So this is about the theory of diamond production and the purpose of flying boats. Boats are mainly for the use of carrying pots of light. You can see these pots of light being made at prairie and I say pots of light because there are butterflies put inside them. In the wave emote cutscene, u can actually see one of the flying boats carrying pots of light.
These pots are being shipped to forest to make power diamonds, they combine the light with organic material at forest and use a diamond press to combine them into an artificial Star, or what we call “power diamond”. You can actually see the concept of this by looking at the forest temple door mural. To add even more details, right when u enter forest the text on the bottom says to “find the source of an ancient power”. The pic below is another way of looking how power diamonds are made and how forest built them. This diamond press in the picture is also seen at the golden wasteland, and there’s a krill flying around it. It may be broken down but it is noticeable that it is the same factory. Also the shipwreck at wasteland is seen to be carrying certain pieces of this diamond press, it goes to the top and sides. Now I know there’s boats everywhere and not all of them are carrying pots of light, so I jus assume they are for transportation since the people on the ground can’t fly naturally

Another theory I had is that the crashing whale on the side is what caused the rocks to fall in the cave

To take this even further, the purple cape stress spirit with the bow and arrow is the one who accidentally shot the whale causing it to crash and that’s why she had the stress emote in the end

Think about this:

The prairie elder creates butterflies and whatnot. We see other elders like isle elder who uses the light you give them for their wand, the forest uses it for armor and weapons

@twilit tulip also, from what i understood by reading here and the docs is that, the spirits were using light creatures like butterflies and mantas as a power source. that's the purpose of the jars, to keep the butterflies. they extracted the Light from them. The ghost mantas you see in vault is a result of that extraction but without completely draining it of its light. If they did drain it, the manta will turn to be a creature of Darkness, like the krills.

So, the spirits were divided into two sides. One who fights for natural light source, represented by the sun shield, and one who fights for diamond source (overextraction of Light ig), represented by the diamond shields. the Battlefield wasnt a war between spirits and krills but a war between spirits and spirits.

The krills are the result of that overextraction. they attack anything with light because they want their light back but they cant. Some say its original form was a whale, and some Light Dragons

It's an interesting theory...perhaps they were trying to fix eden...after all, the enchantments they were carrying, the glowing balls of light, have the power to create light, wind, purify the water, grow plants etc...maybe they were on a mission to restore the balance in Eden...
