though, i dont think they have the same power as AURORA/megabird considering they are in another universe. they might not control as much but they sure are deities in one way or another.
So, is Little Prince kinda like a Demi-God for Sky?
you could say that, i guess. Well, it depends on the way you look at it since the meaning of demigod is half mortal and half god. But.,, considering the last TLP quest.. they might be kind of mortal in sky.
interesting theory🤔
That's pretty interesting. Though, understandable. If I had to guess, Little Prince would probably be a moral with some caliber of godly power. Same with the Nine Colored Deer perhaps?
^ Agreed. The deer's power is more obvious due to its power to ward away Krills, a power we haven't seen before. Closest we have is the Krill repellant spell but the Deer emits out a strong energy. The deer appears to be more of a defender of light creatures, but they're not against extending assistance to sky people too since they guard the oasis. Since skykids are p much half light creature too they were willing to aid us.
im gonna answer in a sec my bladder is calling to me
The deer is still a better person than me for saving Herbalist. Twice.
i also agree to this. TLP also doesnt get attacked by krills as seen in the second-to-last quest in the starlight side area. Though, as much as the deer is a defender of light and i guess TLP is in a morally-gray area but still wouldnt hurt light creatures, i dont think they have light. I dont think that the stuff the deer gives us is the same light that AURORA has for the obvious reason that the deer isnt from sky originally.
And that darn Hunter. I will never forgive him. I gotta save up for a new outfit quick.
the hunter isnt actually a character in the movie. Guess they just needed a space to fill. also, i feel that the hunter is in a very morally-gray area, too. They are just doing their job which, again, if we follow the lore of the movie, all comes down to the fault of the princess.
Oh! Well, okay then. However, I'm still saving up for a new outfit. Perhaps a blue one.
Also, the Princess is on my bad list. Drama Queen.
blue outfits are nice !
and yea.. she sure overreacted but in the end it was all for manipulation to get the skin of the deer. Shes a disgusting person for the threat, especially for using it towards the person who probably loves her the most in the whole wide world. No matter what she does, her actions are NOT redeemable. It wasnt fully the kings fault for putting up a bounty for the deer.
The poison the hunter used fascinates me but I'm not sure if we can apply it to Sky's case. But them weaponizing the darkness to taint the waters of the lake was so crazy to me.
Her emote should've been Bloom Guide's

..this does make me wonder, too. The deer not having AURORAs light and stuff like that clearly showing that collab entities are not used to the world of sky, im not surprised that the herb gatherer got, well, poisoned. i dont think its that it wouldve hurt anyone handling it, im sure that normal sky spirits would be more used to it and wouldnt be at the verge of death after having used the poison considering its just darkness, but since the collab spirits do not have light, and then nothing to protect them from the darkness. Its kind of like needing to get a vaccine when going to opposite-climate countries because there are things there that your immune system isnt used to,
Seriously! If there's a "opposite heaven" in Sky, she'd probably go there
i very much agree. the lvl 4 blooms makes it fit even more
i was gonna make a floating emote for my fanmade sky spirit but now.. sighs /j
in a sense, you could call the shattering void 'opposite heaven', but not hell. But she doesnt deserve to be near my dear shattering guide
Needs to be locked up in the void/j
Shattering Guide? Who's that and where are they? I gotta see if they're a cool person

the shattering guide is inside of the shard memories !! theyre a non-spirit entity and show up as a darkstone diamond : )
Ah darn it. Where in the world am I gonna find a shard that has the Shattering Guide
You are always welcome to speculate on lore in conjunction with your OCs.
This channel focuses on the lore in the Sky Universe. Eventhough it is open to interpretation and thus suggest fanon being up for discussion, it may be best to have a platform for you to freely express OC and fanon stories.
do we know canonically how wasteland came to be? also what are shard memories supposed to be?
the red shards that give AC, when done open a meditation spot!! those meditation spots take you to the shattering void, but uh, all meditation spots are broken rn so its impossible to activate a red shard, much less enter the shattering void.
Let me know when it gets fixed. I wanna see the Diamond boi
im sure it'll be posted in one of the news or updates channels!! :3c
Shard memories are essentially what they sound like.
Fragments of ancient memories from a crystal we see at the epicenter of a massive chaotic Storm of Darkness and Destruction.
The final memory shows how the Eye of Eden Crystal was shattered, and quite possibly how the elders have fallen (this was mentioned in a text during the tutorial for Dawn).
ooh i see is that how eden happened? the crystal shattered rip
I heard and seen in concepts before that Wasteland was already a barren territory... so basically already a wasteland, denizens there were used to harsh conditions hence why it appears that only soldiers, merchants, survivors, etc. reside here. Although the case with eden and the tainting of the waters and by extension, the infestation of Krills actively made this worse.
This is officially the canon forum that Woodsworth posts in now
i need like a whole official lore doc i wanna flesh out stories for sky for my oc haha
From what we can see and metaphorically piece together, yes.
How did Krill come to be? Did they already exist and were beings of light who got corrupted or were they always twitchy stubborn flying fish?
i like the idea that they were that from the start just spawned in being angry little fish
Dark Dragons are corrupted creatures supposedly from the blast in Eden.
The nickname Krill was a fanname that stuck with the devs.
Omg wait you guys don't know how Prophecy(an oc) was created
Lemme get her thing rq
A common theory is that krills were light creatures that got corrupted. Ik I talked about this a few days ago lemme see if I can relink the discussion.
Ngl, I still wanna cook em.
according to a lot of fan theories, krills are widely regarded as corrupt mantas. I also agree on this theory but,, it seems that mantas only started being corrupt after resh became corrupted, and, well, in the prophecy murals it shows a krill BEFORE alef was even the king, and it could just be foreshadowing but .. i like to think of it more literally.
ik poison exists idk how stuff gets corrupted
You guys can just scroll down LOL.
How the corrupted krill idea was confirmed was from an interview with Jenova Chen.
When answerig a question about where the krill cam from.
what the heck is the creature in the clouds right before wasteland? doesnt seem like a dark or light one
this is also kinda confirmed! i personally think there are more ways for krill to appear, but the biggest bunch of em came from the sattering, thing is, i think that thos eare also just corrupt light creatures considering that when the light creatures were in the eden diamond they couldve gotten corrupted and during the shattering, they escaped.
It appears to be a light whale. They're the creature whose bones litter forest boneyard and wasteland's graveyard.
My guess used to be that they're from an opposite kingdom of Sky. Like a kingdom of void or something.
its a light creature! theyre called whales or leviathans and they look similar to elder mants
theyre also seen at the end of isle in LA
That is a whale
You see this creature in the caves of forest, on the way to wasteland (as yiu mentioned) and breaking through a building on its way to Orbit from above Eden.
There is an interesting story I did research on with this creature and with the game older version, Light Awaits
welp lore chat, its like 2 am and my brain is hurting so ima sneep. gnight!
According to my statistics, the Sky kids who sleep at least 8 hours a day are more likely to be... you won't believe it, less sleepy, amazing, right?
GN!
so much lore...
This is no time to be a smarty pants, Skybot. We're making theories
She (in a dark sense) literally should not and was not meant to be created, but I feel like it takes a lot of extremely powerful emotions for two elders to collide, which in turn wakes the megabird from its slumber, and that caused a feather from the megabird to fall and cause an Eden shard to get somewhat in-between Serena and Daímonas as Eden LITERALLY exploded entirely, but also due to the collision, Eden had repaired itself from the unfathomable grief(as Eden is here from immense grief, pain, sorrow, etc.) So like half of the world fricken reset, and a star was kind of born from the depths of a blackhole while a fricken galaxy sent some planets over to fix it all
Tldr: Woodsworth's new series is way more in depth than before
Copy pasted from Cozy, I sent all of my everything into Cozy lol. Anyway, this is how Prophecy, the Seraphim of Eden's Tears (or Seraphim, the Prophecy of the Megabird) was created.
WOODSWOETH JUMPSCAFE YAHAHAG
was the leader of eden bad i remember theres this whole dramatic mural at the end of vault
A leviathan is the massive dark creature featured in the Season of abyss nicknamed "king krill"
- source the game itself (even if it does not mention this in normal gameplay)
Tbh I just collect and review lore theories I agree with bc I too am making my own OC lore. Tbh, everyone can decide what they want and make up their personal conclusions, that's the beauty of Sky.
I could rewrite this and have it make more sense, I was VERY ecstatic when I first thought of it
ah, ive seen people refer to whales as leviathans too. i personally call the giant krill/dark creature the king krill
(thank you for the info tho!!!)
The massive creature scared me. I could feel my moff shake underwater when that thing appeared
for the whale. there is a dev joke about it being called "king tuna" lol
Seeing it gives a 'fish call' and seems to be either a greater or elder variant for the fish in Sky.
Similar to how mantas come in different sizes and the bigger ones have more complex/detailed bodies.
The giant whale looks cozy. I wanna hug it
Gigantic Whale Squish mellow when?/j

big fish i spent like 10 minutes once just watching it intrigued and terrified
Yep, there seems to be elder versions of certain light creatures, as seen in Season of Flight with the elder manta. They appear to be stronger too considering they break through whole rocks 😭 same with the elder whale after it just crushed one of Eden's towers just like that.
elder whale what was that? what season was that?
so many creatures i dont know about
Funnily enough when you see it breach through the vlouds on your way to wasteland.
I once had a bug where the clouds disappeared (I had no idea how that happened, lol) and noticed the whale kinda follows the skykids down the cloudy whirlpool.
Which is quite interesting to consider if tbis whale is following us to Eden and beyond.
Just the giant whale we see in forest, entrance of wasteland, and eden. I called it elder bc there's also a light creature in Sanctuary that resembles a whale haha. Kinda more of a Manta Whale Amalgamate.
That was a greater manta in season of Flight. The game gives us their name in the quest text. this was how we learned the larger variants were called Greater.
An elder manta an be found in Season of Sanctuary. Once you complete the final quest, the creature would appear.
ooh thats that big background creature
Ahhh okay okay. Finally I can put a name to them I've just been calling them Manta Whales all this time 😭 Mixed up Greater and Elder ones by accident whoopsie.
You are fine.
Lore is not set in stone (or more like the canon lore is not gospel that dominates other's theories)
Imagine getting a ride from the whale like you do with Jellyfish and Mantas! How far would it take you?
Would a Season called Season of Travel or Season of Dimensions do that? Have you hitch a ride on a whale and see other Sky dimensions beyond The main 7?

i wish and hope so
might be easier to program several small realms than one big new realm/area
Fun fact.
Orbit is technically an 8th realm.
A realm we can only visit from eden, has an elder (megabird), its denizens are the ascended ancestor spirits, and in terms of the idea of the realms representing the days of a wekk. Orbit sends skykids back to the starts to continue their journey (resetting the week)
also i talked to the elder spirit manta in vault he told me his name was Steven /lh
I would definitely like an extension story on Ark, or a season to least add some sort of market area in wasteland but I do see why it probably wouldn't be possible since Ark and Enchantment Guide already sell all the spells we need 😂
Bc to me there's a lot of implications that merchants trade or sell there. Especially with the case of the Abyss crew collecting those darkstones. To trade and sell perhaps? Despite being a wasteland, perhaps people took advantage not much people travel there to trade things under the table.
A Dark Market? /j XD
Dark Market
what are darkstones?
Selling pet Krills without safety permits/jj
Dark Market
They sell Winged Lights for 1,000 hearts.
Darkstones are the diamonds we see throughout the realms, the ones we power up with our light to open doors, powers the vault elevator, the boats in village of dreams/hermit valley.
Or what most theorists popularly call them as haha.
The ones I listed are the refined versions, I think the unrefined ones are the crystals we see in Peaks?
No wonder people are getting corrupted. The dark matter is literally spreading onto their hands like germs.
Darkstone, Diamonds, or crystals are a strange rock/ore found in Sky. Ancestors spirits were seen mining these and refining them into diamonds.
These octahedral diamonds are seen powering mechanisms, flying boats, floating platfroms and even entire buildings.
Black/blue ones are unpowered, glowing ones are powered, yellow are charged/powered ones that are usually activated by skykids, and red ones are corrupted by darkness.
Wash your candles and your hands Skykids. You don't know what has been corrupted or not
dives into the hidden forest pond that should do. also like how can we swim and yet rain hurts us? make it make sense tgc
You know that poison from season of 9 coloured deer is potent when us skykids cannot burn the bigger dark plants.
I felt like the rain in Forest is tainted with darkness as well 🤔 since we know that regular water doesn't actively harm skykids. But water in wasteland does.
Hence why darkness plants grow in forest.
that stuff absolutely looks potent tbf
So Skykids aren't immune to pollution?
Oh, they're gonna hate America
Also, how do Skykids eat? They probably eat something, but what is their diet?
arent they made of clay or something cuz everytime you hit a wall it goes clunk i dont think they can eat i mean tbf there has been food props
I wonder that too. I would love a season based on sky food. There's quite a few artists that have drawn what they think the food would look like. There's also a tumblr blog dedicated to sky food
Season of Cooking
Let them Cook!!!!
So far the props with food on the table like the bloom ones kinda look like bread or pastries 🥺
Sky kids sure love their tea, juice, and hot chocolate.
Yes season of nourishment/culinary. I want to see skykids prepare the dishes
It would be so cute if our skykids had an apron or a chef's hat.
Sky Masterchef season, let the elders judge 😂
honestly i wanna know how the ancestors tamed some of the creatures like the mantas to pull stuff
That would be so cool!
Imagine! Everything is all bright and tasty looking when perfectly cooked! Sky Kids have capes that look like soup or cake tiers! Accessories are pans and pots on their back for instant cooking action! Set up a pot of Light soup and share with others to regain energy and maybe earn some wax if the recipe requires a whole team to accomplish!
Imagine how funny it would be if you were struggling in PNR and you suddenly see a moff cooking Sky Risotto next to a statue
Have you seen my Oreo plushie?
Season of Wellington
Featuring Gordon Ramsey, Uncle Roger, Lynn Yamada Davis (Cooking with Lynja), and Jossua Weisman
(or feel free to suggest your own chefs, lol)
Can't forget my boi, Babish
true true
My Skykid's Risotto isn't gonna stand a chance to this lineup
💧
I really want a season to discover the backstory of the darkness dragons! What were they before being tainted? Why do they seek to destroy all light now? I want to know more about them 🤔
Season of the Dragon?
That would be cool
They’re confirmed to be corrupted, but we don’t know what they looked like before. Some theories I’ve heard include:
- The creature from the animation trailers with a spotlight on its head (confirmed to be adult versions of the little manatees)
- Whales

- Mantas, particularly elder or multi-wing mantas
- Some horrific combination of all of the above?
Use your imagination!
Oc lore moment
"This is where I come from?" Prophecy quietly asked herself. My mother and father, Horus told me about them. The Black Angel and Golden Demon. She clenched her hands with unease. "I come from... the storm?" Her voice quivered. "A tear of Eden? No, the Prophets told me I was the Seraphim." Prophecy sighed, staring at the rumbling, mountainous volcano of grief. Not even the mountain beyond Prarie Peaks was as intimidating as this breathing hill of pain. "Who... who were my parents? Who is Catbird? And Darling?" Prophecy paused. "What..." she hesitated. "Happened?"
Woodsworth jumpscare, Prophecy (the oc) is technically a "consequence" of the Eden eruptions
she's not actually a consequence, but she was born because of them
Also, Horus is
I'm not sure how canon it is but I've heard lots of people say it, there are murals in treasure reef underwater that show people from vault of knowledge (assumed by their clothes) "experimenting" on mantas (adults and babies), to find a way to extract their light energy (I think?) and the experiments corrupted them, and they became krills and krilled the people from vault
Hey, idk where to ask this but does the snowflake wand thing in aviary have anything to do with the next season? I’m trying to keep myself updated on the seasons so that I can try and get new outfits, I really want a bird themed one lol
No it’s for the fireworks show which I believe is on the first of each month? It was originally for the aviary fireworks festival
yep, it was a common practice for ancestors to drain the light from creatures to power darkstone, but the treasure reef murals also seem to imply some kind of experimentation to artificially create an elder manta for this purpose
that’s the dark side of darkstone power, it was created using cruel and unsustainable methods that ultimately had disastrous consequences
it wasn’t the stones themselves that were the problem, although mining for them did clearly have its own dangers, if you go near uncorrupted darkstone it’s harmless. it’s the overexploitation of nature to fuel it
you cannot eat money oh no
Oh ok then, do u have any idea of what the next season will be about?
