I find the sequence incredibly beautiful, even after going ave. a couple times a week since this was put in the beta in April. It's possible to view everything in the game as centered of farming and collecting, but in Eden and Ascent we get to finally step back from that and see the heart of the story we've been playing and remember our connection to others, both in the game and outside of the game.
If any part of the game starts to feel grindy, there are still many other approaches to take with the game, and going through Eden isn't necessary to make friends or play the other levels. If you get bored of it, it will always be there when you're interested again.

@obsidian cypress and I figured something out last night trying to make it up that hill: the krill doesn't look behind the left rock with the red rock next to it while it is heading to the right. So we headed up there as soon as the krill went left and then could camp there until it passed to the right, then make it up the rest of the way.

I feel like when we see the cutscenes it's like a flashback, it shows the interactions the ancestors had with the children of light before everything(or during everything) that happened. It shows how some had good intentions with the children's light but others had more personal reasons to use them and thus they were punished for their selfishness.

So in 2 runs this week I cleared out nearly every star in Eden and got 9 ascension candles. I need around 60 more to ascend the rest of the defaults, which is roughly 7 weeks of hard grind (gated by Eden's weekly reset). Because unlocks above ascension hide cost until unlocked, I don't know how much is required overall of each type of asset, but to establish some perspective: to farm enough light directly gathered for the 2 50-heart capes alone would take well over half a year.

Which is why I’m glad there’s a weekly limit to eden rewards so it doesn’t get too repetitive

Well, this past several days of hard grind has yielded around 10 candles a day (gated by daily flame resets)(I hate the desert too much to grind it); Eden is cleared out for the week and I got 9 ascension candles. Unlocking the rest of my basic constellations requires roughly 60 more, so that alone will take 7 solid weeks. Then to complete them I don't know all that's required but already there's 2 capes that are 50 hearts each. 100 hearts means 300 candles or a month just for those 2 items alone. ...

I did it alone at first since everybody keeps on disapearing whenever I go , scared as heck but I succeeded ! But I'd still recommend and prefer to do it with a group since they can replenish your lights whenever your down or hit, and Its more fun to go with your group of friends or just anyone in particular

then, you get to this little vestibule, where the old entrance was and which leads into the real Eden
the first area is wind and rocks down some steps
then there is a short tunnel leading to
the area with more steps and two krill patrolling
then you enter the crab room, make your way up through a hole and
then you are on the final stretch before the tunnel with star children before the very final stage

I was noticing I got candles for flying to blue spirits in the river of doves after the storm, and also for whoever else I got close enough to on the way in, even strings of players I don't know, but it's like the races where it's only good once a day I guess, because doing it again within a few hours, it didn't. But something to keep in mind as an extra little farming op.
