There’s the beta cape that was awarded to people who beta tested before the iOS launch and will not be made available again, and there’s the founders cape which you can get from the secret area for real money. The beta cape is tgc blue and white on the underside while the founders cape is black on the underside

My guess is that darkness feeds off of spirit energy. If enough is consumed and there’s enough people in the area then it forms a krill

ginsy my idea is that its because its not an area for a race, but a street in between apartment-like buildings. made for parades, not races. there was something in the tomcepts that made me think it was for that purpose, and thats where the prince's parade marched before he was crowned king in the coliseum where spectators could watch, like how they do it in movies and stuff

its just been left alone and empty for so long that it was covered by snow in the time that passed between whatever happened and the time of sky children descendants coming into being

I mean vault is what the spirits left over before extinction and they stored all their knowledge there and even memories. Those lanterns contain everything. I think it would’ve been cool if we could access those lanterns. They are holographic projectors after all. Why can’t we just access them ☹️

we don't even know if all the laws of physics we know are meant to apply to the world of Sky, but if they do, that water cannot be gasoline because gas is highly volatile and cannot keep its liquid form for long in open air

i added a couple of floating stairs towards the highest building, but during playtests, the player will accidentally hit one of the stairs if they let the game take control

There’s theories about the similarities of forest and wasteland when it came down to that part so I’ll put down what I think of it (I wouldn’t call it a theory yet? Since it was just a random thought of mine). Forest and wasteland elders may be have worked together to create weapons (since forest elder had an anvil and hammer) and I’m assuming that’s the other purpose for the light, to create diamonds not only for machines, but to strengthen weapons(?) or for light to strengthen the weapon (like taking light as magic to boost the attack/durability of the weapon). I don’t think of wasteland as a separate area but like the evolution of the forest area. When I saw the broken temple when I fell down from the cloud whirlpool, with the abundance of sand and less water around, I think this used to the the bridge of forest before going to the temple and that they drained all the water. With the next level when we see the first krill, that big turner thing or I assume is what they used to produce diamonds, was knocked down by the krill that we saw in that same area.

Welp that’s what I thought. It’s just really random and there’s some holes to it the more I farmed forest and wasteland. Like, forest is above the clouds while wasteland is below? But what I really think is, it’s another factory the forest elder made to bring in more diamonds to strengthen wasteland elder’s and his companions’ weapons. I’ve been practicing psychology analyses in sky n piecing together lore and I kinda found something dark in the motives of the megabird

Kinda messed up that the megabird’s solution to not having a species go haywire was to make a new one that is completely reliant on it

like the ancestor race could reproduce, invent, expand civilisation, etc independent of the megabird and excess greed was their downfall

there are other ways to make the next species less destructive/ work towards a final model, but instead the megabird goes full throttle and creates the descendant species that can’t invent (having to rely on spirits to get items), feel independently without external help (spirits too), have the chance to grow up and reproduce independently, and have their entire life dedicated to dying and sacrificing themselves over and over for the megabird

Interaction with other descendants gives the illusion of free will and keeps them placated, unknowing on what they’re missing out on bc the megabird winced too hard last time they got hurt

I know one requires a bit of stretch to apply human psychology to God Bird, but being extra careful after trauma is super understandable, but creating a system/ network of relationships based on over-reliance is not healthy

i think it’s possible sky kids can invent and feel independently, but we’re just such a new species that we haven’t developed much yet on our own. in that case we’re not dependent on ancestors, they just give us a headstart as a species by passing on what they’ve learned.

There have been instances in our world where species’ can learn from each other, despite the gaps in genetics and cognitive functioning, but those arise as a result of that difference to begin with; even in the earliest signs of civilisation in the isle, it shows as more advanced than what the descendants can achieve with the abilities bestowed unto them by MB

Additionally can’t think of any instances of creation/ invention in skykids except for reorganisations and reinterpretations of what was already taught to them (e.g. music, dance moves)

Perhaps that change in freedom/ autonomy may occur within the descendant species rather than afterwards.