Check the beta channels!! The season is currently in testing
skykids dont have mouths. A lot of moth species dont have mouths either. We're attracted to light. We fly. What if we're all moth
Explain the picnic basket though…
I just have a quick question. I may have just blanked on some details but why are there two Edens
is that hermit valley? apparently thats a bug lol
My lore reason for that is Eden was so good they did it again.
Oh. Huh. I was a bit confused
i think i came in to ask the same question a while ago LOL
One is an older graphic that was not removed in an update that added Eden to areas where there previously was none, which also added the event where you see the eruption with shards falling down on the realms.
The One in Hermit is a bug, although it does not interfere with normal gameplay. The intended eden still erupts and the shard event works (whenever it is time for one to land there).
heys guys, I believe it's a fair point to ask why the Nine-colored Deer only has 5 colors? (or at least it's the crescents I'm looking at and no, I haven't read the story either so feel free to enlighten me D:)
Absolutely 0 clue
this is just a glitch
also I've been thinking. the statues in the valley stadium and some in the starlight desert have noses. nobody else in sky has a nose except for the clearly human characters like the little prince and aurora. what's up with that?
With the new season, does this mean there was another kingdom in sky other than sky itself? When they mentioned princess in the season missions I had to do a double take XD
However I may be reading this wrong. I haven't played in months and decided to get back into it today, so I'm very confused XD
So I’m guessing the collab seasons are more stories within the world of Sky and less canon events, but that being said, there could totally be other kingdoms out there
Well, with this season with the nine colored deer, there's a small kingdom in that area with a princess [and I think king? I can't remember what they called it] so it kind of caught me off guard. Is the nine colored deer a collab?
Yeah, there’s a film of the same name
Aaaah I didn't know that bit. I thought it was just a new sky creature XD

In my opinion, I don't think it's a whole new kingdom per say, but a land that the Elders don't have any rule over
would be pretty neat if TGC decided to add more places like this in
That makes sense
i forget, can you see eden from there? its an odd place unconnected from the rest of the world, being only through a meditation spot in vault, so if there is no eden visible in it, i could imagine it as maybe memories of a faraway kingdom that were saved inside the vault, like an old tale, or something.
but, if you can see eden, maybe it is a part of the realms, just... unknowingly placed in time or location. i believe the ruler there is called feudal lord ( changed from king i think i heard the animated story used, probably to avoid any confusion with the one in sky )
But lords would be a lower title than king, taking rule over a smaller part of land for a king, so i could only wonder where this one is, if its within the kingdoms we know or farther away, past isle of dawn, or something.
though, even if you can see eden there, it could maybe just be seen in a symbolic way as the ancestors themselves telling the story from their perspective
Yea, you can see it over the hill
And that would make sense of it was lord. I only remembered them referring to one spirit as the princess and forgot who the lord was called XD though with the elders it still confuses me a bit. Are lords under the elders or this is just an isolated incident?
I’ve been playing this game for a while now and I’ve started wondering :
After a Sky kid dies in Eden, when they move to the next stage is that them getting light from another sky kid to be reborn after becoming a statue?
Not sure about that, since you can’t interact with the statues of dead players in Eden like the normal ones, but that might be for gameplay reasons. I’d say probably yes though to some extent, until evidence proves otherwise.
I’ve seen people interpret the red candle as the soul sometimes, since when you pull it out, the light on your chest goes with it. I am curious to what extent if that candle is damaged, does it kill the skykid? Or is it just some random candle we use and it has no real deeper connection to the player.
im pretty convinced that the red candle is in some capacity the soul of the skykid. The flame is our gift afterall and it would make more sense if each skid had their own unique candle. We cant be sure about the damaging thing tho since even after you get krilled, if you still have some wl left you can still pull it out and its all normal but it could just be they didnt wanna make different states for a damaged candle.
A little reminder for everyone that according to an interview the pilot episode of two embers is supposed to come out in March…
What is this?
its most likely a bird statue, but ive also seen some people saying it could be a manta statue considering this is where some manta races took place? Very unlikely, though.
I've heard that its a remnant of a really old quest which would reward you with the bird call, something from sky's beta that was removed, but the statue was left there
someome might have images, but its been a really long time
the bird that it looks like is called a swallow :> they have long tails like that
Ohhh all cool stuff thank you for sharing
@edgy kernel @boreal hare

I'm not new to sky, but I'm certainly not a veteran either, so I'm not really familiar with all the lore bits (I haven't explored that much or researched). I was wondering where can I learn more about the official lore and the fan theories? Maybe somebody has done a good run-down on Youtube? I'm mainly curious about the whole king thing (assuming that it's this being in a crown you see as a constellation at some point) and how it's connected to Eden?
You may want to look up Light Awaits gameplay to see how far the game has grown.
For lore, there are a few good ppaces to look:
- Tom Zhao's website with Sky concept art. Eventhough concept art does not equal to the final result in the game. it does gives a hint to wherethe deves were coming from. Namely how the King is the missing elder of Eden because Eden has no elder (that we recognise) and the King was removed from the game (or more so, did not make it to the live game).
- The seven Days of Sky series posted on Facebook (although there is a wiki that's a bit easier to use). It gives a rundown to the themes of the realms. And a foundation to the theories with these realms and their spirits.
- You are welcome to ask around whenever you see regulars here or specific questions folks can give tidbits of.
The most notable part of Sky lore is this phrase the devs have stated about the lore being open to interpretation.
Meaning, parts of the story may be used as corner stones while the rest of the lore has gaps where you as the player can fill in for yourself.
This can apply to the ancestor spirits for example, as they are presented in the game without pronouns, even though some may appear decidedly feminine or masculine , or even neutral).

Here you go! Let me know if you disagree with anything or notice anything I missed and I’ll try to change it (sorry in advance, it’s sooo messy I’m editing it rn)
https://www.tumblr.com/sky-lore This might help too :D
my tumblr account is somewhere on there….before I accidentally deleted it D:
possibly
is there lore behind "golden" in golden wasteland
the only thing that i can think of is that "golden" could refer to sunsets considering that gw is meant to be dusk
im gonna see if i can find anything bout it on the wiki
there doesnt seem to be anything about the name on seven days of sky except the fact it was meant to be called dusk beforehand, (though it did have another name, shores of manna) but there could be something on tom zhaos concept art page?
I agree with Nine Colored Warrior (Alex)'s explanation as well.
Here's my interpretation: I also think the reason why Golden Wasteland has the word "golden" is because before it became polluted and faced tragedy, I think it was the hub of agriculture and it was full of prosperous greenery, land, waters, and agriculture in general. That could be considered valuable as gold
Golden Wasteland got its name because before it was a wasteland, it was once a place full of "gold."
there are also a lot of gold pots and the buildings have a lot of gold accents
Does anyone have an in-depth video on sky lore that they like and would be willing to share with me?
I don't have any to link, but with how many people are asking for videos or a summary of the lore, that really makes me want to start making some lore videos
im so confused abt the lore
Im actually thinking of doing a sky lore animation musical vid but don't really wanna just do random scenes of the realms, does any1 has any suggestions?
record your skykid with emotes and so on acting out the musical part
Skybot uses ancient technology to conquer sky kingdom and spread the peas-19
Facts
Skybot is a lose canon in the discord channel.
It makes as many enemies as it claims to have made friend.
Mostly becasue of its policy to delete messages without warning or reason when it detect any word it deemed to be offensive. Which may include innocent phrases (ex. the first letter of the Greek alphabet, the one that goes before Beta)
Αα
In fact
Multiple greek letters get banned
I've also seen some names, and words i cannot even see the reason for
Oh please i wanna know too! Or maybe someone write down the story of the lore?
I'm trying to make an oc and i don't think this would be a theory? more like just a hc so I'm not sure where to share it TT so please tell me if it's not allowed in this channel ;
It's like my oc Eshra is a half fae and half sky kid (it's cause his an oc collab of sky cotl and twst) and my other oc Yashen is a full sky kid. Eshra had quite troubles having friends due to him being half fae and he looks abit different. It's not that the other sky kids throw insults at him really, more like small talk then try their best to get away from him. Thats til Eshra met Yashen. Well to make it short, since I haven't finished it yet and only have the main points hsgdhs, the two became good friends and so on. But like they had a big arguement one time that led to things and it escalated to Yashen being corrupted and later on be a krill
I dont know how far fetched this sounds like but it would be appreciated if someone commets on this TT im just not sure if its too wonky that Yashen turned into a krill due to negative emotions or corruption
Why when we burn darkness plants, there’s light (wax) appearing in their place? 🤔
i think since wax makes candles, it's a form of light that you gain from cleansing the darkness, which you can then collect and forge into a candle to offer spirits. its a by-product of cleansing darkness that sky kids are able to repurpose into offerings to the ancestors.
idk what the science of it existing would be though, but i guess cleansing darkness might cause it to melt into a waxy substance
..but the shiny things dont look like wax at all do they, we've just called them that because you can make candles with them
My theory
so is there any discussions about masks and why our eyes are closed without masks
WOAH this is great
I've always wondered why the elders take your light when you relive their memories. Are they trying to show you its power? Or are they simply rekindling their own lost flames?
What do you mean by halls? I'm a bit confused by the second part
They may be talking about the word 'hall' as in the room.
The origin for the word "hall" comes from how houses are built.
Way back in the days where houses were small and simple (which do exist to this day in certain places and living situations), they usually had one room where a person can sleep, cook food, rest and store things.
This room would be called a hall.
As a house becomes more complex and space is made for items and activities to have their own room (ex. bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen etc.), the interior of the house would be divided by walls or borders.
The hall in the mean time still exists in the house and eventually becomes the remaining space where you move from one room to the next.
A la the hallway
The word hall can also be used for these rooms, like the dining hall.
Simply put, a hall refers to a room.
Perhaps these openings could have been used for birds to fly in?
Thinking along the lines of ancestors using light creatures like mantas as mounts. It would be possible for them to have birds trained to deliver messages.
It may also be a way for them to transport scrolls that contain messages.
This also may help explain why there were ancestors who are whisperers of certain light creatures.
Manta whispers could be like horse whisperers.
And bird whisperers could be handlers for birds.
While in real life, a human who is an animal whisperer may not necessarily be someone who can verbally communicate with their animals (even though they may understand their animals' social language, and in some cases also be able to replicate the sounds of their animals).
The ancestors in Sky (lorewise) may be very similar in this regard as experts in handling their light creatures.
While in terms of gameplay, the devs allowed for players to unlock unique calls to diversify/customise their skykid avatars by reliving the memories of these ancestor whisperers.
it's something that looks like pavilion. But pavilion is building in the garden. this structure was reference from small temple in Pashupatinathmandir, Nepal
I called it as open hall because it's not closed. And sometime this structure has many pillar or door. looks somewhat like Mandapa of hindu's large temple. And Mandapa also means hall.
I was estimate it's place for thier pet, but it's nonesense. And later I found this. A wind catcher of iran.
By the way, this structure definitely tell status of inhabitants sure. I hope dev going to show actual benefits soon.
love your theory
So the assembly spirits were around this time?
yeah. it's kind some things like that. Im confused how to call them. If I call it follows reference, sky kid may don't understand it.
I kinda think the kid might’ve become the guide for assembly…
why you thought that?
Very far in the past, bag has the assembly logo on it
can you show me where?
Aurora song in isle
following type of architecture in sky, I believe this scene is eden.
and that large hall is where the red stone located.
can you show me some pic of assembly emblem that the kid have?
I don’t think he wears the backpack
So what made you think this kid is assembly guide?
Very far in the past, why would they put the symbol on the backpack?
I give up, sorry.
the kid is most likely the running wayfarer from season of aurora
since it's their spirit memory, and all the other aurora memories have one of the spirits as the 'main character'
another house form of middle class. This made me curious about prince castle
They were talking about way, way back in the day, for a while after the Season of Assembly happened, all the props showed up as a backpack with the Assembly logo on it when you had the prop on your back (I’m guessing because props that were furniture-esque were introduced in Assembly??). TGC eventually took the Assembly logo off all backpacks when enough props came out after Assembly, and then eventually got rid of the backpack entirely for most props.
the point is he said kid on a boat maybe assembly guide. So I ask him for pic that could make me understand. But none answer of it. he just said bag has assembly logo, and kid does not wear assembly bag. I don't understand what point he wanna say. Sorry that I don't have ability to understand his point.
Possibly they thought that since the assembly bag’s sitting next to the kid that meant the kid was associated with Assembly in some way
how likely do you guys think that the shrines (like, the quest shrine at home, more likely) is meant to be a shrine for AURORA? Theres not a lot going for that theory, sure, but it seems that the only entities that were worshipped was the king and megabird/aurora. It could also just represent an ancestor, but i feel theres more meaning behind it considering how important those statues seem to be.
Is it possible that the location of all the candles is where people died? Like candles grew out of the dead bodies of those who weren't buried.
I don’t think so… considering you kinda relive their memories and put their light back into their statue, I think wherever their statue is, is probably closer to where they died.
ohhhh, I just checked that pic clearly again and saw the assembly logo. da hell of my eyeee😩😩😩😩
finally I understoodddd
It’s a weird detail to just have there
you're having best eyesight
🤣🤣🤣
I think painting of sky realm in the theater also somewhat wired. especially map 5
I'm trying to guess how prince castle could be from these architecture
What's that thing in the upper left of the image
prince's castle and eden
How connected are we to the red candle we hold? Like if I were to drop it somewhere in Isle, how far before something would happen?
I know only it's could be floating platform. there are details of gothic and Hindu architecture. Including hall, flying buttress, pinnacle and etc.
The red candle is most likely the light source of the skykid/the soul (visual clues are what shows it best, those clues being the chest light disappearing once pulling out the candle, etc). Leaving it in isle would either weaken you the farther you get from it, do nothing, or the candle would just teleport back to you.
I mean… the two elders of valley sent that thing into space… so idk…
..good point.
Though, that was more of a light we gave to them, maybe we have spares?...
It actually might be as simple as… you’re a living torch that can light a red candle you hold. I mean we burn out easily and reignite just as easily…
So if the candle burns out, no big deal
Doesn’t it look like the king symbol?
Uhh not too sure about that, I might have something that looks more like his symbol though
Thats the exact same symbol, always the reverse star
I mean it’s an obvious design choice
Hold lemme reupload it…
That star thing doesn’t seem to have the mask he’s believed to wear in it.
It actually weirdly reminds me of how we fell out of the sky at the start of the game though, granted I gotta relive that memory to see for myself again.
Yes kind of ! Although we don’t look like that , more like a ball of light right
This spirit memory is weird cuz it could be a simple meteor but
It’s so similar to the symbols we see everywhere
Maybe, but I doubt it’s the king’s symbol…
Another thing to note though is the direction it seems like it’s coming from. Which is not from Eden
Well since it’s from the beginning of the game , I believe tgc didn’t have in mind all the lore the players created
And this symbol is really simple and easy to think about so
It could be just a coincidence
The first picture is interesting
Cuz it makes us wonder if the candles are a gift from the sky yes
Although we clearly see this spirit making them
Maybe it’s the science behind them that has been gifted
It’s a skykid…
Maybe the prince, idk…
I actually don’t recall any other memories that show a skykid…
Omg yes ! Do we know who raised the prince ?
It also could be just a regular child , and that’s how they are born? Since island is pretty much about learning, experiencing etc
It actually looks identical to WLs. No features… or standout cosmetics…
Actually the only time we see skykids in a memory is elder memories, but we look normal, not pure white like when we ascend to orbit (which is just a very bright yellow white tbh)
What do we know about wl?
I see them as skyds souls we are supposed to gather and they give us energy until we give them back where they belongs in Eden
Here is our star , and the child
The cutscene tell us that our ancestors were impatient about returning to the stars
Is it a metaphor about death?
Actually those are your stars right there… guess they’re just skykids…
Yes I believe so now
Nothing much about it 😭
Maybe the animated pilot will shed more info on this
Omg yes Im waiting !
Also the switch trailer gave us some infos
Idk if its canon tho
any community that making lore art and lore picture? I wanna join them
Where is this from?
eden👁️👄👁️
I mean, is the image specifically from a website or a social media post or something?
when props were first introduced during season of assembly, they all appeared as backpacks with the assembly symbol on them that sky kids would wear on their backs. eventually this was changed to props having unique models since props were no longer associated with just assembly. in this case, it’s likely that the devs just reused the backpack asset they had on hand and didn’t bother to remove the assembly symbol, which means this quest wouldn’t actually have anything to do with assembly
Does someone has informations about dark water ? It looks like oil coming from the pipes to me, and from the gw boat
Also from pollution and poisoning(deer season and geyser)
But the slouching solider is drinking it without dying ?? (I know it’s a metaphor for alcohol but still what do we know about dark water||
😭
Also do people link sky collaboration with the lore ?
