Each season will only run once, and then it's gone forever. (Very sad)
Winter season will almost certainly come again at some point, since it has never been officially released (just tested before launch.) We don't know when though.

I haven’t been paying much attention to the seasonal event because I started playing when it was already well into it, however I have fifteen seasonal candles right now and I’m wondering if I should use them or just let them roll over into regular candles?
A cape or mask would be cool, but I doubt I’ll have enough candles for those before the season ends.

One thought I’d had was to ramp up the rewards at the end of the season, so extra candles or maybe repeatable dailies to catch up. It’s a matter of effort vs the time left.

I’ve basically gotten myself in a situation where I have to get my full six seasonal candles (One gift, four quest, one forged) for the day, every day, or the only way I can get the seasonal elder will be to spend even more money than I already have.
I have half a candle’s margin for error, which is two of the four daily seasonal bunches, and that’s it.
So if I miss even one day, I’m sunk, which is why I panicked when I thought that there wouldn’t be quests on the final day.

@vague hazel I think I was able to do it solo, but I definitely used an anti-gravity spell. It also helps to have a lot of cape wedges, too, without having someone nearby to help charge you.

Lorel if ur in the last wasteland map and you’re in mid flight in the middle of heading to the button, just keep flying. The worst case scenario is you hit the wall of the gated door but that’s fine since the krill don’t go right up against the wall I think. Best case scenario is you actually fly straight into the door and cut off the cutscene

I can confirm that the seasonal elder does go away each time that you watch the cutscene. Simply entering a map and going back home is enough to bring him back, though!

That’s a dev-level question, alas ^^ I don’t quite get the second part of your question. The beta had several updates after the live went global on July 17, some of which were bug fixes and some of which were new features. I don’t know for sure if everything plus the tested new season will be included in the live update that includes the new season.