But that will take time

If one has been conditioned to believe something, time = extinction of that conditioned thought after all

If Skykids can traverse Eden/Storm and are ultimately reborn, what damaged the Ancestors and Elders so badly that they're forever trapped in Orbit? But not only that, he gave the darkstone to the ancestors too. He was at full betrayal towards the megabird at some point, he was crowned king soon and the ancestors followed the king instead of being connected to the mb. So basically he dragged all of them with him

The most I can say is that the power diamonds replaced the concept of the darkstone and the ark was the last and most powerful creation of darkstone but for us, the huge power diamond at eden was the last and most powerful creation and instead of the ark exploding and creating the storm, the eden explosion is what made the storm.

Okay, so the ancestors died long before sky kids came to exist, right? But in the temple cutscenes we clearly see them interact with our kids. Which has me wondering if they aren’t in some kind of purgatory, having to show us what they did wrong so we don’t repeat their mistakes

Popping in for my regularly scheduled “once in a blue moon” post: was in shipwreck today and saw the krill there acting all weird, which led me to think about how all of the krill in the game have a set “path”, which then got me thinking... the mechanical krill theory is widely speculated, right? Well, it would make sense why they have their set paths if they’re mechanical - maybe whatever built/programmed them made it so they follow a certain path??

There’s theories on krills being man made and I sometimes follow up on them because they are very related the the guardians from journey, and the guardians are man made

But anyways, I think the set path is just a game mechanic

All creatures have a “set path” if u pay enough attention to them. The only way to break their path is to interact with them (riding the manta or getting a krill’s attention)
And if there’s no way to interact with the creature then they will continuously move on their set path forever
It’s a game mechanic, it would take way too much work if they gave them a mind of their own to move freely

Tbh I think they miiiiight be one of the weapon types the Wasteland Elder made, but further corrupt by the storm and the calamity in general to be more dangerous?

Though this does fall back a little on the concept art/timeline so it might not be accurate to the modern game, but in that we can see the light creatures had begun attacking and trying to destroy the Ancestors' civilization (and sacrificed themselves to destroy the Ark) and in the modern game we know light creatures were forcibly pressed into power diamonds (so I doubt they were very pleased in the modern game either) so it makes sense that the krill target and obliterate things like the manta on sight

Like the guardians in Journey, they'd be weapons of war - except instead of against each other, it was against nature - and as the corruption/darkness spread, the krill also became dangerous to the Skychildren (intended to be "descendents"/a subspecies of the Ancestors) and anything that housed light at all

Oh they attacked the ancestors because they didn’t like the idea of darkstone and they supported the light. They were once supporting the ancestors but then they turned on the light so it makes sense why the creatures hated them

If we are talking about current game lore, idk anything about krills

All I can think of in that regard (for possible reasons why) is that in the current game lore the light creatures didn't just want to be forcibly pressed into power crystals for the Ancestors and it led to a similar result

Bc after all are we really sure what fractured the Eden power crystal anyway? I may be missing something but if I'm not, it coulda been mother nature having a bit of a fight with the race that betrayed her cuz I doubt somebody just dropped it

Krill would be the right size to fight whales that the Ancestors otherwise would have a very difficult time taking down, I imagine - and larger size mantas, too, while Ancestors themselves would be able to take down smaller mantas and whatever else of that size range

They'd be like tanks and they've certainly got the brawn to match

Though it does make me wonder what exactly those skeletons in Wasteland belong to, because they're clearly not whales - and those assumed "megakrill" horns in Shipwreck got me bent I'm glad we don't have any of those in-game but they must've been a force to be reckoned with

i had a random thought about the idea that sky kids only copy emotions, without having their own. i thought of more evidence that that isn’t true, that i don’t remember anyone acknowledging.
although we get our regular emotes from spirits, we don’t get our friendship emotes from spirits (high five, hug, fustbump, etc.). this suggests we have our own emotions and can figure out how to express our own emotions on our own.