Did my message get thrown to Orbit 😭
This message has my interpretations:
- Dark water is probably polluted water and oil. It would make sense why Golden Wasteland has a lot of it because I think that's where dark stone was also made. I think the realm has a major pollution problem as a whole
- I think Slouching Soldier drinking dark water is a reference to the man who drinks in The Little Prince. I don't think the game could mention the consumption of "drinking" and so they used dark water as a substitute
- I also link the collaborations of the game to Sky lore. I'm still thinking about how to link the Nine Colored Deer with Sky lore, but I've already thought of for TLP and AURORA:
The Little Prince may be a story that parents tell their children in Sky and teach them. I think the game very much prioritizes the themes and lessons that The Little Prince talks about
AURORA is the messenger of the Megabird. Like Angel Gabriel in the Bible.
i retouch it from many pictures that I captured from map 4
Does anyone feel like as far as seasons go, the ntd season feels distinctly non canon?
Like that shouldn't be possible, but the entire story of it feels like just that, a story(myth) of events that just didn't happen
Like every other season I feel has a place in the sky lore that it can just slide into, but ncd has kings princesses and entire separate society that doesn't fit with the rest of the lore imo
It might be something with vault being such an expansive place of knowledge, that the difference between a story and reality is far closer than normal.
im pretty sure that while collab seasons are canon, they take place in a seperate area from the sky world entirely, like theres some areas with rifts where other dimensions collide with sky ("where dreamlike worlds collide" <- starlight desert) also considering the fact that the people and creatures from those other dimensions, while looking like theyre from sky clearly arent. The prince and deer arent as much deities in Sky as they are in their own world considering they dont belong here and their powers are meant for something else. AURORAs collab takes place in the main world of sky so we can safely assume that shes fully canon (considering she also shows up in other places than just the coliseum, like the harmony hall mural while theres no other proof of NCD or TLP outside of their respective realms. Sure, TLP leaves starlight desert for the quests but there doesnt seem to be any sign that the ancestors ever knew about him or NCD.) I just think that while those happen in sky, they are moreso just stories unfolding alongside the canon and are more side realms. Its kinda hard to explain
It feels really out of place with the sky lore, but who knows, maybe more stuff will come out in the future that cements it in the lore more
Isnt the two embers coming out soon? Does anyone have any theories about it im curious
I can’t remember if its just another trailer that comes out this month or if its the pilot ep😭 whichever it is i’ll be super excited though
i think its interesting to note that both TLP and NCD's access location are in the vault, both collabs having their own story and universe or world at play.
given that the vault is where dreams and reality both lives and connects, somewhat suggests that vault is also a rift in itself. making it possible for stories and worlds outside of sky to connect, once passage is opened
here's my theory: this is eden🤣
although i am not updated with the new content. aurora being a collab and having it take place outside vault, reliving its spirit throughout every realm. doesnt seem too far fetch from being canon. as far as ive read, which is not alot. it seems like AURORA is a character and the storyteller?
and my theory is: AURORA possibly came from vault, that made their journey through the world of sky
this pic is reason why I believe it's eden. on the upper right side shows the silhouette of prince castle and eden.
the king towers
his statue and the great entrance to vault 🥰
the two ember is story that on going in era before explosion of eden. this pic shows actual form of Eden.
so wasteland was an actual wasteland before the land was wasted
well, it's land of plant. black water ruin this place.
what a waste
I can imagine how other realm in waste land be like, but can't draw it. so sad
though, jokes aside. in this picture, it doesnt seem like the wasteland i wouldve imagined GW would be even before the the angry potato on top of eden, exploded.
the bay wall seems like a shipwreck with capsules and wreckage scattered around. GW being too busy with juicing and creating trebuchets than cleaning mess i suppose.
atleast it wasnt as dirty as to prevent these two from scampering around
agreed, that kid would be passed away immediately if waste water more dirty like currently 🤣 old generation didn't have more than one light.
It is interesting that the shipwreck was there for that long…
looks better than currently too🤣 and none of black shrimp around.
ship registration was not renewed
My lore reason “Yo check this out”
i might add, despite looking better than the current GW. it doesnt exactly look alive either
shown by the walls and pipes having these huge cracks, being unkempt. as if GW was somewhat abandoned long before everything else was nuked
I estimate it's start left by sky people after they start drain energy from large creatures.
So butterfly field in other side of this wall might be looks like situation in the picture of sand
and it's become to boneyard currently
perhaps, golden wasteland- being an extension of golden valley- is where the less fortunate of golden valley's residents, actually resided.
with this societal hiearchy being present and shown between golden valley's peak and the small town below it; residents requiring to be carried by flying bananas towards the coliseum from the town, and such.
and the difference between spirit's clothes and whereabouts
i wonder if the bone in boneyard was already there at the same time as that clear picture though
I am waiting for information about town in waste land before explosion era from dev🤛
I feel like it’ll be so cursed for some spirits when the Eden event happens. Like the hide and seek spirit can’t find anyone or something…
maybe yes. butterfly field only in first era. and next, it's creatures's prison
sky people hunt creatures and prepare for drain energy on there.
you really cant trust skids, with all their juicing and scheming. diabolical creatures, and the audacity to wander around the places theyve destroyed as if its a nice sunny day. deplorable
because they died in worst situation?
sunny day before strom🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have a thought about GW elder because they look more like a guard than an elder to me
What if they used to be a guard for the King?
I think that the King has a higher ranking role than the Elders because I think he was the child that fell from the sky. He was the prince and he became king. I believe that Alef is Resh and he changed his name when he became king.
While I think that GW elder is an elder who has his own realm, the thought that he may be just a guard for the king is also an interesting concept. I believe Resh has a higher social standing because he is literally the king and the Elders were terrified of going against him during the tragedy due to the power he wields. Even though, I think the Elders are way more powerful than Resh since I think they have powers and live quite a long time (immortal) until some have fought back (I think the Valley twins and the Valley went against the King first then Golden Wasteland followed)
Guys what do u think is the biggest secret, for now, in sky?
I think they were more of a guard for the kingdom itself! I see them as a kind of protector, a defender of the ancestors
energy plant i think. there's no appearance of draining light machine yet.
agreed, So there are actual 4 elder?
Well I don’t know a thing about sky lore
there are light draining machines, like in the Forest temple or the broken ones in Wasteland. Also, Abyss murals show machines being used to drain the light from mantas
I need to find some crazy person that will sit down with me and explain me everything ahaha lol
it’s also worth mentioning that the skykids didn’t do all that, the ancestors did and we were sent from the stars to correct the wrongs of the past
which painting it is? can you tell me?
Not sure but this one I think
i think it was this one which most implied it, since its mirrored with light creatures to crystals
something i didn't pick up before was that the light creatures seem to be on like a cart of some kind, maybe implying they're unable to move in some way and need to be moved
The ancestors might have used the mantas to charge up the power diamonds (darkstone crystals). At least in theory.
We do find mantas trapped in the underwater ruins similar to the knes found in the hidden forest temple. Both of which seem to involve light being refined or used to charge dark stone diamonds.
Heya chat. A convo in cozy made me wonder, whats yalls theories for the most devious, evil, vile ancestor (excluding collabs and elders)?
King
well, the king is technically a elder, so
because there's more creatures and crystals being produced as we go down, it implies that production started small and harmless but as demand increased more and bigger creatures became victims, and eventually they tried to go after the king krill for maximum pöwer
hopeful steward. literally told us to die
..
looking at it, there is one crystal at the bottom of the elevator all those ancestors seem to be grouped around. I actually might imagine that they were actively pulling light out of it too in this image, moving crystals down the elevator, filling them up with light, and then going back out the top.
quite possible the big guy turned into king krill slowly as they took more and more light out of it
I saw the temple and it have the King symbol(?) on it and there is a space behind the Elder shrine which look like it used to have another shrine on it lol
The only question i had for this theory is that why don't rebuild the temple after they become the new Elder?
Which Elder are we talking about right now ^^; are we talking about GW Elder?
Yeah:>
Well, if we're going with the idea that GW Elder is just a guard of the King, I think the reason why he doesn't rebuild the temple is because:
- The King got corrupted and is gone, the world is gone, darkness continues to stay in Golden Wasteland and it's going to take a long, long time to eliminate the pollution in the realm. Most of Golden Wasteland is polluted and the realm is huge so it's going to take time to eliminate pollution there
- Fear. I think the King was a very corrupt ruler and instilled fear in many. While GW Elder wanted to end the tragedy, he was terrified on what the consequences will be like if he does so. He followed suit when the Valley twins and the Valley fought back
- The Elders are somewhere. Not in their realms, but somewhere in time and space. I've heard about this and I don't know where I heard about it so apologies, but I think when the tragedy and the end fo the civilization was concluded, the Elders are somewhere. Perhaps the cutscenes they are present in are the places where they currently are right now. This just made me miss the Elders and I think I want to pay a visit to their cutscenes

Ofc this is what I just think regarding the idea if GW Elder is a guard of the King and not an Elder
Still, I think that the Wasteland Elder is an Elder, but I think the concept of him being a guard of the king is interesting. GW Elder is an Elder and stuff
But feel free to expand the idea that GW Elder is a guard of the king ✨ and what the hell is canon LOL
Happy lore interpreting ✨
I thought it's experiment for making something until make mistake 🤔
ohhhh, this one. but I don't understand benefits of the tower and dark creatures below there 🤔
Hopefully once Art of Sky comes out we get more lore drops by people that had preordered it and then got it in-game via its STAR features.
Hidden, of course, aside what else we'll get when viewing the book in-game.
If you ask me, the King is not around to be saved anymore because now, he is literally a part of us Skykids, which would answer why would he be gone.
OKAY GUYS IM SORRY TO INTERRUPT but i just finished making a rather long lore document, can i send it
Yeah:3
Omg I'd love to take a peek

Yess!

LORE TELLERS I NEED YOU TO CHECK MY VID ON THE PICS AND VIDS CHANNEL AND TELL ME WHAT DOES IT MEAN
anybody know what this thing is and how it died?
Woah never realized it was a skeleton:0
there's a couple of skeletons around that area
it's called the Graveyard for a reason
what’s your guys’ takes on the mystery eggs in hidden forest?
Personally I like to think it’s the eggs of the elder bird
i’m still a bit new to everything but do u mind explaining what the elder bird is?
In the last cutscene of the Season of Rhythm
the spirits can be seen riding a boat on top of a large white and gold bird. This bird has been called the Elder Bird by fans. You can find videos of this cutscene on YouTube. The elder bird hasn’t shown up in-game since, but it has been shown in the official art promo for the Light Whisperer
spirit. Since it’s a very large bird, larger than any other bird seen in-game, it would make sense that it would lay very large eggs, too.
One thing to note is that the elder bird is NOT the MegaBird. The MegaBird is basically the constellation we see at the end of the game in the credits. That thing is sort of like a god-like creature. The elder bird, on the other hand, is just a very large bird (as far as I know). I’m just mentioning this because they have similar names so sometimes you can get them confused.
THOUGHTS ON THE FINAL MEMORY FROM SEASON OF SHATTERING??? Because I’m genuinely confused as to what happened
My guess is the elders overcharged that big shard and it reacted like a lithium battery does when it’s overcharged 😔
Damn ig the elders did not see the news about the lithium ion battery phones blowing up 😔
For realzies 😔 Also my guess for the giant star and the wl sitting on top: the shard was connected to a sky kid (ze prince probably) and by overcharging the shard they also basically broke the kid and turned them into Something Bad (hence the looming Bad Black Star of Ominousness)
The prince?
Oh, yes!! In the lore there’s a sky kid called “the prince” (idk who named them) that had significant importance to the history of Sky; the prince is the one that the Prophets… prophesied lmao. The one in the murals that actually beats all the trials vs dying horribly
Oooooh!!! Man I feel like I have so much lore to catch up on. Old vet moment I joined towards the end ish of rhythm and stayed until finishing the little prince then left until now
It kind of looks like a turtle skull.
And since we do have floating jellyfish, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same thing that turned GW into well ... GW.
Which is pretty much war of what looks like man VS nature (and their affiliates).
As for the Prince, I honest to Eden think that is us before events of the game when the Prince/the King was still whole like the rest of Elders.
With him being "unable to be saved anymore" and what Shard Memories imply as well as what happens after dying in Eden, I am on board with a bonkers theory that when the Diamond got overcharged with Heavenly Light Energy (or what the beam of light above it is supposed to be), it pretty much eradicated the Prince/the King (thus the shattered Eden symbol above the Diamond) and his energy was absorbed by it, thus it being able to give us these Shard Memories in the first place, which, imho, show different things that happened at the same time/last thoughts of the Prince/the King before his eradication and assimilation.
r elders..robot????
What was left of the Prince/the King after that )the remains that were able to persevered and sort-of ascend) was/is essentially a bare Child of Light that can be seen both after dying in Eden and when visiting the Elder's Shard Memory (as you can see 2 Children of Light hugging each other, one of which is a WL and other most likely being the Child of Light that was left after the Prince/the King got eradicated) ... which is the starlight that is inside us Skykids. 😏
Honestly, I think that the Elders are people of the old (as spirits) while Skykids are literally golems with the King's starlight inside them. 🤭
kay but i rlly rhought elders r robots becuz of their body
I totally bet Elders behave like this due to their involvement in overcharging the Diamond of Eden; once it went into its permanent Shattering phase, it disfigured them like that, especially the Isle Elder.
I am new to the discord and really love lore of games.
Is there any part that you guys suggest I read from?
Hey I have a question, to do with the valley elders. So there’s the two races right? The sliding one and the flying one. And two valley elders who- in my opinion, are a bit competitive with each other at the very least. So which elder prefers which race? Do both the valley elders like both races equally? Or no? ||if this question makes no sense just let me know and I’ll try to rephrase it||
It makes perfect sense man
There are two ways to think of this based on action in the cutscene:
The spiky haired elder jumps a lot in the cutscene while the bobcut elder doesn't.
- This could mean the spiky haired elder likes the feeling of being in the sky so he likes the 1st race.
- Since the spiky haired elder likes jumping he likes the sensation of jumping this the 2nd race.
Not sure which one is correct tho
I personally feel that they (I swear they have a name I just forget it constantly) but spikey hair would like the flying race? Idk I just feel like they would
You mentioned the spiky-haired one twice, @ocean remnant I reckon the bobcut-haired one would like the Sliding Race more? 🤭
I suppose so my friend
As I said I don't know exactly
Just a hypothesis
there's also the theory of each of the elders' designs being based on creatures, and one of the twins' hairstyles resembles a manta, so interpret that how you will
I personally think there are two races because of the general theme of duality in Valley - sliding vs flying, red vs blue, wealthy and working class areas, man vs nature, etc. but I'm honestly not sure which one would prefer which race. Could go either way
also both are depicted on the gates at the start of each race which i think is cute
I am honestly much more curious on why 2 Elders of Valley.
Because there's two areas of the lights hunt tournament I think, one for fly other for ''run''
2 elders to represent a duality (twin energy so to speak).
2 elders also to represent the realm's competitive nature.
Mr.Jod_Joe is right to refer the races.
One takes place in the upper destruct where they ride mantas through the city.
The other is less extravagent with sliding down the slopes. Even though our skykids slide down with their own feet. It may be more realistic to assume ancestors used boards, skis or sleds as seen from peaking postman's memory of their speedy sledding.
There are other dualities (twin elements).
Namely season of Rhythm and Performance.
I was honestly thinking of what the ceremonial process must've looked like for these 2, given how in other realms we only have 1 ... 🤭🤭But else, thanks for all the info there!
There seems to be a massive factory on the left side of the wasteland entrance. Maybe its a darkstone factory that contributed to the wastelands pollution. Hopefully we'll have a season in the future to confirm what that structure actually is.
I have seen there is mentioned how when the elders where born they were similar to the sky children so they came to earth as falling stars. Apparently when the valleys star fell it broke into 2 pieces leading to there being 2 elders. It also says that they apparently have artificial arms and legs to represent how they were broken, but i just think those are clothes.
There is so much lore in this game but I am kinda new(very new) ,can someone explain the main story of sky? Like what happened why do I light candles and save spirits what darkness did this and why 😭😭
The darkstone in eden trapped the spirits in the realms after it shattered. The candles seem to have been like part of their culture. The reason why the sky collects them is because light was a resource that could have been used for stuff like spells and a energy source. Thats why most doors work when light is applied to them.
