The Seasonal Hearts are currency to unlock the end-of-season Ultimate Gift. Any unused Seasonal Hearts will convert to regular hearts at the end of the season. Seasonal Hearts are not tied to interactions with other players. There is no situation where you would have to choose between redeeming the Ultimate Gift and something else with the Seasonal Hearts you obtain.

This event will occur later during the Season of Belonging, but Days of Giving is not live yet. The amount you'll get from hearts should be the same right now. We will let the community know when the event is live, so no worries!

For anyone needing help finding their way when inside the maze:
Here it goes
Fly up to the second entrance, above to the right of the first. This entrace does NOT need spirits to enter. Once you’re in, continue along the path until you find a room with a star. This will also have a candle in it. Continue along the path until you reach a big room with a fire in it. This is the main room. There are 3 exits from the main room, each with one candle in them. Collect each candle from each exit by going in then retracing back to the fire. There are two exits on the floor, and one exit opposite to the entrace you originally came from
