So this is about the theory of diamond production and the purpose of flying boats. Boats are mainly for the use of carrying pots of light. You can see these pots of light being made at prairie and I say pots of light because there are butterflies put inside them. In the wave emote cutscene, u can actually see one of the flying boats carrying pots of light.
These pots are being shipped to forest to make power diamonds, they combine the light with organic material at forest and use a diamond press to combine them into an artificial Star, or what we call “power diamond”. You can actually see the concept of this by looking at the forest temple door mural. To add even more details, right when u enter forest the text on the bottom says to “find the source of an ancient power”. The pic below is another way of looking how power diamonds are made and how forest built them. This diamond press in the picture is also seen at the golden wasteland, and there’s a krill flying around it. It may be broken down but it is noticeable that it is the same factory. Also the shipwreck at wasteland is seen to be carrying certain pieces of this diamond press, it goes to the top and sides. Now I know there’s boats everywhere and not all of them are carrying pots of light, so I jus assume they are for transportation since the people on the ground can’t fly naturally

To me, it seems very likely the diamonds were used as a power source and capable of other magics/mechanisms as we see them used to lock/open doors.
Large diamonds (not sure if they’re the same thing) are used in vault to power the elevators and provide lift, and it seems that in the vault elder cutscene, the power diamonds are able to store memories or visual depictions as the power diamond tossed into the air by the vault elder starts a sequence of showing murals in the air. The vault of knowledge is also presumably given its name, a place where knowledge is stored and catalogued like a library or archive. The vault has an actual room designated as an Archives. Maybe, the archives is where memory drive-esque power diamonds where stored, and then the elevator area is where one would take a chosen diamond and “view” the stored knowledge/memory.
Then we have the giant diamond in eden. My two theories about that are:
- the large diamond was created either by greed, the king trying to accumulate as much power as possible (the diamond is located in eden, presumed to be the king’s throne or residence at least rather than Valley which is the center of the spirits civilization), or even altruistically. Maybe the king and others were trying to build a diamond large enough to power the entire civilization.
- The beam shooting from the diamond could be purely accidental as the mass of energy stored in the diamond ruptured out, or in the process of the diamond cracking to whatever reason (the darkness?) the energy is leaking out. Ooooor maybe the beam of light isn’t entirely accidental. Perhaps, the large power diamond was the end goal of the spirits who built a power diamond with enough energy to beam them back up to orbit, their ancestral home. They had their intentions in getting everyone back home, but their methods were corrupt and resulted in their downfall.

Also the energy coming off the diamond is most likely, if not already confirmed, is what is powering and fueling the crazy dangerous storm above eden and it’s possibly the same storm that played a part in the forgotten ark’s crash

The Ark is fleeing from the wasteland as it falls to corruption. However with all the lights it has inside the Ark it causes an unnatural storm. The Ark is whipping through the mountains, trying to avoid them. However a Krill charges at the Ark, the Ark swerves and avoids the Krill, but they slam RIGHT into the mountains, tearing up the oars and making the ship lose control and crash land into the area it is now.

Both produced them and now look at the state of their realm. Forest was a minor factory, the one that started it all, so that’s prolly why it’s not as terrible as wasteland
But wasteland....there’s tons of factories, bigger ones too, I believe they took the diamond production too far

These are spirits that cant naturally harness light like skykids can, thats why they resorted to using butterfly’s light (maybe killing them in the process) to power their ships/elevators/vault crystals/doors

The vault ancetor you mentioned, to me they are the SoE spirits, the leader in front of the ark is the quest giver. That mural suggest how they come to the forgotten ark land.

yeah i was assuming they are the seasonal spirits but that perhaps the tale of these spirits is also the tale of all spirits in terms of bringing the storm. however, of course, i could be wrong about that! one thing i just had pointed out to me too is that the orbs with light in could be related to the orbs of light you collect within the seasonal quests. i didnt even think about those orbs of light in the quests at ALL, so thats something to think about too!!!! also didnt consider it being the quest giver, the thing on the head just stumped me hahaha
