a mass migration as the society grew and developed

I'm inclined to think it wasn't a migration because based on the nature of civilization, people only migrate if they have a clear incentive to. I believe people settled down and formed families in each realm, and the different levels of technological advancement in the realms were a result of the trade system.

Daylight Prairie processed and packaged raw materials (butterflies), which then got sent to be molded into diamonds by Forest, who sold diamonds in exchange for entertainment to Valley, and so on. The fact that the technology gets more advanced as you move through the realms (and thus the darkness also increases) is simply a result of the linear direction of the trade system.

well when i observed crabs they were actually moving almost randomly while the krills were on a deformation curve, i think this is to enhance gameplay maybe, but it could also show how the crabs are more sentient?

Anyways. Sometimes I think we could associate the 7 Seven Deadly Sins with the Elders. (Eden King/prince too, even tho it's just a concept).
I noticed prairie elder is very sleepy so Sloth came to mind.
And I sort of came up with these:

• Isle: I have no clue honestly

• Prairie: Sloth

• Forest: Greed (Power hungry and stuff. The cutscene is kinda self-explanatory)

• Valley: Envy (They kind of fight for the Skykid's candle)

• Wasteland: Wrath (haha war go brrrr)

• Vault: pride???? (Not sure about this one)

The sin theory is mostly just an interesting connection I made. I don't really think they are meant to represent them

The sins idea got me thinking about what the mistakes of all the elders were. Here's how I think each of the elders contributed to the spread of darkness:

Isle: being passive and choosing inaction

Prairie: being ignorant about the repercussions of his actions

Forest: being stubborn and power hungry

Valley: taking advantage of the others' questionable actions

Wasteland: being headstrong and realizing the truth too late

Vault: knowing what she was doing was wrong but doing it anyway

Eden: giving in to the ultimate temptations

Like Wasteland is fighting something that isn’t there and Prairie is sleeping rather than working, which is what Prairie was basically focused on

Valley is fighting for the light rather than sharing it and Vault is forced to showcase the sins the elders committed

Isle was rid of his control over the birds and began sort of crumbling

Then Eden just straight up died

Probably because there’s no redemption for what Eden did

i think the core game loop has a set story that doesn't change really

but the seasonal content and a lot of the additional features/entertainment is to build up the world rather than the lore

that might be a more fun perspective without being tied down to the correct answer about everything

of course, we can't make something that ruins the entire lore either though

i think they're not petrified or anything. they really dont have branches and leaves, or are cloud trees. i looked at the murals in the first area of forest, in the small cave. none of them were drawn with leaves eventhough during that time, the corruption hadnt happened yet. there were also murals of pots of light on boats being shipped to Forest, indicating that there was no corruption yet

There are 3 types of creatures, dark, light and neutral
Neutral creatures have physical bodies such as flesh and bone, dark and light are simply made of light and dark essence
