The new structures in the cave area serve as steps from the inside of the cave to one of the holes on top, so they must have been added after the four spirits were trapped, as the trapped spirits would have used it as a means of escape if it was there when they were trapped, so other spirits must have gone into the caves at some point

And, at the top! Boats with sails and jars... and the jars contain diamonds. The diamonds activate and power the door. So I guess this answers a few things. The big jars are for transporting diamonds and the diamonds are a power source.

someone once suggested that the blue diamonds on the door represented the light they got from the cloud trees (in the cutscene the diamond goes up from the boat to a tree trunk that turns horizontally and then goes up to the big diamond) and the yellow diamond represents the light they get from butterflies from prairie (they come in jars)
so the door mural would be showing the different methods for gathering light the people had, and how light from different sources could be refined into technology

Ok after reading everything, I still kinda wanna stick by the theory that the Eden kid at the end is still half of you, because you ARE a hybrid after all and they have the same height as you. I also don’t believe that Eden kid is the same as winged light because it doesn’t glow the same way, it has so sundog around it like a winged light.

Additionally Vault isn’t referred to as an illusion or that it’s not real. It’s referred as a ‘surreal memory-like version of the real world’ (not a quote) but most importantly Vault is left up to interpretation and the way they leave the topic by saying “the mystery remains” makes me think they deliberately withheld whether it’s real, a projection, or whatever and as such didn’t give conclusive information about what Vault is (or the mystery remains could refer to the question that Atlas said he wasn’t going to answer because spoilers, what does the area with the cosmic whale and island with the shrine represent)
We could say that because earlier in that stream they mentioned the ”real world” we can infer Vault isn’t real BUT “the mystery remains” makes me think that’s not what the dev was talking about, instead by using the term “real world” they were simply continuing the parallel of Vault to each realm, or maybe they slipped up and gave us a spoiler. I personally don’t think we have enough to draw a conclusion either way what the dev meant when he said that

Last week when Jiisama pointed out the king-like star on top of the vault icon, I thought the vault could be one of the towers of Eden palace, but I dropped this idea because I remembered the mural in the isle depicting the vault and Eden separately

The vault might be the 'real world', but in a higher dimensional form. In that scenario, the rest of the world would fold down into much smaller representations of the actual levels, and we'd see higher level versions of things in the real world (thus the space mantas instead of regular ones)

Whether or not they’re a minibird, that child of light might be the Eden elder that’s not around anymore? In the intro the Eden elder comes from the clouds ⛅️ makes me think of mantas spawning into existence from light and clouds (I should go back and find that livestream quote)

@brazen solstice if you are talking about the skykids we give our lights to, my favorite theory is that we also cannot revive ourselves. After we died in Eden we also became statues but eventually got light from another child (which we cannot see because that happens while we are dead) and were revived just like some statues we see in the Eden cutscene. Just a theory tho.

It’s got credence because in beta those statues had the names of our friends. At the same time I like to sing the song of the megabird. Maybe what we need to do is en mass next livestream is ask all about Eden, the Eden elder, the king, and the megabird. There still hasn’t been a livestream about Storm..

I definitely feel like journey and sky are in the same universe, perhaps in the same world even, but at vastly different times. Journey is the ancestor. Different civilisation/species, but same... “magic” underlying both games.

A military salute and a look-around emote is present, but what happened? Who were they fighting? Another group of livings? If it was the krills, how did they fail?
Provided they actually fought, not simply did it as a celebration. We know barely anything of their culture apart from the elders and the stars

spirits can actually get damaged by krills. if you leave the open arm stance spirit by the krills vision, you can see its damage meter regenerating

From what we know, krills and crabs arent hostile againts eachother. Are they simply beasts or are they the minions of a larger cause? If so, why do they want to destroy the light?

Have u guys ever thought that all creatures are just spirits of light . We never physically touched them and when we ride mantas, we float. Also krills don’t really have a physical form either, u can try ur best to ride it but u will either go through it or get blown away by wind. Also when they attack you they don’t really physically harm they jus take away ur light

In the wasteland the first Krill that we see eats a light manta. So they are also attracted to other creatures of light, not just us.

i lost all my light in wasteland for fun once and i was still targetted. it’s probably more of a gameplay thing i think

funny enough, you can get targeted by two krills but when the first one hits the other one’s light goes blue