Oh and is that when sky children apeared to help the spirits?
We just fell from the sky right
Yeah but it seems there is a higher force greater than the skykids who is responsible for their creation. She is called in concept art as the Megabird and she sent the skykids to save the trapped spirits and return them to the stars with her.
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain!!!
Hi everyone ^^ i have a question: did someone ever made a timeline of the life or all of the spirits? (Like wich one died earlier and their relationship)
For exemple i noticed that pointing candle maker would be the dad of of ushering stargazer and they would have lived in the prime age of the civilisation
Later on ushering stargazer would be a couple with rejecting voyager and found a sky child
Later on when light was needed rejecting voyager would maybe be « employed » by the elder to get light to the temple (that’s why he got a jar and the elder mask)
Maybe it would be the job of the rythm spirit (the one with a jar) too?
Idk maybe I’m making stuff up but I was wondering if you guys looked into that
I think they all died around the time that the shard got corrupted and the kingdom fell. The memories i think shows a very important time in their lives, but not how they died. The only memory off the top of my head that i think is about a spirit dying is the praying spirit in the vault. So we dont know for sure who is older than who.
I was actually thinking Fainting Warrior there.
True thanks
I see 🤔 do you think it would be possible for the memories to represent different time periods? Periods of before the shard got corrupted? Maybe even after?
Yeah i believe so cause it seems most of the spirits memories are before the shattering but spirits like in the wasteland seem to happen after the shattering.
Interesting and well, I defo think those are clothes too, as except for Isle Elder, they're all very much lifelike if you ask me ... and even then, the seemingly-robotic movement as well as Isle Elder's nasty injury to the head might also be the thing from when the Diamond got overcharged as well.
Yeah i think it might be cause the isle elder is the eldest. Though im not sure cause my personal interpretation is that the vault elder is the eldest but im not sure. It probably says somewhere in what order they were born.
I saw a couple of pics of when isle was green, did the shatering make it into a desert? Or did it happen before while everyone was farming light
Im actually not sure. Maybe the place was just abandoned as everyone died off and it turnee into a dessert. Though i would adsume the same would apply to the praire but it seems perfectly fine so im not sure 🤔
random little lore thing (that i'm sure someone has mentioned before), but i think dark pants form where there's negative energy etc. there's a bunch in wasteland, war-torn and full of krill and deadly stuff. forest could also work ig cuz the rain hurts sky kids
Rain just hurts the skykids because the skykids lifeforce relys on light and fire.
For the dark plants i think the dark plants are a sign of pollution like the dark water.
The only think against this is that we see dark plants everywhere, not just in wasteland. I have a personal theory that dark plants are the results of butterflies turning dark cause every time we burn darkness plants it releases a swarm of butterflies. The plants do sort of look like butterflies too.
ooh yeah, good point :P
i didn't completely agree with my theory, just somethin i noticed 😅
For that rain point the problem is that litterally diving in water doesn't hurt the
So sky kids aren't inherently threatened by water due to needing their fire
Why rain hurts sky kids still confuses me
Water inherently isn't harmful to sky kids since we can straight up dive
The rain doesn't seem polluted, because the forest water ponds are clean and deadly rain also shows up in the really clean prairie peaks
The rain is cold, but that'd be a shaky explanation because sky kids are just fine in the frozen valley of triumph
Good point i don't know a counter argument to that.
I think the rain might still be seen as polluted in forest - there are a few other sources of "water" that do have different effects on us, like the sludge in wasteland or the thin water in the eye of eden which both drain our light slowly. however theres also a directly named thing, the polluted geyser which will actually VERY quickly drain your light
the only time water seems to hurt us is when its polluted, and there is some kind of connection there between it being water that does hurt us.
I actually have a sorta related theory that the rain in forest is actually a sort of early stage sign of darkness corrupting the area, just based off a few observations. I'll list off a few things i can think of -
Darkstone production seems to have taken place in wasteland and forest, the former certainly being FAR more.
That process seems to take a lot of water, you can see a lowered water level in wasteland and forest - the former once again being quite a lot more significant
I personally think that the process might have polluted water vapor fly into the sky, which first forms as clouds that pour down polluted rain, but in strong enough concentrations the rain completely is stopped and it holds permanently, like how i'd see wasteland and eden being permanently held by the storm clouds.
And the reason i think rain comes first, is because in two embers we see the storm forming, and you get a view of some soldiers looking upwards at a krill flying by while its raining. that would be before the storm state we have now, where the only rain left is rocks and debris picked up by the wind, heh.
i interpret dark plants as forming when dark water interacts with plant life, and that it needs to capture and leech the power of light creatures, hence why mantas get trapped in it in forest and why butterfly swarms release
honestly, im not sure why rain in unpolluted areas like prairie peaks hurts us (the bloom event also caused rain in forgotten ark, which you could argue is polluted since it’s in wasteland, but since it also caused the growth of healthy plant life im not sure that’s true.) either rain just has special properties that hurt skykids, all of it is polluted, or the devs just wanted to keep rain consistent across all realms so they wouldn’t need to code a new rain?
My personal opinion is to just not think about it too hard. I usually find it cool if everything fits and has a reason to why it is the way it is but in terms of the rain i just say dont thino about it too much 🤣
do you think sky kids remember their past lives like after they are reborn after eden the first time, second or third time etc?
The realms are connected so any rain is evaporation of dark water moving via clouds being absorbed by plants forming dark plants.
Why would else would they have stuff form the earlier life such as emotes, candles and cosmetics and props
I wonder if Skykids can keep that kind of power
Am I the only one who believes the sky kid is eden elder but, just reborn and came back to the sky and doesn’t remember who they are?
Problem in that theory is that then you're working with the idea of the king being split across dozens upon dozens of different honky beans
You can probably make it work but it's tough to make it fit
I know i've seen that theory float around before so maybe someone came up with a detailed idea of how such a split would work
i think the king is the kid at the end of eden and he's just trapped there, and he asked us to come and save him, except we're just stuck in a cycle of dying unable to help him out because the darkness is too strong
so all we can do is give him a hug, move on, and try again another time, over and over
I would say the same reason why chill water is deadly to us Skykids in Trial of Water.
Well, the TGC comments about Shard Memories do mention a spirit being sundered in the break, which might be the King literally experiencing W.D. Gaster-like horrific fate as the Diamond overcharged and pretty much eradicated him.
Honestly i always saw the trials as being inherently magical to some extent, thus having different rules than the outside world
I like to imagine they take place in your own mind
i like that interpretation! kind of like how the upper levels of vault occupy a dream space that may not actually reflect reality
Yeah its like a separate dream realm.
What I think happened, personally, is that prior to the shattering, the elder's were probably attempting to stop something from happening- and by this attempt also ended up causing the inevitable. the way I see it is that the diamond was perhaps a massive darkstone which was pointed towards the heavens- maybe the King's attempt at setting himself above all creatures, defying the heavenly light and control it? since those darkstones can be considered "artificial stars", and need to be powered by light, then such a massive darkstone (whatever its purpose couldve been) would need a tremendous amount of light (the lightbeam which connectsthe world to orbit)
so, the way I see it is as such: when a star becomes too dense, it collapses onto itself due to the tremendous gravity, and starts doing the opposite of what it supposedly does: instead of emitting light, it absorbs it (blackhole)
i believe that the elders were probably trying stop the king, who by that time must have become fully corrupted by darkness, and by doing so caused the diamond to shatter
which leads me to another theory:
the star shape above the diamond? which seems to have a crown? well it looks an awful lot like the king's head
and this here is my crazy theory . . . the rest of Eden is the corrupted king's body, as in, he became one with the darkness and the mountain is alive, actively trying to destroy and kill us as we go through Eden
so in the memory . . . it is the moment when the King is sealed (into the void i assume?) stuck in child form (alef, the prince), and the moment when the elder's lose their light, the moment before the darkness spreads to the kingdom. I think that there mustve been an "initial" explosion which was massive and destroyed the majority of the kingdom, eradicating most population, and later there would be frequent shard eruptions 🤔
Ooooooh that’s really good. Does the paper kingdom (OOB) play into the king theory?
Also, who’s the king? Where does his story come from in sky?
hmmm do you have pictures of said OOB? I have visited and found several oobs but i dont know their names
I believe it’s this one https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9KvhcAkt88s
and, about the King, its mostly theory over theory-- but when you first arrive in isle of dawn, and you relive a certain spirits memory ( i cannot remember their name ) , you can see a child falling from the sky, and it is a child who seems to be glowing (the first skykid)
the prophecies from murals in the cave of prophecy represent a glowing child who seems to have been able to complete the trials without meeting a tragic end, unlike others who tried
and this golden child was likely to be crowned king if he succeeded, and when he succeeded
so he is likely taken to mount eden to be crowned king, and according to the murals he seems to distribute elements to certain elders (fire air water and wind)
if we also look at one of the songs in aurora concert (the very first one) you can see a golden child pointing towards the light and people are basically bowing to him as he makes his way towards the isle elder ( who is said to have raised him )
then connect this to the mural that you see in the second part of eden, where is a dude standing there (with light emanating from him) and a huge amount of people bowing to him , which i assume is the king being praised for his immense power and whatnot, as he holds a diamond above his head (which is the diamond that later becomes the eye of eden )
it started off as a child who was prophecised to become king, and undoubtedly had a tremendous load to carry, and then it grew into greed and it got worse and worse until darkness corrupted him
until he had to be stopped and well...we know what happens after
Ohhhhhhhhh wow
Is there the document floating around with the general sky lore theories?
not one specific document but definitely lots of sources around that can be found while doing some digging ! theres a lot of stuff that can be found on tumblr or just looking in the right places on the net!! ( some people are nice enough to regroup several sources onto one place!)
ohhh ive never been there, it is gorgeous!!
LETS GOOOOOOO

It’s really cool! I haven’t gone to OOBs in years so it may be un reachable now
OK so the final quest of the season is out, I've been writing this up over a few weeks now waiting for today...
My personal take on the story, from the extremely limited view I have on it, both culturally and in actually knowing the source material, the animation style was based on a cave art mural, which does visually to me at least appear similar to that in the animation.
The Deer gave the man a boundary, much like in classical western fairy stories, such as in Launfal, Sleeping Beauty, Orpheus, and that oath was broken, so the "fairy" also broke bonds with them.
From the deers perspective, the story is about having a generous spirit, but not giving too much of yourself to keeping yourself from harm, fortunately for the deer those who the deer gave power to were generous to give it back.
As far as betrayal, ultimately it is the princess who has the greatest agency of wrong in selfish desire, this is unchecked by both the lord, guards, and hunters as her council, so allowing the misadventure to fall upon someone who has sworn an oath of secrecy.
In my view this does fit with the spirits of Sky more than the children, as it is a story of greed, taking resources to create power diamonds, hunting light creatures as we saw during the Aurora concert, fighting wars, as we see in Wasteland, and ultimately destroying nature for greed.
What it's missing is the compassion of the children, which I hope the adaptation in Sky will bring, I don't know how currently, but will hopefully be played out as the quests progress.
Again I have no concrete arguments one way or other, and on first watching the animation, also felt it as an odd choice, but in another way it doesn't entirely "not fit" to the darker lore of Sky's spirits, of greed and want of dominion over nature.
I would love to know what you think of the story both in the animation, mural, and Sky's interpretation.
Over time and replays I'm sure I'll come up with more integrated readings in Sky's world
This is far from the darkest story we've seen in Sky, but it felt so intimate, getting to know the deer, only to have external forces destroy them directly infront of us.
The spirits actually attempted to claim nature, and effectively overthrow a god, for the sake of greed, and that really resonates to me with the Eden storm story we are uncovering.
lore-wise, i dont actually think that the events as portrayed actually happened, personally. i think it represents more of a fable the ancestors would have had, but isn’t necessarily based in truth, i think it more offers insight to how the ancestors might have seen the world.
the exploitation of magic and nature by capturing the deer and the creatures reflects the exploitation by the ancestors of light creatures in order to power darkstone machinery, and might mean that despite this, there were still ancestors that fought back against this like how the herb gatherer did in the story, and also might mean the people still had hope even in the darkest times that the war could be resolved. of course the ancestors’ civilization was wiped out with the eden diamond rather than saved like in the story, but the skykids’ presence now means that the land may yet be restored and the dark creatures may eventually be banished.
Who on earth is this!?
This appeared in Orbit while I was summoning elders for pictures.
It must have appeared at some point after I summined forest elder and me looking up at the stars.
I dont know what may have caused them to appear.
If it is because of the elder(s), kr me looking up at the megabird constellation or even if it was because I managed to do all the statues in the Eden run.
It is not a stranger skykid because one did appaear later on.
This is clearly a character the game decided to load in for some bizarre reason.
I heard someone once got one of those with a nametag, and it was called "The Perfect Child"
I beg your pardon?
I sadly could not get their name to show up or interact with them.
I'll definitely look that up.
4 years of playing this game and this never showed up before, lol.
you can find the messages pretty quick in here, heh. otherwise i think its a bug that popped up recently and they ( or other spirits ) can show up when you talk to an elder after going through eden
That is spooky but also incredibly interesting.
To be honest, seeing this had the Sky Prince or some other child of light lore cross my mind.
oh thats interesting. i havent seen that bug myself - tho last time when i was in orbit there was an invisible something doing random emotes?
Dark lore uncovering alright.
I do wonder if there will be more ways to see into the past of Sky, similar to Aurora or the shard memories.
this is very interesting to read

Well, I don’t consider ALL of the sky kids we see (cuz its an online game yk, Im taking the theory with only 1 single moth/kid wandering around the realms)
It kind of made sense to me that the kid who borns is actually the eden elder for several reasons
-
The elder symbol on the outfit, if you zoom in the moth outfit, you can see a symbol which all elders had on their chest.
-
Every time the kid reaches the temple and meets the elder, they (elders) take the light source from the kid to get their own light and powers back. There are a lot of sky creatures that can make and give light, then why the light has to be took from the kid?
-
When the kid is born, the first thing they see is the eden mountain. In my theory, the reason is that the kid feels like that place is familiar. Which can make sense that they have been or seen there before they’re born for ‘the first time’
If you make that assumption it works but to me that assumption is weird in the first place because of the fact that we actively help other non player sky children in eden, who then give us the AC and stuff
So to me i can't see how there would be only a single sky kid
We're getting Two Embers soon hopefully which will expand on the story of the Ancestors but we still know so little about actual Sky kids
speculating is fun!
Yeah it is
Maybe its the same kid that borns and keeps dying
In my opinion, the elders dont want the king to be back, so they send them to Eden, which causes them to die. I believe they’re all one actually
It might sound weird though, I don’t know if it was understandable
But like
We see multiple sky kids
Not just their bodies
We see multiple different children breaking out of the bodies, and multiple of them in front of us in orbit
So with this we're working with multiple instances of one person, interacting with each other
Also from the beginning of the game, before even meeting any elders, you're already on your way to helping the world as best as you can
So i think this puts a dent in the child murderer elder theory
Along with how they don't really guide you anywhere
You're the one helping them if anything
Can you imagine though, they're all like:
the last sky kid who came here kinda ruined things, off to the mountain with you
🌋
not that eden elder was only cause for the way things are, i'm sure there are lots of factors at play as to why eden went kaboomy
Well, that makes sense. Though, it would be fun to think that well, maybe there is a reason that we have to end up in Eden and die there.
I believe that the Eden elder got corrupted by darkness somehow (which I think because his mask was made out of dark stone in the concept arts), which caused him to go evil and destroy the eden crystal
👁️ Daxo spotted
I think the reason would be that big light pillar in the center
It seems pretty important
Concept art uses it as being a core part of the rebirth of light creatures
In game we also see ourselves and the mantas travelling along it to reach orbit
Okay but lemme throw this thought out here
What if
Some of the guides/spirits
Have the ability to control the elements?
We've seen on the murals in the cave of prophecies that the people of sky were given the power over the four elements (as shown by four of the elders)
So it's more than likely the people of sky at the time were able to use that to their advantage and bend the elements, only a select few though ofc.
we have to go there and die because the story of all sky kids is to sacrifice themselves to give light back to others
Oh no! A KRILL!!!
Which would, imho, kind of fit into "The King is Sky Kids" theory, especially if the King is suspected to have been corrupted by darkness later down the line of his rule; would sort of be both his karmic punishment and a way of repentance to do something like this, especially if he, once the Diamond overcharged and became the shattering Eye of Eden as we know of, is the one being responsible for the very first bunch of statues of Lost Ones.
