Another thing I’m wondering about is the boats- specifically the ones we see in Isle. They all seem to have been carrying jars that had butterflies in them, so they were likely going somewhere, and came down at the Isle at around the same time.

When saving the statues in Eden, the children seem to be made of two parts that need to be reunited: the 'stars' (bright children scattered across the world, gazing upward) and the 'statues' (grey children covered in darkness, all in cowering positions facing the Eden Crystal). After you give a star to a statue, they gain wings and become bright again.
During the rebirth sequence, the player loses all their stars and turns grey and darkness-covered, becoming like the 'statues'. After succumbing, they find a bright child (a star?) and unite with them, reviving the player enough to fly to Orbit for rebirth.
The players and the statues seem to be one and the same. After dying, you receive one star to save you– this happens when you run out of light in other places, as well as in Eden. But where does this star come from?
I think the stars for dying skykids are the same stars given up by players in Eden.

I think the sequence where the dark skykid hugs the light kid happens in all statues that receive a winged light.
after the player dies they also become a statue just like the others, and another player has to rescue them. that’s when we experience the hug sequence ourselves.

but we know sky has a 24-hour day-night cycle because that's how it works in home-space.

This may have been discussed before, also I’m sorry for totally changing the topic- but what if spirits are like, grown up skykids?? There’s holes in that theory but I thought it was interesting to think about at the time I guess

uU @lilac glen i actually had a whole theory tied to this speculation. If we were to assume sky kids grew up into spirits then the story could be build the same way journey was. so SPOILERS if u haven’t played/watched Journey. In journey at the end you are shown the mural which portrays the cycle our characters goes thru. Firsts the land is gifted with light from the giant mountain, then civilization starts to appear and grow, they create new technologies & machines, then a war or at least some form of conflict breaks out, whipping out the people but leaving the machines behind (scarely similar to krill in nature). At last, a messenger is brought to life, who travels and dies at the mountain only to be resurrected. It shows that now another civilization can appear but the cycle will repeat itself.
Now if u put that next to “sky kids grow up” theory we can speculate that the sky kingdoms go they the same cycle. Sky kids see the remnants of last civilization, built their own, maybe try to fix eden (?) trigger smth and get wiped out yet again. This could be tied to the voice at the beginning saying smth similar to “i tried to warn them/they didn’t listen/now i call to you”, which suggests that there is some kind of cycle here, smth repeating

What I know is that they are not of the same species or kind bc the spirits would have reborn if they are the same. I think sky kids are machine-like beings made to resurrect/save ancestors from darkness. Skychildren also have this diamond shape on their foreheads which, as we know, diamonds are used to power mechanical things in sky

Each realms represent stages of life. Like Isle being birth, and Eden being death. The other parts of lore like origins of the Spirits and Elders, old Sky concepts, etc. are all on your interpretation.

While doing a wing run on Wasteland I noticed something at the area where you find the first Krill
That one you head left to climb up some rubble
It's broken and beaten up but the big structure at the left of the map is the same thing that is on the Hidden Forest's temple ceiling

While DMing Jay I came up with a small thought about the Diamond Factory structure. During the last cutscene we see the Diamond Press (as Jay called it) going from a silver/golden color to a bright red.
If you put a crab over a torch it will start to turn a bright red too.
During the Forest Temple cutscene the windows at the temple open up, letting some mantas in. I think it's a ventilation system of sorts to cool the Diamond Press down so that it doesn't overheat

In my mind, the mountain is like a dormant volcano, or made in abyss if anyone else is a fan
And the whole tower actually goes all the way down, it’s a bit dark but what you see above the clouds is actually just the tip and it’s where all the riches live, and the area under the clouds where the lights don’t reach (mainly inner walls) are kind of like slum. There isn’t any meshes to show that bc it’s an expensive level HAHA, but yes it’s outwardly pretty and extravagant. But....it’s also supposed to be hiding the slums too, since valley is the peak of civilization there’s also a side to it that’s also not pretty and the tip of the tower you see is like the top of the top so scholars, HAHA
Since technology and knowledge is so valued, the top two points (IN MY WORLD) are the twin towers, one with a clock and one with a celestial clock
And the scholars that reside there uses the armillary sphere to study the night sky!”
