Though as Reika pointed out, it is tilted 23.5 degrees.

It could be a globe of the sky which would make more sense, as there's another smaller sphere inside, which could be the world we are on. Then those 2 blobs in the next outer globe could be prevailent stars or clusters, and the outer ring, possibly a galactic ring?
Dare I say the body of the Megabird surrounding everything?

Yes there are 5 spheres, I've just gone on a field trip

So maybe the 4 smaller ones are clocks of different types, maybe a quartz or "power crystal" one, celestial one, atomic? one and some other measurement one.
So now it's just a matter of figuring out the individual sections of the biggie, I believe there are 3 distinct sections...

So the innermost solid sphere and next outer sphere rotate in the same direction, anticlockwise from the gate pov
The outer most rotates in the opposite direction, clockwise from the gate pov

So that kinda rules out my theory of the inner sphere being the ground and first being the sky, unless the stars geostatically rotate (which may be a possibility in the world of sky)

I took a GOOD look at the krill today and it seems like u were right, they do have something beneath their head. It moved like a leg so it’s hard to identify what it is. It could be an oddly placed set of legs, moving horns, a jaw, teeth, a weird body part, or maybe even an entire mouth

The creepy thing is, it moved up and down as if it was chewing something....and it jus got done devouring a manta. I’ll have to speculate more but thanks for giving me something to look at boop

Ok I wanna hear what everyone wants to say about the new seasons lore, let’s make theories about the colored lights I wanna hear y’all SPEAK

my theory is that we’re rewinding time in the ark area by restoring things that were taken away from it to the other realms

This is my view and opinion on the backstory of the ark. The spirits from the season of lightseekers found this mysterious light source and decided to share it with the scholars, they then adapted it to make new powers, psychic, illusion, fire, water, air and earth. Scholars had an idea to change the world with this power, to seek prosperity and change, probably to undo the damage in wasteland. When the season started it even said that these spirits were on their way to prosperity. But with all that power and all the orbs in 1 single ark, it attracted a deadly storm and caused them to crash into a deserted place. They were stuck here without a way out so they decided to adapt to their environment and wear clothes for the desert and we see them as “turban” clothes. One of them even made a farm. With no way out, another one of the scholars painted murals on the ark so someone could know their story and maybe one day, someone will find the ancient ark buried underneath the sand and return the lost lights.

Just started playing this week.. I was thinking the other day about how we have to sort of free spirits after visiting a series of their memories and got to thinking that maybe winged light were just memories of our sky children that we collect to free ourselves and go back to ||eden|| to ||free ourselves as well and restart the cycle of life|| . It sounds a bit far fetched but this means that we are affectively revisiting past iterations of ourselves as we grow throughout our life span. Going to hug the lonely child then almost represents a coming to terms with the entirety of one's life after going through the memories again. Maybe the high entity is not in-fact someone entirely separate from us but more in line with buddhist reincarnation,, potentially the highest life form we can achieve. An ideal being almost, after having been a positive influence in the lives of the many you met along the way (karma?)

I don’t think it’s quite like that because Eden is completely optional, and you don’t have to go if you don’t want to. Death is not. I think that it’s just a different child coming to terms with death each time. It’s possible that the child isn’t even dying— maybe it’s a metaphor for grief, not death. The benefits of facing grief include wisdom and experience (wingbuffs). Neither of these are recieved in reincarnation because you don’t remember your past life. The skychildren, however, do retain memories prior to Eden, because they retain all their emotes and cosmetics.

Hugging the winged light may be a hug goodbye, the wave is bittersweet, the child seems to lose all the winged light (memories), but finds them again later, and wingbuffs give them more memories

Maybe it’s not a physical rebirth, but something more emotional

Or maybe I just love metaphors so much that I’m putting them where they don’t belong

Well I would hardly say eden is optional.. In the sense that it is almost clinging to one life and not being able to come to terms with death and grief, therefore not allowing oneself to ascend (wing buff). You can avoid it all you want but it is always there, looming, the biggest portal. Coming to terms with death and the cycle and entering it to brave the storm anyways is our biggest challenge mentally and physically and it awaits us always. But I think we're trying to make the same point with different words. In reincarnation the person doesnt remember anything but the higher self the soul does it carries that wisdom through all its subsequent lifes

I was trying to get at exactly what youve restated

Buddhism emphasizes that grief and suffering are a part of life much as the eden portal is a part of our home. Whether or not we accept it/enter it is up to us but it is a part of us regardless

Now that I think about it, it’s less about ascending, but more about helping. About sacrificing yourself and learning. You aren’t fulfilling yourself, you are using your life to accomplish greater things for others. You are rewarded for this, but it’s not about the reward. Well, I suppose it has become about the reward, but I'm talking about the gameplay itself. It’s about saving those who have been lost for so long. You suffer for them, but you emerge with strength. It doesn't have the silent acknowledgement of grief... it has a hint of something else... something more altruistic than simply achieving higher forms of yourself.