🤔🤔🤔🤔
Considering it’s in orbit, where probably it can’t go back down anymore. My guess is it literally exploded it into space.
I thing orbit is in Megabird's body🤣
Boy, I wish, since no joke, Orbit has a hidden map shrine. :,D
I also think eden is a pot on the stove and prince's castle is pot lid🤣
where is a hidden map shrine in orbit?
its off to the right i think, opposite the spiral up to the bench
you know, i personally think that the castle is right BEFORE orbit. I think that orbit itself is the place with the light creatures and spirits where you actually ascend AFTER flying out of Eden and past the castle.
I also think the King's castle is before Orbit and it may be a part of Eden before everything went south. Perhaps the placement of the King's castle is some kind of symbolism. Cause I've read somewhere that the King tried to reach new heights and it looked like it failed or the placement symbolizes the status the King has cause I believe he is more powerful than the Elders, but the Megabird is the most powerful of all cause I think she's a creator deity/goddess
I also think Orbit is like a resting place for the people and creatures who have passed away. Orbit literally reminds me of heaven and it's so calming that it can be a nice resting place for the deceased.
What’s the megabird?
she's the light, mommy of all sky kids🤣🤣🤣 following game's name "children of the light"
she gave birth sky kids and she has kicked sky kids to sky kingdom for bring her light back
you are going to found her every time after eden🤣
Well, megabird is also the creator of all light creatures, not just the skykids
yup, she's mommy of all sky being.
indeed, though, i dont know how likely it is that megabird created the ancestors, considering they came from somewhere else before arriving to the sky kingdom
I always greetings her when flying to her🤣
elder and other sky people are not birth from sky mommy directly. but maybe their souls are part of her I think
except sky prince and current sky kids, we were
born from her
yep, i personally think the ancestors arrived to the sky kingdom because they knew about eden and wanted to ascend (which they did sucessfully, likely meaning they became part of megabird and is also the reason they can ascend after being given light)
could also just be they were looking for resources
they just runaway from pandemic, from thirsty and looks for new home. 🤔
someone also thought that those dark stone are from previous sky people who have been passed away
Okay so
The megabird, also known as the Light, is overall a pretty unknown being
In-game, the megabird is only depicted explicitly in the water around the office portal in vault
It shows up more often in concept art, but concept art is to be taken with a grain of salt
You can also see the Light at the end of the credits after going to Orbit
Since not a lot is known about megabird, it's basically just speculation land ragarding most details
she's also appear in sky time line as god that sky people was believe before prince came to sky
she's looks similar to galaxy or nebula. because when sky kids reach to her, sky kids going to saw a big group of light particles only
So is everyone in the Sky world dead other than the Children of Light? Is there no hope left for civilisation to continue? Is the world forever ruined?
If someone could stop Strom on the mountain, maybe hope to fix civilization going to appeared.
Cause of megabird have to keep cycle of light for keeping her appearance, so she's too busy to produce new generation of sky people.🤔
Looks like jade chamber from genshin maybe
Maybe skykid will continue it..?
well, it's platform both🤣 but prince castle was build by using Gothic architecture and Malla architecture.
possible, but after stop Storm more possible
By current look, all humanoids are; fauna like Butterflies, Mantas, fish and even at least one Whale still remain.
Except Skykids, of course, even though they aren't typical humanoids in my book unlike Ancestral Spirits and Elders, but rather golems with starlight-like souls inside them.
Pretty sure that part is just theory
I don't think it's ever mentioned in-game how things were before the elders came around
The ancestors civilization is gone yeah
Maybe sky children could build a new one, as some areas like prarie are still doing good
But the world is still very hurt by the shattering and the pollution leaving darkness everywhere
Everything is Theory, Man.🤣 like story of eden king and ETC.
Most of it is yes
I just point it out because you state it as fact, like the game explicitly stated it
Hello, everyone.I wonder if there are any words that belong to the sky, such as English letters, which express the civilization of the sky.
(I hope my statement is clear enough)
Thank you in advance for your answers.
Dev trying to avoid or not release back story of sky because they thought it could made their game so serious.
I mean
The game's backstory explicitly has war
You can see it in aurora and season of rememberance, you can see people getting killed in it too
So they're not scared of lore getting serious
So you're asking for symbols or words that represent the civilization of Sky?
Yes, is there any way to find these words, or is there anyone studying them?
So why they didn't release more story already?
There's an animated show coming out soon
Called Two Embers
I want to know about sky culture, sky language, sky politics, sky industry
There's no hint that they going to release story of sky king in 2 embers
I search time and time again and wish for found more story from each of scene in sky game, But I found only referent of sky civilization🙄
I made collage for find someone who could talk to me with this topic. But no one interested on them.
Back story is reason why I still playing sky. especially sky king. BUT There is no story of him was released at ALL.
I can only estimate about him like mad person🙄
Yeah
We barely know anything
There's hints that can be taken from concept art, but only hints
Hints and stuff he sorta left behind in the game
Why do you think there’s water in the purple light area of the Vault? It’s obviously because of a leak somewhere, but I wonder where the water itself is from. Pipes within the Vault? Maybe rain from Eden? Though the water is clean, unlike the dark water or forest rain.
i imagine the vault likely needed water to at least sustain the people in it
Who is the sky king and where can you find him referenced?
you can found him in Vault Elder cutscene, the last one before showing all elder and in one mural in first building (where you spawn after first wl building) in second area in eden (it's just mural not his real appearance)
Genuine question, why do we protrude blue crystals when dying?
To me, it resembles the raw form of dsrkstone we find in the season of moments area (Thats just imo though)
Yea but it also disappears once you recover back… which is odd
no one know that
My guess is it could be some form of bleeding or something
He is a man who wearing 3- 4 point star mask. he rules all over sky. He is a man who discovered darkstone and create red stone that spinning forever. You can found him every where especially map 5. check out his statue in the picture and think which place that this statue was placed.
In map 2, there's golden miniatures of him was place at between way to the cave. map 3, There's pattern that including his mask on the metal door. And well, you can found him in cutscenes of map 6 and also Eden.
Where is the sky king personally and not his statues
In game? Nowhere to be seen
There's theories he is the light child you meet at the end of eden, or that he reincarnated into sky kids, got split in multiple parts, ect...
But nothing confirmed
I don't know. dev release moment that red darkstone explode. Elder was thrown away and maybe die. King isn't there except his crown that floating above red darkstone.
Nothing clear. that's why I'm nervous to dev.🙄
If you have a theory you can always share
I'm bored to guess anything. It's all imagine thing finally.
I love to explain and summarize. Enough for imagine thing with something not clear. that's made me like a mad guys.
Honestly, I'm all for the theory that once the Diamond of Eden overcharged and shattered (became like how we see today), the King literally got eradicated and his spiritual essence split into multiple parts, which all manifest as Children of Light + the Child of Light we Skykids hug + merge with after our own sacrifice.
Aka "a spirit sundered in ther break" "of the final moment of shattering".
What really are the skykids? are they human or Cosmic entities? Just started around late feb
Honestly,
. I think they're golems with starlight-like soul (the first Child of Light) inside them.
I thought once crossed my mind, I could calculate how strong the skykids are based on the damage they took on eden rocks and based on that calculate how much force the krills do when they charge
Simple awnser is their stars that can walk and talk.
is the eden elder evil? why did the other elders except for the isle elder have to seal him? and why everyone except for the isle elder??? does anybody know?
I need an update of what we have canon rn
The devs’ intent was that none of the elders were evil, they were morally grey who did both helpful and harmful things. The Eden elder is the same, but he ended up causing so much harm that the other elders tried to stop him/seal him away. So, he wasn’t evil, but he did a lot of harm.
Idk what’s going on with the Isle elder, but my theory is that they isolated themself after a while, or they retired. They are present in the elder shattering memory, so if they didn’t seal eden they at least were present for the eye of eden’s corruption.
but wouldnt the fact that other elders sealed him for the sake and goodness of others make them actually good? that means they are not morally grey
They also did their fair share of help and harm. One could argue that the Forest Elder was ultimately evil because they invented darkstone the production of which ruined the environment and led to the apocalypse, but they also helped sealed the king.
do you know a lot about sky lore?
Sure. I’ve read a lot of behind the scenes stuff and I like analyzing the game in my spare time. If you have a question I’ll try to help answer it.
can I DM you rn?
I’m going to sleep tbh lol
gn then
Hey lore obsessed people (I mean this affectionately) this is a question I know has been asked before but it’s always fun to ask again, what do we think krills are? Are they corrupted light creatures? Were they made? If so how?
Hey Lorechat, random question: those ‘shooting stars’ we see in homespace sometimes, are those players who returned from Eden? What are those?
I was always under the impression that they were a journey reference, and are players who returned from Eden but my friend says no
Considering that skykids only fall to one location in the game, I can see why. But lore wise, idk maybe Skykids just sorta land wherever.
Especially when you take into consideration a skykid did end up landing in isle in one of the spirit’s memories there…
Interesting, I always thought it was a confirmed thing
- that we can see the ‘star children’ falling in homespace when they are returning from Eden.
I mean if you literally want to see one….
Yeaaaaaah ushering stargazer had that! True!! I always believed it was the first Child of Light maybe, because they’re IN a spirits memory
Granted though, it’s never shown how long it actually does take us to fall from orbit back… so could be just ones that are taking a while to fall…
is the king and the eden elder the same person?
"Others elders sealing him" is one of many possible theories
Nothing is really confirmed about his history, and what exactly he did
Concept art features the idea of him being corrupted into a darkness monster, but that's just concept art so no way to be certain it's still how the game lore goes
All we know is somehow it ended up with the giant eden crystal shattering, and causing the darkness to destroy their civilisation
Yes
You'll also see more rarely him being reffered to as the prince iirc
Prince also has the name alef iirc, and king the name resh
Both of these names are concept art names, but they come up in convos sometimes
All elders have such names too from concept art
We need a feature where a moff just lands on us and now we have a fren to take care of
https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Amity206/Sky_Lore_Theories
This might help! Sorry that it’s messy
thank you!
are elders made up of Samarium magnesium aluminium radium hafnuim??.............
Hi there I have questions, can I just drop them here?
Like why is the sky underneath Eden blue?
Who is the sleeping crab underneath grandma's area?
Why is the crab at turtle area in Sanctuary friendly?
the last one i understand those crabs by the turtle area are free of those black specks of darkness on them, meaning to probably imply that its the darkness which makes them aggressive in the first place
i'm not sure about the other two things though, i dont even think i've seen the sleeping crab
It's here, when you chibi fall next to the cave tunnel
(Someone said it's dead...)
Ahh I never noticed! Should look closer at the crabs. Just wondering why this certain one doesn't have this darkness
i wonder if its stored there for some reason or event that isnt currently enabled
also i havent seen the blue sky under eden, but if its another thing out of bounds like that i do note that under i think every map in sky is water way at the bottom as almost like a default under the map
It's not the only oob crab 😄 I heard there are others at different places too
I think under Valley is sky/clouds, at least under ice rink I just drop until reset barrier. I'll check again next time
there's an out of bounds crab and fish under the aviary pond, which get lifted up if you use the
emote while the spirits there, heh
oh. actually i wonder if they're stored there for red shard events with crabs in them - the ice rink and grandma's are both shard locations i think
Another crab is under a mountain of Village of Dreams so that kinda makes sense
Sometimes after a shard my camera will pan to underground and I’ll see the crabs hidden underneath
I meant under ice rink is no water xD haven't found a crab there yet
There exist a few passive crabs in wasteland itself too, near the pleaful parent TS
You can see these ones don't have darkness on them
Hey lore chat Im writing my own lore doc but need ideas to bounce off of and compare to what I want my story to be. Do you guys have any of ur own ideas of what the elders are, and how the Eden diamond formed then shattered (hopefully ones with the prince and king? Unless all of the theories people have made have them all but whatevs idm)
there's one under the ground floor of vault too, he's a bit hard to see cause of the reset barrier though
i am so sorry i didnt mean to cold ping, i tried to turn it off but it didnt and then I pressed send too fast-
i seen crab i think
It's fine! Thanks for the answer
Were we supposed to get another trailer for the two embers this month or am i going crazy😭i swore i someone say that somewhere
We were supposed to get pilot episode… hopefully it’s coming soon
I think it was an interview that said they were going for march or april, and they've not said anything officially outside that interview, i think? so who knows how long it'l be
its most likely that it'll be delayed a few months considering how many updates theyve had to put out on the game this year.
I found a screenshot from a while ago
yea well, the global pc launch was also severely delayed past the trailer release so again, very likely the pilot will be delayed too
Yeah makes sense
When it does come out im gonna go insane😭 im so excited idc if we just get a trailer
well, onsidering how much work TGC has on their hands rn, its likely that the pilot wont come out until either winter or next year
guys weird questions, do skykids have mouths? if so, why?
I mean they can eat flaming marshmello so idk
skykids dont.. seem to have mouths design-wise but like alan said it can be likely since they can eat and drink? but considering their purpose, they dont really have a reason to have mouths evolutionarily speaking
Wait hold on they can honk does that mean they do have mouths under their mask?
well, no, if you use maskless tjey also dont have mouths. The honk seems o be more of a light thing than an actual vocal.
Why does a simple question actually got me thinking. Just hold on let me think
take your time my man, no rush
WAIT DO SKY KIDS HAVE ORGANS
well, that depends, they are clearly a hybrid of light and ancestor, so it would make sense if they DID have organs, but skykids, and any light creatures at all, dont NEED to eat, nor do they excrutiate waste
plus, again, skykids and other creatures have no need for organs
Wait so do they just burn the marshmello and crabs inside their stomach when they eat cause like you said they are light
maybe, if they have any stomach, ,,also i think its unlikely they eat crabs, thats a thing that the ancestors did,
Like "Light" like fire
yea, maybe. could also just be since theyre partly made of light they could be warm enough to instantly burn the stuff.
Ooh now that makes sense why they cant excruciate waste
Wait if the ancestors eat crabs how do they do it do they just peel the shelling?
well, it seems they fry them, but the rest of the process is up to interpretation
maybe the ancestors just had really strong teeth
I mean maybe the crabs at that time just has a softer underside belly so I'd assume they fry them first and take the underside of their belly
permayhaps
Dude why is this actually making me hungry
Ooh theyre legs! I didnt realize they can probably eat the crabs legs
Ooh wait can we eat manta? I mean in some cases we see manta being captured probably to be selled but just what if it was for a very rare feast?
mantas were mst likely used to power darkstone and create artificial stars as seen in concept art and murals, but its possible the ancestors couldve occasionally used them for exotic meals
I wonder how many candles you gotta buy to get to eat a manta
probably 1000+ if the ancestors did use candles as their currency. Skykids wont eat mantas though so i dont think it matters to em
I mean the only one who can eat mantas are probably only reserved for the highest in the seat of power
yep, people like the elders and the king probs, or people who lived in the upper-class and floating homes
Oh and probably jellyfish as well cause they can be used to power things as well as far as I can remember
squids? do you mean jellyfish?
Aha yes sorry
haha dw abt it, all creatures have diff international names afterall
Given what are mantas irl, defo exotic. Same with whales.
Imagine how must their cutlery look like, if they had them. They had weapons, so it's not far to think that they had cutlery as well.
We do have heartbeats that's for sure
So like. king shaped
not so much a lore question, more so a random thought lol
what do you guys think skykids would do in their free time? obviously if the sky world were real they wouldn’t be candle running 24/7 or going to eden for fun. i know playing instruments would be an activity they could partake in, but what else?
like
do they cook? hang out with spirits? swim? the possibilities are endless
another question: do you think there is a world beneath sky? from what i can understand and see in the game, it’s set in the clouds with floating islands and other unusual features. places like daylight prairie and the hidden forest seem very ‘up high’, while the valley and isle seem more down to earth. also, is the vault at the bottom of the eden mountain? the exit is right by the eden entrance so i assume it is
third question (and last, hopefully), what do you think the mountain to the eye of eden would have looked like in its prime? the first section seems extremely primitive in terms of architecture, and only really gets ‘good’ at the entrance to the second phase. would this area have been covered in greenery and flora, maybe a garden of some sort? i don’t see why, as it’s very rocky. the second section is much more industrial from what i can see, with lots of pipes and scaffolding, which kinda leads me to think it was an epicentre for the processing of light, when darkness started being created. the final phase is very empty, but still has some infrastructure dotted about. i haven’t been to eden in a few weeks so i’ll have to go again and get some screenshots, but i’m pretty sure there’s some doors there that look like they would have lead to large hallways and stuff like that.
i lied, FINAL question. the floating castle part (the bit that you fly past when ascending): was that the ACTUAL home of the king, set apart from the rest of eden? it’s my favourite part of the game but i’m not sure what it actually is. or is the part before that (where you fly past all the king jellyfish and the pillar gets smashed) the actual castle?
