Right. Eden. The notifications when you are about to enter storm lock. The first one, you tick “yes” you are ready to proceed. The second one you tick “no” if you don’t want to go home. This annoys me so much! I hit the yes on the second question EVERY DAMN TIME. That needs fixing because it is so frustrating.
Or reword the second question to require a “yes” too.

I guess there isn’t much pointing complaining as I’m guessing the amount of people who explore oob in the game is minimal but at the same time, with the amount so small I don’t see why they needed to completely neuter table movement.
It’s 90% of what I do with friends in live right now since we are out of content
And I know most of them will leave after they exhaust the new season and lose the exploration ability

As much as I understand the frustration with the table fixes, I think tgc did the right thing. People were using the table to troll other players and it was hurting their game experience. You can find other ways to explore.

Its very strange tbh. Normally OOB is something discovered from tedious playing and learning the geometry of the game. Usually after years of the game being out. A sort of "last thing to do" because there's nothing else.
Then we have TGC who have had this broken item since the beginning of the game basically, in 2016 or whenever the table was conceived, which has enabled players to go OOB constantly. Breaking the game both in immersion and exploration
The fact that they've just recently cracked down on it is baffling

The fact that the gameplay loop is so bereft of depth in terms of content and lore, to the point where a table that doesn't fit in in any way is seen as the high point of the entire game as it allows you to skip key parts of the game and access unintended areas..
It's kind of sad imo. Just my thoughts.

@sterile parrot they were using it to send players through gates, move them away from meditation spots and preventing them from completing seasonal tasks, blocking areas, leaving people behind in the 8 player puzzle room... I’m sure the list goes on, but those are just the few that I’ve seen people complain about. Tgc isn’t trying to punish anyone, but they do think it’s important that players are able to enjoy the game without other players being jerks.

In journey there wasn't any real danger or issue to being able to glitch yourself out of a level, because of the linearity of the game. In Sky it's a clear difference as the table gives a definitive edge over other players.

Griefing i agree with but I don’t see that happening after the last change (unwilling teleports that is). Blocking can still happen. Oob affects no one negatively but does add life to the game for some players and that is what has been targeted in this change, I’m just not seeing the priority being to prevent griefing with this change

@brazen flicker I guess it is hard to imagine the process where someone befriends someone, they both sit at a table, the first person tells the second “while you’re sitting please extend your hand for me and stay like that” and then the first person teleports them without their consent. I’m not saying hasn’t happened but it seems like quite a process to troll someone, which is still possible by the way since the only thing limited now is the non-malicious use of the table to teleport oneself and friends to explore.

I love the content, it’s just that exploring is the only new thing left to do recently and grinding the same levels kills the magic. I know some people like that, and I don’t mind doing the flying race for example each day but as for group activities exploring was it for my group. I know I’m the minority there and there are plenty of new players who will find the content fresh so people like me are the minority and the new players won’t know what the table could let them do so ultimately those that leave won’t matter for the health of the game.

It’s probably my fault. I thought since the table was untouched for so long in this beta that it wouldnt be changed since a small community has grown to explore like this. He was partially going off of what to expect based on what I told him was changed in beta, like access to Eden’s oob being patched out and stuff like that but the table being kept as is, until tonight at least

What's all this with the table warping? I've heard a lot of discussion regarding it floating around and I'm pretty sure I've seen one instance of it ingame but I've been kinda scared to try it (not to mention tying to be courteous of other players considering the trolling instances)...the one time I used the table spell I put it in a corner next to the Vault portal as a place for players to chill and ended up playing emotes with a stranger lol

That would depend on if oob is the real reason for the change. I’d prefer they say so if that’s the real motivation. Saying it is because of griefing while the ability to grief is completely still there doesn’t make sense. I also think that they should have put this reasoning in the patch notes. “Bug fixes” as a generic update info doesn’t really help to explain why they felt the need to remove table exploration and I assume they know there is a group of players who use the table to look for new areas. “Removed the ability to use the table to go out of bounds” or something.

i think the non chat method of communication is really nice, theres something really pure about it? in a way. but i do think its good to have the two different methods of communication for people, especially since TGC already did a great game structured around non-verbal companionship with Journey!

I’ve seen a TON of beta players just spoiling the entire game for people that didn’t get to be part of the beta testing.
I find it quite indignant that the sky devs are allowing people to join the beta just to do that while I actually want to beta test and help the game’s progression. I actually have insightful suggestions and opinions. Others just want to ruin the game for everyone else.

And intent is not a thing you can judge from some posts on the internet. People are free to share, and if they're sharing it means they're playing. If they're playing it means they're testing. Beta is not only about reporting bugs. It's about watching the data flow through servers, see if players complete normal play objectives, unlock cosmetics, make friends, etc.

If you keep walking there should be a hidden meadow and a barrier that needs the blue cape||