You look at it like it's impossible, but there is a beauty there when you finish. The hug at the end... It's a forgiving hug.

I think it's a translation slip. We don't have gender neutral pronouns so it might be because of that.

They had sand and fire, and glass reflects and strengthens light, so in theory they would have wanted to use it for some purposes. However nowhere in game are there windows or anything out of glass. Is there any dev confirmation that Sky isn't a direct sequel to Journey? Because it would fit the idea of cycles, and have the statement "if only they had listened" make sense. While yes the previous generation (in this case assuming the "clothkids" in journey) did learn somewhat from its previous generation, about war and fighting for power, they seem to have still went on to become carried away, consuming all the light they could get until the darkness came and pushed them to what we see in sky.

My headcanon is after we die in Eden we also become statues but eventually receive winged light from another skykid and are revived just like some statues we see in the Eden cutscene. So the hugging scene is happening in our dream and the shiny boy we hug is winged light sacrificed by our own kind. I think our physical body broke to pieces in Eden and we are practically bodiless until we reborn.

Like there’s crabs in forest, crabs in valley, krills and crabs in wasteland, and crabs in vault. Is it possible that the darkness is leaking out of eden?
@drowsy spoke I personally think that because Eden was originally called Storm that it’s like Eden is the part just around the eye of the storm, if it weren’t for the wind wall (which is accurately placed for what I’m about to say) the diamond would be the calmest place in the entire map, because it’s the eye of the storm. So my theory is that there’s this hurricane that feeds off of light, and that it’s strongest in Eden. Wasteland is just before it, and the vault of knowledge is a literal sealed off vault (in which you can seek shelter from the storm). In valley there’s crabs because the storm passed over there at one time and brought them there, this can be evidenced by the half-broken Citadel (it could’ve been broken by, say, strong winds, krill and falling rocks.) Forest would be on the windward side of the mountain, which would cause, yes, trim rain. But because the storm on the mountain is made of darkness, it rains toxic water there. Daylight prairie, although it’s safe now, is not untouched by the storm. You see, the buildings are damaged, and it doesn’t look like it was from wear and tear over a long period of time, but because of strong winds carrying heavy rocks. Same goes for isle of dawn. You can also find a lot of broken boats in places boats generally don’t belong all throughout the kingdoms. These could’ve blown over there because of a hurricane. So long story short: The spirits all died in the Eden hurricane, which then rolled on over to where it is now.

What I’m also saying is that Eden itself as a location does not cause darkness.

PLOT TWIST: The Eden's wind storm is actually its last defense to keep the Darkness from consuming the Crystal. still standing up to this day, and that's why we go there. to bring back the lights to the consumed Sky Kids in hopes of building back an army strong enough to repel the darkness forever before it consumes everything else

Hehe, I don't come around here often but a picture a friend found on Twitter that someone snagged made me think of a theory this channel might find interesting?

You can see next to the silhouette of the corrupt king, there's a little white glowy child - and they have a shine around their head, which when the mask on the right is compared to it, they seem to emulate the same shape. As though this white figure is the Prince, and his mask tried to emulate the "holy shine" he wore.

That being said, the appearance of the Prince is jarringly similar to our own and if you compare it to the skykid next to the Isle Elder they're even the same height; I think the Skychildren were made in his image, as we don't even really come close to resembling any other Ancestor Spirit or even Elder. His cape is clearly very similar to ours and, hopefully the image isn't too blurry as I had to screenshot it, he even wears the "default/moth shorts" underneath.

And with the screenshot I took of the notes document where the "shiny bois" nomer was mentioned, especially as something they maybe shouldn't say, it made me think maybe the stars/children of light we collect are actually imprints of the Prince, and the child we hug at the end of Eden/beginning of Orbit (Limbo) might not necessarily be ourselves, but the King trapped and returned to his original form - wingless, as he "can't be saved." After all, the winged light child is "a character you are connected to," also implying it's images of the same child and not multiple, and, if we're made in the Prince's image, that makes sense to me.

It's based on concept stuff as it stands though so of course I can't necessarily say it can be proven but!! I think it's interesting to think about!

And to add, the Prince design seems to resemble the glow spell which also made me think of this "Connected" skykid design and how that one is considered much,, I guess "holier" - it's even further back in the concepts but I thought it was neat to think about hehe

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure - I imagined it has something to do with being very connected to the Megabird, because he's supposed to kinda be her "holy gift" in a way - we know the light creatures can/do glow and that flame is a connection to the heavens in a way, so I figured perhaps since he was meant to be so holy, he glowed like fire?

i had my own theory that the winged lights are part of a constellation (collectively referred to child of light, represented by glowy boi). megabird sent both of us down to earth to try to remove the darkness like a self-regulating cycle. we return the winged lights to orbit and they allow us to give light. then they fall again to the earth, and we are reborn again
