they're pretty much the same thing now

Zone 2 is the width of the surrounding rain that follows you throughout the final stretch of Eden. There was a bug that kept the rain from following you, leading to a peaceful Zone 3 but that has since been patched out

You can take advantage of the lone light source at the start of Zone 2 since it is under sufficient cover, but from there on is a constant barrage that you just have to endure

Not sure what you mean by clouded areas
But in order to get the hair (or hairs, plural, in the case of the Valley constelation) you need to unlock every part of each spirit's constellation map in that specific area's constellation
So, let's say you were going for the Forest Elder's hair
You would need to buy/unlock every thing in the individual spirits' constellations that make up the area constelation (cry, hide and seek, etc.)

It’s necessary! You’ll have to recollect stars afterwards, but it’s worth it!

@fringe saddle I’ve been playing it a while, think that’s my 4th time through Eden, I just ran through this time lighting as many statues as I could, got as far as the dunes. Sky helped me through some difficult times recently tho, most of the areas are just really pleasant to fly around with friends in. That’s probably left me a bit emotionally attached to my character so I don’t really like seeing her go through Eden :/

In the first sections of eden (before storm), there are 10 stars/winged lights you can collect.
Once you get to storm (where the red rain is) you want to give light to as many of the statues as you can!

ah... Eden is roughly divided into 3. First part is the rocks, where you dodge 2 areas of falling rocks, get the winged light and proceed to open the door. A few cut scenes later, that's the second part, with 3 krills then rocks again, passing a 4th krill, into a hallway of winged lights. Third part is the last, where you want to give as much wings as possible to the blue statues. When you gave them "wings", they have a blue light from their back

The ascended candles you spend to “ascend” spirits will give you permanent wing buffs when you’re reborn, so it’s super helpful. If you can’t ascend any spirits before rebirth, that’s ok! Just keep it in mind

if you're talking about forest level, light is when you are lit up (can see cosmetics and stuff). Light is basically your hp in this game. If you lost your light, you have to go to the nearest light source before losing your wing.

it's good to keep lighting up as you go in the beginning.

You can't escape the rain unless you hide under shelter, or buy the umbrella from this season's cosmetic.

Return to the light usually means going all the way through eden again. When you finish a constellation, it means you need to go to orbit if you want the elder cosmetic

and to "escape" the rain, you'll have to time yourself. the red rocks come down for a few seconds, but stop every few seconds. during the time it stops, run to the next flameable point and lit the statue up before proceeding.

You can use ascended candles with friends to unlock advanced friend levels, but it doesn't add to your wing buffs.
