Seeing some of the new players being upset at the beginning of their journey because of missing out content and collecting so many items - wanna tell you this. Don't compare your chapter 1 with someone's chapter 104. Please don't.

The only time when I got discouraged by playing Sky is when I focused on numbers of items I have or don't have, on making collecting candles my main priority, worrying I will never get rewards from the past seasons. This game is not about that. It's not your another online games about collecting everything and be ahead. Sky is not a race and you're not behind. All of you new players at the beginning of your wonderful adventure! Take advantage of it! Explore, have fun, take it slowly, make new friends, do silly stuff. That's your ultimate reward, not some pixels that you hoard and will rarely use.

Besides, you can and will catch up, eventually, and believe me it will happen sooner than you may expect. I've started on Jan 1 this year and 'missed out' on a lot of content. It was the very end of the winter season but to get the pass was pointless and yes, I wanted that campfire. But would I be fine without it and still have joyous moments, would I be able to enjoy my experience to bits and be able to have fun? Most definitely!

During my 3 months time I've collected some items, participated in one season and I have to say, the most beautiful things I have experienced were connecting to fellow humans. To hug someone for the first time, to hold hands, to fly together, to help a stranger in Wasteland on a difficult quest, to try and understand someone with a language barrier and then become friends, to find wonderful people who would admire your default cape and the only new thing you have is haircut and yet still they would cheer for you, because there are many kind people in this game who will support you. And you're one of them now, you can make your Sky life wonderful if you want to.

Enjoy your journey, make your happiness and experience a priority. Numbers and items will be there eventually, as a bonus.

Everything looks like a Very Cool Cosmetic until you actually have it and proceed to never use it. Don't worry about not having items, because the best Sky experiences come from the people you meet there, not how flashy you look.

I've passed up several event IAPs now, and I for sure don't feel as though I'm missing out.

This is very true! I've experienced that many times - desiring an item and later one rarely using it. I don't even purchase all the items from traveling spirits even though I can. The often that feeling of want will disappear right after you get something. Sky teaches me to enjoy missing out on things and never worry about not having something. I like that.

It’s very true to not worry about having everything. There have been cosmetics packs that I never bought like a swing, some Halloween items, etc. I don’t regret it at all. Sky is really about more how you experience the game with other people, and as soon as you find a look you’re comfortable with you won’t feel the need to get everything. You can aim for things, but don’t get wrapped up in the fear of missing out.

I'm not saying that collecting something is bad and you should miss everything. There's fun and and joy in it too, and your first heart purchase will feel wonderful! I still remember getting that table and I was soo excited! But just don't attach to it so much. Eventually you will have more than one cape, more than one haircut, more than one item to carry and sooner you will realize that you have more than enough. Just take it one Sky day at a time and enjoy the ride!

That's fair regarding In app purchase as well. It's super cool to support the devs and get something nice for yourself, but don't stress out if you can't have everything, and be mindful about it. You still won't be able to use everything you have at the same time, so take your time.

I agree with that, and I love that game for this point. Meet some peoples and find some friends, help players is the best reason I like this game.
But.. Well I'm a collector so even if I know that I would never wear most of the cosmetics item, I also like to have them. I know that I can't have many items like a person who play from the beginning and it doesn't bother me. I will collect all items step by step, and I will enjoy that game ^^

That's a good attitude! You will collect more items and with new season on the horizon (actually, around the corner already!) you will get much more in the upcoming month if you will play regularly. Everything feels slow at the beginning, just like in real life, but there's honestly a beauty in it - when you're not bothered with much information and just let your curiosity to guide you onward.

But there are much bigger and better things to do than be upset about something you can't change. My feelings about that beta reward had actually completely slipped my mind until I read through your message, Toni! At the end of the day, there are many things far more important than virtual items. And you'll forget about missing that stuff, you will. There's a lot of Sky ahead of us, and many more memories to make.

@indigo parrot I'm happy you understood the message! Frankly, I think it's easy to miss a point about a beta cape, as many people think on how to get it instead of how to give something. When people participated in beta in the first place am sure nobody really expected that reward and many just wanted to help, test, do something. I think, for them, the reward was experience itself. Just as for many new players now this is the main reward too - the experience. It may come in different forms but it's what it is.

The cool thing about giving, in any form, and not expecting something in return, is that you will get your reward, eventually and it will surpass any expectations. I get the feeling of desire, and again, nothing wrong with it! but I can tell you how many times I played Sky, being in a bad mood and meeting new people and connecting to them and experiencing some wonderful feelings after that, because of helping them or simply connecting, fooling around or showing them something. Not a single cape cannot beat that feeling.

I tend to be a hardcore completionist on most games. So reading all these messages is a sight for sore eyes. When I saw Sky at the pre-register catalogue of Google play I instantly got interested, the art and the atmosphere it gave off was charming!. And Sky and the Skyfam is such a nice place. I might have missed out on the exploring by myself part at some point (Hardcore completionist again, googled a walkthrough for the spirits and Winged Lights). But I will try to do all the new content on my own now, when I found that one Winged Light at the Valley temple without knowing I got so happy!

So yeah! It's ok to use a walkthrough. But try to not make that your only route! If you do, soon the game will become plain for you. Make friends! Spend those candles on the friendship tree! Explore! Be surprised!

They repeated gratitude and winter (brought back as rhythm) was because they were never in the official released game, those were something no one played outside of a very small group of beta and limited live players. Now that the game has been released seasons won’t repeat. Traveling spirits are supposed to serve the purpose of bringing back seasonal content since they offer 99% of what the original season had

you can collect the emotes as per normal, except that you get access to more cosmetics and one free extra candle every day