My interpretation of skykids outfits from concept art
(Not sure if this is where I should put this, so if anyone has issue I'll be sure to delete)
Ok so first i think skykids just kinda explore around and try to fix the world with other skykids canonically because they are in a cycle of reincarnation.
The sky world seems mostly set on either the earth itself or the cloud islands. It seems some rocks just kinda float.
Also no the wasteland is at the bottom of the mountain while the vault is inside it. Ill show some concept art for reference.
The points we know that are connected to the earth is the isle, sanctuary islands, the valley( but its only on top of high mountains which is why it snows there), the wastelands, and the eden mountain. Areas like the daylight praire seems to be floating landmasses while the forest seems to be its own ecosystem that flourishes inside the clouds. Ill show some concept art for reference.
The city at the top of the mountain would've probably looked like a city that had architecture from either the wasteland or the valley. The only good look we get of how it would've looked is in the ascend to orbit where it looks like valley buildings made up most of the place but in some photos we got from the upcoming series trailer it seems to have more wasteland architecture, which would be fitting because of how industrialthe ruins seem to be. I doubt there was grass up there, only snow. But the snow was probably blown away when the storm began.
And finally yes i am pretty sure that is the castle that contains the thrown of the king.
Heres a map of sky. Concept art but i think its still good
Yea lol ,wanted to give a better version 🙂
As shown on the map the wasteland is right at the mountains bottom. And although in the concept art the forest existed in its own cloud i think in game it just got moved into the cloud layer that the praire is currently on cause in game the forest is lower.
So yea 🙂
There ya go :]
ahhhh i see! i love looking at concept art, it’s so pretty
i didn’t know that the vault was INSIDE the mountain, though that does kinda make sense. how come it wasn’t affected too badly by the storm? there are a few crabs and darkness plants, but other than that it’s totally safe.
I am pretty sure that darkness plants are caused by butterflies being corrupted(im not sure but its my theory). Seeing as there are no butterflies in the vault, there are no darkness plants. Also i think the vault was used like a fallout bunker seeing as it was guarded by the wasteland temple and how in season of remembrance showed people hiding in the repository of refuge.
Yeah sure cuz we need air when we swim and when the air bar gets depleted we hear heartbeat
Skykids play wind instruments. How does your theory account for this?
good point, hm. As i said, no reason for skykids to truly have mouths considering theyre just kinda meant to.. die? And again, no mouth design-wise, but maybe thats for the sake of the game. No reason to add details like that if noone cares, i suppose. At the samr time, manatees dont have mouths ingame but the manatee following steward in the embers trailer has a mouth.
Theres a lot of thinking that goes into this, like, are honks just made our of pure light or do they also let out gusts of air, and if so, maybe the honks can be redirected to be used to play wind instruments? If no, what makes crabs flip over when we honk? Is it the sound? Is it the bright light? But that wouldnt make sense since non-corrupt crabs still get flipped. And do we have all organs? Do we have blood? Do we have intestines? Kidneys? Why only some specific organs and not all of them? Or why all of them if theyre not of any use?
With new knowledge comes new conclusions and new theories, either i find a way for my theory to adapt to your feedback or i throw it out and make a new one
That's the fun with theories, isn't it? 😄
It sure is, well, the question if skykids have organs is honestly something i think i need more time to think about. I shall come back once i figure out something more plausible, or just have unrelated stuff to yap about
is anyone else interested in the theory that the first child in the two embers trailer could be alef, the prince? because the trailer does say this animated series canonically takes place before the fall of Eden, I’d love to see more of the king and Eden’s background
Honestly, if Skykids have organs, it's probably ones that are able to sustain fire as well, which is pretty much fire-triangle stuff (oxygen - lungs, thus ability to honk and play wind instruments; fuel - ability to eat and drink, but without being able to produce any waste; heat - the heart, which would be where the starlight-soul is located).
These theories are making me think so much. Honestly, I really like reading them though.
Back to lurking I suppose
Ok hear me out
If the Deer can fend off Krills, does that mean theoretically, it can destroy the Eden Diamond? Does it need the power of friendship to do it?
Thus I'm pretty much on par with the idea that Skykids are golems with starlight-souls. x3
Honestly, no, as Eden Diamond is so overwhelmingly powerful, not even Elders were able to take care of it after shattering. It is stronger than Krills though, definitely ... but do mind that we're also having the Leviathan and, nowadays, that creepy Darkness Worm as well.
The child with the frizzy hair? Most likely no. They are probably the hopeful steward, considering the hair itself but thats not confirmed, obviously. Either way, its very unlikely its the king for the fact that the child in the trailer explores the wasteland shipwreck, a shipwreck which had statues of the king on it, meaning at the time of making, alef had already become king and gotten a higher status. Its a cool theory, tho
I agree with Spectra in the way that the deer cannot destroy the eden diamond, but also, just because the elders couldnt destroy it doesnt really .. mean much. Ive already talked about this theory in the past but, collab deities (excluding AURORA) do not have 'normal' light, considering they arent originally from Sky. The power the deer has is clearly strong enough to fend off dark creatures (rather than destroy them, as seen at the end of the ncd 5 quest, since the krills get flinged away.) but wouldnt be strong enough to destroy darkstone crystals, especially not the eden diamond.
Guys I have a question
any next seasonal spoiler guys?
If it's called Sky: Children of the Light, and the Eye of Eden is called The Light, does that mean that Sky Kids are children of Eden?
Remind me where exactly eden is reffered to as 'the light'? As far as i remember, the entrance quote to eden only refers to there being a light beyond. Maybe im forgetting something?
If you want news on beta, this isnt the channel to ask ^^ you can always search for beta sky content on youtube or just ask in the beta chats. Cheers!
For example, when you complete a realm constellation, it says "Visit the light" which means you have to go through Eden again, plus you come back after being reborn in Eden
Eye of Eden is actually separate! The Light is after Eden I believe
..Well, i think that refers to the fact that eden is a gateway to 'the light'. Ascended spirits dont appear in eden, they appear in orbit, which is the area past eden. Megabird, orbit and 'the light' are not part of eden. Eden is a gate.
True (its a nice thought tho)
Yea, i suppose it is an interesting theory. I mean, nothing is ever confirmed, so in a sense, all theories are false and all theories are true
but thats just generic philosophy and not sky-related philosophy
Another thing, in one Shard memory, the Eden diamond one, the Elders are all being flung back, so does that mean that the Elders originally lived in Eden before something happened and caused Eden to be corrupted and the Elders to be scattered into their respective realms? Hmmm
Well, it seems that its more likely the elders went to check on the eden diamond because of its instability to see if they could fix it, or they tried to take shelter during the war, and then the shattering happened. Wrong place, wrong time (also, they were already elders before the shattering and had status in their respective realms so)
Maybe... But then why would they keep something so dangerous and unstable at a special place? Unless they were trying to fix it? Or control it or something (Ye ik that) (Imagine being the Elder of a wasteland dam) Also did we ever find out what happened to the King and Prince? Or did they die in the Shattering or something?
Yep, the king most likely died in the shattering alongside the elders as he also shows up in the memory, but considering he was PROBABLY a prototype skykid, the darkness trapped him in the storm. And also, the King was a tyrant and built the eden diamond at eden (which was beforehand a holy ascension ground) either for the sake of not letting light creatures ascend to destroy megabird and take over, or he did it to create a light source considering the light creatures would just mindlessly fly into the false beam and get sucked into the diamond. Obviously it could be both or none, but thats what the evidebce points to. Im personally on the side that the King built it to trap light creatures and not let them ascend, then eventually covered it up as a power source and tried to create a false orbit and take over megabird.
Theory correct or not, its very clear he was a terrible person and tyrant in some way. He very clearly did nothing about the animal abuse and experimentation aswell as not doing anything about unsafe working enviroments and pollution. also some of the theories do say that he started all of the bad stuff which i .. kinda do agree on, yea
Then that would mean he created Krills (IF they came from the diamond, if not then they probably existed before the event or maybe longer)
I wonder if the prince died or fled. Maybe he knew what would happen and fled from Eden?
Krills didnt come ONLY from the eden diamond. They also came from the lighthouse experiments where mantas were experimented on and corrupted to create diamonds/artificial stars. Im pretty sure the leviathan/king krill is synthetic and all of the lighthouse experiments happened LONG before the eden diamond appear imo. Also, probably just a way to foreshadow the future, but the prophecy murals where the prince is shown achieving his status as king, a krill is seen hiding in the clouds. I personally think its foreshadowing and a meaning of awakening. Krills came long before the king.
Maybe (they're also in gw so its possible some experiments took place there)
The leviathan is the only krill to not attack you after a quest so maybe there's a reason for that? (Probably not lol)
Thats also pretty unlikely since we do see the mask of the king in the elder shattering memory, pointing down at the child of light at the top of the diamond. There are LOTS of theories saying the prince is the eden child. ..also i swear i heard some text somewhere about the king being trapped in the storm. Prob some concept art
Honestly he deserved it
I mean, experimentation happened in forest too
Because of the crabs found there or because of the rain and darkness plants?
I perdonally think it just couldnt be bothered enough atp, and also, its an intelligent crewture most likely. I think it knows better than to reswallow a creature that nearly killed it.
(Why does it have a wind barrier lmao) Probably was a mistake when it swallowed the skid (not for the Manta I'm sure it meant to eat that)
So i actually typed a lil thing and im not retyping it cuz.. idk, but basically, forest temple? Manta squeezer as named by community. Manta get turned into artificial star. Explains why manta get released in temple.
Or they were being kept for experimentation but never got to be a star?
(The wind barrier is most likely just for pure gamrplay mechanicd and not lore related.) Didnt seem as much of a mistake, if im being honest. Dark creatures are agressive by nature and its not something that seems repressable. Kinda like the darkness does a weird mind control thing, which can also explain why the king turned evil.
(Ye ik that lol) The leviathan has fish above him but he never eats them so he's probably traumatized by the manta XD
Well, artificial stars arent.. stars. They seem to be just, darkstone. I think the lighthouse experiments were an out-of-public (for safety reasons) way to test manta squeezers. Though it does seem that, well, the temple mantas were lucky enough to escape that fate.
Sky is kinda a dark game once you realize the Skids and Elders are all stuck in a never ending loop
Yea. I have an oc based off of that entire concept actually! He believes AURORA/megabird is a monster for creating life and thinks shes selfish for the fact that she only uses the creatures to feed on them and doesnt bother enough to actually do things herself
but thats straying a bit off-topic. Its more sad than dark tbh
I have a whole au with my skids that has a different reason for Eden being corrupted lol
If you wanna send me the story do tell, but, please in DMs.
i think most of us would prefer to keep oc/au-related stuff out of here /gen
Slightly off topic, I think dark stone in it's natural form is neutral but can change into a dangerous form
(ill dm after school lol)
Yea, ive BEEN YAPPING OUT THAT TO MY FRIENDS FOR SO LONG. As seen in prarie peaks, darkstone is completely harmless in its natural-occuring form but becomes dangerous once it becomes conctentrated and overproduced, and also made with the INTENTION of entrapping light. Natural darkstone most likely just takes a harmless amount of life from creatures near it to grow further and stuff like that
Wonder if it was mined to create the Eden diamond
Well, it was mined at first to be used as a general power source for boats etc, the eden diamond wasnt created in a day, afterall
Maybe they concentrated a bunch to make it? It would have to be a pretty big amount to make something so big
Oh I also have a thing that I'm kinda proud of. I think the king and elders all desired safety, but they had different approaches. Some parallels I came up with (I actually have a web drawn up, Idk where it is though)
Emotional safety - Physical safety
Nature - Technology
Love - Fear (this is the motivation behind why they do what they do)
Migration - Civilization
Togetherness - Isolation
Cooperation - Fighting (Idk what word I used here)
Selfless - Selfish
I think the king acted out of fear rather than love. He wanted to change the world, to make it a better place to live. But he messed up, and he started acting out of fear/selfishness rather than love.
WAIT LET ME JUST READ ALL OF THIS I HAD TO DO SOEMTHING aaA
Eden prince is the little prince/j XD
Also at the abyss area!
I agree. Though definetly, a lot of what he did wasnt necessarily of his own actions. Considering he did .. become corrupted.
(remind me to dm u later lol)
Yeah, I think corruption probably fuels a feeling of...hunger, fear possibly, and a yearning for light.
Oh man darkness is totally like a parasite, it drains the light and doesn't let the krill have any 😭
Yea, but like, the bad stuff definetly started BEFORE corruption. Blud had to get corrupted SOMEHOW. I think he (the king) did a LOT of bad out of heart before the corruption, but his overuse and obsession of it was imminent pretty fast. Well, maybe he just wanted good for his people and wanted to find a mass-producable power source and he did it for a good reason, and after some time it got to his head. Good intention or not, what he did was terrible.
Yeah, he still really sucks. Though based on the thing Jenova said about Two Embers, he might have been a child??
Holy i realized ive never talked this much in lore chat. This is truly feeding my need to talk to others about sky lore
..Elaborate? Yes, ofcourse the prince was a child and maybe blud got crowned a bit too early but .. as a (presumed) child of light, he shouldve known a bit better than to go against his creator, and megabird seemed a lot more prevalent in the princes life than she wouldve been a normal skykids (as implied in office water mural). Also, ..the elders didnt seem much against any of the ideas which is quite concerning. Hm
actually yea, why didnt any elders except for the isle elder go against all the terrible decisions? Especially IF the prince was a child when he did all of the stuff, why didnt the responsible adults do anything??? Also i just realized its .. quite unlikely the prince became king as a child considering conxept art for the king shows the prince (a child), the king (an adult) and then the corrupted king (presumably adult?), meaning that there was definetly a time where the king was an adult before corruption and turning evil.
Also i just realized, maybe for 'fighting' you used war or conflict?
Yeah, does seem unlikely that he would be a child now that I think about it. Here's what Jenova said
SPOILER WARNING
Possible spoiler(?) about the unreleased "Two Embers"
||It tells the story of two children, and the drama about the two of them trying to help people. One of them seeks power to change the world, but in the process he’s corrupted and destroyed. The other one tries to save the world by convincing the former world to give up its power. The boy becomes a king.||
For fighting I kinda just meant not working together. Being contrary kinda. Refusing to listen to others' ideas and such
...i think jenova might be forgetting his own lore
/j yea the way its phrased can be confused in the way that the child becomes the king while being, well, a child, but thats obviously not it. Its a long process, a journey, afterall.
Yeah, that makes more sense.
Might be more like, he grew up from boy to King
aging process of sky kid:
moth
child
royalty
evil
/j
(Unrelated, I looked at your profile to see your pfp better, but then I saw you are autistic. Hello fellow autistic person OvO)
(Haha, hello!!!! The.. autism is kinda the reason im in the lore chat
)
(same here 😌)
So, to continue lore convos, where do you think the trials.. are? Theyre seemingly just in a cold, snowy, gray void. And its also very clear the trials were made for skykids, probably coming from the fact that the arrival of the prince was predicted with the prophecy but.. still. Is it like a pocket realm? Does megabird have any influence there? Seemingly yes simce light still exists there but its all so.. artificial. Are dark worms artificial, perhaps?
I have been confused by the trials for so long. I find it very strange. Worth noting they're all icy, probably a hint?
Thats some really cool stuff
i dont usually take notes, except for that one time where i was bored and tried to mark down all the mural symbols and put labels for what they mean
I have redrawn the murals and written intros down so many times, trying to piece things together 🫠
Most likely. Maybe its a vaccuum? But since skykids do have limited air, theyd die. Hm. Why do we reset once we get out of bounds of the trials? Is that perhaps a canon thing? Maybe its to not cheat, but how did they do that? How did they.. create the powers for the end of each trial? Whyd they put candle cakes if they seemingly didnt use candles as their own currency, and either way, what would the point of those being there after a trial to become royalty and not become rich be? If its a pocket dimension, why are there winglights there? How does the teleportation to the trials work?
And there's the murals which show dead bodies in each trial, which is disturbing. Especially after the spirit memories showing young people seemingly preparing for the trials
Well, that could most likely be them mindlessly looking for THE prince. Maybe they saw he would arrive, but they didnt see HOW, so they just tried out multiple children and saw which one survived. I dont think it was them doing it on purpose, i think they were trying their best and failed in a terrible way.
I remember completing the trial used to make us so bright, and we'd leave and people knew we completed a trial just by how bright we were. Idk if that has any relevance though.
Was it in a previous version or was it LA?
It was in 2020! I'm not sure when they changed it
Hm, well, perhaps it had a lore reason but was removed for the sake of game performance. Hmmmm, need some time to think about that. But that still doesnt answer WHERE the trials are..
Are there any pocket spaces like them anywhere else?
..well, the shard voids, but its more JUST a pocket space than a pocket space LIKE the trials.
All of the trial islands are floating. So I'm really not sure where they would be located. They're weird
Well, floating island arent.. TOO weird, well, except the fact that the trials are clearly man-made and other floating islands in sky are natural. ..howd they even build the trials?
We only khow the trials must at least have some relevants to the prophecies, did they created it? Did they finished the trial?
..well, duh they finished them. But its like, yea did THEY create it??? How???? Where?????? Howd they find that weird gray void????
And there's like...no area surrounding the trials. No features at all
Yea, ..and HOWD THEY NOT CONSTANTLY DIE?? its clear that ALL of it was made. Wouldnt they just fall into the void and respawn repeatedly? Howd would they build during that? Did they bring portable platforms with them? But how would they do that considering items arent allowed in trials?
the teleports to the trials were also very clearly manmade.. ??????
Buff moth doesn't need a cape to be buff
And also, how did they even add the no items and no cape restrictions??? Maybe its just gameplay but.. theyd need a way to stop people going in to stop cheating so it makes sense why they added those restrictions. Im guessing the no cape is there only bc of the prince considering ancestors couldnt fly. ..but then why didnt they previously check which kids can fly and which cant to see who was the prince? ..but still, the trials are a doozy to think about
they might have been doing the "Finding the chosen one" thing? Since many has actually DIED while trying to complete the trials, and only the prince/king was able to complete all 4
Well, yea, it does seem they did that but were not talking about completion rn, more like, construction and location of the trials.
"The light that swirled here was not warm
These were no drifting currents
Songs lost to the void
Bewildered in final moments of stillness"
Idk, reminds me of this. But I have to clean a cage so I can't think on it
I think that quote specifically refers to the shattering. "Bewildered in final moments of stillness", also considering the fact that im quite convinced that all of the TGC shattering memory quotes were.. about the eden diamond or the eden shattering. But it does sound close to the trials. Definetly not it, tho. Hmm.
It was more targeted at the static memories, possibly the whole state of the Sky Kingdom after the eden explosion
Well, yea, most likely. Though it does seem some of them were meant as pre-explosion due to the whole referencing of a false light and stuff, referencing the eden beam being false considering light creatures got trapped in the diamond while trying to ascend. shattering memories also referes to "static memories" btw /gen
Wait... What if it was a prophecy ? It's really similar to oracles from astrologists and soothsayers: Prophecy about the end of the world
Well, it seems that the prophets did in some way predict the destruction, considering the inclusion of the krill on one of the prophecy murals which was most likely meant as as a foreshadowing by them. They couldnt do much, though. Its fate.
Yeah, I just wondered if there might be a connection. Cold light
Cold light probably referes to the eden beam. Anywho, hmm, i mean, we have the pity rooms that can be considered voids similar to the trials? But idk if those are lore-canon or just for gameplays sake.
Why am I thinking now that the Trials are actually their own elemental worlds that were made by the Megabird/whatever made the rest of the world in general and were accessed by the Prophets?
..that actually might be pretty likely. Perhaps megabird created the trials to test out the proto-skykid, explaining the office water mural?
...
And speaking of Shattering quotes, they do mention "a spirit sundered in the break", which sounds to me like what we see in memory 6 with the symbol of the King above the Eden Diamond.
Dude was literally eradicated.
Blud did NOT have a good time
Could be, or rather they were elemental worlds of their own which were then either turned into trials on behalf of Prophets or Prophets use/d them as such.
Well, yes, thats what i meant, sorry if it came across as otherwise
Since even in our universe, many planets are about as bare as this and this could explain the weird physics in each Trial.
(the credits do show at least one planet and the Citadel sort of reminds me of an old observatory)
hm, maybe, but, valley was clearly used for competitions, but i can see the resemblance. We do know the citadel was used for manta racing tho, and the spinning stuff everywhere was purely meant as deco or obstacles.
Defo obstacles alright, even if they do remind me of something an old observatory would have all the same.
Yea, probably cause if the shape of the middle platform. Looks like there should be an observatory-like dome over it..
Candles would pretty much serve as a sort of a reward/safety measure and wl ... well, I will go to my own suspicion that they showed up post-Shattering and were pretty much spread all over like children they look like.
As I do believe that wl are what is left of the King post-Shattering that wasn't absorbed by the Eden Diamond.
i personally think they were there from megabird. Atleast some .. gosh im so sneepy rn uhhfhburbjfbk i cant think give me a moment to process all of this
The spinning things are gyroscopes and they actually has meaning, it's how astrologists measures the star, in here it's most likely related to the construction of the citadel, how they were able to match with the stars placement and build perfectly shaped pillars n all
Ooohh, never thought about that!!! Well, not rly thinking abt anything rn. Im gonna.. sneep, gn lore chat!
might come back later if i cant fall asleep
Now I wish to see how would the Citadel look like as an actual citadel ... 🤭
The citadel looked like it plummeted half of it into the coulds tho
Sounds like either it's a construction mishap or something that happened post-Shattering, as given the Elders memory, that looks strong enough to actually cause a whole cataclysm throughout the entirety of the Kingdom.
I would presume a nuclear bomb-grade explosion.
ok so i cant sleep so uhh. What i have to dsy about that is, well, i think its purely a platform, considering that warrior of love, in their memory, had no sign of there being a citadel, plus all of the spirits there just kinda flew right through where it shouldve been. ..honk shnoo mimimir
ima be real i didnt know this game had lore until i joined this server
Understandable
It has it and it's dark!
the skykids are in a coma irl real
As for the Citadel, we pretty much don't know how it looked like before the game's time, thus all can be a mere suspicion unless the animated series shows us it as well.
Honestly, aside from the cracking arcitecture, it seems to be one of the least affected places.
It's pretty much as much of a ? as the Trials.
Which place do you all think was affected the least?
Citadel are suppose to be a big building that defends the main hub/castle so i doubt the citadel looked as bare bone as it is now but with more covered and supplies
Citadel or sanctuary islands
I would absolutely say Hermit Peak/Valley.
Isle of dawn
Since aside an occasional shard fall, it doesn't have any darkness at all. 🤭
ohhh yea, good point, forgot that place exists. ..well, in a sense, the collab areas are TECHNICALLY the least affected. But from normal game, hermit valley is prob one of the least affected places. ..also i feel isle was affected in some way, but i cant quite put my finger on it. ..theres just something im forgetting, i swear to aurora.
Well, the animated series trailer does show the Dawn rock ... and it seems that before Sky (game), the Isle of Dawn was actually more resembling Daylight Prairie than itself.
Isle was just pretty much abandoned, lost in time and suffer desertification
Yea, in a sense, it wasnt affected by outside stuff like darkness and corruption, nature just did its thing.
Desertification is caused by a number or reasons though, one being changed climate. 🤔 And an explosion this big can definitely affect the climate in a huge way.
Thing kind of looks to me like it might've managed to survive the initial explosion, but due to changed natural cycles and mechanisms of nature being thrown out of the wack for Megabird knows how long, it gradually became a desert.
Also good point. Ah well, maybe i AM too sneepy for this
Which reminds me, I like how, when it comes to degradation, Isle of Dawn is a polar opposite of GW and Eye of Eden in that regard.
ASMR has no power to walls of texts
Since both GW and Eye of Eden are clearly being degraded by humanoid actions while Isle of Dawn has been by acts of nature ... sorta.
I'm just hopping in quick, not staying because things to do. But I had an idea about valley elders. I think perhaps in valley soldiers trained for war
Sounds like something that ancient Greece tended to do and I'm not against it as well. 🤭
As technically, their competitions and Olympic games were made to both showcase their form and skills (as honor to the Gods) and to keep them sharp in case of any conflicts, especially in ancient Sparta.
Before they evolved into what we have today, which can as well happen there as well, which would make the name of the Valley into a brilliant double-meaning.
It didn't suffer the explosion since isle was the furthest realm from eden
Maybe the simple reason for the desertification is cold seas. Basically, Air blown onto the coast from a cold ocean contains no moisture to fall as rain,so isle slowly becomes a desert
Given the multiple factors of desertification, that can defo be a thing as well, together with potential drastic climate change from the boom.
...
Speaking of Eden again, I really wonder what are statues supposed to be though. They look like Skykids in the game, sure, but who were the very first ones that became petrified like that? Actual residents of the place?
Sorry for going off topic, I realized I should share something I found a while ago. Elders' meyers Briggs, from concept art
Isle elder - ENFJ, Prairie - ESFJ, Forest - ISTP, Valley - ESFP, Wasteland - ESTP, Vault - INFJ, Eden - ENTJ. And some other things that are hard to read
Dude.
I wonder how did you determine their personality types, seriously. 🤭🤭
Process of elimination 😂
I looked at the personality type names, which types were underlined. It's hard to read so it took a bit to figure it out. King is King, the teacher is Isle elder. Shaman is Vault. Engineer is Forest.
ENTJ is commander
ENFJ is protagonist
INFJ is...I forget now, but super caring and tries to understand others. Like a counselor
ESFJ is consul I believe
ESFP is entertainer
ESTP is entrepreneur
INTJ is virtuoso
I may have mixed up some letters, it's very confusing
These abbreviations feel like magic runes
||Yeah, I agree for the GW part
Wonder if the Tyranids lore expands||
That aside, I assume it was torn apart by conflict and undergoing corruption
I mean
Aurora shows isle used to be green and everything
So i think it got hit by the darkness pretty bad, even if it's doing better now
Was Valley always covered in snow?
yo lore chat, why does rain hurt the sky children? swimming doesn't seen to affect them. i was thinking maybe it's because the overcast sky prevents the sunlight from keeping them alive but then why wouldn't they be drained just by standing in wasteland? idk, does anyone have any ideas?
personally i think the water is polluted with some kind of darkness as a byproduct of the darkstone refining process they seem to have done some of in forest, i wrote a bit about my theory here if you're curious, heh.
I agree with @edgy kernel. I also think that the rain in the Forest is polluted as a result of darkstone production and is similar/the same as the dark water we see in the Wasteland. It has darkness in it, so it saps our light. Despite our sky kid shivering, coldness does not seem to affect them (see our sky kids in the Valley and flying through space unaffected), so it’s most likely the darkness inside the water. With the Forest in particular, I am reminded of acid rain, a real-world occurrence that is a result of polluted water coming down as precipitation. It is also a harmful type of rain.
Not saying that the rain in the Forest IS acid rain, just that it reminds me of it.
its kindof like an early sign of the bad things to come, with darkness and corruption around
so uh what exactly happened to everyone i know nothing
darkness worm???
the trails according to the murals seem to be made to find a “chosen one”. it looks like these trials were done by multiple people but they all failed or were killed in the process, until the yellow child in the mural arrives and completes each trial and is granted magic by the prophets. he is sent up to Eden and in the final mural it looks like he becomes the prince/king so it could be Alef’s/Resh’s story of origin
it looks like the trails could be a dream of some kind where if you die in the trial you might not wake up irl, that’s one theory i heard. it could also be the void in the vault of knowledge somewhere since the void looks so big.
oh interesting!! I had a similar idea a while ago, mostly based on the idea that if you have a prophecy telling you your chosen one will be born on the Isle of Dawn, it would make sense to have every kid there do it to cover all your bases. And if every kid does it, well, obviously it would have to be some kind of magic simulation thing, but they can’t all literally die. It could still be dangerous though, either physically or mentally traumatic in some cases.
I do also like the more common theory of it only being a few chosen kids, and the trials being more fatal, because then the stakes are higher and it has the potential to show a darker side of ancestor society. Either one works and has the potential to be super interesting, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone else have that same idea and I think it’s neat:3
Let’s GOOOO
ok. 🧍♀️
Hello! I remember someone shared an image of how all of the realms are set up in reference to each other, could someone send it again? maybe theres multiple versions lol
Hey I’m new here, what are the main theories or summaries of the lore?
As well as most like the Shattering event itself if GW is still presumed to be at the foot of the Eden Mountain. But defo ancestor-made mess.
I was having a discussion with a friend about Sky in dms, and we were talking about how the colour blue is calming, thus, why you sometimes may happen to get a sleepy feeling when in the area
My friend cursed Eden out for suddenly being red and scary, upon getting in...
Which raises the question-
Is it a reference to the saying of " The calm before the storm " ?
Because Vault is oddly calming, easy, relaxing even... but when you get into Eden, it's scary, loud, bold... not to mention, also a storm
Technically, you are in a state and place of calmness, where nothing is happening, before reaching Eden- right??
Can also be that and, brilliantly, it also shows how are memories of old (age even, as VoK is synonymous of both night and the "calmness" of the old age in a way) like in our minds; controlled, still and calming, like dreams.
Eden, in that sense, is both the storm after the calmness and also a very brutal symbol of one's passing in both material and spiritual way; where all one is is turned back into what they were before being born.
Ok let me ask this are the crossover events cannon? Like the Little Prince and Aurora??
Personally I think they're likely either canon in their own way(especially when it comes to Aurora and showing us events that have happened in the Kingdom's history), or there's select parts of each crossover that have been adjusted to fit into Sky's story as a whole and others that are....a little more out there
What if the crossovers are just different worlds/planets/realms
thank you for your response! that's a cool theory:D
I'm gonna draw this all spirits design from mousepad
Uh. Well ain’t that a question. Hm. All I know is that I’m 80% sure there’s technically a god in game and it’s name is Megabird ||I am baby lore person don’t take anything I say as fact||
But most of the things are fan theories and guess as not A LOT has been confirmed one way or another so most theories (within reason) are accepted as something that could be true
gotcha gotcha
people, can you tell me what's the story of The Golden Wasteland?
The things we do know are this
In the trasure reef, they used a lot of dark crystals and had captured light creatures, it's likely they used the creatures' light to power the crystals (from the murals and environment of the reef)
The mutliple ships and name seem to imply it used to be a rich area, doing a lot of trading of precious ressources (enchantement boat, shipwreck, reef)
At some point, a little before the Shattering, a war broke out (aurora and rememberance both show us said war)
And then the shattering happened, and now GW is what we know it as
Aurora shows us that the war was still happening when the shattering happened and everyone died
It's often theorized that the war came because of the question of if light and creatures should be respected, or used as a tool
But i am not aware of confirmation for that being the reason
I did hear that GW was inspired by man VS nature as well.
Why did the eden elder change from good to evil
We don't know anything about his personality
Wether he was good then evil, or well intentioned but misguided, evil straight up, whatever else
The concept art shows a corrupted king but concept art is not full confirmation by nature of not having made it to the game
The thing is
We know very little of the kind because all we get of him are
-his symbol shows up in many places
-some murals depict him
Theories are possible
But we can't have a certain answer
I don't think that Eden has Elder never saw him/her
Are there any sky lore YouTubers? Or other content, maybe on the wiki?
Well
We know someone existed
Since we have mural depictions and stuff still in the game, and that consistent recurring symbol in relevant places
You'll hear the names eden elder, king, prince, resh, alef, ect... mainly because concept art but they all refer to the same person
ok i don’t feel like searching it up as i am watching a spooky gameplay, but is there a reason why isle elder isnt on the eden gate?
I have an idea for sky kids and their white hair and the fact that we occasionally see some with color. So I that hair dye is very hard to put on sky kid hair because they are basically light and we also dont typically don't see it on spirits or in cosmetics, but I thought of an idea for the few hairs that we do have. Considering it is a rare thing it has to be something that isn't common so using plant material as hair dye doesn't really make sense to me. So I started thinking of light and other aspects of it and that led my mind to fire, and I remembered that when fire burns different chemicals it changes its flame to different colors. Like burning lithium gives you a pink color and copper a green color. Soooooo I was thinking that that would be something they use to change their hair if they know how and can get their hands on it. (I'm half asleep writing this so if something doesn't make sense I'll look at it in the morning I just didn't want to forget)
it’s said he retired because he had no one left to train after a while, so that’s maybe why he isn’t on the gate
theres also some theories that he doesnt show up cause he was the only one who went against the king
but i think he still shows up in the elder shattering memory
i like to think that the ray going to the ground represents isle
can anyone take my to the elder room in wasteland|?
What's the elder room?
I assume they mean the temple
My skykid canonically has dark purplish-brown hair fading into blue and violet
I was mostly thinking about what we have available in game rather than fanon stuff
they didn’t answer 😔
Yeah sometimes you need to ask multiple times or bump your request
alrightt
guys they dont know what the elder room is..
Quick question how is the vault of knowledge not completely obliterated yet. For starters it's carved into mount eden. Home to the most dangerous realm in all of sky. Secondly it is located in the Golden city now called the Golden Wasteland.and as we all know The Golden wasteland is home to dark dragons/ krills which have destroyed entire temples so how would they have not destroyed vault of knowledge?
Thanks
The big portcullis gate that closes as soon as you pass it prevents Krills from getting in and as for VoK, it being inside the Mountain of Eden most likely protected it immensely from the Shattering explosion, especially if the rocky door that opens up once you see the Vault Elder cutscene (which leads to Eden social space) is an actual thing.
Thank you
Thing's very much sealed, even if the journey does imply that it did suffer a lot of damage from the Shattering explosion, as more up you go, more dream-like it becomes.
And once you see the Vault Elder cutscene you again see it like it was once you came in at the start of the ascent.
But then why did the valt elder die if it was really sealed so well shut then how would the valt elder possibly die
Well, we don't see much when it comes to sustenance in the Vault, this if you ask me, it's probably due to hunger/thirst. Possibly exhaustion and stress as well.
Ok thanks for letting me know
Also, if thing was airtight, then also suffocation as well.
pretty sure in one of the shattering memories we can see all the Elders trying to prevent the Eden crystal from shattering.
Including the eden elder
It's them being blown away by the Eden Diamond as it starts its Shattering phase and yes, the symbol of the King is above it, which does make me think that it literally eradicated him to the point, he is completely unrecoverable as a spirit.
Like the kids that are destroyed in the dark dragon phase
As well as absorbing most of him as well, only leaving traces of him if we can believe the blue insides of the red shards that call to us.
Honestly, I'm totally on theory that Winged Light are the fragmented soul parts of the King and that we Skykids are golems with star-fire soul that is given sentience and feelings by the very first WL we pick up.
Well the game tells us that its the first light children who decended from the sky
Of course, since the King is completely unrecoverable as he is, this means that we Skykids can never be as powerful as he was just via collecting wl.
Yeah, this the star-fire souls inside us Skykids.
A dark dragon could just be a whale that was overcome by darkness the spikes could just be shards if you think about it
My own headcanon is that we are the children that brings hope back to a world lost to darkness. Since we are lighting everything up with our “heart” candles :3
(aka what we see/become when Eden destroys our physical forms; the blue star)
Or, given how it looks like in detail, it's literally a whale skeleton being overgrown with Darkness Plants to the point, it got resurrected as a being of darkness. 🤭
But if that's true why didn't the elders just become reincarnated
Krill, that is.
Which we indeed do and honestly, given what murals imply the King to be doing, it's just perfect karmic debt for him. ;D His actions caused downfall of Kingdom of Sky, now as Skykids he needs to return the lost light to this very world that were doomed to darkness by him.
...
Probably because of what the Cave of Prophecy murals implied (when it comes to Elders).
Aside probably being the same case as Jesus/Buddha in our world.
Aka ascending to a state of being one with the Universe/angel-like.
But he just created a Crystal he didn't shader it the whole point of the crystal was to communicate with the other elders but also you have to remember that the other elders were obliterated by the crystal because they where trying to stop the crystal from shattering they have no physical remains but they still are spirits if what you said was true then there wouldn't be any elders spirits reminding
We actually don't know who created the Diamond of Eden; only from observations, it's implied that its purpose is to be the ultimate power source for the Kingdom of Sky ... which horribly horribly backfired as it pretty much started to do the inverse and once it did, it's most likely when that Shard Memory takes place in, which is the Shattering itself.
But still the elders
Since the Elders are seen to have not been the ones that were directly handling the Diamond of Eden at its full power unlike the King, their souls got spared even if their physical forms didn't. We can still sort of see that via Storm Lock.
But the trials implied That
It was made with the colored light Collected by the eden elder
Ok
Cave of Prophecy murals don't actually show the Diamond of Eden itself, just the King.
(just to continue the Storm Lock sentence) Since no matter how much we as Skykids try to get right beside the Diamond of Eden, we just cannot. Can imagine same was with Elders there.
But what about this he must have created it he is even standing underneath it
It seems like everyone is gathering around to see the creation of the diamond
This mural is not from the Cave of Prophecy, it's from Eye of Eden itself. ;D When the King has been in power for some time ... and honestly, this shows that either he created it or he handled it with all power it had, which is something I think is more possible, given how Diamonds/Darkstone was generally presumed to be made in Hidden Forest/possibly Golden Wasteland.
At least to me, the people shown are praising the King for bringing prosperity to the Kingdom of Sky by handling the Diamond of Eden with all authority he has, as well as strength. Like this is right before all backfired and the Diamond of Eden became a light vacuum instead of the ultimate power source, kind of like how a big star becomes a black hole.
Only that in Diamond of Eden's case, it turned into a black hole for just light, but that's still enough to cause the Shattering explosion and both eradicate the King as well as kill all Elders that tried to contain it with all its overloaded power from the Universal Light ... and, in the process, starting to spread darkness all over the Kingdom.
Of course, this is strictly my own headcanon. We'll have to see what the Animated Series shows us.
To me the murals depicting this make me think the diamond was created, worked at first and then shattered
Under that interpretation, the memory scene from shattering would not be witnessing its creation, but probably trying (and failing) to stop the explosion
or maybe the elders created the diamond of eden to protect smtg that we will never know bc u cant get there and to scare players they use shards
Not really to scare as much as it is to kill outright
Because if fear was all it did, many of us would be onto the diamond as we speak
But why would it shatter in the first place
Uncertain
The hopeful steward says "we took our light for granted", which personally makes me think that it happened by itself because the ancestors at that point failed to care for light properly, made a giant crystal of it like "this is fine, this light is ours and we use it however we want" and it resulted in this
Other theories are that the king somehow got corrupted and after that caused the shattering, due to the king symbol in the shard memory and also concept art of corrupt king
But how did dark dragons come from eden? I mean I understand how shards erupting created those crabs with shards on their back but I don't understand how it could result in a dark dragon
I found a beta concept for eden
At the top it looks like it's the corrupt king
Dark dargons didn't come from eden
Aurora shows us they existed during the war, before the shattering
Both much smaller krill, and the giants we're used to
I believe one of the reef spirits also has a small krill in its memory
The shattering was when darkness took over the realms
But not when it was created
Darkness already existed before then, it was just less omnipresent
And similarly uncorrupted crabs exist, and in fact they are still present in-game (for example near the pleaful parent spirit, at the GW cooking pot), so the shard crabs probably weren't created as much as corrupted by the shards
Then how'd the infection of the dark plants begin in the first place? What's with them spreading in many places?
Especially the crabs.
I am new here, so I hope you don't mind.
Well, at the current time in the game, they're everywhere because the darkness was able to spread everywhere and take over
Back before the shattering? We don't really know
We have little knowledge of pre shattering darkness, we just know it existed to some extent
And dw, you can ask as many questions as you want here
Just noticed:
There’s a boat hull, right in the coral reef of the sanctuary islands, that shares the same design as a boat hull right at the entrance to Eden. Therefore, we can conclude that there must have been a supply line between the realms.
From the fact that the surrounding area of the boat hull is where the turtle event takes place, it can be implied that darkness spread from that boat into the surrounding area slowly, possibly latching onto the turtle. (Not sure why it hasn’t reached the crabs.) The boat, therefore, must have been transporting darkness. It couldn’t have been transferring darkness to sanc, as there’s no need. So therefore, sanctuary must have been a spot where darkness was obtained. This can be backed up by the mineshaft-like structure spiraling up in the mountain as well as the darkness tree in the middle.
That or it was something that was transporting darkness within themselves. Like crabs.
"The boat must have been transporting darkness"
I think more likely is, the boat was transporting something corruptible when the shattering struck
The boat not transporting darkness to sanc because there's no need, applies to transporting it anywhere really
Also if sanc had truly been a mining site, we'd see remnants or memories of it (for example, we are shown that this was the case of the hidden forest giant cave through memories and aurora)
I really hope they reuse this for an Eden season. I wanna 1v1 that man
Ok, so what I’m getting out of this:
1: The boat could have been transporting something corruptible, like crabs, ampules of water, light creatures. Then it was corrupted by shattering.
2: The boat has nothing to do with Eden because the Eden boat could have also been carrying darkness away from Eden. (?)
The memories portion, of course, makes sense. Can’t explain why there aren’t any memories. Best guess is that the memories occur on a certain time scale: aurora memories take place in the far past, spirit memories occur as moments in or around the Eden cataclysm. (Assuming that a Vesuvius-like event took place that flash-killed all spirits.)
If I got anything wrong, please feel free to correct.
For 2, not necessarily
It could, somehow, be related to eden
We know GW ks a place of high naval traffic from its shipwrecks and name, eden things would likely go through the prime GW to be transported
Also do note that here while i'm disagreeing with you
I'm expressing an opinion, not a fact
This is theorizing so i don't have absolute truth any more than you do
It's just we interpreted the game differently
Yes! All we can do is speculate. We aren't given a concrete answer to much of the lore. There are many possibilities
But of course; this thing is like FNaF, but much more vague. 🤭
Which is why it's that much fun to speculate about it as well ... and if TGC potentially watches this channel as well, hehe~
You hadn't been to Golden Wasteland?
Uncertain
Many people believe it was because of conflicting ideals regarding how to treat light and creatures
Is there any theory about the spirits’ memory locations in the realms? Also why we live a certain memory of theirs? What determines that?
I guess the memory's location is based on where the spirit died, given that we end the memory by lighting up a statue covered in darkness
For why a specific memory is chosen, i have no idea
And do we assume all the spirits/ancestors died due to the shattering of the diamond/crystal?
Though I assume some died naturally. I just wonder if the spirits we interact with are all linked to the shattering event
This is really cool
Those who died naturally i assume would have no reason to be trapped in darkness statues like the ones we meet, i imagine
I think gameplay wise they don’t wanna have like hundreds of statues everywhere, so they just keep some
i guess but my point stands that the spirits we see are likely all dead to shattering, otherwise they wouldn't need us in the first place
I wonder if lighting would hurt in Sky… we never actually see it in game, only Eden is the only place we hear it
I don't think we, as a skykid, would ever need to consider if it would hurt, since any material that we could theorise us being made out of (stone, wax, clay) wouldn't be a very good conductor of electricity and it's almost impossible that it would strike us in the first place
There’s a pair of battle axes in the Hermit’s abode. What could this mean?
Potentially implying that before GW, Valley was used to train soldiers as well.
Well they did die to the Eden crystal.
When the player dies, they turn to some form of statue seen from the ones we try to rescue.
Though one thing tells me, what about ushering Stargazer memory? It did show a star falling, and at the end there was a child. Same with Eden rebirth.
Pretty sure in the entrance when we newly started at isle of dawn, there were many stars that fell shown in the writings. That could explain why they came. But why would they in the first place?
What even is their reason of visiting?
Probably the same reasons we have paranormal activity at certain places in real life? Or rather reasons that would cause irl ghosts to still be present in the world of the living aka our world (yes, I believe in them due to seeing one of them)?
iirc that was an early concept for the elder cutscene in vault
so more of a vision
can someone please tell me who the king is and where was he introduced? i keep seeing ppl talk abt him but ive never heard of him b4
Not sure if this is lore based but when I was in the shard memory i realized it's the same space after you die in Eden. The little noises when you step, the background music is the same
The King is the missing Eden Elder and the reason that Sky is called "Kingdom of Sky" that we never actually get to meet due to Eye of Eden being ... insane, but we do get to see his symbol in some areas of the Kingdom of Sky (that being the 4-pointed star) and in at least 2-3 murals, he is actually shown. Is from Sky concept art.
Which does open up a lot of interesting suspicions of what the Void actually is, since when visiting Shard Memories, we don't actually become the same husk we do after death, thus ... what exactly is the Void?
wait so is the prince like his son? and did he become corrupted or smth?
srry for all the questions lol
It's all speculation at this point, thus no worries about asking. If you ask me, the Prince was who he actually was before becoming the King ... and when handling the Diamond of Eden, it was in favour of all his subjects of the Kingdom before it started to overload on Universal Light energy and becoming the thing we see in the game today, which is a red-shard-and-darkness-spewing abominable thing.
Even though there is a chance that he might've started to let power get to his head though, only that instead of abusing his subjects, he was abusing other creatures of light.
Having them be powering the diamonds, which are known as "darkstone" by the community, and trying to pretty much create an actual artificial supernova-grade star in Diamond of Eden in order to power up the rest of the Kingdom as well as assert himself as the new deity ... and that horrifically backfired through the Diamond of Eden being overloaded with energy and going into a great BOOM, which is the very first Shattering explosion (as seen by a Shard Memory).
That explosion being enough to kill the Elders of other realms and almost completely eradicating the King as well as absorbing most of his shattered soul into itself while the rest of them formed into what we now know as Children of Light/Winged Light.
wow so hes like gone gone. this is so interesting lol ty for answering
i hope we learn more abt this in tale fo two embers
One thing I do notice when I play through eye of Eden is that it’s filled with nothing but despair. I don’t know if it’s just me but, I also kind of feel like it represents the five stages of grief. And the eye of Eden kind of represents acceptance? I don’t know, I just really feel like it resonates with me. (Tw: a bit oversharing) I suffer is mdd (Major Depressive Disorder), so I feel so connected with it. It reminds me of when I finally accepted that I wasn’t ok and needed help.
Lore chat how tall do you guys think skykids are
I remember being told that they’re like 2-3 feet tall
Im sure this has been mentions before but on quest 6 in the season of shattering, the winged light there is hugging another child. Ive never noticed this before ive always just collected them without looking. Is there a theory in here as to why this one is different than the others?
I'd say that ascension represents acceptance while the Storm Lock is depression, with red shards (darkness) pelting you all around, making you weaker, and the torches (people you trust the most) only being able to carry you so far before they're just gone and leaving you with the statues to give your light to (people you care about that had fully despaired aka "fell and trapped in darkness", potentially even hinting on something even darker that they had done to themselves as well) as well, which is the last thing that is able to carry you no matter the growing darkness bringing you down again and again due to not giving up on them no matter what.
And the Child of Light after Eden is your very will to live and hope that you'll be alright even after being brought down by all this darkness that stops you from being the same as the rest of the statues; can also be pretty much anything that makes you keep going no matter what, be it other people or something else. ^-^ Just my thoughts about this.
Dunno if there is one, but if you ask me, it reminds me of when we hug the Child of Light post-death in Storm Lock, which does make me think that while the Winged Light itself is the remnant of the King, the other Child of Light (that is not collected) is Void of Shattering's memory of us Skykids, how we're willing to help no matter the odds and no matter how horrible/hopeless it is. Yes, the King is gone for good, not there to be able to be saved anymore, but the memory of us Skykids doing our all to try to help at least a little bit (according to Void of Shattering, that is) is there now.
It seems unlikely...
From what I've theorized long ago (if I feel like showing it), there are jars scattered in the prairie temple. And when the player finishes the prairie elder Cutscene, jars of butterflies come out of it.
From the hidden temple, in a canal underneath a bridge, lighting the shrine shows boats loads of jars leading to a temple. In the vault elder Cutscene, there is a time frame where it shows someone in a throne with people holding jars.
Something tells me these jars full of butterflies are used as offerings to the elders. Albeit, I don't see other jars in other temples, only prairie temple.
Maybe after offering jars, the villagers would wish for more children. And so, more children fell from the sky (as said earlier, seeing many stars fall in the wall writings if lighting the white candles of Isle of Dawn).
As for why'd they wish, you mentioned the word "paranormal". Maybe the butterflies didn't glow in the first place. Maybe because of these children, it allowed butterflies to have the potential to be used as a light source or an energy source to power things like boats.
Seeing all those children in the Two Embers teaser (forgot which teaser) jumping around with their masks and capes.
The capes do remind me of superheroes, flying around. And the masks with glowing properties come from possibly the children's magic power.
Maybe people started wearing capes and some masks to show their respect to these children?
